A dining experience for all the senses. From the very first course to the final bite, everything was absolutely stunning—thoughtful, intentional, and truly out of this world. Each dish was not only beautifully plated but layered with flavor, texture, and creativity that made every course feel like a moment of discovery. We opted for the drink pairing with our meal, and it took the experience to another level entirely. Every pairing complemented the dishes perfectly, enhancing flavors in ways that felt both surprising and seamless. It was an indulgence that was 1,000% worth it. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere itself stood out. Throughout the dining space, artwork from a local artist is displayed and available for purchase. As a fellow local artist, seeing that kind of support woven into the experience meant so much to me—it added an extra layer of connection and intention to an already unforgettable evening. This is the kind of place that doesn’t just serve a meal—it creates an experience. One we’ll be thinking about for a long time and absolutely can’t wait to return to.

An Unforgettable 15th Anniversary – Pure Magic at Freya! We chose Freya to celebrate our 15th anniversary, hoping for a nice dinner, but what we got was a memory we will cherish for the rest of our lives. The Service: From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, the team made us feel incredibly special. The warmth and kindness of the staff set the tone immediately - they even presented us with a card signed by every team member! It was such a thoughtful touch that went beyond standard service. The Food: Every single course was a journey. The dishes were not just delicious; they were works of art. The flavors were incredibly complex yet perfectly balanced. We loved that the team took the time to explain each dish, which helped us appreciate the intricacy of what we were eating. The Experience: You really have to surrender to the chef's vision here. There were moments where I literally had to close my eyes just to savor the bite and appreciate the hard work behind it. And the dessert? It takes the cake (pun intended). I actually had goosebumps eating it - I’ve never experienced anything like that before, and my wife felt exactly the same. I am honestly surprised this place doesn't have a Michelin star yet. The attention to detail and the culinary mastery are on another level. I am sure Freya will be Michigan's first! Thank you to the entire Freya team for making our 15th anniversary beyond anything we expected.

This place is magic. I don’t think I will ever experience such a wonderful dining experience again. The food alone makes it worth the price, but the service is what really put it over the top. I have never been served by such a caring and attentive team. Their attention to detail and knowledge of the menu completely exceeded my expectations.

Came here for my solo trip to detroit and I’m deeply satisfied that I picked this restaurant for my dinner. Got recommended to it by a friend who is also a chef and it did not disappoint! I always felt anxious about dining in alone but this experience was relaxing and calm. The food was amazing, had good vegetarian options as well. Dessert was my favorite, as a fellow pastry chef! Wine pairings I received were perfect and worked within my budget. Amazing service and amazing food, no complaints!

Made it back to Detroit after a long hiatus. I was in town for the Free Press Marathon which fell on the week of my birthday. I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner and ended up here. The prix fixe menu looked very appealing, as did the tasting menu however, since I decided to dine alone the former was the better option based off the description. The pricing for both was very reasonable imo. I made a reservation stating it was my birthday and the staff accommodated me despite my incorrect selection of seating which required them to contact me. I was given a complimentary glass of champagne and seated very promptly. Although I cannot remember the exact name of the dishes, everything was absolutely incredible. From the house made bread, cucamelon and tomato salad to the 5 courses + additional complementary dish, I can't complain. The taste and presentation was perfect. The vibe of the place was very calm and welcoming, dimly lit, with a great record selection playing in the background. Despite it being cozy and romantic, I didn't feel awkward being alone and in smart casual attire. Only negative I have is they aren't located near me.

Freya delivers an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The tasting menu is beautifully curated, with each dish showcasing creative, well-balanced flavours that feel both innovative and thoughtfully composed. Every course is a surprise in the best way, highlighting high-quality ingredients and refined technique.

