We visited Robert's by the River before Issma Evansville 2025 and they definitely have some of the best catfish I have had in a long time! Justice was so nice, patient and informative!

Ashley was absolutely brilliant. Very attentive and respectful. Pleasant to our table and timely with service and very fluid in timing her rounds checking on us . We didn’t have to ask once for anything. I will be coming not only for the amazing food and great atmosphere but hopefully for the great service and maybe get her section again. Great job Ashley . I had such a wonderful experience thanks to our waitress, Selina! She was incredibly upbeat, friendly, and easy to talk to. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome and comfortable. Selina was very attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. She was also so understanding and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. Her positive energy really made our visit special — it’s rare to come across someone who clearly enjoys what they do and makes the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Great good. Excellent bar! Chef did a little custom work and knocked it out of the park. He changed a Rueben into a Rachel. Bartender Justus also did some great drinks for my wife! I had the catfish which was excellent.

Robert by the River is the kind of place you go once… and then immediately start planning your next trip back while you’re still chewing. The food is top-notch—seriously, if flavor had a Hall of Fame, their menu would be inducted. The owners? Certifiably crazy (probably escaped from the “fun” wing of the asylum), but that’s exactly what makes this place so good. Robert and Bert could open a comedy club with their banter, but thankfully they decided to feed us instead. Service is faster than me running when I see a snake, and the environment is just plain fun—like eating at a family reunion where you actually like your family. Robert and Bert are legends. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe a little concerned about how much fun you just had at a restaurant.

I had salmon patties, green beans, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Also split the appetizer platter. Seating is a little bit strange in how it is arranged. Feels off. The salmon patties were fine. The green beans had a heavy seasoning I didn’t like. Mashed potatoes had an instant taste, but they were okay. The appetizer platter was good. Service was okay.

**Riverside Dr. Has construction but they're still open!!!!**Smaller packed restaurant with bar, but food was great. Catfish is amazing. Salad bar had good options for it's size. Chili was so so. The environment is nice and clean. Service was exceptional, because our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. A little pricey for lunch but average dinner prices. Definitely will return.

Had lunch there today and the sal ad bar was fresh with a good variety and the chicken wings were excellent with a dry rub. Service and pricing were very good. The restaurant is open to the public and a good way of supporting the Hadi shrine.

Nice restaurant at the Hadi shrine. The facility is clean. Prices are reasonable, and portions are ok. I tried their fried chicken, and I was pretty happy with it. Their sandwiches and fries seem standard. They have a salad bar. Apparently, there is some sausage worth trying, but only on Friday and Saturdays. I'll be back for that. We came in on a Thursday night. It was pretty busy as there was a half pot going on. Free parking at the lot across the street. Thanks!

Salad bar was fantastic, I ordered the chicken gizzards and about a third were livers (I left over half on the plate). We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer, they tasted like they came straight out of a box. My wife had the shrimp, not very good. Service was good.

The food was not good we had fried chicken it had no flavor. The mash potatoes had a bad taste. The service was ok.

We showed up on a Saturday around 2pm..place wasn't busy 3 tables were finishing up when we arrived and 2 waiting for food. The resturant was super clean was seated as soon as we came through the door. We ordered our drinks and within 5 min our order was taken and started being prepared by the kitchen. It wasn't long until our food made it to our table..the loaded fries was short on the meat and was a little salty but filled up the kiddo. The pork steak wasn't bad just no flavor beside pork..3 hush puppies were excellent (to bad there was only 3) the green beans wasn't much there to even talk about. The catfish was the winner of the table. The fish had flavor, not overly seasoned perfect! The slaw and okra was good as well. We didn't see our server once our food was brought to our table..all drinks were empty...when the server decided to show up..asked us how was everything and if there's anything we need..since our empty drinks didnt Spark anything we asked for refills..10 min. later refills came 2 waters l, 1 tea. Overall experience was ok, prices were a little on the higher side for the foodnyou get. Service could have been a little better. Was charged for using a credit card 3% but first resturant I've been to that charges a 1% for a food and beverage tax. Once the bill arrived

We thought it was decent but didn't wow us. The entree prices are on the high side for what they are. Sandwiches and appetizers are priced fair and drinks in line with other places. The salad bar structure is odd. $14 for a small unlimited option bar. To add to your meal is $5 but only includes a single trip. Plates are smaller than average too. Not a great value. Other places don't limit the trips made and offer a lot more choices. I tried the meatloaf since I saw other recommend it. The glaze on it is good but the portion size and meatloaf itself was meh. For $16 I would expect a little more. The baked potato is most likely the smallest I've ever received at a restaurant. May be all they had but that was disappointing. Coleslaw is vinegar based and has good flavor. 2 ordered burgers and they were just ok as well. Fairly small for $11. Think more sonic size. Again, tasted good just nothing exciting. The turkey sandbox sandwich was very good. Probably the best choice of the 4. Service was basic. Could have just been the snapshot we got but seemed to be annoyed by our questions and that we needed some additional time. She wasn't unpleasant but didn't give off friendly vibes. 0 refills during the stay until we were ready for the check. Overall, the location is great and is the restaurant itself. Very clean and looks like it could be a great place. The portion size and quality for the price just didn't hit. I don't mind paying for food if I get the monies worth. Can get a much larger meatloaf with sides for less at other places in town.

First time experiencing this restaurant the food was good but the waitress my girlfriend and I had seemed to be like she was in a rush. When ordering she kept messing up our order. When we got our main food we literally got 2 bites before the waitress came rushing over saying we needed to pay now. That set very uncomfortable with my girlfriend and I so not a very pleasant experience.
