Ocean Prime - Denver - Larimer Square

The hostess was very friendly and made me feel at home. My waitress was also very friendly and attentive. I ordered the 16oz Ribeye and added a lobster tail and mushrooms. The steak was cooked to perfection, had great flavor, and just the right blend of fat and meat. The lobster was also cooked perfectly and tasted so good. The mushrooms were delicious. It was all delicious. The atmosphere was romantic but alive with conversation. My only complaint would be that the lobster tail could have been a little bigger for the price. Other than that, I really enjoyed my dinner.

Had an awesome time Saturday night having dinner with my wife. The service was impeccable. They known for steaks, but this night we focused on seafood and Ocean Prime did not disappoint. The food we ordered was delicious (lobster linguine, scallops, oysters, and lobster bisque) and it arrive without any delays. Overall it was a fabulous dining experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

I had family in town and we were celebrating 🍾 so of course I took them to the spot I know has Amazing seafood and steaks. The meal was fabulous. A favorite was the Lobster Linguine, divine! ☺️. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the au gratin potatoes are delicious. The food is wonderful but nothing is better than having amazing service. We had April who is fabulous and Mikey was great. That night it was crazy busy with a big party but you would never know it as my family truly felt spoiled by everyone. The management team of Derek Ketelhohn and Kevin Roland is top notch, amazing work you two! :) I always recommend this location to people. A must try ☺️

THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME! I think this is the best service I have ever had! The wait staff was phenomenal! The food was great also. Everything was so delicious. I highly recommend the calamari. The steak was melt in your mouth tender.

We are the best food, dessert and some delicious local beer! Best dining experience and Elliot M was such an amazing server! Treated us like family and that is priceless!

I have often shied away from the big national chain steakhouses but this place was excellent cuisine and they did a great job taking care of our team. Danny provided excellent service and had uncommon mastery of the menu.

Spent time with great friends and delicious food at Ocean Prime. Highly recommend. Figure about $100+per person. I am back at Oceans Prime for our Anniversary. The perfect place to enjoy the celebration with dinner & perks! *wink*

I ordered scallops and lobster bisque. Both were very good. I would say skip the scallops as they weren’t anything special. Cooked perfectly but lacking in flavor. However their steak was to die for. Maybe one of the best and most unique flavored steaks ever. Choose french onion soup over the lobster bisque. Really enjoyed the king crab legs and the mocktail was also fabulous. We had a private room. I will say the service was European timed…so took forever and almost painful to get each next course ordered.

First time dining here,we came the day after Valentine’s Day. The whole experience was worth every second and every penny. Our waiter was incredible, made great recommendations on what to order. The drinks were delicious and made very well. Steaks and lobster cooked perfectly, and the jalapeño potatoes were a perfect addition to our meal. Our ticket was pretty steep but if you like to splurge on dining out at exquisite locations downtown, you will not be disappointed in this place. Beautiful view, sushi, and date night. Thanks soo much for making our night special. We will be back.

The ribeye steak might be the best I’ve ever had, melted in your mouth. The french onion soup and iceberg wedge are good starters. Service was excellent, it’s always been a standard high end restaurant in Denver.

Great, consistent seafood and steak restaurant. Tuna nigiri buttery and fresh tasting. Snapper portion was large and tasted great. Dirty martinis were well balanced. Minor complaints on the Alaskan king crab dish— the included sides of potato and asparagus were small & the crab was in several smaller pieces and I would have preferred larger legs. Service was efficient and not overbearing. Location is good in Larimer Square.

I was surprised with a trip to Denver for my birthday & this is the restaurant where I celebrated my birthday at. This restaurant did not disappoint it’s highly rated & it deserves the praise. The staff were welcoming. The atmosphere was elegant with a cozy romantic feeling to it. The food & drinks were very appetizing & very enjoyable. I had the best Salmon ever cooked medium well it was very succulent. A reservation was made in advance so there was no wait I was seated immediately. Once seated the waiter came over to introduce himself within a matter of seconds welcoming us making conversation insuring that we felt welcomed, comfortable & as if we were at home. He gave a rundown of the menu, suggested some of the popular food items, asked if there were any food allergies & told us to take our time deciding what we wanted. He constantly came to check in if everything was good & whatever we needed which wasn’t a lot he got it done. The service was top tier I wish I remembered his name but whenever I’m in Denver again I definitely have to go back. I also got a free dessert due to it being my birthday not sure if that’s what the restaurant does or if it was on him but that was really splendid either way.

