Pedimos de entrantes mejillones y calamar a la plancha , tenían un sabor brutal y se notaba que eran frescos !!!! , también con el entrante pedimos pan con alioli y tomate . Y pues para comer una paella de marisco que estaba buenísima y excelente . Lo recomiendo demasiado , no os arrepentiréis , además nos atendió un chico muy amable . Todo genial . Se merecen 5 estrellas !!

Hemos ido muchísimas veces al restaurante Mateo y siempre salimos encantados. Las paellas están riquísimas, con muchísimo sabor, y además las preparan bastante rápido para la calidad que tienen. Los entrantes también son deliciosos, frescos y caseros, y el servicio es siempre súper atento y eficiente. Da gusto encontrar un lugar donde cada visita es una experiencia perfecta. Sin duda, uno de nuestros sitios de referencia en Valencia para disfrutar de una buena paella.

Llevamos varios años ya viniendo para el día de Navidad y, un año más, la comida ha sido de categoría. Muy buena calidad, tanto de las tapas como de la paella de verduras y bacalao. Los postres no se quedan atrás. Muy recomendable.

Muy buena opcion por la albufera! Fui recomendado y salí encantado! La llisa adobada, el allipebre y el arroz negro perfectos. Todo acompañado de pan recien tostado, all i oli casero y tomatito rallado. Carta de vinos variada. En cuanto al servicio, es cierto que tuvimos suerte de ir un dia tranquilo, pero muy hospitalarios y predispuestos a recomendar. Para repetir sin dudarlo. Calidad precio 9/10

Me ha encantado el lugar. La comida buenisima. El arroz espectacular. Buenisimo Muy recomendable. Hay q probar el allipebre, es una receta muy distinta a otras, q no existe en España fuera de esta zona, muy muy tipica de esta zona. Ligeramente picante con pescado bueno, me ha parecido sobervio el guiso. Han sido muy amables. Y es cierto que ha tocado esperar tres cuartos de hora al arroz, tal como cumplidente han advertido. Pero no es ningun contratiempo cuando la espera la haces con este peazo allipebre y con un pa amb tomaquet de primera. Decoracion sencilla y bonita. El precio razonable, 40 euros cada uno sin alcohol. Grande el sitio de verdad. No hemos reservado. Pero creo q hemos tenido un golpe de suerte. Maria, 46 años, madrileña.

Very hospitable host, couldn’t do more for us. We had some lovely mussels and bravas with a salad and some bread. Cheap and lovely food! Would highly recommend! The paella looked amazing.

I visited from out of town and my Valencian friend (and restaurant aficionado) highly recommended going to Restaurant Mateu for paella. The guy who served me was a kindly man who speaks English and he provided great service. I had preordered the chicken and rabbit paella when making a lunch reservation and he confirmed my order (without needing to check his records) when I reached the restaurant. Being a solo traveller, it was very difficult to order paella in the parts of Spain I visited because most places will cook it only if you have at least two people in your party. But Restaurant Mateu kindly cooks single portions for solo guests, which I really appreciated! The paella was delicious. The chicken and rabbit paella uses simple ingredients and tasted like comfort food. Because it was so good, I decided to order the black rice paella for takeaway to have for dinner in the evening. And it was even better than the chicken and rabbit paella. I loved its squid and prawny flavours. 😋 Thank you for the wonderful experience and food!

The best spanish food we have had in all of Valencia and Barcelona! On our first visit to Spain we have tried to each as much traditional spanish food as possible. so far my wife and I have been in for here for 11 days and the: - croquettes de queso and jamón - paella valenciana - pan con tomate - cheesecake Have been the absolute best we have tried. This location is a must if you are visiting for a boat tour. Along with the wonderful food, the service was incredible, very attentive and friendly. Maria and David were great.

We ordered black rice paella and calamari. They were both delicious. They gave us free cakes at the end of the meal! The waiters were all very polite, and they helped us fill our water bottle. They have an English menu, too. I don't know what happened here with glasses and a girl's foot as seen in the lower rated reviews, but in our visit, no feet were harmed, but our bellies were happy! Highly recommended to visit if you're in the El palmer area.

When in Valencia, you need to try the paella and this is your place. Super friendly service. For 5 we ate: - entrees: Allipebre & esgarrat - arròs negre (3 portions) - paella with chicken, duck and rabbit (2 portions) Everything was super tasty and they brought as biscuit and liquor shots of rice and mistella. You can’t miss it!

After having tried all the best restaurants in El Palmar for a reservation, this was the only place that had seats available. Quite skeptical at first. The sangria was too sweet but then came the pan and tomato with garlic aioli and it was amazing, followed by Tellinas and stuffed mussels, which were both very good. The seafood paella and the chicken and rabbit paella were excellent. Overall a great experience, service and some very happy tummies.

Restaurante tranquilo y acogedor que destaca por su excelente calidad de comida y ambiente. Deliciosos entrantes de bravas y pan con alioli. La paella de verduras fue sabrosa, aunque se habría apreciado un socarrat. Los postres son increíbles, especialmente la exquisita crema valenciana. Aunque olvidaron traer una botella de agua, la atención fue muy buena. Para finalizar, nos ofrecieron licor de arroz, brindando un cierre delicioso a la experiencia después de disfrutar de un café de calidad.

Brilliant Valencian/Mediterranean food and really wonderful service, staff is very friendly. However it is awfully large and has a loud atmosphere. It feels like a canteen. Not pleasant when you arrive and not somewhere to go if you want something intimate.
