Tip: Be prepared for a wait, especially for outside seating, but it's worth it. The pancakes are huge, so a short stack might be enough.

I was immediately seated when I came in and the waitress was extremely responsive. The food was cooked fresh and the portions were large. My crab Benedict was made with real crab that was fresh and the eggs and other sides were cooked perfectly. I absolutely will be returning here again to eat!
Michael was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. He was attentive, enthusiastic, kind, and genuinely joyful throughout our entire meal. He absolutely exceeded our expectations! We’ll definitely be coming back for the delicious food, but especially for the outstanding service. Thank you, Michael!
Michael was an absolutely wonderful server on this Saturday morning. Big smile and friendly service! The food was great and overall I would return and ask for Michael!
Been coming here for a few years now! They never seem to fail and also improving and getting better and better. Sometimes it gets jammed packed but the staff does exceptionally well getting every guest situated and seated in a timely manner. Food is fresh and organic and very well prepared like home cooking. Love the new Micheladas guys!!!
The food was yummy and service was excellent too. Bit of a wait for outside seating and the patio faces the parking lot, but it’s still very pleasant and well worth the wait. The brunch dishes looked especially delicious and next time I think I’ll try their stack of pancakes with berries. Good time had by all.
We were greeted by friendly servers and seated promptly. Our omelet and pancake orders were met with exceptional culinary delight. The lady marmalade, or pumpkin pancakes, were not excessively sweet, striking a harmonious balance of pumpkin flavor. The Mexicali and Denver omelets were substantial and provided an ample ratio of meat n vegetables to eggs.
Absolutely flawless. Service was amazing, food was scrumptious and perfectly prepared and the ambiance is second to none. Plenty of parking. I have nothing but praise for this amazing place. Oh and PRICES were phenomenal in this era of skyrocketing costs.
We had a retiree group's reunion here. The food was great & reasonably priced and the staff treated us royally. They were able to set up two long tables for the twenty of us to sit together and were very accommodating.
The Nook is a fantastic for breakfast. Really enjoyed the quality of the food, quality that make your taste buds happy. I really don't know where to start. There ham was amazing thick with a bone in the center. There sausage larger, round and flavorful. I had there chorizo and egg omelet "WOW" high quality cheese, veggie and of course the sliced avocado on top fantabulus presentation. So, don't take my word for it try it for yourselves. Look at my photographs and like always my brothers and sisters feed your food souls and God bless.
Nestled in the heart of Encino, this restaurant is a hidden gem for breakfast and lunch. I’ve visited multiple times and have always been impressed by the exceptional service. The farm-fresh ingredients used in their breakfast omelettes are truly impressive. Everything is generously portioned, making it a satisfying meal. We highly recommend the BIG MAMA omelette, made with egg whites, fresh spinach, veggie sausage, garlic, mushrooms, jalapeños, tomatillos sauce, and mozzarella cheese. It’s a flavorful, light, and delicious combination. Another must-try is the MEXICALI Omelette, also known as the WOW omelette. It’s loaded with Ortega chiles, chorizo, garlic, onions, mushrooms, avocado, cilantro, and jack cheese, all covered with their delicious Rancheros sauce. If you’re looking for something a bit different, the EL GORDITO BURRITO is a great option. It’s just as delicious as the MEXICALI omelette but served as a burrito. For dessert, indulge in the TUTTI FRUTTI French toast. It’s so good! It’s served fresh, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar, and topped with strawberries and blueberries. The toast is also very thick and delicious. Under the EXTRA EXTRAS section of their menu, you’ll find a healthy option called the MR UNIVERSE plate. It includes egg whites, grilled chicken, and a side of broccoli. It’s a delicious and nutritious choice. Don’t forget to try their coffee or latte. They have a variety of choices to choose from, but my favorite is their Chai Latte. It’s absolutely delicious! For lunch, I highly recommend the TURKEY AVOCADO WRAP. It’s loaded with turkey breast, bacon, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, arugula, tomatoes, chipotle mayo, and jack cheese. It’s a delicious and satisfying option.