Loved everything about it! We went for our 10-year anniversary on New Year's Eve, and they were able to find us a cozy booth in the lounge and made it special. They even put rose petals on our table!! The young lady that served us was on point and very sweet. We had the ribeye, filet mignon, and the jalapeno potato au gratin for our side and it all was amazing!! Well worth the money to have such a good time and great food. A wonderful dinner to be remembered!

The beef was fantastic, the beautiful savory flavor is exactly what you want when it comes to steak, this place delivers. Garlic whipped potatoes were okay, still good but I’d skip next time. Truffle Mac n cheese, fantastic! The absolute banger was the creamed spinach, it’s hard to describe but this is one of the best things I’ve had in my mouth. Butter cake to round it out was Devine. Best dinner I’ve had, I truly mean that! Also this was during a busy Sunday after a huge Broncos game and they still provided excellent service!

Everything was delicious!! The warm butter cake was the best dessert I’ve ever had…. Seriously, my jaw dropped at how delicious it was. Highly recommend!

Had a very nice meal, very attentive service, comfortable atmosphere. Menu has good variety, some nice appetizers, you can easily order off menu for cocktails. Our entrees were very well cooked, and not over seasoned nor over salted, portions were generous for this type of restaurant. Nothing will blow you away with unique ingredients, preparation, or presentation, so I wouldn't say the food is "exciting", but everything was solid and flavorful. Service was top notch, not overly in your face, but always there when you needed them.

Our server Tyler took excellent care of us from the moment. We sat down till about 12:05 AM January 1, 2026 when we’re gonna toast our champagne and walk out everything was great. We will maybe hopefully come back soon

Came here for a late dinner last night and it was delicious!! Food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We got the calamari, filet, the lamb along side of lobster Mac n cheese. Our server sold us on everything and was a joy to talk to.

My experience was nothing short of fantastic. The food and ambiance were on point, and Nathan and Kevin provided world-class service. I can’t wait to find an excuse to come back! They are serving the highest quality product with true hospitality professionals. Bravo!

This was my first time there the service was outstanding and the food was spectacular! The waiter explained all specials and answered all questions for out table. Was great with everything! I had the salmon it was so moist and delicious! I also had the calamari and it was a great dish too!

Dinner was amazing, Elliott made our night out even better. His recommendations for the Bubbles & Berries drink hit on point. My husband had the Black Orchid and it was really good too. Scallop and Rib appetizer was very tasty. We loved the Lobster Bisque and were able to split a cup. Elliott also recommended the Jalepeno Au Gratin and that was amazing too. Our steaks cooked perfectly and tasted so good.

This definitely is a fine dining experience. I made reservations a few days ahead of time for my 36th wedding anniversary. We got there and they already had rose petals on the table reserved for us. The waiter, Tim, was top-notch. The other staff came by often to refill our drinks and take away unneeded plates. The food was really well done. Overall an incredible experience. I had eaten at a different location a couple of years ago through work, and this was our first time eating at the downtown location. It is pricey but that's just the way it is. You know going into it that it is very high class dining and well worth it. They prepared a free dessert for us. My total bill came to $200 but I tipped very well.

My husband made dinner reservations for our date night at Ocean Prime last evening. We’ve been living in the area for close to a decade but had never visited for food (sadly)! Our experience was nothing short of fabulous. We started with the Pineapple Picante drinks and they brought out complimentary truffle popcorn as an appetizer to back on. We ordered a dozen oysters (6 east coast, 6 west) which were super fresh and tasty! Before our entree, we ordered the Reposado Paper Plane and Manhattan, both great. My husband ordered the limited menu special Halibut as his entree. I was planning to order the grouper, but opted with the limited menu special Piedmontese 10 oz filet mignon without butter. It was hands down the best steak I’ve had in my entire life. I ordered medium and it was cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully with peppercorn. It’s an incredibly lean cut that melts in your mouth. I hadn’t planned on ordering steak at a restaurant that specializes in seafood, but damn I’m glad that I did. Chefs kiss. Flawless. For sides, we ordered black truffle mac and cheese and roasted brussels sprouts to share. Both were cooked beautifully. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich with black truffle flavor. The brussels were crisp and flavorful. We dined outside, and the view at sunset was perfect. Small table lights kept the scene romantic and elegant. Royce helped us last evening and was wonderful- very knowledgeable, and attentive. It started drizzling rain towards the end of our meal and he got us set up inside at a high top since I wasn’t ready to part with the remaining mac and cheese yet (lol). We had the butter cake to go- it was divine. Everything was nothing short of fabulous and OP is highly recommended if you’re in the Lodo area.

