Hands-down one of the best places to eat breakfast here in Los Angeles. The service and the cooks and the overall environment is very much amazing. If you love vintage music and a vintage environment with great prices and unique delicious food, this is the place to be. We enjoyed this place from the time we walked to the time we left and the service was impeccable. Even though they only had one waiter, it felt like they had 100. He was so attentive and service is fast and delicious. Again, we will be coming back!
I ordered bowl of chili soup. They offered onions and cheese to go with it. The atmosphere is old school. The counters are Formica. The taste of the $3.25 coffee reminds me more of Starbucks and less of Two Guns coffee shop. That’s just fair; considering the price bracket. The whole experience (chili and free flow coffee) was $16 total. That’s including tips. It got really busy around 11:45 am. I vacated my bar seat for a customer who really wanted the seat.
Wendy's Place in El Segundo radiates small-town charm, complemented by friendly service and a cash-only policy that adds to its unique appeal. The French Toast truly hit the spot with each delicious bite. The experience is elevated by the use of porcelain plateware and coffee cups, adding a touch of elegance to your visit. Convenient parking, despite occasional busyness, makes it a must-visit spot for those seeking both nostalgia and a satisfying meal!
Great bfast spot. Always fresh hot food. Service is great. Coffee is best in the city. Jose is a gem!
Great comfortable place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. Place is small so expect to wait. The food is very good and the staff if great and very attentive. I was there before it opened and waited outside with a few of the regulars who were al great people. The only drawback in my opinion were the small coffee cups but as stated before the staff was very attentive and never had an empty cup.
A very good local South Bay country diner that is cash only. All diners to me are either the traditional retro diner or a country diner and this definitely counts as a country diner to me. It’s fairly small on the inside so at busy times there may be a wait. Being a country diner their menu is more limited compared to some other diners but they have a lot of homey classics. Our server was very polite and everything we ordered came out pretty quickly. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot but it’s easy to find street parking or there is a parking structure on the same block with free parking, which is where we parked. Their coffee is very good and strong so I would recommend ordering that, I chose to start my meal with it. For our dishes, we ordered the Eggs Benedict and substituted a sausage patty instead of ham and the Pancake Special. The Eggs Benedict was actually very good and the sausage was a great addition. The eggs were cooked perfectly and overall it was a very good dish. The pancakes were also very nice and fluffy, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal even though I tend to avoid cash only places. Aside from that everything else was great and the pricing is fair so I would recommend it to anyone searching for a great breakfast or lunch option.
Not too many places around like Wendy's. Breakfast to lunch time. You won't be disappointed by the service or food. Just bring CASH because that's how they've been for years. It reminds me a time that is slowly going away. Thank you Wendy's!!
Wendy's Place is awesome! Hard to find a good old school diner like this these days. I had dropped off a friend at LAX early in the morning and was hungry and needed a bathroom before sitting in rush hour traffic back to Pasadena. A quick search for an open diner near me lead me to finding this gem. The man working the dining area was very nice and welcoming. I wish I had gotten his name. The whole place was comforting and welcoming, comfortable booths, wood paneled walls covered in faded and yellowed Norman Rockwell and Saturday Evening Post artwork. Everyone in the place seemed happy, from the staff to the customers. There was a group of 3 or 4 older gentlemen, regulars and definitely old friends, scattered around the place that were chatting and giving each other a hard time in that way only a good friend can (it was hilarious). The food was great, the coffee was strong and never ending, The server tried to send me off with a big to-go cup of coffee but I had already had more than my fill of caffeine for the day. In other words, I loved this place and can't wait to go back. Almost tempted to move to El Segundo just to be a regular at Wendy's Place. ❤️
Love this local, cash only diner. Get there before 9a on the weekend or prepare to wait. The service is efficient, but the secret is out and the people know this place is serving up the good stuff. Service is great and so is the food. Like any proper diner, there's something for everyone. From the servingware to the overall atmosphere, Wendy's has charm to spare 🙂
No credit cards. Smallish, kind of dark diner vibe with a long counter, some booths and a few tables. Friendly service. Since it wasn't the weekend they didn't have biscuits, so I got the Reuben sandwich with home fries. Lots of choices for the side. The Reuben was everything that a Reuben should be. Hot crispy rye bread, lots of tasty pastrami, thoroughly melted Swiss, sauerkraut, and sauce. Generous portion. Also generous portion of home fries, fried crispy with nice char. Prices are significantly higher than portrayed on the menu views. What do you expect?
Seriously the best breakfast place anywhere in the US. Every time I come to LA for work I make sure to eat here every morning. It's CASH ONLY so don't be that person that isn't ready. Sit at the bar if you can. I wouldn't say the service is the fastest, but they're super nice and get your order right the first time. There's off menu items too, like the breakfast sandwich so if there's something else you want, just ask. I love this place, and I'm constantly searching the US for a breakfast better than this.
LOVE, LOVE, Love this place. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large and soooo yummy. CASH only, breakfast and lunch diner. Chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, eggs, good coffee.......it's all worth the wait outside :) they have chairs out there. SORRY no pic of my cfs...I scarfed it lol.
Amazing breakfast, great service and prices are the lowest in the area. Omelettes and French Toast are delicious. We also had the grilled cheese sandwich and it was very good. If you are lucky enough, you will get Sofia as your waitress and she will make sure are well taken care of.

50's style diner with excellent comfort food, great taste. My family and I love this place. It's cash only, but don't let that stop you the prices are very reasonable. It is well worth the effort.
I was looking for something with a lil more comfort and filling for breakfast while at work. Ran across this lil gem on some research like a couple days prior, and then I pulled the trigger one day and oh my. Tbh it doesn't even seem like it belongs on the block, but it isn't going anywhere, anytime soon! Quaint lil joint tucked on the block, you walk in you get an instant cozy vibe. Like a place where people are still people. One of those places where everyone know everyone. I'll be a regular soon. Food was hot and fresh, delicious, seasoned to perfection. They take cash, but also have a zelle and venmo option which is pretty cool, especially for a place like that. You can tell they're dedicated to the people and giving an overall good experience. I'll be back.

Loved this place, the atmosphere, its a cozy cafe and a nice place to go, the waitresses were nice and the food was amazing, definitely coming back.

This was like a step back in time! The food was amazing and this diner is an untouched gem! From the music, to the inside of the restaurant I would recommend this place 10/10 to anyone looking for a great breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict and hash browns

Best "old school" diner in the Southbay. Been a customer for 40 + years. Wendy's Place is truely one of the few remaining classic cafe's (with stools at the counter) remaining in the area, the wait staff is made up of charming locals.Highly recommended that you expierence how Los Angeles was in the 50 and 60s.

First time here and order a Joe’s Omlet and it was decent. Nothing spectacular but good. The menu is a bit limited for breakfast, so ended up getting just something basic. The portion size was a little smaller than I expected but it was OK nonetheless, not sure if I would go back for breakfast again.

Most customers seem to be long time locals which is cool. The food was basic for what was ordered. My husband did not like the bacon he said it tasted like old oil and a cup of milk that is smaller than the water cup costing $5 is almost what I would pay for a gallon.
A restaurant with its own vibe and a really cool diner atmosphere, which I found really good. We arrived just in time to not have to wait in line. The prices are definitely affordable for LA so that was good to see. But, for me, the food wasn’t worth it. My omelet was just okay. And, the hasbrown, not really cooked and bland. The meat had a bunch of fat. The food quality wasn’t really there. However, we did really enjoy the French toasts. They were pretty good. Overall, a cool spot but the food didn’t meet my expectations even for that price.
