Had parked in the Crack shake parking lot then pulled up menu saw the prices so I walked across the street to in n out but the line was at the door with one cashier. I can take an hr lunch but not for a burger. Was able to order my sandwich and eat it in my car in less than 15min yes it was that good I gobbled it.
Best gluten free fried chicken I’ve ever had and solid fried chicken in general. The crunch and flavor is everything you’re looking for and most of their delicious sauces are GF too. The ranch in particular is superb. My only gripe is they only serve bone-in chicken gluten free - so you can’t get tenders or nuggets or anything. You also can’t get their fries because they fry them in the gluten fryer (I don’t know why? Seems like they could fry them in the GF fryer and then everyone could have them?)
Been to both locations. They cook their food constantly that I didn't notice any difference. Fantastic fried chicken even hearing up left overs in the toaster oven it's still delicious. Only thing I'm sad about us that they don't have the chimichurro sauce any more. Their fries are perfectly crispy. Then toss in an order of jicama salad and you have the perfect meal! I also like that they have a patio for people who bring their furry friend.
Take out order for my family. Had the Cali Drip! All I can say is 🔥🔥. I took the chance and man was I NOT disappointed. Every flavor came together to form a delicious sandwich.
First time at this location, very easy to find and plenty of parking...been to the little Italy location and I usually have a hard time finding a spot to park..food is pretty good, loved the fries..the drinks are pretty good as well..they have a friendly staff, definitely would go back!
Crack Shack is my go to for a banging chicken sandwich, high quality food, never had a poor experience there, staff is nice, sauce game on point, the pineapple mustard is my go to, perfect blend of sour and sweet, pairs well with the fries and the chicken. Soda choices are a breath of fresh air. Very cool idea to be able to sub grilled chicken for fried. Downward dog also very fresh and a nice second option for me, depends on my mood that day (Pictured is the Señor Croque, the fried egg on top rounds out the sandwich so well)
I got the Señor Croque and if you’re a fan of chicken, bacon, and a runny egg it’s a perfect sandwich. The fries are also fresh and well seasoned. Highly recommend!
Truly dog friendly. What a wonderful place. Easy to find and get to. Very open restaurant. Food is good. I had the firebird sandwich which was quite spicy and delicious. The fries are really good. Natural cut, but not soggy like the majority of places. These are wonderful and crispy. Lots of dipping sauce for chicken and fries. Also, a great assortment of soft drinks. Dogs allowed inside and out on the patio.
Hit up Crack Shack to go, I ordered the Coop Deville (fried Jidori chicken breast, pickled fresno chilies, lime mayo, napa cabbage, brioche). Also got the Firebird (spicy fried Jidori thigh, cool ranch, crispy onions, pickles, potato roll). To be honest both sandwiches were really nice but I did enjoy the Coop Deville slightly more. Also ordered a side of fries which was nice. Lots of really good stuff on the menu that I would like to try in the future.
Recently traveled to solona beach for a week and our group made two trips to this restaurant. The food is unbelievably delicious, reasonably priced, cool decorations, clean and the people are so nice. They make their own sauces and soda which are both fun to try all the flavors. The chicken oysters were good, but smaller than expected. The tuna is a must get and the power bowl with chicken and the one with tuna were both outstanding. the chicken sandwiches were good, but run of the mill.
The chicken is really good and cooked well. The sandwiches are a good sized portion and each one tastes very different. There is a bar of different sauces if you want to add them. They have a soda machine with different flavors from a normal place, made with sugar not corn syrup. There is a hand wash station for after you finish eating. They have a sand pit for kids in the back and bowls for water for dogs.
The Crack Shack - Encinitas isn’t just serving chicken—it’s serving culinary euphoria. The Firebird sandwich? A masterpiece. The breading was seasoned like a chef’s secret handshake, and the chicken inside was so juicy and tender it practically melted. That onion brioche bun? Moist, flavorful, and structurally heroic—it held everything together like it was born for the job. Then came the coleslaw revelation. When a staff member says, “I don’t even like coleslaw, but ours is great,” and you believe them—and they’re right? That’s next-level persuasion backed by serious flavor. You’ll be ruined for all other slaws. And let’s talk about that sauce bar. Pineapple mustard, Sriracha 1000 island, homemade ranch—each one a bold flavor detour worth taking. You didn’t just taste them, you experienced them. The vibe? Immaculate. Between the laid-back energy and the full bar, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to clock out and chill with a cold beer every single day. This isn’t just a chicken joint. It’s a sanctuary for the taste buds.
