First time coming back after years of not eating here and I'll say it was much better over all. They have a pretty good selection of food including seafood. I personally loved most of their chicken dishes. The food does seem fresher and the staff is a lot nicer.
This was a very good Chinese Buffet with sushi and a Mongolian grill. The Mongolian grill options were more limited than my local buffet but everything was fresh and perfectly prepared! The sushi was excellent. The buffet items were on par with my local buffet and everything was recently put out and delicious. A great choice if you like Chinese Buffets.
For the $20 - $25 range you're getting the best deal for your buck without any doubt. Wide food selection, decent seafood during dinner hours, plenty of sweets plus a Mongolian grill. Service is meh, but again for $20 you get a clean table and a soft drink. This is not a Michelin place, waitress only serve your drinks and you'll see them again until they bring your check. 10 out of 10 on its category.
Took my (adult) son here, for his birthday 12/24/25. It was excellent! Service was super attentive! They played happy Birthday over the loud speaker, staff & patrons all sang to him & they gave him cake! Best sweet n sour chicken, great crab rangoon, excellent chicken wings & Chinese donuts, I could go on & on! Highly recommend! Tip: You will over eat!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍
Place used to be phenomenal, then to (presumably) cut costs, a lot of the food took a downward turn in variety and quality. Seems as though recently they are improving and offering a better selection again. So while I believe they probably stoop closer to 4* right now, I'm putting a 5* in acknowledgement that they are back on the up.
All of it was so good at lunch today! My favorites were the egg drop soup, crab sushi and they had very thin noodles with veggies and scrambled egg in it. The pot stickers, varieties of chicken and shrimp were excellent. This is a great buffet and attentive wait staff. Very sanitary and clean bathrooms with antibacterial soup and very clean. Will definitely be back as a great hot buffet on a cold day is always great!
You're sitting at home watching you're favorite show--- Jeapordy, when it abruptly switches to a commercial. The commercial is of a family sitting around a dinner table for the holidays eating delicious food. You are suddenly struck with the realization that you have been so entranced by the intense trivia that you have forgotten to eat for two days. You're starving. You need food, fast. But, what to eat? You look around for an answer. You look for inspiration when you see the portrait of Winston Churchill you have on your wall and it gives you an idea."Chinese food" you think for a reason I can't explain. But there are so many Chinese restaurants around, which one should you go to? You are plagued with this question until....... You die because you can't decide. If this is you, don't fret. I have a solution. Buffet King is a delicious Chinese buffet that has plenty of food for that unintentional two-day fast you were taking. The atmosphere is welcoming with Chinese art all around, the sushi bar is top notch, and the buffet-style makes it great for large families or crowds. Don't die, thrive at Buffet King. They also have a chocolate fountain!
This buffet is amazing, every time I am in Denton it’s the go to stop. All the food is good and the sushi is top notch as well. Good job guys.
It’s an “All-you-can-eat” Chinese buffet. Beyond that the food was very good. Everything was fresh and the lines never moved too slowly. I tried the fried rice, sesame chicken, fried shrimp, beef and broccoli, egg rolls and crab Rangoon. My only complaint is that I like my rice fried a little darker and the sesame chicken was a little on the chewy side. The star of the show was the sweet tea! These people understand exactly how we southerners like our iced tea.
Brought some of the kids and grandkids here last Friday night. The food was tasty, fresh, and plentiful. The garlic shrimp were good, but I looked at my plate and saw one with his fried black eyes giving me a dirty look. I was done with that plate and loaded up on fruit and veggies. The kids had bowls prepared for them and hubby tried the sushi bar. We spent $170. for 7 adults, a 5 year old, and a 2 year old. Tip was included, so it was a good value.
My daughter does not eat Chinese food so we bought her "other food" she has had certain experiences eating Chinese food. However we love it. Buffet King was so understanding and nice, they allowed her to bring in her own food. So the rest of us could enjoy a meal with her together as a family. This isn't a picky child eater review, this is a my stomach hasn't figured out which food at Chinese restaurants makes me sick. As for the rest of us we handle it well. Buffet king was compassionate understanding & kind about it. It was packed, the food was Fresh! Everything was piping hot fresh fried! Very delicious! The sushi was so fresh & good! I did not try the stir fry this time but it looked delicious! We are very thankful.
It's a Mongolian Buffet but has all the dishes that a Chinese buffet would offer. It opens around 11 am. We were there at 11 15 am. Wasn't busy was greeted in the reception. We were 2 people was seated in a nice quiet spot. Next drinks were offered general fountain drinks. Was amazed by the number of dishes I made an effort to taste each and everyone no complains. For the value they offer its awesome. By the time we left every table was occupied. Restrooms were kept very clean. Tables and cutlery all clean. Staffed adequately was efficient in taking away the used plates. Very satisfied will recommend to anyone good value money