No doubt in my mind… this will be Detroit’s first Michelin!!!!! Absolutely AMAZING experience at Freya. Tucked away on an unassuming corner, Freya is the epitome of thoughtful, intentional dining. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth from the hosts, and the small touches, like staff opening your chairs, helped set the tone for the entire evening. We had the pleasure of being served by Hailey and Joseph, two incredibly knowledgeable and passionate members of the team who made the experience that much better!! The tasting menu was divine, and one detail I loved is that you don’t all have to choose the same dishes, which is rare for tasting menus and such a refreshing touch. We opted for the wine pairing, and hats off to the sommelier. Every pour elevated the dishes in ways I didn’t expect; each pairing was SO spot-on. To start, the crudité of pickled veggies and hummus was a bright opener alongside the tastiest bread. Apps followed: a perfectly smoked duck ham with a delicate jam-filled crepe. Then came the oyster mushroom, tossed in a smoked, BBQ-inspired sauce that was so thoughtfully spiced it barely tasted like a vegetable!! The sausage course was seasoned to perfection, and the striploin made for a standout finish before dessert. We ended with a rich chocolate course that closed the night beautifully. Every course really arrived with beautiful, intentional presentation, you can tell the team cares just as much about the visual experience as the flavour. The chefs clearly poured so much intention and creativity into a menu that exceeds expectations. Only small note: the bathrooms could use a bit more frequent attention, as the garbage did pile up at times, but truly, this was the only detail that fell short in an otherwise exceptional evening. Freya is special, and absolutely worthy of the hype.

This was our second time eating at Freya and we opted for the 5 course and wine pairing . Similar to last time, the service and food and drink were absolutely stellar. They're extremely consistent with maintaining a high quality of customer service and a very well thought out wine and food pairing. We will definitely be back!

An unforgettable evening at Freya, easily the most exquisite dining experience in Detroit. We had the pleasure of enjoying a five-course culinary journey, perfectly complemented by their elevated wine pairing. Every course was a masterclass in flavor and presentation, with pairings that elevated the experience to new heights. The service was nothing short of exceptional… gracious, knowledgeable, and so polished you’d think each server was a partner in the restaurant. A truly refined and luxurious evening from start to finish

Perfection! Well worth the cost. Very creative dishes, with so many flavors, beautifully plated. The atmosphere is a very casual vibe, hipster bar, relaxed. The staff was extremely attentive, as one would expect at a high end restaurant, without any pretentiousness. The timing of the service was perfect. Each dish was brought out shortly after we finished the last, without feeling rushed.

We had an opportunity to experience Freya to celebrate an anniversary and the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and interesting, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Every staff member we interacted with wished us a happy anniversary, our server was incredibly helpful in selecting our dishes and we've been talking about the beets and quail since we left. I would highly recommend Freya to anyone!

Absolutely amazing! We made a reservation for dinner for our anniversary and everything from food to service was incredible. The tasting menu and wine pairings were appropriately portioned and priced, cocktails delicious, and we can’t wait to plan our next visit! Food was visually stunning and so delicious. Don’t sleep on the mushroom course! It was my favorite on the menu. We also loved the highlights of local ingredients in both food and wine options. Huge shout out to Abigail, Hank, and Maggie for your hospitality and making our night so special!

We had a phenomenal dinner here for our anniversary. The service was amazing and they made it feel very special for celebrating with them. Everyone took the time to welcome us and ensure everything was great whether or not they were actually serving us. The food was equally impressive with amazing combinations of flavors out of such small and unique plates. After the 5 courses added up, we left feeling full and happy. Couldn't recommend Freya enough.

Awesome experience, well trained and knowledgeable wait-staff, excellent food and drinks. Staff is very attentive and goes well beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Prix fixe menu is well conceived with options for most dietary constraints. Some items portions could be larger was the only ding to an exceptional overall experience.

Freya is easily one of the best restaurants in the state. My fiancée and I finally tried Freya, last night, and it was an amazing experience. We love their sister location, Chartreuse, so we had high expectations. We found some of the best tasting and most creative dishes we have ever had, last night! The oyster was unlike anything I have ever had. I never would have thought to mix white chocolate with seafood. Simply incredible! Other standouts were the cauliflower, mushroom, bass, and lamb. The spinach pie included with the lamb was sublime. We also appreciated the salad and bread course. Great cocktail and wine selection, as well. The service was also impeccable. The entire team is informative, knowledgeable, and attentive. Although expensive, I found the price to be well worth it considering the stellar ingredients and creative planning for each dish. We both left quite full.