The food, the service, the atmosphere is top tier. One of the best spots I have ever been to and one of the busiest as it can be quite crowded but it's worth the wait. Fortunately, I was able to find a table within a 15minute window. The food is very delicious 5/5, 10/10 the list can go on. From the flavor my mushroom Benedict eggs provided to the great taste of their smoothies and coffee. It just hits the spot. The crepe was a perfect dessert and it was plentiful for two. The portions here are more than generous, enough for a person to be really satisfied with their choice or enough for a person to share with a loved one or a friend. The service staff was very kind from the beginning and offered ample time to order as well as. They remained vigilant to when your table needed anything and did not come up to bother to ask if you needed anything or to ask about the quality of the food while you were mid chew and they mid sentence expecting a response other than a thumbs up or a grumbled mhmm good. Which is very ideal in my opinion when I'm having a great time enjoying the food or having a conversation with the people at my table. If anything I would say this place gets a 10/10 for service, great taste in food, the atmosphere is very wholesome, welcoming and diverse seating both outside an in. The restrooms aren't terrible here they look clean and the kitchen has an open view as you walk by so you can see what kind of cleanliness goes on inside the restaurant. The seating does seem quite packed but with enough space that the average person wouldn't be backing their chair into you. The parking lot isn't large so expect trouble parking on a busy day. Overall if you've never been here before and are questioning where your next breakfast, brunch or lunch adventure will be, ask no more for this is it. If the emaculate taste of their dishes won't convince your, your wallet definitely will. Taste, worth it's price. Not to expensive but not too cheap. You get more than what you pay for and will need a minute or two to rest before you walk again.
THE NOOK, a breakfast/brunch eatery, is cute as a button. Using stagecraft, the interior is decorated as an European village. Outside, there is a covered patio and umbrella protected seating. The large, creatively written, breakfast/brunch menu includes animal, vegan, and gluten free entrees. Portions are large and satisfying. Servers are knowledgeable and friendly. The generously sized glasses and cups are quickly refilled. The brewed coffee is hot and flavorful; the espresso, deliciously rich. Heated, ceramic plates maintain the entrees temperature. That's important if you're seated on the patio. My wife and I met a couple of friends to enjoy a pleasant brunch. Reservation are not accepted. Our wait is short. My wife ordered eggs, over easy, crisp bacon, with a couple of plate-sized pancakes. Our friend had a mound of whipped cream, decorated with chocolate sprinkled on a stack of gluten-free waffles, covered with sliced strawberries and bananas. The entree also included scrambled eggs and crisp bacon. I ordered tofu scramble. Chunks of tofu stir fried with vegetable and rice. It was lightly sauced and very good. My companions made good dents in their generous meals but, at least, half was taken home. STUFF: Parking is free in a tight lot. Wheelchair accessible, including the bathroom, which is located, inside the eatery, down a hallway on the right (west) side of the dining room.
Delicious! Got the Vanilla latte, Smore's Pleaze & Nookies steak fajitas burrito. Smores pleaze was delicious, not too sweet and fun textures. Steak fajitas burrito was tasty, it's a smaller burrito but juicy and full of flavor. Latte was fine. Plenty of tables inside + some outside. Staff was nice & prices are fair. It's tucked in the corner of a bug plaza with parking + street parking.
Everything we ordered hit the spot. In side of the restaurant is cozy. Not too big but not small at all. Plenty of seating. The kitchen counter runs along the length of the restaurant which is really different but nice. Makes you feel right at home! We got crepes, wheat waffles, burgers, chicken sandwich, and a wrap. To keep it short, all of our plates were cleaned ! Definitely coming back here.
Highly recommend the Green Machine matcha pancakes. A short stack was more than enough for one person because the pancakes are huge. They’re light and fluffy and full of green tea flavor, but they’re not overpowering. There are so many options for fun, unique pancake and french toast flavors. Definitely will be back here for brunch.
Nice little decent breakfast spot. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict and it was a good meal, not great. Very basic and did not have a ton of flavor but was good nonetheless. Wish the crab cakes were bigger and had more bite to them but they were semi soft and mushy. Not how I like my crab cakes but hey, maybe you will live them. I tried my buddies scramble which was pretty good too.
Great place. Definitely portion sizes are nothing to worry about here. Reason I give it four stars just the location. Something that didn't really appeal me along with the seating. Other than that, the food and service was amazing. If you go, don't be shy to share their french toast, waffles or pancakes!
Busy place. Had the blueberry banana pancakes, not a fan of the flavor of the pancakes. Blueberries were not that good. Wife had the baked apple French toast. One slice of somewhat thick bread and baked apples on top. My wife did not like the French toast but apples were good. 2 cups of coffee and two plates, $50 with tip. We gave them a shot. Not our “cup of tea”
I really wanted to like this place because it looks like a charming little café, but the food was honestly terrible for the price. My wrap was $40 (yes, forty dollars for a wrap) and it tasted like something I could have made at home with unripe avocado and dry lettuce wrapped in a paper towel. Even after adding our own salt, it was still completely bland. My friend’s crepe was dry, and the jam had a strange sour, almost rancid aftertaste. We didn’t even finish our fries, which should tell you everything. Even after only taking a few bites, they still charged us the full $70 before taxes, and had the audacity to ask for a tip. Service was polite but distant, and no one came by to ask how things were. For a place charging that much, the least you’d expect is some flavor or freshness, but we left disappointed and lighter in the wallet. Definitely not worth it, visiting once was more than enough. $40 for a wrap that tasted like napkins, never again. Recommended only for people who can’t tolerate flavor.