I can’t get enough of this place. The entire experience is 5 stars. Wish I could give it more! The food is out of this world. I was glad to go my first time with friends that wanted to eat family style so we got one of everything. I didn’t eat anything that I didn’t completely love. And the location! I could spend all day in the shack atmosphere. Please go and eat here! You won’t regret it. #firebirdgang
We've been here enough times now to have tried most things on the menu. Every single item we've tried has been great. Fresh, tasty, not over cooked. The standouts for me are the California dip and the firebird, easily the best chicken sandwiches I've had. They also have great fries, a great happy hour with a good beer selection and friendly service. Only negative is items are very expensive.
A great find! What attracted us was the urban setting with a huge rooster statue in the front of the restaurant. A little hard to figure out the way to order food but the cashier patiently explained the procedure. We weren't sure we would like it but decided to try it anyway. it was a very good decision. The sandwich we ordered :Cali Sandwich" was big enough to share it comes with a spicy posole broth which was very tasty. Their fruit bowls are fresh and inexpensive. Will definitely go back!
Some of the freshest fried chicken on-the-bone I've had! From the batter to the quality of the meat, you can't go wrong; although, a little salt added does enhance it. The patio is great with the weather, not so much the sound of the honking and traffic going by though. Overall, miles ahead of your typical fried chicken restaurant chains in terms of taste and experience.
I love this place so much. From the fresh food to the natural sodas. Everything is delicious. I love that there weren't a lot of people at the time we went on Friday around 1330. Right now, they're wiping everything down, wearing masks & gloves, & are social distancing. So I appreciate that greatly. We ordered the 5 pieces of fried chicken with a regular size of fruits, & 2 black cherry sodas. They are pricey, so beware, but the quality & taste are superb.
Crock shack is definitely an obsession. I love their fried chicken, but I usually end up getting the Baja chop salad with a fried thigh. My daughter loves the biscuits and the miso butter. I also love the deviled eggs. The food is always so fresh and the customer service is excellent.
Probably my favorite chicken sandwich spot in the country regardless which location you go to. Their food is consistent, customizable, fresh, hot, and always packed with flavor. Their staff are always so nice and the place is clean and wide open. I love this place. I've purchased many giftcards for friends as well.
Decided to make a pit stop here for lunch, the menu is outside and so is the counter service, but the inside is nice and cozy warm atmosphere. This location is off Encinitas BLVD. I decided to go with the firebird sandwich and my GF got the Cali Drip sandwich, the food was very tasty and they also have different sauces which is nice for example they have a pineapple mustard, which was really good. The restrooms are outside so if you’re sitting indoors it can be a tiny walk. Overall my experience was great and had great service and food. I would go back.
Came on a recommendation from a friend and we left completely satisfied and well fed. It is speedy counter service and then a cozy upbeat inside/outside dining area where they bring your food right to the table. I had the chefs special chicken sandwich and my husband had the downward dog. Both were so tasty. Glad we came.
Ordered a whole bird and 2 large order of fries for 4 of us to share. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They have Stubborn Soda in the machine as well as the high fructose corn syrup varieties. We also had a couple of cookies: the chocolate chip was a little too sweet, but the cowboy cookie was really good
First time at Crack Shack Encinitas, and I was very impressed. Extensive menu and beer and wine choices. I tried the Mexican Poutine and did not regret my choice. Delicious with excellent flavors and textures. A glass of sauvignon blanc balanced it out. Great place for families, couples, or groups. There is plenty of seating indoors and out. Fun activities for the kids. Service was pretty quick and accommodating. Restrooms are clean and well stocked. Plenty of parking. Location close to the freeway for easy access.