Buffet King at 2251 S Loop 288, Denton, TX 76205 More than just your typical Chinese buffet restaurant. So much food options to go over so many choices. Services always good and on point. The lunch special with a drinking and tip is usually under $20 per person so this would be a very good buffet any day of the week.
This was our first time at the Buffet King in Denton. I was pleasantly surprised by the humongous selection offered at the buffet. I went for the Mongolian grill. YEAH! But no. The cook back there was incredibly, relentlessly, unnecessarily rude - not only to me, but to the lady behind me who was asking him about sugar free sauce options. Grilling isn't rocket science, y'all so it might behove you to consider replacing him for someone who is halfway decent to customers. Other than him and his garbage attitude, the restaurant, food, and service were excellent. I highly recommend the Buffet King just steer clear of the Mongolian grill.

It was quite busy. Almost every food is sweet, could keep some food which is spicy as well.
Service is great and fast, we loved that, but the food is not the best. It’s enough to be filling but the flavor just isn’t all there. Sushi was also not kept very cold and was closer to room temp. If you have an MSG sensitivity then this is a good place, but other than that, it’s just okay and you’d probably be better somewhere else.
Not many buffet places to choose from in the area. Food isn't bad but isn't great either. I don't think it's worth the price you pay personally but there aren't any other options closer, so?

Was not worth it to me. Its not the worst in the world for sure but I by no means would go again. Overall price and quality of food didn't match up, and one of the lady's was asking if I was done trying to take my plate I just got there maybe 15 minutes prior
First the food was okay, but some was almost cold. When I went to pay the Bill was 20 I pay cash with a 100 dollars Bill, and they gave me 70 dollars change, it could be a mistake, I got their attention and the waitress took the change back And this time they gave me the $ was owed to me. I got home and betún to feel bad, I was feeling bad kind of sick A type of feeling of food poisoned. I took some baking soda with water to feel better, and thank God it made me feel good. If you want the most bland Chinese food you've ever had: Buffet King is the place for you. It seems like the majority of their food is seasoned with just oil and red pepper. Everything tastes over cooked which I guess is better than under, but it makes everything very dry and the lack of seasoning doesn't help. I've never had a more bland experience of Chinese food. I had high hopes since it was packed when I went, but y'all just must have bad taste. The only good item I had was the egg drop soup and that's pretty hard to mess up. Sushi they have is your garden variety grocery store options. There's also a "Mongolian" grill that cooks to order, but I wasn't in the mood for that. I was so unimpressed by the food, I completely forgot to get desert. They were busy and I had to wait for my table for one, but it was only 5 minutes or so and they have seating to wait on at least. My waitress in my area seemed very busy, but she was quick to take my used plates while I was away and brought me the check and change quickly. I will say the food is quickly restocked when they're busy so you never wait long. But it's so mediocre

We went to Buffet King for lunch. My husband had a service dog. We were seated. Placed a drink order. And before he could approach the buffet we were told the dog needed to stay at the table. The dog is registered, liscensed and we carry all his information with us. This is not an acceptable. We were tied that we should understand. I understand that my business is not for you. Very disappointing that someone with a disability is treated this way
The food was Mid at best, it wasn't good but wasn't awful. The issue was the service. We were given the check before we were even through our first plate it felt like they were already rushing us, our server didn't refill our drinks once, when she came by she just grabbed plates, some that we weren't even done with. Then when we decided to leave no tip we got pressured to leave one TWICE. Not to mention they tried to sneak us giving them a tip in the bill, putting it in already but we had taken it off. Absolutely awful, do not go to this place.
Was here 10/31/2025. Not good, do not recommend. Very little food in the trays to serve, vegetables and pastas were way overcooked, pizza dry/burnt. Food has been sitting in the heat for too long. I wanted wonton soup, there was barely any. I took about 3 trips to see if there was more, and nope... The server was nice. However I walked up to the register and talked to the lady but she didnt care to make things right, or at least apologize. All she said was, "nobody has complained. I'll give you 10% off ok" just to shut me up. Will definitely not be going back
The expectation of gratuity is prevalent in this establishment. During a recent visit for a quick lunch, I selected and obtained my meal independently. The total cost was under $9. I let her know that I didn't want the change. Upon tendering payment, the cashier exhibited an expectation of a tip, despite my self-service. Furthermore, the cashier's subsequent communication in a foreign language, presumably regarding the lack of a tip, was unprofessional. Consequently, I will not be returning to this establishment.
Service is good food is horrible I would not eat here again I rather eat rather eat Taco Bell that has been sitting in a hot car for 3 months would not eat here again could not make it past four plates there was 3 of us
