My grandson was with me. The sushi was being prepared as we selected our choices. Sushi was perfect. Buffet selections were fresh and appealing. Watermelon especially tasty. Chicken on a stick superb and Sesame chicken tender and seasoned perfectly. Had to describe things as perfect because they were.

Nice restaurant to have lunch or dinner with friends and family. Their food is always freshly cooked,warm, and delicious. I am a huge fan of Hibachi cuisine. Loved the sea foods and soups. I will always recommend this restaurant. Kids love it here, too.

So good, food was hot and fresh. Atmosphere is wonderful in that they play authentic music, very relaxing. Dishes, variety and is fabulous. No other Buffet is this good. They have many stations with alot of different chicken dishes. I do miss the sauteed cabbage which is missing from the selections. I would like to see some pork dishes. They have interesting seafood as well.

Dinner does cost a little more. If you want to judge for yourself go during the changeover time. You will get the best of both worlds. Me prepared for bad 90s soap-opra music as they really love the loud saxophone music.

I met some friends here for the first time for lunch right at noon. I enjoyed my experience. I liked the diversity of people and servers there. I heard Madeiran, Cantonese, Fuzhou, and even some Thai and Korean. I brought my 80+ yr old dad back the next week and here really enjoyed it. He commented that it was the smiling servers that made him feel welcomed. We both enjoyed the food and how hot and fresh it was. We came for lunch at 11:30am. I will be returning.

My favorite go-to. Like most buffets, obviously, they will have a rough night or an overly dead night. Food's always pretty fresh and full of flavo, and their peanut butter chicken is just perfection no matter what. Don't waste your time passing this buffet by, as you will be missing out if you do. And their to go fill yourself trays are super reasonably priced and for 20 bucks or so you can feed about 6 people comfortably

They have recently updated the interior of this place and they upgraded there food and sushi bar for sure, they also now do habachi too!! This is a great family place, not overpriced, food is good sushi is just as good as going to a sushi restaurant. My family and I have been going here for years

I have been to Empire Buffet many times. I am a return Customer because I totally enjoy the variety of foods that are prepared that are always steaming hot and very tasty. The staff seems very friendly and the prices seem to be reasonable for Buffet prices that are out in the market now. One of the highlights of this Buffet is there dessert bar. They have a great variety of great selection of fruits and cookies and pastries puddings pies lots of really great dessert offerings

This is a tasty buffet, with lots of options. Everything I tried was good, and I thought the food tasted better than some of the non-buffet Asian restaurants in the area. Plenty of mains, sides, and dessert options. Service was quick, I never had to wait more than a few seconds for a staff member, they were all on top of their game. Well worth the money.

Empire Buffet is one of my favorite places to eat in Syracuse. It’s a Chinese buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and everything is always fresh and well-prepared. I really love the food and always leave feeling satisfied. Besides the good experience every time, the best part is that the prices are very affordable. It’s a great spot to go with family or friends and enjoy a meal without spending too much. The place is spacious, clean, and the service is friendly. I definitely recommend it if you’re in Syracuse and looking for tasty, budget-friendly food with lots of options.

Good food, and amazing staff. The hostess seated us very quickly, and the waitress was so attentive! She quickly re-filled our drinks and took our plates. They were both so sweet. The food was great! It was very flavorful, and everything that was supposed to be warm was warm, and everything that was supposed to be cold was cold. I loved that they had ice cream. You don't see that at many buffets anymore! It was also very clean. The tables, seats, silverware, and cups were spotless. The plates were still warm from coming out of the dishwasher when I went up to get my food. Overall, it's a great buffet! They also sell beautiful earrings, claw clips, and watches at the front register.

This place always has hot food that's ready for my tummy! They have American food, Japanese food, and Chinese food :-). The staff is always nice and they are fast to bring you a drink refill when your cup looks slightly low, I love it. It's a buffet so it's what you would expect from a Chinese food buffet experience. It isn't the best but it isn't so terrible either. There's some non Chinese options like Pizza 🍕 and Buffalo wings. I recommend because every person with their unique likes will find something. The servers are really fast swapping out your old dishes and bring you your drinks. It's decently clean and overall pleasant.