Really good chicken sandwiches with a nice location close to the beach. The portions are huge and the flavor is rich. We got the croque and firebird both of which were delicious. The spice level was balanced and the sauces they have are all good for dipping your fries in. The fries were a little overseasoned and salty but other than that everything was enjoyable.
Had lunch here on a weekend. You order at the front and are given a number stand where someone will come to your table to bring your order. There are 4-5 sauces available to flavor up your chicken. Lots of open seating. Sandwiches sounded interesting so we tried two different ones (coop deville and senor croque), fries, cole slaw, and an additional chicken breast. Sandwiches are large and the chicken was very juicy. There was cole slaw on the coop deville so it help lighten and refresh the sandwich. Compared to senor croque, this was also good but felt heavy and rich with the egg and bacon. Ended up asking for to go containers to take the rest back for another meal. Expect hands to get messy and appreciated the roll of paper towels at the table and hand washing station. Overall was a very good chicken place and will have to come back to try the fried chicken meals
Very good chicken sandwich. Recommend Firebird over the others because the chicken thigh is more juicy than the breast. Actually quite good fries! Very fresh ingredients. Also a lot of sauce options. I recommend pineapple mustard (never seen elsewhere) and BBQ. And this site has more parkings than the Little Italy one.
My mom and I often come to the Crack Shack for a quick bite to eat. The food is always delicious, but this review is less for the food and more for the service. We experienced an…. overly friendly customer sitting next to us at the bar. The staff immediately noticed we were uncomfortable and made sure to stay close so we weren’t left alone. When we were ready to leave, we were escorted to our cars. Thank you for making what could have been an awful experience, a night I’ll remember for the kindness and generosity of others.
Crack Shack offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal. The highlight is their fried chicken - crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each dish, from the unique sides to the delectable sauces, showcases their commitment to quality. Service is friendly and attentive, adding to the restaurant’s charm. A delightful spot for comfort food lovers!
I’d heard good things about this place and I wasn’t disappointed! The Baja chop bowl, with added check thigh tossed in the fire sauce was great and very filling! And the salted caramel cookie, a great way to top off dinner! The wine is a little expensive, but I guess that’s America… Staff is so friendly, welcome and ready to give honest recommendations 🙏🏼
The Crack Shack makes one of my favorite fried chicken sandwiches in SoCal! The Firebird (spicy chicken sandwich) and the fries are delicious. They also have a wide selection of sauces, and the outdoor seating and ambiance are nice. I highly recommend this place if you love fried chicken!
Super good chicken spot. Came here in 25 and loved their rotisserie chicken sando. Came back recently to have their Spicy chicken ranch sando and was pleased! Highly recommend for a good bite, just a little more on the expensive side!
Been meaning to try this place for years. We were there on a cold night and appreciated the heaters since it's an open air restaurant. Enjoyed our meal. Cool vibe. Nice they had a hand wash station in middle of eating area. Prices were affordable. Cashier was friendly and helped us decide what direction to go.
I am from LA. While driving I saw this place was packed, looked online for menu. At first I was scared as I never like chicken meat in restaurants, it always taste so bad and sticky as I prefer fresh poultry. My partner was hungry so thought to try. My my my so good and fresh, the fact of food is it’s not spoiled rotten or doesn’t have any foul smell. It’s fresh crunchy juicy with pickles and fried onions sooooo Yummmmm! Though the place was full It was quick didn’t wait more than 5-10 minutes. Came to know that they have locations in LA. Iam excited to try there next. Service was 10 on 10. Love it! I wish you have more locations here in LA too. And definitely recommend this place and will be back soon!
We ate at bar because we could order food there and watch the bartender make some really tasty and exotic tropical drinks. otherwise we would have ordered outside at the entrance. I don't usually try wantabe tropical drinks except with in Hawaii but here I did and was glad I did. Not particularly expensive. Delicious and nature. Sugary syrup (hate that filler crap) was a minor ingredient. My wife said her traditional margarita was also very goodm. The menu is chicken, chicken and... chicken. But many choices and the two choices my wife and I had, the chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders were both excellent. And the fries which came with the tenders were awesome good and more than enough for two. Be hungry. All the portions are good sized. The neatest thing about this place is that its large large and enclosed but technically outdoors. Means you can bring the dog in your family too and many do. Though it was a really chilly, depending on where seated, during our visit during the first week of January.
