I no longer live in an area that has Ted's Hot Dogs, but this location is where I got my first job before I could even drive. Despite working there, I never grew sick of their food and still look forward to going there whenever I come back to town to visit family. Always has great food and the only problem is I cant eat enough to get some of everything I want.
Teds will always be legendary in this area. Every bit of food that comes from this place is fresh and delicious. For a place that really is fast food it exceeds expectations. They are always extremwly prompt. Your order is never something that takes forever. Its alwayys prepared well and same great quality each time. The staff is stupendous. Theyre not only friendly theyre welcoming. They enjoy being there and they enjoy interacting with customes. Always clean. Tables never stay dirty. Overall one of the best food places on Union if not the best simply for its accessbility, covenience, and excellent service.
Seriously, if you're looking for fast food fare that doesn't taste like they don't care, that actually is consistent and very good, this is the spot. Hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken that are grilled to perfection, served with fries and onion rings that are handmade, its a no brainer.
Excellent hotdogs and hamburgers. Love their fries. Plus they have gluten free rolls!! They have this dessert called a Teddy Bear! Ice cream, fudge and peanuts dipped in chocolate. YUMMY!
If you're in WNY and like a good char-broiled hot dog ... then Ted's is your place! I got the foot long with everything on it, a 'split' order of fries and onion rings and a loganberry - the perfect Saturday lunch!!!!
Love coming here and I've been coming to TED'S for the longest time. When my dad owned a gas station on Sheridan and Colvin we would get lunch for everyone who was working and it would be a big order. 16 hot dogs, 4 burgers, 6 ordere of fries and maybe 3-4 milkshakes . Those were the best days!
Reminds you of the old days. The smell and the fresh charcoal grilled. Mmmm! Great fries too. Never got the vinegar thing though. 😊 Prices aren't that bad. Great quality and servings.
A western New York staple. If you haven't tried Ted's you haven't tried Buffalo NY
I love teds. Consistent food that always delivers. I want everyone to try the loganberry milkshake. Well done Teds
We're former Buffalo residents but still have family and friends that live in & around Buffalo. We make at least 2 trips "back home" each year and ALWAYS stop at Ted's for our hot dog fix..
Great place to grab a bite to eat. The dogs were fresh! The fries were fresh! Definitely had a great staff on duty. Will recommend to people I know.
We were just passing through the area and decided to stop for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was our first time here so we had no idea what to expect. The food was great and the prices reasonable. It was a nice atmosphere to dine in.
Quintessential Buffalo Hot Dog..Historically embedded in Buffalo's Lore..first spot was opened to feed workers building the Peace Bridge circa 1928..The very Best ONION RINGS Anywhere ! The Hot Relish...Loganberry..the hits keep coming
Best place for a hot dog! Or chicken sandwich or hamburger but definitely have a dog! The split is great because they give you fries and onion rings in one container.
Best family restaurant with variety! I loved the BLT chicken sandwich. My two and three year old ate their own hot dog cuz Mama had her hands full.
Best hot dog place ever friendly staff fast service.Great food
We grabbed a quick late lunch on Saturday around 3pm, not very busy. Place was clean, staff courteous yet quick, this is the only place we get footlong hot dogs...We absolutely love getting a "split" of half onion rings & half of WNY'S best French fries around, in our opinion. Washed it down with an ice cold root beer--the only way to go, unless you love Loganberry 😉 Great place with plastic barriers.
What else can be said? Good food, good service at a great price! Stores are always clean and sanitary too. Big +++ these days! It's always like a summer cookout at Ted's! Highly encourage locals to take out-of-towners here for a real hot dog.
It's been a great experience each time coming here, the food is tasty, the staff are friendly, and even if the line is long is seems to move quickly! On the pricier side, but worth it if you're in the mood
Always delicious. This place is a staple whenever I'm in the mood for a quick burger and fries. Never dissapointed here and they even have a really good gluten free roll and are very careful for my gf that has Celiac's! Keep doing what you guys are doing because it's working!
To me, Ted's is a Buffalo classic. I always try to stop when I am in the area. Flame grilled hot dogs that you can customize with a number of toppings. Onion Rings or Fries with malt vinegar ... all good every time! They even offer gluten free buns for the hot dogs (for an extra cost)!
I enjoyed the hotdogs and fries, everything on the dog with pickle,so good, the fries were done just right. Chocolate milkshake with whipped cream really hit the spot.
Another great local Ted's location. As stated in my review of the Union Road Ted's, they offer awesome burgers and hot dogs. If you visit, make sure to get some of their famous hot sauce! Gluten free options available.
A buffalo staple and a MUST do if you are in our beautiful city. Teds proves all hot dogs aren't equal. I have had dogs in NYC all the way down the east coast. Teds is the best. P.s try the onion rings and loginberry.
