This is such a cute place! Heard a lot of mixed signals on it so i went to check it out myself! I LOVED it! It has great potential! The food was amazing! I cant wait to dance there! I know this would be a great resturant!
Great time With a little taste of texas. They are still getting everything together but is definitely a great place for some food and drinks . The Queso was amazing 🔥🔥 The side beans where gone before I could take a picture after the first bite I looked back and I had finished it all and almost got another one but definitely will be back Don't forget the Texas Tea From the Bar 🍻🍻🍻
Had a meeting there it was great. The staff was great and the food was great. Great customer service

We came for Saturday morning breakfast and it was delicious! We had bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, ham, hashbrowns, two orange juices and two mimosas. Without the mimosas, it was only $30 total (and it was all you can eat so I could have eaten more!). That’s a steal for brunch in Denton! As I’m typing this, it’s noon on Saturday and there are only 6 patrons eating here, so this place is definitely still a secret. I truly think once word starts to spread, this place has the potential to be a really cool and successful spot. I can’t wait to come back and try their regular lunch/dinner menu! And the service was fantastic as well! Our waitress, Amya, was super friendly and was so attentive to everyone. It did kind of feel like we were all regulars as she spoke to us, which we loved! For what it’s worth, she was super knowledgeable about the menu, the upcoming events (artist on Friday!), and the stolen mechanical bull that’s being replaced, but mostly she was just really really friendly and nice! If I had to list a con, when you use the urinal in the men’s restroom, it sounds and feels like you’re being abducted by aliens due to the hum of whatever ac device is directly above your head. But such a minor thing :) If you live in the Denton area, I would highly recommend heading over here and giving Saddle Up a try, especially on the weekend for the all you can eat breakfast!
We had dinner yesterday and the food was great. Service was even better and it would so nice outside. The kids had fun too. We will definitely be going back and hopefully be able to go in the evening with the live music next time.
Emily the bartender was friendly and attentive. I had the shrimp and grits and it was seasoned to perfection. My husband had the pork chop and it was also seasoned and cooked well. We will definitely be back!
Ordered online for a pick up and received a call explaining an issue with the menu. Got it fixed immediately. Food was PHENOMENAL. Absolutely stellar and loved the energy of the woman on the phone. We will be back for sure!
Great experience and service. Haley our bartender and Tabitha was our server. Great catfish and fries. Burger was tasty as well.
Let me start by saying- this business deserves WAY MORE LOVE THAN ITS GETTING. All of the food was fire. The burgers, the sides, the DESSERTS!!!!! Our server was awesome- I forgot their name, I am so sorry! They have live music on the weekends and a mechanical bull and all kind of cute stuff. Also, the manager/owner was super dope, we got to meet her (I think?) We will be back for SURE!
I had a really enjoyable lunch at Saddle Up Restaurant and Rodeo. From the moment I walked in, the hostess Olivia was warm and attentive — she greeted me with a smile and made the whole check-in and seating process feel easy and welcoming. At the bar, the bartender Haley went above and beyond. Not only was the drink well-made, but she took the time to explain a few of the cocktail options and offered some great recommendations. You can tell she cares about the details, and it really added to the experience. The atmosphere was inviting, and the space itself is beautifully done. For a new restaurant, the staff already seems to have a good rhythm and positive energy. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back — and I definitely will.
The food entrees were limited due to them just having recently opened however the menu items that were available are delicious. There WAS plenty to choose from. We had the Rodeo (fried) chicken dinner with Ranglin collard greens and mashed potatoes that were all VERY good...not greasy at all and cooked perfectly. Second item was the Cactus Creek cheese burger with the Western French fries which were both absolutely DELICIOUS. The thick cut french fries have a seasoning mix that was really tasty and original... yummy!!! Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be visiting here again!!!

This place hands down has the best mac and cheese and fried chicken I've ever had from a restaurant. None of that Stouffer's nonsense, they have really really good mac and cheese.

We got burgers and tenders, it was all very good. The desserts were good as well. Waiter was very very polite.

Saddle Up – Denton’s New Country Bar with Soul 📍 Off I-35 & Loop 288 near the Workforce Center Saddle Up has only been open six days, but it’s already making an impression. This country-and-western–style bar brings together music, a friendly crowd, and soul food comfort classics under one roof. Atmosphere & Vibe The first thing I noticed was the people—welcoming, genuine, and fun. The environment feels laid-back and true to its western theme, with music, mechanical bulls, cocktails, and plenty of laughter. Service & Staff The service here is what really sets Saddle Up apart. Emily, the bartender, deserves a shout-out—her drinks are strong (one was enough to feel it!) and her bartending skills are sharp. I also met the DJ, who was friendly and happy to play requests, and the owner, who was approachable and kind. When I did have a small issue with my food, management handled it immediately and with true professionalism—apologetic, open, and caring. That’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back. Food While I can’t yet give a full food review, I did try the pork chop and sampled the chicken fried steak my friend ordered. She loved hers, and I enjoyed mine once the small issue was corrected. The standout sides for me were the candied yams and the macaroni and cheese—comfort food done right. I can see these becoming fan favorites. Final Thoughts Saddle Up is still brand new, and opening a soul food spot in Denton is no small task. But with the warm hospitality, great music, strong drinks, and tasty comfort food, I truly believe this place has the potential to thrive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (4.5 out of 5 for potential and experience) Open until midnight. Stop by for the music, stay for the food, and support a local business that’s working hard to make its mark.