First time trying Crack Shack after hearing so many good things about it and I’m happy to report it met my expectations. Split the “Katsu Lookin” sandwich and the “Senor Croque” with a friend and they were nice enough to cut the sandwiches in half for us to share. The katsu sandwich had a delicious slaw and the flavor was super good. The other sandwich was very breakfast-y and I loved the egg and bacon. There were lots of kids and families seated inside which made it very lively but not too loud thanks to the high ceilings. Yum!
**Review for Crack Shack: A Spicy Delight** If you're a fan of fiery flavors and crispy chicken, Crack Shack is a must-visit. Specializing in fried chicken sandwiches that pack a punch, this spot is perfect for spice enthusiasts. **Ambiance and Service:** Crack Shack offers a lively, casual atmosphere. The modern yet cozy décor suits both quick bites and laid-back meals with friends. Friendly staff ensure a smooth dining experience. **The Sandwiches:** The spicy chicken sandwich is the star. Fried to golden perfection, the chicken is juicy inside with a robust, spicy coating. Topped with fresh pickles and tangy slaw, it balances heat beautifully. **Hot Sauce Heaven:** Crack Shack excels with its hot sauce selection, ranging from mild to scorching. Whether you're new to spice or a seasoned pro, there's a sauce for you. The staff is happy to recommend the perfect pairing. Don't miss the seasoned fries and crispy onion rings, perfect companions to the main event. House-made dipping sauces add even more customization. Crack Shack is a paradise for spicy food lovers. With perfectly fried chicken, an extensive hot sauce selection, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a place you’ll want to revisit.
Incredible fried chicken and huge range of beer in a large informal space with lots of natural light. The fried chicken is the main event and it doesn’t disappoint. The crust disintegrates with a satisfying crunch and spicy tingle, the free-range chicken inside is super juicy. A great range of self-serve sauces means you can drench the chicken as you please. The ranch is insane, the pineapple mustard and bbq are also very good. SAUCE HACK: I would recommend mixing 2/3 bbq and 1/3 pineapple mustard to make a Chick-fil-A style sauce. Goes down so good. The sides were also amazing - both the fries and mini-biscuits were divine. Great place for a group, couples, or solo at the bar watching sports.
We went there while we were on our way to the airport to head away from all of the delicious food that we had in the area. A pal had recommended it, and they basically had me at ‘chicken.’ Holy cow were they right. It was beyond worth the stop. We were initially confused at the order outside and eat inside setup - and a little sign would’ve helped with that. We just wandered on in and saying ‘Oop.’ Once we figured that out, and got over the overwhelming ‘maybe I should get that - or that - or that - or that’ menu, we found a table and really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was baseball on the tv, there were kids having fun, and when I went to the restroom - the wallpaper made me giggle. Oh - and before I forget, the fries were some of the most tremendous fries that I’ve ever had. I’ve had dreams about them …
Great place for chicken! They specialize in this food variety and their menu is simple, cost effective, yet provides great variety and use of the protein. Their sauces are banger and their service is efficient. Shoutout to Dean for giving good recommendations and making us feel welcome at the counter along with fine tuning our orders for the best experience. They also offer a variety of local beers and modern cocktails. Their seating is expansive and have fire pits and live sports along with bar seating for longer nights out than just dinner! Won’t hesitate to come here again when I’m in the area!
Order at the counter and then head in to take a seat. There’s quite a few different sauces to try and they are all pretty good, just depending on your personal preference. The food is pretty standard quality consistent with the other branches they have. Worth dropping by if you’re in the area.
