The food is amazing! The German potato salad had just the right "bite" to it. The sausage has a masterful blend of flavor. I wasn't sure which beer I wanted to have with my meal, but our waiter saved me with one of their German draft suggestions. It was the perfect compliment to my sausage plate. The waiter was supremely patient with our indecisiveness and had knowledgeable answers and suggestions for all of our questions. Overall it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in quite a while. I can't wait until our next trip through so I can sample more of their amazing offerings.

Ahhh... German food is comfort food for this Krautfrau. I had the Jaeger schnitzel, German Potato Salad, and sauerkraut, with a side of Chardonnay. Heavenly. Peggy had the potato soup and goulash with a side of Cab and she said it was delish. We're here for two nights, and I intend to eat here again!

We ordered the Jager schnitzel and German meatballs with Hofbrau Helles for beer. The food was definitely better than the other German restaurant across the street. The theming is nice but I think the other German restaurant edges them out in that department.

We loved this restaurant! The service was awesome and the food was excellent. There was no wait time and we were given a choice of tables. We chose the open windows, which was nice and airy. The decor was fitting for the restaurant and really reminded us of the renaissance. We will definitely return!

What a great place to come chill and have some great food. Our server was amazing. The fried mushrooms were the biggest best appetizer ever. My dish was delicious. The meatballs were so good. I love coming here. It was such a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more delicious meals. This made our Fredericksburg experience wonderful ❤️

We enjoyed our time at The Auslander, we go to Fredericksburg a few times a year and try different restaurants, glad we tried this one. Service was awesome, and food was great. The dinner rolls are quite notable, they are very good.

Had great meal. Great Tex-German jalapeño cheese sausage. It was really nice. Kraut was good too. Potatoes and bread was good/normal. Good beer (I like Warstiener). Kids chicken was spot on too.

I really enjoyed the potroast and mashed potatoes. We also got the potato pancakes which were pretty good. I tried my hubby’s chicken and it was yummy. The atmosphere in the dining room is so so. They have a couple of pretty paintings and some neat cuckoo clocks.

Our experience at The Auslander was great! We had really quick and great service. The pimento cheese appetizer was a must! Both the sandwich I got and the schnitzel my boyfriend got were great. Huge portions!

We ordered the Schnitzel Wiener Art and the Bratwurst platters. We chose red cabbage and the German potato salad for one of the entrees and sauerkraut and potato salad for the other entree. The sides were just average. Both plates came with a warm dinner roll and some butter. The Schnitzel was nicely breaded and fried to a golden crisp. The pork cutlet was a generous portion and tasty. The bratwurst was also a large portion but was somewhat bland. A few packets of Gulden mustard were offered. Some mustard made in-house would have been a nicer touch. They had a decent selection of beers and wines. We got the H.P. Dunkel on draft and a glass of red zin, both of which paired nicely with the meal. We were too stuffed to have any dessert but they do serve apple strudel and German chocolate cake. The service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was rustic but comfortable.

Started with “Old World" Potato Soup, which is a fancy term for a bowl of soupy substance with a few breadcrumbs. Tasteless. The overpriced bratwurst was barely warm and hadn't been grilled/”braten” but had come out of lukewarm water and was accompanied by canned red cabbage. After reporting this the "wurst" bratwurst ever was replaced with a warmer one that didn't have much flavor either; the included mustard sachets should do the trick.