I was there in the evening (around 7pm) and all the food was fresh, not any delay seating, generally a good experience. Unlike my brother-in-law's stale weekend parties. My only critique is that there WERE NO RED BEAN PASTE SESAME BALLS OMG that's one of my go-to chinese buffet items. Everything else was more or less what you'd be looking for, there's some weird whole crustaceans if that's what you're into I guess. A worthy choice, solid 4 out of 5.

I've been eating at this place for more than 10 years now. They freshened it up with new flooring and furniture recently. I enjoy authentic music while eating there. Food choices are descent but wish they would have a larger variety. For some reason they are holding back. Seafood choices are minimal.

Food was better than I remember. Hot and replenished often. There isn't any service other than bringing you your drinks and clearing dishes. As the name implies - you fetch your food cafeteria style, which is also the nature of the atmosphere. If you don't mind the lack of atmosphere and fetching your food, this is a good place to go to fill up on the cheap. There is usually a coupon in the Clipper for 10% off and if you are over 65 you can get 10% without using a coupon.

Food and service service are both good, as we've come to expect.

It's a toss up sometimes for quality of food. Most days it's good and once in awhile it doesn't sit right with your stomach. But the customer service is great and so is the atmosphere.

Although I was tempted to rate a 5 star there were a few things preventing such. to start the food is absolutely great and the establishment is pretty clean. Each time I've gone there hasn't been a lot of customers in there, yet they seat you so close to other people for no apparent reason. When your in a large group it makes things difficult at time bumping into another family eating. Now again each time not alot of customers and they will have a very small amount of everything out, if your not lucky enough to getting something it takes one or two people to take the small portions they put out. So space people out more and make larger portions to grab from so it's not a waste of time making a plate. I would give 5 stars all day if those couple things were done.

This is the king of Chinese buffets for the Syracuse Area. There is a large selection of all of the usual choices found at one of these style buffets. Expect to consume a large amount of calories. Though I would never go here strictly for the sushi, the sushi bar is much better than other Chinese buffets would offer. There isn't really any food item that really stands out, but all items are at least good for what they are. The service, since it is only the buffet, is quick so you will be eating right away.. The servers keep the tables clear as you pile food on and eat up from multiple plates.

Dinner with family today was a good time to get out of the house.

Large dining area, great service, food is 7/10 fresh and rarely looks like it's been sitting for hours. Very attentive staff who are always coming out and checking the food. Sometimes they switch up some ingredients. For instance I love the baked spinach and cheese dish. More than a few times it seems their spinach was dark and brownish, long and very stringy. Other times it's very green and bright and tastes like it was fresh spinach. I always leave full off one plate and some soup.

They had good food and lots of options but we're extremely overpriced. Saturdays are $15 a person plus drinks and tax. It Costed $75 for 4 of us. That's the most I've ever paid and all you can eat buffet. I do love going to this place but only gave four stars because of price but definitely recommended. They are busy every time we go.

I just came from Empire Buffet. It was pleasant atmosphere. I took my best friend out for an early birthday lunch and her husband.Her birthday is tomorrow. It was time to pay the guy up front at the desk. I believe he is the manager. I also tipped the waitress. I always tip when I go there. That tells you, I go there alot. Not anymore.The guy at the desk was rude. He snatched my money out my hand. I decided not to go back ever again. The guy at the front desk Is always miserable. If you are always having a bad day, you should probably not work there.

We really enjoyed the food as it was hot and well seasoned. Unfortunately despite being there an hour or more the steam clams remained empty. I had an issue with the temperature of the room as it was extremely hot. The bigger issue I had as a sushi lover was that the sushi was not on ice. As a matter of fact the sushi was unmanned and there were hot lights directly on the sushi. This was concerning. Finally the pricing needs to be updated online to reflect current buffet prices.

So, it was a Chinese food buffet. I don't run into many. All the food looked quite nice. They also had stereotypical American food (fries, chicken nuggets, etc). I didn't find any of them anywhere near hot, mildly warm was the best I could call it. Waitstaff was efficient, but they only had to keep drinks full, remove used plates and bring the bill. The price seemed a bit much for what I got but it was still under $20 (I only had water) so I really can't complain much. I would probably go back if I were in this area again and headed out to dinner on my own.