This is a very special restaurant. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Denver, both food quality and fanciness wise. I got the blue cheese crusted 8 oz filet and it was easily one of the best steaks, if not the best, I’ve ever had. My girlfriend got the Chilean sea bass and absolutely loved it. We also split the miso-chili broccoli (excellent) and got complimentary truffle popcorn when we sat down. The server was very attentive to my girlfriend and I, and helped celebrate her special birthday well. We got the peanut butter pie for dessert. Everything was amazing! We will absolutely be back. Thank you, OP, for helping us celebrate in a special way!

Came for the wife’s birthday, wonderful overall. Best steak and lobster we’ve ever had. Best waiter, but tight/ not so intimate quarters. Happy to pay $350 for a meal this delicious, but would love more privacy.

We dined on 7/25 during our yearly girls trip & we were blown away with the food & Chris P’s service!! He was so sweet & had a great smile all throughout service. He paced everything very well & we had sucha fun experience here! Items we had were… espresso martinis, surf & turf app., tequila cocktails(my personal favorite drink of the evening), hot & dirty martini, lobster bisque, ceaser salad, teriyaki salmon, smoked gouda tater tots & finished it all off with the warm butter cake! We also had a delicious chefs feature sushi roll for an appetizer! We would definitely dine again!!

We walked in and sat at the upstairs bar. TJ and Mikey took great care of us. We started with the bread basket ($8) which had a variety of warm soft bread, flatbread and pretzel. The cocktails were amazing! We had the Berries & Bubbles and the Tequila Cocktail. TJ gave us shots of the smoothest pineapple infused Tequila. We enjoyed the 10oz Filet, Lobster Mac & Cheese and Red Bird Chicken. Our food was all served promptly and the service was stellar! We learned about the "in kind" app with dining awards from another couple at the bar and signed up giving us and them a discount. It was a great evening. Would definitely go again next time we are near Larimer Square.

My boyfriend and I went to Ocean Prime for his birthday dinner with no reservation and happily got seats at the bar. Derin and Tj were our bartenders, they were attentive, kind, funny and made this birthday feel so special. The drinks were amazing (specifically the pineapple picante). Derin had great food recommendations and let us know we could 1/2 orders of sides. Amazing idea! A great dinner out and worth every penny! Thanks so much Derin and Tj!!!

Fantastic food and service, we really enjoyed our dinner here last night. Our server Mark was excellent - very attentive and friendly and gave us great recommendations. We used the valet service since parking can be tough downtown, it’s right outside the door and only $15 if the restaurant validates it.

My wife and I had an amazing anniversary date night here! Our table was sprinkled with rose petals which was a nice extra touch and we really appreciated it. The food was amazing, perfectly cooked, portions were actually decent sized, the best sushi we've had in Denver, cocktails mixed expertly, and service was great. Our waiter, Danny, was very helpful with all of our questions and made sure we were fully satisfied with our meal! Very pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend to everyone wanting a nice dinner date!

High quality atmosphere and service. Unique high end drink offerings. We only ate oysters and they did come out with horseradish right on top of the cocktail sauce, I would have preferred having them separate but those east coast oysters were pretty good. I had a Unique berry blend cocktail with a dry ice base that created a sustained bubbling effect, it was a fun trick.

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary and Ben M was our waiter. He did an absolutely incredible job and gave us amazing recommendations for food/ drinks. He was very attentive and friendly. This was an unforgettable experience in the best way possible. We will definitely be back and we will definitely request him again. Usually “Fogo De Chao” is our go to restaurant but I believe that’s changed after tonight. The food was the best food either of us have had. Thanks!

I had an exceptional dining experience at Ocean Prime in Denver, just a short walk from the Four Seasons Hotel. This restaurant delivers elevated cuisine in a stylish and refined setting, perfect for a special night out or celebration. The seafood and steak offerings were cooked beautifully and packed with flavor, and the service was professional, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The elegant atmosphere made the whole experience feel very upscale without being stuffy. If you’re staying at a luxury hotel nearby and want a fantastic dinner, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Celebrated my mother in laws birthday here, the ambiance was nice, our server Chris was attentive and knowledgeable, food was good! The tuna tartare and the smoked old fashion were the highlights for me. My husband loved the teriyaki salmon and my mother in law loved the scallop dish. The asparagus and hollandaise were not great though, both were very bland. Overall was a good experience.

