Hi Way 6 Cafe

Best place in DeLeon, Texas for a real country breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is a must. Large portions and the service couldn’t have been better. Prices are great and large selection to choose from the menu.

Great place to eat in De Leon! The portion sizes are huge, the food from the menu is always fresh and good! The buffet can be a little inconsistent, but its usually solid as well. We love this hometown cafe!

Drove a bit out of the way to find it because it was one of the rare places open on a Sunday and had nothing better to do. Wasn't disappointed. Probably could make a meal of the salad bar but also had good grilled catfish. This is not a 4 star gourmet restaurant where they serve you silver platters, so don't come in expecting that. If you're looking for some good hometown cooking and don't mind the small town environment, then this is the place.

This is a hidden gem! Excellent home cooked meal. If you close your eyes you can just imagine eating grandma's beans and fried chicken again. Staff was friendly, all of them, especially Lisa. Stop in you will not regret it!

Friendly little cafe. The food was excellent! We stopped in on a Friday evening and had the all you can eat steak and seafood buffet. The variety and quality were great. We were traveling through but would definitely stop here again.

This place has a really great breakfast. And the people of deleon texas are the most down to earth people we always feel welcome here. Haven't tried their lunch yet. But that's next. Breakfast is served and never disappointed. Til next time thanks again.

After scanning the lunch buffet layout we decided to try it. Lots of choices and all was good. Soon after 12:00 noon, the local families began filling all the tables. They had clearly been there for Sunday Lunch buffet before and did not hesitate to get in the buffet line. The kitchen crew & wait staff were prepared to keep the buffet line served for the rush. We had made a good choice for our parking slot and were able to depart when we were ready to go

Stopped at random while traveling cross-country, and found a great restaurant with home style cooking. Our party of seven was seated immediately, our orders taken quickly, and our food served after only a brief wait. All of us agreed the food and service was excellent.

Amazing food especially on the Sunday buffet. The livers were the best we have ever eaten and excels over Bushes Chicken! The fish was just as good as Austin's Catfish Parlor! Their salad bar lacked a lot, but hey that's easy to remedy.

I haven't been here in probably 10 years or more but the food and service were very good!! I highly recommend the steak fingers or chicken strips bc they are hand breaded not frozen! And the salad bar wasn't bad either ☺️ it was very clean and our server was excellent! Loved it!

Food and coffee were worthy but not so much the Ladies room. Septic tank odor needs attention from city or plumber as per my wife. 5 star if that gets fixed.

Food is ok. Large portions. But large portions do not make up for low flavor. Items in food bar are overcooked if they were not just brought out. Steak was not with eating. Catfish was decent but nothing to go out of your way for. Burger was ok, Nothing special. Tons of fries and tater tots. Chicken tenders were run of the mill. Gravies were both nothing to write home about, Both Brown and cream needs plenty of salt and pepper to up the flavor.

Got a BLT and fries. Bacon tasted like it had been cooked from the same pan that fish had been prepared in. Wait staff did great. How do you mess up a BLT?! My wife's order was the same and just as bad. Recommend eating in another town.

Just left Hwy 6 Cafe. The BLT was very good. Had the waitress been the least bit friendly, or even smiled then I would have given it a four. She had a sour look on her face, never smiled once, and only spoke when she had to. When we checked out the only words she spoke then were as she handed my husband his change she said thank you. We live about 40 minutes away and have often said how we needed to try that little cafe. Well, we did, and unfortunately won’t be back. Too bad.

My husband and I ate at Hwy 6 Cafe for lunch today. I had the buffet and in my opion everything needed seasoning. My husband ordered a cheese burger. When it finally arrived after a 22 minute wait, the meat had no seasoning and the bun was dry and crumbly.

You will not very welcome if not a local. Waitress was less than happy we were there. Got cheeseburger special - McDonald would have tasted better, and probably better service. Whole experience made me sorry I stopped there.

Service was very slow and the food was bland. Now you can get all you can eat for a reasonable price but it's so bland and was over cooked from being on the warmer bar that you might not eat to much. The service was so slow I didn't know if we were supposed to just get it our self. I think they were very nice people but they need to hire more severs. Breakfast food was great and reasonably priced. I think that's the best thing on the menu for sure. Everything else just seems over cooked and hard and over priced for that quality. The sweet tea was very good and like I said, very nice people. My children loved the claw machine!!

I wasn’t charged for the steak, but it was still a very unsettling experience—especially with the bill still coming out to $37.

Never had a great dining experience here. Food is iffy and not fresh. It's a little cleaner since they remodeled after the fire. I sometimes get the chef salad to-go. (Hard to mess up a salad.) Ranch dressing is watered down. Servers are cordial, but hard to flag down and service is slow even in a half empty restaurant.

Not based on the food as it wasn't on. Drive 30 miles for their buffet the show all over their Facebook page. Got there at 7pm. No buffet. They posted the buffet would be on 8 hours before hand and nothing. Well at least gas is cheap, oh wait.

Understaffed. Unclean. They took forever to get to our table & get our order & drinks. Tons of tables with dirty plates . Nearly No places to sit since they were all full of dirty plates.

If you’re new to this town and Mexican, DO NOT visit this restaurant. My family and I stopped here, wanting to support local business. We were not even greeted or welcomed, but every person who came in after us was received with a warm hello. Of course, they were all obviously regulars and they also happened to be white. The food was mediocre, the coffee was terrible. I will not ever visit again and I highly discourage anyone who isn’t a regular or white from visiting this place.

What happened to this place? It used to be good. It's like no one cares about quality or service any more. One of the waitresses smelled of urine, which did not help the crappy service, and the salad bar had flies. Gross. That's all I can say. I ordered off the menu and prayed the grease was fairly clean. I won't be back, sadly. I used to eat here a lot. Now that I'm closer I'd hope to do it again. Nooooooo.

We stopped in about 2:30 on a week day on our way back home from Lubbock. The reviews from Google led us here, but unsure why anyone would rate this place above one star based on our visit. The “buffet” is 13.99 and looks very recycled, accompanied by MANY flies. I cannot express how many flies were in this place. I would’ve much rather gone through a drive through (which I typically avoid), but love searching for local cafes and such on road trips. I do not enjoy giving a negative review. The staff was friendly and I tipped extra because the waitress poured us to-go teas. However, this place would not pass a health code inspection in a larger city. The salad bar was discolored, “red”pickled beets were brown, and the food on the hot buffet looked re-served & reheated. We felt awkward trying to leave after ordering our drinks, so we split a burger and a side salad. I always want to support a local business, but this place needs to revamp a few things.. The desert cobbler area at least looked appealing. However, we didn’t stay to try.

Make you know what your paying for. They didn't write the price of lunch buffet until way after lunch was out and we started eating. $12 a plate is way more than what I would have paid being that I have had my stomach stapled. No apology upon me addressing the issue. My opinion ASKED the prices first. it Sure looked like $6.49 for lunch!

Very disappointed, my wife recommended this cafe as she had been here before with a good experience. This was my first visit, the tea was old, there was no buffet even though was advertised and on the menu. They apparently serve crab legs but it's a hidden menu item that's only served on Friday and Saturdays. I decided on a steak which I was told they just served the last one :( At this point we chose to continue down the road. Oh, by the way, we were charged for the old tea. I will not be back!
