As a visitor from Chicago and in town for a few days, I asked a friend where I could get some good food. He was quick to answer, “Rivas on Zaragoza”. I tried their steak and eggs burrito with hot sauce on the side. Their menu was intricate, but the cashier was incredibly helpful, walking me through it, answering all my questions, and even suggesting his favorite. I trusted his recommendation, and he was spot on. The inside of the restaurant was clean and spacious, reminiscent of a popular Baja Cali/Mexi Cali spot on the West Coast, but with a distinct EPT twist. I also ordered the Carne Asada Fries, which were better than expected—quite a feat since my expectations were already high. This place is fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can swing by on Monday and Thursday nights to catch a game on their TVs, enjoy a draft beer, and savor some great food. Highly recommended! Check this place out. Come alone, with a friend, or with your family—either way, you won't be disappointed.

Went here by myself for dinner while visiting the area. Had carne asada burrito which was possibly the best burrito I've ever had. The meat was seasoned and cooked very well, and large portion of meat. I'm glad I didn't order anything else! It was a clean place and the service was fast. Would definitely recommend!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of El Paso. Delicious, not very costly at all, and very generous amount of food. I've been coming here for 6 years and it has never disappointed me with customer service nor the taste of the food. I recommend everyone to give it a try, the breaks fast burritos, desserts, and tacos are to die for as well. Check them out!

Definitely come here if you want a good selection of loaded fries. I ordered the Buffalo Fries, which were very good, and the portion was extremely generous. I recommend having 2 or 3 people to finish one order. I asked what burrito they recommended and was told that the California Burrito was the way to go. It was good for sure, but I don’t think it stood out in any extraordinary way. The steak was a little dry inside. Otherwise just a normal pretty good California Burrito. If I went again, I’d probably try some of their tacos. The atmosphere is pretty standard, but very bright inside. It also looked like there was a small bar area. The service was good, everyone was friendly, but again nothing extraordinary stood out. I would go back sometime, as I didn’t really dislike anything. However, there are many other restaurants in the El Paso area that can deliver the same food just as good, and some even better. I think 4 stars is fair since the experience was good overall. I just wish it had something extra that made it stand out. Give them a try for yourself! Definitely a solid place to come if you just need a good reliable Mexican experience.

The food at Rivas is not only unique but very good and great portions. The steak fries with guacamole and salsa were definitely a hit. Now the smothered burrito in enchilada sauce was a very delicious and BIG burrito definitely recommend it. Great staff as well check them out.

Really looked forward to trying , once we hour food we noticed how dry our burritos were. We ordered the cali burrito and the hot Cheeto burrito along with the buffalo fries. Was expecting a bit more of a flavorful bite but everything was a bit bland. Willing to give it another try in the future though

I’m sorry. I usually don’t do this but this was crazy. This was $11? How? It’s mostly tortilla, and a very thin one at that. We got 3 burritos for the 3 of us and it was $30+. That’s crazy. I like the food and the concept but the prices are too high.

Carne asada fries are my favorite food, so many places do them well. Riva’s must have a meat shortage, because they barely put any asada on my fries. This is the 3rd time I got them because the first time they barely put meat I thought maybe it was just an off day. They actually always put small amount of meat. Also their cali burrito always has a lot of extra tortilla like they don’t fill it up all the way the same way the do in cali. I had to rip off the extra tortilla cuz the first 2 bites were just tortilla only

I have been here a couple of times, have always ordered same burrito, buts with different price?? .. today horrible experience on my California burrito .To start it had a hair almost 2 inches long it was cold an tortilla was hard to chew!! Fries look soggy an dry , not enough carne Asada for it to worth $15.15 NEVER AGAIN!!

If you like your to be hot when it's brought to you, this is not the spot, food was room temp, not even warm meat had good flavor but tuff. If you are a picky eater have in mind even if you request no sour cream no pico you plate will end up having everything you asked them not to add.

I looked a place we're they had California burrito so it took me here to this place. The price and portion was not good I paid 15.50 for it you could get 3 burritos for this price at valentines bakery. The only California thing a bout this burrito was the price huge tortilla for nothing. The salsa was very watered down .

Ordered the family pack for $60. Food was cold, the flautas were super hard. Very little meat. Rice and beans were salty. The salsas were watery. I’m sorry I never really complained but when you have such a bad experience you have to let them know hopefully the cooks do a better job.

I have been coming here for a little under a year. I always order the carne asada fries, but decided to go with the buffalo fries this time. The chicken was super tough and tasted like reheated food. The fries were also hard, almost like they were fried more than once. Sadly, I will not be back. Better of ordering Nuggets and fries from a fast food chain for the same price (13 dollars).