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and accommodating service-excellent with dietary requests. Also a nice selection of natural wines. We also got a sweet hand-signed anniversary note!

One of our favorite Detroit restaurants. Amazing food paired with equally amazing service. We love that there are multiple options within each course despite being a Prix fixe menu. We have been here twice and have loved every dish!

Freya really surprised me. We usually don't eat out in fancy places unless it's for special events or milestones in our family. I went here yesterday 4/5/25 after we attended the Detroit Zine Fest. Definitely reserve early, I did nearly a week prior. After having been here, I can see why slots fill up quickly. The food was impeccable and most important of all, memorable. The "Oyster" was truly something else. A piece of art and a culinary delight, like nothing I've ever had. As a designer, I could appreciate the aesthetics. The shell was made of white chocolate dusted in some charcoal coloring and the "oyster" meat was actually a plump scallop. Beautiful presentation, like what you'd expect to see on something like a competitive cooking show. Tasted nothing like I'd expect, but delicious nonetheless. As I said to the waiter, I could eat 20 of these. My partner had the Pierogi (Lake Superior Smoked White Fish, Cream Cheese, Miso-Honey Mustard). As a hater of cream cheese, he really enjoyed it, as did I. My only experience of having had "pierogies" before was from Aldi and it was a sad one. Nothing to compare. For the second course, we had the Brussel Sprouts (Hot Honey, Cumin Aioli, Cotija and homemade tortilla crisps) and Werp Farm Carrot (Red Curry Emulsion, Miso, Toasted Rice, Fukujinzuke). The brussel sprouts were amazing, beautifully charred and drenched in flavor. We both thought it was better than the carrot dish. Usually brussel sprouts are a safe side at most restaurants, but you have not lived till you've tried Freya's rendition. Amazing and packed with flavor, it'll wake you up. Third course, I had the Mushroom (Tonkotsu, Scallion, Sesame, Black Garlic Aioli) and my partner had the Tongue & Cheek (Beef Cheek Croquette), Sauce Zingara, Sunchoke, Truffle). Both were very good though I would've appreciated if maybe the mushrooms could be cut a bit smaller. Presentation again was gorgeous on this one though. The "Tongue & Cheek" had no tongue, just cheek meat, but if you adore a deep rich beefy flavor, wow that Croquette was amazing. The depth of flavor reminded me of barbacoa, marinated and slow cooked meat that has been simmering in the juices and fat for a long time. Good stuff. For our mains we both decided on the Rohan Duck (Parsnip Puree, Mole, Plantain, Hibiscus) though I was tempted to get the lamb. My partner had a rarer cook on his duck which I personally prefer (we should've traded plates), but both were good. The parsnip and mole served as great dipping sauces for the duck and the plantain crisps added crunch. Which reminds me... In addition to great taste and presentation, each dish really explores the textural element with contrast of the ingredients and the cook on them, elevating the dimension of each dish. Lastly, the dessert. I had the Bakewell Tart (Almond Raspberry, Blueberry, Vanilla Raspberry Ice Cream) and my partner had the Lime Cake (Mandarin Curd, Basil Oil, Coconut Whip, Pineapple). On paper, I would've liked the Lime Cake more, but in actuality the tart was even more delicious. I was hesitant because of the almonds. I don't like slivered or crushed nuts in desserts, but this was really good and the nuts were secondary to everything else on the plate. I would advise to try to get a bit out of your comfort zone here. If there's a single item listed in a dish you may not like, go for it, it may surprise you, as it had on more than one occasion for us here at Freya. I wish we had a restaurant like this in GR! Will definitely be back! Though expensive, the price is warranted for the experience, execution, and creativity of the dishes. I was definitely full at the end. They do start you off with bread and salad. The bread and the seasoned butter were amazing but felt the salad could use some work. My partner liked the salad with no complaints but I found it to be very bitter. A roasted sesame dressing or ginger sesame dressing would've made a world a difference. But this is really minor given the experience of all else.

