I grew up on E 19th yet somehow never tried this bakery before today. The papas con chorizo was delicious and made me feel like I was at my memas house. Only complaint was that it was underpriced. Half a dozen donuts and 2 burritos for $10. Would have happily paid more or left a tip if the option was available.

Have been going here for 15 years. When every other burrito shop has gone up in price and down in size this place has remained the same in quality. With only minimal increase In price. The pastry sold here are some of the best as well. I always grab a cinnamon donut on the side.

The best brisket burritos and tamales. I stopped for donuts which are far better than the donut shops. A hidden gem in a little corner of San Angelo. By the way ... I don't like spicy hot but if you do they have salsa that you'd love.

Fantastic food! I got there a little later in the day so most of their donuts were sold out but I got a brisket and potato burrito and a cinnamon donut and both were absolutely outstanding. The owner was extremely polite and friendly and radiated positivity and kindness that will make me come back as soon as I can!

Hidden Gem! If you love fresh Mexican pastries this is the best bakery I've found located on Armstrong. There's a wide assortment of empandas ( pumpkin my favorite) cookies, churros so many more choices. Tortillas the best I've tasted, the staff no matter how busy always customers in. Came here and had breakfast, I got a chorizo and egg and a bacon and egg burrito. Both were very delicious and each was enough to feed two people. The tortillas taste amazing and fresh. I plan on coming back for more breakfast and also try the baked goods.

Their tortillas and raised doughnuts are the best I’ve ever had. I’ve also had some of their Mexican pastries and they are also very good. They also have a burrito line with to go items. I haven’t tried that yet but it all looks and smells great. I do buy their salsa/hot sauce every time I’m there and that’s really good. Also, the owner seems like a nice guy and I believe he appreciates everyone’s business. I’ve been treated well by everyone who works there. Give it a try. But once you have their doughnuts you are hooked and no other shops I know of can compete.

The Mexican bread is the most delicious we've tasted in Texas. The Barbacoa is very tasty. The owner and his staff make you feel welcomed! We found what we were looking for, A GREAT MEXICAN BAKERY! May the good Lord continue to bless this fine folks and their place of business.

Pay no mind to the atmosphere. Food is good ..I like the barbaqoa burritos and fresh pan dulce..chicharones on Wednesday are good too..

You will not regret picking up tacos and sweet bread here. In fact, you will keep coming back. When we are in town, we stop here everytime. The barbacoa, brisket, & chicharrones tacos are delicious. They do not skimp on the meat. Tortillas are fresh and homemade daily. We have never had a pan dulce we didn’t like. My favorite is the cream cheese empanada;)

We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised with their food and pastries. My husband got a delicious burrito with fajita and I got a quesadilla & some sweet bread to go. Everything was perfect!!

We were driving through and stopped by for breakfast. All the donuts and other desserts were sooo much better than anything else ive ever had. You could definitely taste the love in in them. The owner recognized we were first time customers and helped guide us through their selection. We also bought burritos made with fresh homemade tortillas that were fantastic. We sat outside on the tailgate and ate our spread. As we ate, people that were driving by were honking as they passed the resturant. It was obvious that this man and his business are deeply appreciated by the community there. My girlfriend took one bite of the burrito and said it was the best she had ever had. We decided to go back in to get more donuts to share at our destination. We also got a stack of fresh tortillas. The owner was very generous with us when we came back in. The whole experience was exactly what I would hope for when stopping at a local business. I would recommend this place highly. 👌

My family has been coming here since I was a little boy running around making amess. Somethings have changed like all business trying to survive in a tough market. But it still holds on to everything great In tradition. I was able to take my father here one last time before we passed away. I father introduced me to this place and I repayed him back with a taste of the past. What a great place! to the family that runs it thx for all you do from the Montelongo family.

Los gallos is a family run business and very well appraised for the authentication and savory food and products they make. They are located in an area that is kind of in the edge of town not very noticeable. They make limited amounts of barbacoa and sometimes run out depending on the amount of customers. The owners are very generous and take great pride in serving our community and seriously do a quality service for the size of the small business. The owner's son is set to inherit the business and start to operate it. They give away the fresh tortillas that are not perfectly rounded and fit for sales. The son will not give away any of the tortillas with defects in shape. He still sells them regardless of the defect. The lesson here is that the father and son don't practice the same beliefs or ethics. Which could affect any business venture to upscale. I have a good report with the father who is a man of integrity and hardworking to provide good quality service.

This is a true hole-in-the-wall Mexican bakery that also serves burritos. The middle-aged gentleman at the register is the only one that speaks English, and the bakery area is cramped, with selection coming from an old wooden china cabinet affair and a commercial sheet pan rack. Los Gallos also has great burritos, top-notch tortillas, the best conchas in town, and is a bargain for what you get. Highly recommend!!!

From the outside it is hard to believe the amazing food that come out of this place. The glazed donut is better than anything I have tasted and tbe buritos are savory and juicy. To wrap it all together the prices just made everything more desirable.

We wanted to try a couple of new pastries, and since we were unfamiliar with the menu, Edgar broke everything down for us. This little restaurant has great food. The service area is relatively small and can get busy, but the food is worth the wait. Went to grab some pan on a rainy day last week and it was fresh out of the oven. It was delicious and soft, perfect for a rainy day. Service was quick and friendly.

They open at 6am, great place to pick up some burritos for breakfast or fresh baked bread. Well worth the wait homemade flour tortillas.

Overall it was good maybe a little on the greasy side but need to go early to get a better selection.

The food is ok. Not happy that the person who was serving us had no gloves on the entire time she was making tacos and burritos. I understand that people wash their hands, but this is a pandemic. Wear food prep gloves please.

So aside the location in this this little ol building on a corner with very limited parking this place has decent breakfast burritos to go (theres no dine inn) and bread as good as anybody elses. It has been under same owner for a good while he hasn't really made many changes it stays original. I like to stop by and get a quick barbacoa burrito and a drink for me & my son every other time we haul livestock since it's conveniently on the way and it hits the spot every time.