Food : Some food were excellent. Customer service: lacking..in the beginning it was fine and then within few minutes of placing plates. We received check, made us feel rushed. That's not what made it bad. When my brother wanted refill waitress came back and seemed angry/annoyed. I wanted to tell my brother not to ask since she seemed annoyed at cleaning another table. Client in that other table had lots of kids eating and moving to different tables to eat. Waitress came, told him it's $2 for refill of drink(Sprite). She didn't wait for my brother to answer and as she left back to cleaning the same table, she yelled insults in her language. It was an embarrassing situation to say the least. We immediately wanted to leave and did (she was our assigned waitress for that section, I didn't feel comfortable being served by her). The total we paid was $84.13, if you're wondering of price for 5.

Tried this place based on the reviews and it wasn't good. Some of the dishes were dry or rubbery especially the seafood. I have been to a couple of buffet places and teas are either free or for a price but tea being the same price as soda is unusual. I was even ridiculed for asking why the tea cost the same.

We've been looking for a Chinese buffet since our favourite closed down. We didn't love this one. While there was a lot of choices, a majority of it was seafood/fish items. We also found that the items just weren't very tasty. Pretty flavourless and not cooked that well. We went on a Saturday, at 12, and were charged dinner prices. We won't be back

This place food is good depending the time you go but service and prices are horrible. They barely came to my table I had to wait a long time to even be asked if I would like more water. Then they charge based on the number of cups. So my friend got tea and two cups so she was charged for two drinks, but got one kettle of tea. They are very money hungry.

Haven't been here in a couple years. Looks like they did a renovation which turned out very nice! The food wasn't bad, however my family of 4 (two adults and two toddlers) all went to bed that night and ended up feeling extremely sick! Especially me and my son. Spent $70 just to throw up and be in the bathroom all night long (5x) (3x for my son). Sadly won't be back :(

Don’t know where these 5 star reviews are coming from. Food is mediocre. Oh boy. I mean this place was never 5 star dining but it was good for what it was. However, I haven’t been here for years and came for my son’s birthday dinner per his request. All of the food looks like it was made in 1988 and it was cool to the touch. No one ate anything and we got a discount of TEN WHOLE DOLLARS for no one being able to eat. So we essentially set $75 on fire and may end up getting food poisoning. Go somewhere else. Family of 4 went around noon this Sunday 10/13. It was very busy, with even more people coming in. The food was old and not remotely warm enough. This is the first time I've ever eaten somewhere and honestly left concerned that I might end up with food poisoning because of the temperature of the food at the buffet. I will not return, $80+ for cold food, mushy sus seafood? Yes, it was clean and well lit, but cold food is inexcusable.

We thought that the restaurant would be good because of the ratings and the amount of people there . We were very mistaken. To start the 3 panfried dumplings left were burned and hard . When they finally brought more out they were also burned with hard edges .. not as usually golden brown but burned . The pepper chicken was so hard it was inedible . They didn't bring more while we were there so how long was that sitting ? One of the chicken dishes tasted like fish . The Bao buns were cold as were other food . The rice noodles were either over cooked or in the steam pan too long . The pork roast was a loin and so dry it was had to cut so I left it . Even some of the deep fried chicken was so hard it was hard to eat . I have never spit out so much food in a restaurant.. we had to wait far to long for our check so we went to the check out without a check . There was a non fish sushi that was good , the stuffed mushrooms were good and a white coated chicken that was also good . Some of the temperature issues could really be a problem.. we will never ever go back

Brought my family here, was charged 90 dollars for 2 kids and 2 adults, was charged for 4 adult drinks when my kids only received 2 kids drinks, the food was moderate, chicken wings were still raw, broccoli and chicken was rubbery, I use to love this place, after lastnight I will not be returning, this buffet has gone downhill to the point where I had to write this horrible review, dont waste your money here, bring your family to chili's for the same price with better food Will never return!!

I went here for my brother in laws birthday because this used to be my go to place but this time the food was just not good at all. The sesame chicken and general Tao chicken was cold and was hard to chew it felt like it was made in the morning and just left out all day at the end of the lunch I received the bill and it came out to 163 dollars I probably won’t be coming back here anytime soon

We stopped by and had dinner for 4 of us. Food was very sloppy and Buffet serving area was a mess. floors around the buffet were very sticky. Bathrooms were a mess.We recieved our bill and paid cash, We waited for about 10 minutes for the watress to bring back our reciept with change and never came back to the table. She basiclly kept our change and would not bring us back a paid reciept. Not very professional.