5/5 for food and service and HIGHLY recommend. All of the dishes had so many layers of flavour with each bite and beautifully plated. Each plate was like a piece of art (in addition to being incredibly delicious). Service was top notch as well - the thoughtfulness of a signed birthday card, having everyone who came to our table wish happy birthday, being able to select a song to play as part of the experience, wiping down our tables between dishes, keeping our water glasses full and so much. All of these details did not go unnoticed and truly set this place apart.

Truly incredible! The Lion's Mane mushrooms and coconut flan may be the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Plus - highly recommend the non-alcoholic beverage pairing! Really complex flavors - the tumeric white wine and coconut grasshopper were our favorites.

Freya has a lights out chef's grand tasting menu with extremely thoughtful and expansive pallettes. Courses feature a wide interplay of ingredients with sequential cross-talk and colorful, delicate platings that demonstrate inspiration at every interval. Service is top notch, communicative, and informative. Wait staff worked together in an evocative dance to ensure that all of our needs were met with comfort and luxury. The restaurant is a small dining space with approximately 20 tables on a plane between a square-shaped open kitchen and a large wine service bar with subdued, neutral, post-modern decor and a warm yet industrial interior, charmed with vinyl records played by the maitre d' hotel. My wife and I attended for our wedding anniversary, and upon arrival our table was presented with an anniversary card that was signed by the staff. Each course was dropped to us by two staff members simultaneously, giving graceful continuity to the flow of our dinner. Thanks very much to all the servers, and to Maggie and Sabrina for their careful anticipation and dedication to creating a personalized and super-hospitable experience. Freya is easily one of the best restaurants in the city.

Freya is my ideal of fine dining—visionary, elegant, inventive, with confident execution that is unpretentious and welcoming. The 9-course Grand Tasting Menu with wine pairing is flawless. Each dish is refined, intentional, and impeccably balanced. The progression of dishes is also refined, intentional and perfectly balanced taking the diner on a journey, elevating the experience to the next level. And then there’s the ambiance—cool and effortless. A vinyl collection spinning in the background complete with a playlists guests can make requests from. Freya delivers on its promise: delivering an elevated dining experience without the unnecessary pretentiousness. Ambitous but never alienating. Real luxury is about confidence, not affectation.

Honestly, this is probably one of the best, if not best, meals of my life. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff were on point…I feel like we had 3 or 4 people covering our table, but at no point did it at all feel intrusive…it was just very attentive. The food was amazing and they were nice enough to allow us to order an extra of one of the dishes as one of our party was jealous when they saw it arrived and compared it to what they had ordered. Food was also exceptional, everything was perfectly balanced in terms of flavor profile. I also purchased a piece of art work from the collection they had on display when we visited. Will most definitely be back the next time I am visiting Detroit!!!

Excellent food! Especially when it comes to vegan Freya is the best restaurant I‘ve ever had dinner - even way better than Eleven Madison Park! Great that they offer choices for every course, so you can choose meat, fish, vegetarian or vegan almost on every corse. Excellent job by chef Phoebe and her young, motivated team! The food had a nice umami flavor, great variety of textures and it‘s platted very nicely. The service was very good as well! The sommelier Abigail did an awesome job. Overall absolutely worth the money and for sure I will return. Two hints for improvement: - Keeping and serving the food at the right temperature, several courses where to cold - The acoustics could be improved

Really excellent dinner. Went there with a group of four and all had the tasting menu. It is unique compared to most tasting menus I have had in that you can choose from several options including vegetarian and pescatarian choices. Very creative and tasty dinner. Great to see this in Detroit

Second time, still mind blowing. The sheer creativity of ingredient use and harmonization of unexpected flavors is amazing. The salad was incredibly bright, well balanced and flavorful. Two of us did plant based and one meat. Sweet potato sorbet on grilled pineapple? AMAZING. The bunuelo was so creative and sensational in your mouth. Venison was cooked excellent with a great pairing of flavors. The ravioli was a mega hit. Cannot recommend enough. Service was exceptional too - we are college students but we’re still treated with respect and everything was explained really well. Appreciate the attention to detail of the overall service.