I love their charcoal hot dogs but their milkshakes are made with real hard ice cream and are the best also. I really like the BBQ chicken sandwich as well, I guess I just really like Ted's!!! LOL
One of my favorite places to visit when in town. Nobody can beat a delicious Salhen,'s hotdog. I love that they still offer Loganberry as well. Food I'd still reasonably priced as well. And I loved the new items added to the menu
I love Ted's. Been going to Ted's my whole life. My father took us as kids. If you come to Buffalo you must have a charcoal hot dog at Ted's. I never miss the chance to dine out at Ted's. The hot sauce is great.
Friendly fast service as usual. . We had the Italian sausage with the fixings, and onion rings. I would recommend them.
Classic burgers and dogs. Staff is awesome and okay with strange requests. Always clean and a rather short wait even when packed.
Great food excellent service.
Visited the Transit rd location. Best onion rings around& foot long with everything! Sat outside on a beautiful Fall day & my nephew just back from Japan got his Ted's fix! Always fun & great food!
If I had to choose a last meal, it would be a Ted's hot dog and their glorious fries. I'm trying to eat healthier but Ted's calls to me like a siren luring me to the rocks of hyperlipidemia. Worth it tho. Service is always good.
The best $16.00 on 2 Italian sausages I ever spent 😤 along with Drink came out close to $20.00 lol but the staff was super nice and the business was professionally ran & super clean even the outside lol
The Service was Excellent, the people at the Grill were really nice. The Young Girl with the Dark Ponytail that made my Onion Rings made them perfect! They weren't burnt like a lot of other people that make them! The other people make them too crispy & they're burnt. The girl made them perfect like I said before. Kudos to her! She made my day!!!!!
Truely, charcoal grilled dogs prepared in front of your eyes! Informal but it lives up to its reputation as one of Buffalos best hotdogs venues. And sit outside if it's a warm spring, summer, fall day or evening!
Whenever I go out for a hot dog, this is the place I love to go to. Never have to wait too long and the food is always prepared perfectly! And right in front of you! The folks preparing your order are always polite and responsive! If I am not cooking my own, I go here!
I always have a great meal when I go to Ted's. It's always great in fall and winter when I'm missing grilling at home. I know it's called Ted's Hot Dogs, but they have a great cheeseburger as well. Try the hot relish on whatever you choose, burger or dog.
The employees were so sweet! The girl taking my order made the environment seem so welcoming then everyone else was friendly. All the cooks always listen to your requests and are really understanding about allergies. Super b service and excellent food! Made a lifetime customer out of me!
We've been to this location of Ted's Hotdogs many times over the last 10 years. And this visit was no different from any other. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent and the facility is nicely maintained and cleaned. It's a sign of a well managed location with a well-trained and efficient staff who care to do the job well!
Love the place overall the best hot dog places I have ever been to I would recommend Ted's hotdogs to anyone
Perfect place if you love quality hot dogs and hamburgers.
Love stopping in when I am in the area!
Love love love this place. They are a buffalo original and continue the legacy daily! Fresh char grilled food made to order. The line is always worth the wait!
Great hot dogs and friendly staff. I highly recommend
Staff was very friendly when we placed our order. While I was placing our drinks on the table one of the cups slipped and loganberry went everywhere. And I mean everywhere! Not only did they come out and clean up the mess I made but they remade our order since it was covered in Loganberry. They didn’t have to do that and I am super appreciative that they did.
Long line on Saturday night. Worth it! Logenberry yummy 😋 No drive thru still worth the wait
Ted's is my go-to place for hot dogs. Hot dogs are grilled over charcoal fire to order. Just tell them if you want them more or less done or the bun toasted; they are very accommodating to your requests. The dogs have great flavor on their own, unlike most places. I usually get the shoestring french fries or the hand-battered onion rings. They occasionally need to be cooked a little longer but not the typical experience. You can always let them know if something is wrong, they'll make it right.
I love Ted's regardless of the location the food is the same quality grilled hot dogs Great toppings. Fries Shakes. Just right. And a good loyalty program. Had a free fry today. Thanks
I don't eat red meat anymore but Ted's makes excellent hot dogs. You can't beat grilled with toasted buns and fixings. Way better than Louis
Order was taken, but the🍟fries were not received. Had to remind the employees. Over $30 for 2 hotdogs, 2 shakes, 1 onion rings and 1 fries.
Great place for a quick get together. Have the chicken breast sandwich or the Ted's double hamburger w bacon and onion rings. Alot of people love the hot doggies as well.
I always like their Sahlen's hot dogs, Italian sausage, and hamburgers. The quality is really good and taste is excellent. Downside is, they are not a cheap place to eat and they don't print coupons like they use to in the past.