We give three stars because the place just opened and we are giving the benefit of the doubt. Glows: chicken fried steak is tender and flavorful. A little too much breading. Cheeseburger was good. Bread was tasty as well. Mac and cheese was very good. Our server was attentive. Portions were large. Grows: my wine came out in a champagne glass and was a super small pour. There is no drink menu. And not much selection on the menu in general (but maybe they are still in soft opening mode). Onion rings were over seasoned. Our server wasn’t familiar with the beer menu. The music is too loud and the music selection is questionable. There is no decor on the walls. Notes: they have outdoor seating and a mechanical bull. Not really a one and done. But if the menu and ambiance don’t change, we will not be back a third time. Don’t feel like this was a $60 meal…

My family ate here about a week ago. This place is either not ready for prime time or they just don't care about it enough to make it an enjoyable experience. The initial red flag was that there has been no landscaping done outside the property. It looks like an abandoned building. Gave it a chance anyways. We all wanted chicken fried steak, but they were out. I ordered a burger instead. The burger itself wasn't bad, but it was overcooked and the patty was smaller than the bun, which was not very big. My wife and daughter split a catfish basket. Parts of the fish were still raw. We were told by wait staff that the we would not be charged for the catfish, we were. Somehow they were out of ice as well so we couldn't get cold drink refills. Another group left before getting food because they were out of so many items. The waitress was pleasant enough, but again, did not remove the raw fish from our ticket. And speaking of the ticket, when it came time to pay, there was an issue with the Internet there so their POS was offline. I was told to come to the bar to pay and when I did it was a group effort for the staff to figure out their own POS. I love local businesses and would like to see this place succeed, but it's certainly not ready at this time. I'll check back in in maybe 6 months and see how it's going.

The best part of this business is the music. We were there over an hour and a half for burgers. Mine arrived as a double meat cheeseburger. I ordered a single hamburger. Our bill was $49 for 2 burgers and 3 beers. I also noticed the tax rate was over 9% The place has potential but they some hustle
We ordered on DoorDash so I can only speak about the food. It was terrible. I ordered collard greens. I am used to eating good collard greens boiled in seasonings, turkey legs or ham hocks, and broth for a few hours. These tasted like they were boiled in water and vinegar, nothing else. Not a seasoning in sight. I was hoping the shrimp and grits would make up for it. I could visibly see seasoning on the shrimp but there was no flavor in the grits. That was enough for me to not even try the actual shrimp. They sent some rolls with the dinner but they were clearly stale and I wasnt willing to try them. This doesnt seem like a newly opened place issue that will be ironed out unfortunately, this was just bad food.
Horrible experience. Although the drinks were fine and the place was clean, the service staff was HORRIBLE! Tried to over charge us on drinks and TRIPLED DOWN on the price of the bill. They went to the extent to watch the cameras to see if we were trying to lie… shocker, the cameras showed us drinking the number of drinks I said. Waitress threw a pissy fit because she got embarrassed. Several other people in the place told us they felt sorry for us as we left. Long story short, take your business elsewhere :)
I wasn't treated well. I asked for a refund because sea food shouldn't take too long to cook and they treated me like a angry black man. I paid $20 just to leave safe without any problems.
Update…we left zero tip due to the poor service..they had the audacity to CHANGE our receipt and charged our credit card a $10 tip!! That is absolute fraud! Stay away from this business!! We came for drinks only, we were having fun until the bill came…we had bottled beer (they dont have draft, originally told $5 a beer) and I ordered 2 Tito’s cranberry…total bill came to $70+…I said no way (we had 7 beers*we actually think 6 , and two mixed drinks …bill at max should have been $49-$56 dependent on who’s “math”) bartender was extremely rude and aggressive and got manager on the phone. I tried explaining what we drank but the prices for our bill kept changing!! The waitress was shaking her head because she knew I was right! There is no drink menu so it was a wing it argument. Bartender walked off and left waitress to deal with the issue. We will NEVER go back! My advice, keep close tabs on ur food and drink. Seemed shady. But most upset that bartender just walked off. Not a good business.