I went to Freya last Saturday with my boyfriend for my birthday and it was such a great night. The staff was on point- super knowledgable about everything on the menu. It felt like everyone who was working that night had come up to our table at some point which was pretty cool. Our waters were never empty and our table was always clean. The staff was really friendly and inviting. They've got a solid team for sure. Hank especially stood out and was able to answer a lot of our questions pretty throughly and we had fun with him. The food is truly extraordinary. The flavors were really interesting and portions just right. The chef is seriously creative. The staff in the kitchen really knows what they're doing and presentation was really pretty. I love the open kitchen concept too- it added to the whole experience and cozy vibes. Freya is definitely worth checking out. It was seriously the best experience we've had in a long time. Well definitely be back!

All courses were delicious. I am omnivore but have been incorporating more plant-dished meals into my diet. The vegan courses were as delicious as the omnivore. I’m not much of a dessert person usually but the olive oil ice cream dessert was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cocktail pairing was inventive and fun. The pb whiskey was my favorite. But most of all, the service was impeccable. The servers moved like choreographed dancers. Amazing experience.

Absolutely exquisite!!! We went for our 5 year wedding anniversary and it was amazing.! Service was top notch! They do lots of little things to make the experience wonderful. They had a heart on the table with the number 5 in it. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary. And they even came over and asked us our wedding song and played it!!! I’m blown away! They made us feel so special! Now the food! Omg every course was delicious!!! The flavors were amazing and presentation was brilliant. They timed every course perfect and everything was in sync! It was so organized and no one was flustered. I am so impressed I cannot say enough good things about this place! Cannot wait to go back!!!

Visiting from LA and Freya blew us away - we just had the ultimate dining experience. Every bite, sip, and interaction w/ the staff was on point to the hilt. The interior is modern, roomy and comfy cozy - the perfect ambiance for dates or dinner w/ friends. The staff is totally into it - everyone is committed to giving you the best experience possible. They are a very tight team. And the food could not have been fresher or tastier - flavor explosions will have your head swaying left and right! Freya is our new favorite restaurant (and not just in Detroit). You will not regret it - worth every penny. Also every course has a vegan option. When you leave you'll be smiling wide cus now you know....

Best dinner experience in Detroit in awhile! The atmosphere is cool & relaxing while still elegant (loved the local artist feature). The staff went above and beyond to take care of us - they even had a signed birthday card waiting for my husband. We were so impressed with their knowledge of the food and beverage pairings. We did the tasting menu, one with wine pairing and one with N/A bev pairing - loved that this was an option! Props to the the chef - the food & presentation were absolutely incredible. Will definitely be back!

Lived up to the hype with excellent service and delicious food. Unlike some other tasting menu places, you get to choose individually for every course. With two people you get to explore 75-80% of the menu and that made the whole experience worth it. Staff here were very friendly and talked us through the menu. What took us by surprise is that everyone who works here signed a birthday card as we were celebrating and everyone wished as they walked by! Overall I would highly recommend this place to go to celebrate any important events and to have some luxurious food!

What an amazing experience. Came here for a birthday dinner and was blown away. Atmosphere: A little loud but very private and tables were not too close to one another. Food: Absolutely amazing. I ordered the chef special. The Kabocha was hands down the best bite of the day. From texture to flavor to spice, nothing can compare to it. Only minor complaint was that the steak was smothered with chimichurri but again, minor negative. Parking: Street parking which was a little shady but car was still there when we left. Price: Nothing is cheap these days. More than I would like to spend but for a special occasion, it was worth it. Service: Best part of the whole experience. Everyone was very attentive and knowledgeable with details about the menu. Overall, 5 ⭐

Holy crap this is the best restaurant experience I have ever had. The food was beyond incredible, the chefs that are making the constantly changing menu are experts at what they do. The service is top tier and so courteous and formal. All in all I cannot recommend this more highly, and do yourself a favor and get the cannelloni if it is still being offered.