My s/o and I came because I was craving some good chicken tenders. So we got the chicken tender combo with fries and decided to eat there. Got every single sauce we could try but noticed we’d been waiting for a bit. A couple with a very cute dog came in 10 minutes after and received their food before us. My s/o walked up to ask and it was ready yet (we’d been waiting about 20 minutes and it was NOT crowded) - before I could express my dissatisfaction they compensated with two large cookies they make in house (they’re delicious). The tenders are very good, fries amazing. They say the meal is shareable (you guys should add an extra tender to even it out). Good ol Ranch and ketchup were the best imo. Not a bad spot! Very nice atmosphere and might try the bar next time.
Crack Shack Encinitas is a bright and airy spot with an open indoor outdoor layout, high ceilings, and lots of natural light. Very clean and very family friendly. We ordered the Large Flock meal with chicken tenders for 5 adults and 3 kids, plus extra fries. The portions were huge and we could not even finish all the chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the cookies were delicious. Service was great and the staff checked in on us often. I love the hand washing station and the dog friendly setup with water bowls, though a lower sink or small stool for little kids would be helpful. The design has a relaxed barn vibe with wood interiors and tons of windows. Noise is moderate inside, with some traffic noise from the intersection. Overall, it is an awesome spot for groups and families. I would definitely return
Got the Powerbowl without quinoa and a side of coleslaw. This place is fantastic. The bowl had juicy, flavorful chicken, avocado, a perfectly cooked soft egg, and punchy, tart pickled onions. Great value and really delicious. The coleslaw was a bit spicy, but creamy and tasty, and easy to eat around the peppers. Love this place.

Great place, holds true to the original in little Italy downtown. Menu offering of fried chicken sandwiches are really great, I prefer the Sr. Croque sandwich. For sides, the jicama slaw is a great option, as is the Mexican poutine (pictured). Don't be discouraged by the line, it moves fast and the food is worth the wait.
One of the first fried chicken and chicken sandwich in San Diego. Good selection of sandwich's to choose from. Too bad it doesn't beat all the new chicken sandwich places (Holdaak, Wooboi...Etc) Soda is artisan craft ones, pretty good too. Great sauces to choose from. There's a small outdoor playground for kids. Too bad the toys were all broken. Wish they replace the broken ones more often.
Always good food and great vibes. They also have a great beer selection and delicious cocktails.
My first time at a Crack Shack. I had a really good time here. The vibe is fun and we enjoyed it. The portion sizes are pretty big. My kids got the little cluckers meals and enjoyed them. The Firebird was a big sandwich, and is pretty hot. The large fry is huge. The cookies are pretty big too. They have Pepsi and Stubborn sodas. There was a pretty big line at dinner time. But it was outside and fun to hangout and lookover the menu. Lastly I loved their take on their 1 star reviews - wallpaper in the bathroom made for some fun reads.
I went to this location because of the reviews. It was about a 25 min drive from San Diego area. It was very busy when I arrived. You can order carry out. We dine in. The customer service was great. It was an open air restaurant meaning its in doors with an outside feel I though it was Great !!! Dog friendly. Very clean. There was a large TV to enjoy watching sports on. Now the chicken. I order a 5 piece sweet chille & my friend order 5 piece honey butter chicken. We also had mini butter biscuits & coleslaw The Presentation makes your mouth water when it come tonyour table You can see the spices on the skin of the chicken cook to perfection. The chicken was very moist The only problem I had just my suggestion is that it needed a little bit more salt and pepper it was little bland for the tasting. The french fries were good and the coleslaw was Ok. They also have a great bar there too
Excellent curb delivery. I would recommend leaving four corners of the aluminum pan open so the coating, fries and biscuits do not get soggy. Gus's in Santa Ana does this and it makes a big difference. First time here and it was for takeout. We ordered the Crack Pak. It includes five pieces of chicken(bone in) nuggets (these were outstanding white meat chunks not reformed chicken matter like McD), fries, six small biscuits, coleslaw(I bet the coleslaw is great on a chicken sandwich but too heavy on mayo for eating straight IMHO), and two chocolate chip cookies. We got a small salad to share as well. It was easily enough to feed four to five people. I wasn't 'in the know' about the tossing sauce options so I got it plain. I would definitely like to try the tossing sauces in the future. Everything was tasty and the chicken is free range...I would go back and try the gluten free chicken too.