The food was good and so was the customer service. The dining room was fairly clean. For those of you who are not familiar with this place there is no table service. You place your order at the grill and pay the cashier when it's done. It's a fairly fast and efficient process.
Ted's food is always good. There is almost never an issue with it and if there is it gets fixed right away. The only complaint I have is the prices went up so much a meal normally priced at 30 was 51.
Onion rings are abundant, but a bit greasier than normal. Hot dog was awesome. Malt was more of a thick shake- bring your own Ovaltine! But I enjoyed this one far more than the other north of here.
Things appear to be streamlined. No more small fries or drinks. Food was great and as expected. Hit the spot on a cold winter night.
I prefer the one on Union. Food is the same wherever you go which is a plus. Staff was just sort of mid here. I get people can have off days but there’s a difference between that and feeling guilty for even stepping foot inside.
Flame grilled hot dog with the fixings reminded me of summer. Hot fresh onion rings fried to a crispy crunch hinted of spring. Ice cold beverage tasted like winters chill. Mac and cheese comforted the soul like a warm autumn sunshine.
I always enjoy Ted's food. My favorite is the Italian sausage with peppers and onions. So nice to be able to sit down and dine. Western New York has been hit hard by covid-19 in that respect.
Food was great tasting and well made. I had a few issues though. When dining in it can take a little bit to get your food when there’s a line. Definitely not the place if your looking for very quick food. Also it can be a tad more expensive then I would like it to be. Food tastes good though and recommend especially if you like hotdogs.
Famous hot dog joint from the 40s. Had a foot long and a Loganberry drink. Threw some cheese and bacon on that dog and went to town. Dog was delicious but I think I would do without it next time though. The Loganberry, as I understand it, is a local drink made with cane sugar. It was pretty tasty. Definitely check this place out if you feel like a hot dog.
I love the food and the staff was efficient. A bit pricey for burgers and dogs but very tasty.
I enjoyed Ted's but I really wanted a foot long hot dog but they weren't selling them due to the lack of buns. That is why I didn't give 5 stars. Plus they changed the fries to straight cut from curley fries. That too is why I gave that score. I will go back once they have foot long buns back. I hope it's soon. I really wish they'd consider bringing back their fries as well. But I will be happy with a foot long. Yummy
It's local tradition... eating charcoal-grilled hot dogs on a sunny summer afternoon. Add some iced loganberry and french fries and you have a snapshot of the season. Ted's has done it one better by bringing summer indoors. Same great flavors and aromas (well, a lot less smoke) that make for classic comfort food in Buffalo NY - but available any weather and any season. The hot dogs, burgers and sausage are, like almost everything here, cooked to order and dressed as you like in front of you at a clean and bright counter. French fries, house-made onion rings or a combo of both are highly recommended sides to your order. Everything served is of uniformly high quality, using a variety of local products and suppliers for a very "hometown" taste. Anyone looking to experience a slice of Western NY couldn't do better than a visit to any local Ted's. This location offers expansive dining indoors, outdoor seating for more seasonal treats and a large, well-paved parking lot. Wide doors and low thresholds make handicapped access possible. Everything looks clean and well maintained indoors and out.
Excellent Service n great quality on food. But 2 hotdogs (no special toppings) 1 potato fry, 1 onion ring n 1 baby size soft drink.. $22.67. Very high cost!!! Have to consider lunch budget n this busts my budget for what I got.
The people taking our order were not friendly. They looked stressed. There cook would not make eye contact.
First off all, hotdogs , amazing. Skip the onion rings or, more accurately, lump of fried onion ring parts. The restaurant was really busy, and there was a pause while one worker needed to restock something, no biggie. My issue was the dude at the register and his complaining about new hires being awful - anyone in line could hear him. Unprofessional, his delivery was so arrogant. Should have asked for the manager, but I just wanted my hotdogs. So hotdogs good, onion rings pass, atmosphere I guess depends on day and work schedule of this dude
We have been going to this location for years and was always pleased. BUT was there yesterday and applaud by the condition of the dinning room; both trash cans were over flowing onto the floor, no napkins in any of napkin holders & floors were black! There was a working (a young man) standing in the area drinking his soda in this area. I did go to the front cook area and reported the mess. Someone eventually came and started to empty the trash, then the young man came out after lady was done. Hopefully they mopped the floors, but I left before then
Ted's always had great food. We arrived just a few minutes before noon. The place was pretty empty and we thought we'd be able to order quickly and get our food quickly as well. Not so. The guy in front of us ordered about 15 hot dogs and some other stuff. One would think that the staff would have another worker help to speed the process along by either helping to fill that large order or start prepping the orders for the people who were waiting behind this guy. Not so. The worker putting the condiments on those 15 + food items took his sweet time. No help from anyone else. I stood there in silence and watched as the painfully slow process unfolded....no apologies...no explanations. Took over 15 minutes and then some for our 3 dogs, onion rings and fries for 3 people. Will not be returning to the Lancaster location again.