This was an amazing experience. The service here is second to none. First things first. As the price indicates, this is not a weekly, monthly, or even yearly place for us to dine, but it was worth it. The staff worked seamlessly together, filling our drinks, bringing our food, and taking our plates. Our food arrived exactly at the same time, every time. The night started with a complimentary toast, which was a bubbly from Mari Vineyards. We then made our food choices, which they paired a different wine. The bread and everything bagel butter we flavorful followed by a salad that had some many different explosions of flavor. The courses were very unique, and each something neither of us had before or would have selected on our own. The portions were small, but by the end of the meal, we were definitely full. My wife, of course, made better choices than me, but none of them were bad choices. My desert was only better because it was paired with an ice wine from Chanteau Fontaine. At the end of the evening, our coats magically appeared in the coat rack near the door. The staff was always just the right amount of present and helpful. It was such a great experience.

By far, my first time dining here last night was my favorite experience in Detroit in the past 4 years. Often times, I feel as though in a gastronomic dining experience, taste is secondary to the visual aesthetic. This was absolutely not the case here, and the food was artwork to the eye and the palette. Everything was flat out delicious. As an ominvore, I found the vegetarian and vegan courses lacking nothing at all and were perfection on a plate. I also loved the atmosphere with original artwork. They also provide you with a musical playlist, and allow you to make a request of what you want to hear while you eat. The open kitchen gives most diners the feel of a chef's table kind of experience. Finally, but importantly, the service was top tier. The servers were all knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly hold hospitality in high regard. I loved every single thing about this place and can't wait to go back again. If I could give greater than 5 stars, I would. I'm grateful to have a restaurant like this in my city.

Can’t say enough good things! This was not our first time visiting but it was our first time in a couple of years. The service continues to be impeccable and is only matched by the quality of the food. The presentation was stunning and everything tasted great. I selected items from the menu I wouldn’t normally order or eat because I know it will taste good and it gives me an opportunity to try something new. Everyone from the first person you see when you walk in, to the team of people taking care of you throughout the meal know how to make the meal enjoyable and know how to go the extra mile. 10/10 will be back much sooner this time.

One of our favorite places in Detroit. Service, food/presentation and ambience is consistently spot on. Branzino, mushrooms, beets, ravioli and both our deserts had amazing presentation and flavor. Service is always consistently great. Water glasses are never empty, each plate is expertly explained. Bread, prosecco and salads were also nice additions. Our go to for any special occasion. Highly recommend!!

We had such a delightful time at Freya. The space felt almost like a modern art gallery. We really appreciated how spread out the tables were and how attentive the staff was throughout the night. This was the best restaurant service staff I’ve ever experienced. The food was delicious but also unique! My fiancé and I each picked different course options so we could share and that worked out very well. The sturgeon appetizer and gnocchi course were my fiancés favorites. I personally loved the Mushroom course and duck confit. The plating was intricate and intentional. Overall, one of my favorite Detroit dining experiences!

Me and my partner went here for dinner and it was truly an amazing experience. We had an 8pm reservation (I highly recommend a reservation for this restaurant.) Our table wasn't ready yet so the host kindly showed us to their sister bar, which is connected to them called the Dragonfly, so that we could get drinks while we waited. They also have a cute lounge area if you don't want to grab a drink while you wait. Once the table was ready maybe 10 minutes after 8pm, the host came back to get us and sat us at our table. We were offer a complementary choice of sparkling wine or a nonalcoholic option to start our experience which I thought was a very nice touch. We also had two servers who could help us which made our service fast and both were very friendly. After we placed our order for all of our courses, they start you with bread/butter and a salad while you wait for your first course. We picked different things from each course so we could share and try each others dishes. The size of the food starts smaller and gradually gets bigger, the sizes of the dishes are good to make sure you are full but we didn't have any left overs. My favorite dishes were course 1- oysters (I ate one so fast before I remembered to take a picture) and my 4th course which, I picked the Steelhead Trout(Get it! Truly amazing). The price for dinner is always the same $90 for the 5 course meal and you can choose to add either a cocktail or wine pairing at $50 to go with that. We opted to just order drinks off the menu, which we were happy with. Overall Freya was great and worth every penny, but you will be spending at least $100 per person so maybe for more of a special occasion dinner or when you want to really treat yourself and others.