Great food. Chicken sandwiches were yummy. I wasn't a fan of the fries. They were a bit too oily and cold. Loved that there were so many dipping sauces to choose from. Place was relatively clean with lots of parking.
The food here is delicious, but lately, it has been inconsistent. The fries are hit and miss, and the breading sometimes is too thick. I'm ordering fried chicken, not fried breading. If the price point were not so high, then it would be more acceptable.
I've known about this location for a while now but never did stop by. I didn't have a great experience at the Little Italy location that left me with no desire. Well, things changed when I wanted chicken. Tupac and I stopped by and I'm glad we did. Order outside at the window before entering into the restaurant. There are outside seats too. Food: 5 piece chicken Side of Fries Hot Mess cocktail The chicken was so much better. Tender and not overly battered. Great selections of sauces to dip that chicken. My drink was ok. Overall, great location off Interstate 5. Clean restaurant and the negative for me is the restroom is located outside.
🐔 Family-Friendly Chicken Haven 🐔 Looking for a cozy spot where the kids can play while you indulge in some tasty chicken dishes? Look no further! This restaurant's unique, pet- and kids-friendly environment offers ample space for the little ones to have a blast. 🎉While the chicken may not be mind-blowing, it's definitely tasty enough to satisfy your cravings. Plus, the interior design is surprisingly quirky and adds to the overall charm of the place. 🏠✨Just a heads up, though – if you prefer a quieter dining experience away from the traffic, this might not be the spot for you as it's located next to a busy street. 🚗💨 Overall, if you're in the mood for a laid-back atmosphere with decent chicken and plenty of space for the kids to run wild, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. We'll be back for more family fun! 🍗👨👩👧👦
You literally order outside and are presented a number. When I return and have a small party I will skip that and sit at the bar. There you can order and get “normal” service. The restaurant is large and bright with an indoor/outdoor feel and potential. The food is good. We ordered the whole bird 4/5 (perfectly cooked and nicely spiced just not the best I have ever eaten) and fries 4.5/5 (order large they are addictive). The beer selection is solid. Wine by glass or bottle in each main variety. Craft cocktails.

The sandwiches were tasty and unique and I got to have gluten free chicken tenders!! The dining room opens up like a barn so there is ample “outdoor” seating.
The food is quite delish and I did enjoy the fried chicken. The service was quick and barely even waited to eat. My biggest complaint is the ambiance. The ambiance is tainted with young children. I felt like I was eating at Chucke Cheese or Dave n Busters. If u have baby fever come here, it’ll be gone.
Just ok. Lots of chicken grease in the food couldn't make it through my meal. The hot sauce isn't hot and tastes like watered down Valentina with chicken grease. Chicken oysters and fries taste fairly similar and grease heavy. Probably won't go again as I've had a lot better hot chicken and fried chicken but cool if you like it. Enjoy
Came here with my co-workers for lunch. I got the firebird sandwich and enjoyed it so much. So I invited my friends for dinner here and we had an order of 5 pcs of chicken (I forgot the flavor) and 10pcs of honey butter. We also had their salad bowl and got cocktails. We were excited while waiting for our food because their cocktails were so good. The fries was really good too. The chicken came and the presentation was good. They have this note when they served the chicken that it may "appear undercooked". And we saw blood on our chicken when we bit into it. We did inform the server and he explained what was in the note. We just want to enjoy our night so we just finished the fries while sipping our drinks. We got the chicken to go, refried it at home and that's it. Overall, service was good, the servers were polite and nice, the cocktails were great, the vibe was chill but I'm not really sure on how I feel about the chicken. They say it's normal, but we're not able to enjoy it since we are not used to that kind of "style".
