Great food and service. First time there .Sat outside. Cool wonderful breeze. Great service. My friend had a massive breakfast. I had a turkey bacon avocado cheese wrap. Came with massive plate of sweet potatoes fries . Yum. The waitress, who was great, said they roast fresh turkeys so it's real turkey.Fallbrook is known for avocados. Right across the street is a big thrift store with great prices. Downtown fallbrook is a great place to spend an afternoon. Wonderful art gallery. On Tuesdays it free admission. Planning my next visit to this great restaurant.
Omg !! Let me tell you we have never been here until today. I got the pigs in a blanket, the Caruso burrito soooooo good. My husband got the fry’s and the classic cheese burger with provolone and he loved it. The fry’s were so freaking crunchy, crispy they were good. You can tell the people here care about your food and the service.
This place is located in the little quintessential downtown Fallbrook. It’s homey with delicious food and great service. I always get the Greek Omelette. We’ve gone a lot, I would say for a couple months it was somewhat regular with going 3x per month but haven’t been dinning out as much. I was recently very impressed with Shirley, the young lady who does the main cashing out at the front counter - she said “oh you guys haven’t been in a while, how’ve you been”? It made us feel special and valued. Thank you Shirley for being so warm and friendly!
Brought my friend here who was visiting out of town. She absolutely loved the service from our waitress and fell in love with the omelet she ordered. Portions are wonderful. Highly recommend to dine in instead of take out. Atmosphere is very comfortable.
This place is great. Ordered the bacon avocado cheeseburger. Came with 3 long strips of bacon and half a fresh avocado. This is the best burgers in town so far that I've had. Surely I'll be back to try the other items on the menu. Everything was great!
By far the best breakfast burrito in fallbrook. The place gets crowded and hectic each morning so I recommend "to go". Defiantly worth it .
I don't know what happened? My last review loved you guys. This last visit wasn't close to what you gave before. I ordered the same roast beef sandwich with Ortega chili on grilled sourdough. Last time it was nice sliced roast beef on a good size piece of bread. This time it came with minced chuck meat on a piece of bread about size of English muffin. Asked waitress if you changed sandwich around and she confirmed you did. My girlfriend ordered the Ortega burger and came with a big piece of black hair on lettuce/tomato. The hamburger looked like frozen patty about Jack in the Box style. Your food was great before. Is it new ownership? Or did we just get you at a bad time? Service was great! Food uggĝ.
Great place, we always come here when we're in Fallbrook.
Great food, pet friendly and awesome service! We had an outdoor table to allow our dog and she was brought water and sausages to snack on... Very nice. The humans had pigs in a blanket, waffles with strawberries and the Southwestern omelet. We all enjoyed the food and it arrived faster than I expected... Kudos to the staff. Would definitely come again to try more delicious plates.
Wonderful staff, great food. It's back to normal. A great little family-owned restaurant. My omelet and my biscuits and gravy were very good, but the hash browns not so much! Our waitress was great as usual though.
First time at Main Street Cafe and did not disappoint. The service was great. Our server Melissa was super nice. The food was hot and served just right. Even our dog enjoyed his burger. We sat in the front outdoor patio and enjoyed the cool weather. Definitely will be back.
It was my first time. The staff is very friendly. I came for breakfast, it was busy @730am. I ordered the all meat skillet with hash browns and pancake. It was a lot of food enough to share between 3 people! The salsa is really good. The service friendly. I will be back to try more. The atmosphere is exactly what it looks like a small diner with history.
Great service and food at a reasonable price. I had another great breakfast at Main Street Cafe this morning! I just had my standard Bacon and Eggs with some coffee! The girl who served me did such a great job making sure my coffee was filled and making sure I didn't feel alone because I was sitting by myself! Love it!
Came here for lunch with friends who live in Fallbrook. We were seated at a table on the back patio. Charming atmosphere, friendly, attentive waitress who greeted my friends like family. I can see why this is a local favorite. Had a Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger with regular fries. Wow. My friends opted for sweet potato fries. Noted the slices of pie and other pastries in the case as we checked out. Great food.
Amazing food! So worth the wait, with front and back patio seating available. Best breakfast you could get anywhere Our waitress was so very sweet and funny. She was an absolute pleasure. We had an amazing meal thanks again Main street cafe
Gina is owner of this place, and she is diply care to create family and authentic home environment. I can see many local people love this place. Grate environment, food and service. Thank you Gina to create all of this.
Delicious food, good prices, quick service, friendly faces.
Just got introduced to the main street café here in Fallbrook. Got a chance to meet Bernice who is just outstanding! The food was really delicious. My eggs were perfect. The bacon was crispy and the hashbrowns were out of this world. I strongly recommend this place.
Try the Veggie skillet with basted eggs! Loads of yummy veggies topped by three perfect eggs and freshly sliced avocado 🥑 It will keep you going all day! Friendly staff and good value for $$… The back patio is a great place to dine.