My husband and I went to Freya for our wedding anniversary and had such a great experience. Of note: we made a reservation for Friday night and were sat immediately upon arriving. We did the 9-course grand tasting, and every dish was creative, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. The pacing was spot on, the menu flowed really well from start to finish, and we were comfortably full by the time we paid the bill. The staff was excellent, too; very thorough and present without ever being overbearing (which can sometimes be the case with fine dining). It made the evening feel comfortable while still being special and intimate. Overall, it was the perfect way to celebrate, and we’ll definitely be back for another occasion!

We had a very good experience. It's a tasting menu sort of place, but you select 5 dishes. Everything was very nice, original without being way out there. We enjoyed everything a lot. Not a big wine menu, maybe forego the pairing and choose, though the pairing was good. We'll visit again.

It is very rare to go to a restaurant and leave knowing the restaurant is unquestionably worth a 5 star review. My partned and I went for our anniversary dinner. We arrived 5 minutes early and were seated immediately, in addition to being told happy anniversary by every staff member we saw. Every member of the team seemed genuinely happy to be working at Freya and were very enthusiastic and knowledgable about each dish they served. Every dish was unique and fantastic. We had the vegetarian and vegan options and they definitely did not dissapoint. The white bean hummus appetizer was among the best hummus I've eaten. It is a bit pricey ($125 a person), but you are absolutely getting what you pay for. The gratuity was baked into the bill at 22% which was very helpful, and definitely well deserved. The only thing that could be improved (but did not take away any points), would be something to help with noise, as it was occasionally hard to hear the description of the dishes or my partner across the table. I will absolutely be returning and recommending it to my friends and family. Well done, Freya team!

Really wonderful food, atmosphere, and experience. We had the tasting menu with the NA drink tasting menu and everything was phenomenal. So good. Love a prix fixe menu! Food really good but I didn’t like my table too much. Got a table right next to where all the servers man the point of sale system/tickets, fix silverware, etc. It was a little weird because I could hear everything they are saying as they are looking over me and my table.

What can I say about Freya. It may just be my new favorite restaurant. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and everything was perfect. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We had the 5 course tasting menu, we tried a total of 10 different dishes - and I’m not exaggerating when I say every single thing we had was absolutely delicious. The vibes are modern and warm. I wish I could put into words how great everything was. They really go above and beyond we’ll definitely be back.

Substantial tasting menu option, including vegetarian option. I had the nine course tasting. The wine list was impressive with a large number of vegan wines. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. The atmosphere was nice for a stormy Thursday.

Technique was good on each dish and things were cooked properly. Everything tasted pretty good but was just missing something small to bring it up to the next level. Great service and nice environment. For that price point there’s a few other places I’d pick first. 8/10

We had about a 30 minutes in between each course, which were very small portions. The 2 oz of food does not take long to finish, so then you're just sitting hungry for a while between courses. Most of the dishes were very good with the exception of the cassoulet. It had an odd mix of textures, poor flavor, and it coated my mouth in a strange way. Despite the nice atmosphere and wonderful staff, I left hungry and underwhelmed. Very disappointing to pay $95/pp and not be satiated at the end of your 3 hour meal. There's only enough food on each plate to remind you that you're still hungry. Also, they do have a 22% auto gratuity. I generally end up tipping 21-22% since I just round up to the nearest 5, but an enforced gratuity over the standard 20% feels entitled and tacky. I won't be back. Detroit has much better high end options, Freya's next door neighbor.
