Omar helped us organize 2 luncheons. There was a mix up on the 2nd occasion but the staff and Omar came through and saved the day. Everything was phenomenal.
Every time we go is because they have the best Menudo...I'm sure that everything is good maybe next time I'll try something else
One of a kind unique experience. Not only did I have the privilege to try great tamales, caldo de res, delicious TRUE Angus fajitas. I met two of kind individuals Mr . Omar Apodaca father and son who have made a major part in this unique family buisness. It was very inspiring to hear Son speak about his parents stroy in how the family buisness has served the el paso and Juarez community for many years becoming a legacy over the El Paso metropolitan statistical area. I highly reccomend this spot. I went on a Thursday morning around 11AM. All the staff was friendly. Shout out to Alex whom I also got to meet and is doing a great job gaining experience in the food industry. Keep up the great work. I will most definitely BE BACK! 😊
The staff is welcoming and wonderful! The food was on point, delicious and did not disappoint. Generous portions so you don't leave hungry. The music they were playing during our visit was pure nostalgia. My family and I absolutely enjoyed, loved and highly recommend this restaurant.
Menudo of pretty awesome, very consistent in their taste. I've always gone there for the menudo, I've never had anything else on the menu but I'm sure it taste awesome. Be aware this place is extremely popular so if you go make sure your entire party is there and be ready to stand in line. It gets like that every Sunday because its that good. Service is awesome and quick especially if the entire table orders menudo. The atmosphere is pretty good depending on the time there will be live music.
Friendly waiter was super fast and brought me exactly what I need - menudo grande. Was very rich in taste and not spicy at all. Strongly recommend this soup especially after hangover, although I didn't drink anything but refreshing orxata all day. What I especially love at this authentic place are restroom signs. Can't miss your gender.
Their "special" really is special. Asado de puerco is very good. Just as advertised. The server whom I asked about the dish described it "to a t." Did not disappoint at all. Very few "authentic" Mexican restaurants in El Paso. May not be as good as my suegros asado but truly authentic and delicious.
I am so glad that I listened to my uncle when he recommended me eat here. I went on a Saturday around noon. The wait was less than five minutes. We ordered and then sat down at our table. They had fresh orange juice so we tried one. It was pretty good. I ordered a small menudo and Juevos rancheros. Oh man I am so glad that my mouth tasted all these wonderful flavors. My fiancé is from Houston and they eat their menudo with cilantro and tortillas lol so I made him try it with oregano and bread. He actually loved it. He also got barbacoa tacos and he was impressed. The service was fast. The food was hot and it came out quick. Paying was easy and overall was happy with everything,
My husband and I are from out of town, and when a local recommended this place to us, we were excited. And they did not disappoint! The food was fantastic!!! We ordered 3 flavors of tamales, all of which were rich and delicious, and we ordered the mole and the choriqueso which were great too. We didn't have too long a wait despite them being busy, and everyone there was kind and helpful. The next time we're here, we'll definitely be stopping by again 😉😁
The food was absolutely amazing! This was our first time there. Josie was a wonderful waitress. We tried the cheese, chicken and Colorado tamales, menudo, and the lunch special with chile Verde. It was all amazing. The aqua de melon was also very good. Definitely would recommend and go again when in El Paso. The chips and salsa were also wonderfully tasty.
The food was good. The service a little slow and disregarding. Another server was nice enough to assist.
La choza is great. At times the menudo is awesome, other times it is served not warm. The tamales are good usually but last one we had was on the dry side
I stopped here. Just in town for the night. Food was pretty good. But the service lacked. I took my food to go. No utensils, they didnt add the toast just overall blah service. Luckily I had utensils in my truck. Otherwise I would be out of luck.
This was on a Friday at 0215 pm. First time here from Dallas. I wanted some Mexican food as DFW has none and this place had good reviews. However, walked in and took time to get serviced even though there were no people. Ordered comida corrida as it’s advertised from 11-3. Lady immediately said they had none, so thought that was weird. So I opted for tampiqueña, to find out 5 min later that their meat order wasn’t delivered yet. Lady wasn’t too apologetic either, didn’t seem like they wanted our service. Came to Los 3 Gallegos instead.
Don't bother, it's not worth your time or trouble. Limited menu of not authentic Mexican food(no flavor), not even 'comida corrida'. The place smells like a pest fumigated site. There are better places in El Paso Tx. than this if you're looking for Mexican food.
I would give zero stars if possible, horrible service I watched as my menudo was put on the bar ready to be served but was left there by the waiter to get cold for about 20 min. Overrated for sure don’t know why they even got a line for some mid food.
My first time having tamales from this place, and this will be my last. Tamales are disgusting, so dry, awful taste, the red tamales were so messy all around. I don't recommend this place.!! Tamales 🗑️🚮
If you want the better service, bigger portions, and best food, go to la choza on Montana. Their tamales here are the size a hot dog wiener. Got a burrito and the same thing. Food is already too expensive to be shorting us out as well. Even if you order to go or dine in, it's a 40 minute wait on Sunday morning.
Yesterday, Monday, the 20th, @1:55pm, I had the most unfortunate experience at La Choza restaurant on Zaragoza st. I've been going to this restaurant for many, many years and I have ordered the same delicious plate (flautas) every time. Every time the multiple different take out servers have always treated me nice and they have always filled my plate with a good and fair amount of beans, rice and lettuce/tomatoes the same as if I was eating there. They have always provided 2 creams and 2 guacamoles for each plate and when I requested one more of each, the server summoned the cashier over (Kimberly). Before I had the chance to tell them both that I was willing to give them a good tip or to just charge me the required amount; the cashier got very hyper and went on and on that they only gave one little cream and one little guacamole cup per plate. I told them I have always gotten 2 cups per plate and the cashier just wouldn't stop arguing with me. I only get 1 cup of each. I also showed them the small amount of beans and rice and lettuce and tomato I was getting and to prove it, I showed the amount of beans on a plate they were going to serve in the dining room; it was double the amount they served me. Literally everything on my 2 flauta plates was so decreased this time and I also had to tell them that my flautas have been sitting there on the counter for a long time getting cold while the server served another lady's take out before me. The lady arrived 5 minutes after me and she got her take out first. When you go to a restaurant for years and order the same plate, you learn what the correct meal portions are. This whole ordeal certainly ruined my appetite and my birthday. Needless to say, I'll never return to La Choza again. I just to come home to, so when I called to talk to the manager, I forgot they never, ever answer their phone.