I had family visiting from overseas for the Christmas holidays and we popped into Ocean Prime Downtown Denver after a Sunday matinee ballet show. We arrived right at 4pm when the restaurant was opening, but before the dinner crowd so it was lovely and quiet. Friendly, attentive service from all staff, including Jimmy the host, and Elliott our server. Our favorite dishes were the scallops and short ribs hot appetizer and the blackened snapper, which were to die for. Stuffed and happy, we barely had room to share the warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream and berries, which I am still dreaming about a week later. Slightly bummed that we had to pay for the bread basket (hence 4 stars instead of five), but hey ho, that seems to be the way of the restaurant world today. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Ocean Prime if you like good food, and the cost is not excessive for a seafood restaurant in land-locked Colorado.

We had high expectations going in (recommendations and price point). Very disappointing. Besides the service being atrocious, not sure if they were understaffed or waiter was just bad, they ruined an incredible piece of steak and lobster tail with way too much salt. It just wasnt necessary, the flavor would have been fine with out it. Same with the sides. For the amount of money you spend there, I wouldnt go again, nor recommend.

To preface my review, I had just flown into Denver and the meals I had for the next multiple days were similarly underwhelming for me, so there is a chance my taste buds had not acclimated to the altitude. However, I do feel like enough was off on this pricey meal to think that altitude adjustment was not the only issue. Service was good, my flight was delayed so we did have to rush a bit, but the waiter was on top of it and got us out just fine. The bread was good, and my drink was fun. Honestly, it was a bit hard to drink, as the fizz lasted for like 30 minutes, and I had no desire to get berry stains everywhere, but it was tasty. The flavor of the appetizer of scallops and braised beef was pretty good, though the scallop was a little overcooked (slightly too chewy). My dad didn’t love that the same red wine sauce came on the scallop as the beef, but that’s his preference, I didn’t mind too much. It was also very small, so having the scallop less than perfect was a bit of a bummer. The steak was the most disappointing part, for me, because it came out overcooked. I didn’t have time to send it back, though, so I ate it and didn’t make a big deal out of it. The Brussels sprouts were also very plain. I love Brussels, but I wouldn’t order those again. The butter cake was fine, not *quite* as good as I remember, but still enjoyable, so I’m willing to blame that on altitude adjustment. One of our favorite meals of all time was at Ocean Prime in Boston, to the point where we changed our trip to go back a second time within the week. So this was quite disappointing.

I didn't really have a good experience. The food tasted great and the bartender was super friendly and helpful. I came in and sat at the bar by myself. The bartender took my order. I got the hamchi crudo as an appetizer and scallops for my entree. I sat there for over an hour waiting for the food. I don't know what happened in the kitchen. The bartender caught on because more than half the bar had left before I even got the appetizer. Even couples that had came in after me had already paid before I got any food. He did apologize, and he did take off the appetizer but it was just frustrating. It seemed like I was the only that had that issue and I'm guessing my ticket just got lost. I would come back though. The food was really good. Hopefully my experience next time is different.

We had been here about 5 years ago and loved it, however, it seems the quality has gone downhill a lot. We spent almost $400 for two people which included 1lb of crab legs, an 8oz filet mignon, 2 cocktails, oysters, and a side of brussel sprouts. To start, bread is no longer free and now costs $8 which is disappointing when we're spending so much on drinks and entrees, especially when the entrees are so small. I will say that both cocktails (Pineapple Picante and Yuzu Sour) we tried were incredible and we enjoyed them very much. The crab legs were extremely disappointing, for $150 we got 1lb of okay crab legs (we've had better at Red Lobster or the buffet at Black Hawk!) with 4 pieces of watery asparagus and a bland potato. The sauce in the plate was watery as well, lacking lemon/garlic/salt. The Oysters were okay? It felt strange to get prepackaged packs of saltines at what is supposed to be a nicer restaurant. The steak was tasty and cooked well, but it feels disappointing to get a big plate with only a steak and we did still add salt to it. I would be happier to get 4 pieces of watery asparagus and a bland potato with it than nothing. The brussel sprouts were tasty, not the best I've ever had. There should be an option to get a smaller side for less than $15-$46 when ordering a steak for $60-$110 that comes with nothing. Service and atmosphere were fine, but we will not be coming back and do not recommend getting a meal here.