Customer service was out of this world fantastic. The hotdogs were tasty and the fries were also good. I did not enjoy the onion rings. They were mushy and greasy.
Seemed rushed while in line, but it's a fast food place. Ordered hot dogs which were good but onion rings and french fries were soggy. Should have ordered them crispy
Michelle was doing her best while the manager (?) was acting like a scatterbrain. He's very disorganized with how he runs the register.
I go to Yesca few times each year and have memories of it always being so good. Today I was definitely. disappointed. The hot dog was very good. My dog Beau has one, too. And he agrees. But. the onion rings were bad enough that I didn't eat them. They were very cold and oily with no salt. The loganberry from the fountain had a weird flavor. Or maybe it was the ice. I have a feeling that it may just be this location which I had never gone to before.
Winter time blues? Great place for a charcoal grilled burger, hotdogs, or chicken sandwich. Prices are a little steep, and the interior needs a serious face-lift. They collapsed their operations down to one grill from two. This has slowed the ordering process significantly. If you're not in a hurry, check it out. If you're on a lunch break, you might want to consider somewhere else due to timing.
Ted's has really let us down lately. Go back to the original Ted's. Why are you closing at 7pm on a weekday. People work till 6 and its summer time. Also 3 people cost $50 bucks. Outrageous. If you are charging $9 for a double cheese stay open an extra hour.
Idk what it is but they don't have footlongs at any teds locations. thought maybe it was just the one.. just walked out, teds without a footlong deserves no business. Scamming with the prices of regular dogs makes no sense to buy 2.. sad as I went there specifically to enjoy a footlong hotdog and you can't find them anywhere.
The food was okay. The tables were dirty as well as the floor. Like, nothing was wiped down. It was pre-pandemic level dirty in there. First time eating at that location, probably the last. It would get a 2.5 stars from me but that's not an option here so I leaned into the 2 ⭐.
Hot dogs were great, but everything else was below average off the shelf fare. The onion rings didn't even have any real flavor.
Love the place and food, but a easy order for their employees is easy to screw up, especially when you are lactose intolerant. Ask for two burgers. Get two cheeseburgers. Told them I can't have cheese and never asked for it. They just pulled off the melted cheese and put on ketchup and bagged them up for my to go order. I was on a lunch break with limited time and threw the burgers out and only ate the fries. This is why I start bringing my lunches to work now.
We stopped in 20 minutes before they close. They had already started to break down there stations so of course the workers were not thrilled we dared to walk in for take out 20 minutes before close. The hot dogs are ok they could not bother wrapping the burger so the hole thing fell apart in the bag. We asked for one order of well done Fries and one order of well done onion rings. Both are under cooked and full and I mean full of oil. I was very disappointed and had to finish cooking the fries and onion rings at home. The most unwelcome I have ever felt and we usually love Teds. But that ruined it for me.
im genuinely confused every time I come here. ive been going to teds for almost 30 years and this location constantly seems to be confused when it comes to basic orders. putting food together on someone else's order. not understanding who was cashed out when. this has happened 4 times. and it always takes way too long to get my order.
Incredibly disappointed. For five dollars you get three pickles the size of my pinky. I don’t know how they’re still in business, every time I go here the quantity and quality suck.
Told the large miserable guy at the grill to please toast the footlong roll TWICE guess what no roll toasted and the girl was just as miserable. Horrible attitudes
We arrived at 7:30pm tonight. No one was in line and we were turned away because there were 8 of us. The worker at the grill, said, "No, I'm not doing it." Then the cashier told us the register was broken and we'd have to order online for everyone in our group. We went to Wendy's across the street, where they took great care of us!
After living in buffalo for nearly 10 years I thought I’d finally give this spot a chance. I tried it today and asked for beef hotdogs though I feel that they were not beef at all. When I took the first bite it tasted different from the start. My kids are one to really enjoy hotdogs yet none of them ate it. My sister also said they tasted weird. On top of that I’ve been in and out of the bathroom all day. Something is not right with this place. It’s either they fed us pork hotdogs after we explicitly said beef or the hotdogs are just nasty in general with the added benefit of some crazy diarrhea. Though I’m glad my body found a way to it expel it out of me.
I won't be back. Normally I love this place. But this time. Was all roll , hamburger was like a hockey puck. Not much meat and hot dog was not like it used to be . Just loaded with onions and heavy potato rolls. Fries and rings all grease. Not even edible. And price was over $20 just for 3 items. I'll go cook em at home.