We have been wanting to try this place because we’ve heard good things. So...here’s my review summary: iWe will not be coming back to this restaurant. It was waaaay too pricey for what we got. This chain has superior image of itself because of the price point but cannot back it up with product. We got a side salad (very small), a kids meal, two chicken sandwiches, four drinks, two fries and a side of biscuits. We also got five sides of sauce ($.25 each) - small sauce containers. Our meal came to $70! Four people. Again between two of us we got one side salad and a KIDS meal. How a family of four can afford to come here is beyond me. They do get extra points for allowing dogs to come in and for that they get an extra star. The food was average. Tip: If you get nuggets don’t bother with sauce / dip in honey - it’s much better than their sauce. Also their cluck sauce is nothing more than Ketchup (Heinz) which they charge for - good luck!
Chicken is wayyyyyyyyyyyy too greasy, prices are crazy. Don't go. Not worth the wait in ông
This is one of the most expensive places, it's not even a luxury restaurant, to go pay $53 for a hamburger, some potatoes and one and two soft drinks. This is very expensive.

I love the food here! Although the wedge salad was amazing and was recently taken off the menu. Such a sad loss... also the Chicken Oysters are amazing but pretty overpriced *update chicken oysters are now $12 vs the $8 when I started coming. Very overpriced. Going from loyal customer to feeling price gouged.
You know that gorgeous chick you met once, that turned out to be a horrible person inside? This is what this place is... As a fan of fried chicken, I was excited to visit this place when it was recommended to me. When I got there I was excited by seeing the line to go into this place. We ordered 5 pieces of chicken, Señor Croque, Mexican Poutine, and Border Slaw. I'll start off by saying that it all looks delicious, hence the "Gorgeous" part of it. It seemed all well crafted for that perfect instagram #Foodporn post... but quickly I realized it wouldn't be a good idea to mislead any of my friends. All the food (excluding Mexican poutine) Was plain and bland in flavor. I even asked them to dip the chicken in a spicy sauce, and it did not make any difference. I've never been so disappointed at chicken before, and I've visited the worst of them all. How can such a good looking food taste so bad? No idea... The Mexican Poutine was probably the only item that actually had flavor but most of it was cause or the Jalapeño cheese wiz. The place is huge, and we found seating quickly...even on a peak time. The whole concept of the restaurant is amazing, but that's about it. To top it all off, the price was a little steep for what the actual food tasted like. I'll pay some good 💵 for some great food, but this is just not it. Almost $50 for two people is just too much when everything taste plain and flavorless. Maybe it was just a bad night for the restaurant, but that's my honest review. Some people love it, I just hate it. My review isn't meant to stop someone from coming in and trying it, but to just let you know if my experience. 😣
Got there right before 11 and no one else was there. I expected fresh chicken. I got the fowl italiano sandwhich. Have you ever had left over chicken that you microwaved and it became really dry, hard to bite into and color changes to a grey color? Thats what half of the cutlet was. It was definitely not freshly fried. Maybe I got last nights left overs. I was sad that my experience wasn't better, I really wanted to enjoy this place.
I have been there 3 times. Won't go again. First and second times were barely ok at best. Think chick fil a but not as tasty. Third time, I ordered a seasonal Italian style chicken sandwich with fries. The sando had some flavor but the bottom bread was completely soggy making it impossible to enjoy. Fries were obviously fried too many times over in old oil. Cost was very high. Quality not justified and for crying out loud, why is chef Richard Blais associated with this place. Do better.
I’m not sure what the hype is. This experience was not good. The guy taking our order clearly hated his life and was rushing us even though we were the only ones there. The food - Caesar chicken wrap was all lettuce with a few tiny pieces of chicken and flavorless. The hot sandwich had so much goop it fell apart. I have no idea what all was on it. The atmosphere, you may as well be in a ball park. All of it sucked.
*****RE-ADDING BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DELETED MY REVIEW. That explains the 4.5 rating. I was very disappointed with this place. After getting off work, I arrived in a Lyft to meet my son and friend. My son had a small Chick-fil-A bag with him, and the woman at the front counter rudely told us no outside food was allowed because it was a restaurant. I understand the policy, but her tone was unnecessarily condescending. To make matters worse, the chicken tenders were terrible—part hot, part cold, and served suspiciously fast. The batter was pale and undercooked, not golden and crispy. I only ate the fries. I regret spending $25 here.