This is your local coffee shop diner that appears to have been around forever. I recommend the gyro or reuben for lunch. Their onion rings are very good. They are large with a scratchy batter. No need to dress up to go here. There is a limited surface parking lot, otherwise, there is also street parking.
I was visiting a wedding venue in the area with some family. The restaurant is extremely small but the food was great. I live in the south (Texas) and the food here was on par with southern cooking. I wouldn't recommend going with more than 4 people in your party as its mostly set for 1-4 people. We happened to have a party of 5 but after a short wait we were seated. We all had breakfast and it was great. I would go again.
Nice little cozy place with some outdoor seating. I'm grateful they had a few vegan items on the menu. My friends are not vegan so everyone was happy. Good service.
Outstanding breakfast! Loved the atmosphere & Sue was a breath of fresh air. We decided to stop in before heading back home from vacation & so glad we did.

Long wait to get seated but we came at a time on Sunday when it's busy Worth the wait. Out of potato salad but didn't know till my sandwich was served. We sat outside, nice area and accessible for a wheelchair. Like coming here, good food, good service and conveniently downtown, easy to roll to. Love the extensive menu options.
A lovely stop for breakfast. Food was good and the staff are warm and welcoming. I would not mind stopping by again to try more of their food.
The food was delicious and for a very reasonable price. The only negative thing was the parking. The lot is very small.
Always love this place. Not exactly the best in town, and definitely not the worst. Food and service is great, atmosphere is old school diner but could defiantly use a refresh. I love eating at the counter/bar and there are not many places that still have this, so a huge plus. Parking is what is is being on Main St, park and walk. I love the outdoor dining as it's a bit loud inside but both are nice.
Main street cafe...that's correct. It is located along the main street in Fallbrook downtown. But NO. They should named the Main cafe! Main cafe of the Fallbrook! It was my first time eat Skillet. The staff explained me what skillet is and she recommended me the Taco Skillet. She was correct. I like it.
Wanted to try an early morning spot on Sunday that wasn't Denny's. Food was really good, I had the vegetarian eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was made well. It was very toasty inside, they were blasting that heater, but given how chilly it was that morning I'm sure most appreciated it.
A small dinner in the heart of Fallbrook. There is limited indoor seating, with a more out side. The food is very good, and filling. The staff is friendly and service is great. Finding a place to park can be a little tricky, the parking lot is quite small. Over all I would eat here again, though I wish they did work with services like Door Dash or Uber Eats.

Fantastic down to earth breakfast brunch and lunch dinner. No surprises but it hits the Saturday morning vibes. A mainstay fallbrook institution. Wonderful service and staff was nice.
Good food, big portions, and reasonable price. Didn't have much space to park, though. I'd recommend trying their chocolate milkshake, it was delicious. 10/10

The food was actually pretty good. Service was strait forward. Our waiter came back once for refills but not another time. Other than that this place is pretty decent
Not much in the area so beggars can't be choosers. Had the country fried steak. Pretty bland and was served a bit cold. Does have a charm to it. Beloved by the locals it seems like.
Wanted to try a different breakfast place so I decided to give Main Street Cafe. First impression was not good, parking space are horrible if you drive a pickup or SUV. As I walked in the decor was very dated and there was no theme as they were scattered everywhere. I couldn’t tell if I was in a beach cafe , country diner or a Mediterranean eatery. I ordered the country fried steak and yet again disappointed as this is another place that does not serve homemade country fried steak. The coffee was a bit watered down and lacking flavor. I am happy to support your establishment but feel most locally owned businesses lack with serving homemade food everything is frozen nowadays. Please take this review to make some changes and Im happy to revisit again.

I've come to Main Street Cafe over a dozen times. And everything I've ordered has been below par. Today I ordered the Gyros wrap, and very small pieces of Gyros meat amongst a ton of lettuce, & that tzatziki sauce was thick and a big glob right in the middle burrito. Just because its a spinach tortilla, does not make it gourmet. What 1st arrive was NOT what i ordered..... was a chicken wrap. Plus our orders went in early, others were seated after us and their orders came out 1st. Way before ours came out. We waited over 30 min for our orders (only 3 of us). I dont like to complain about restaurants, and I've given this place a dozen chances, but not for a lack of trying. The breakfast menu must be great, ive never tried it, but its so overpriced, why order it. My friend said dont order a gyros from a breakfast place, never order fish unless its a seafood restaurant. She right! She was smart & ordered a BLT. Waitress are always very nice.
First the food. Homestyle cooking and good portions. Not always served hot when they get busy. So specify hot or ski not serve if you are like me and like my food piping hot. Service is acceptable. Not a five star establishment just ask for what you need early and often. The atmosphere is small town. You will probably see regulars and neighbors. Cleanliness is a solid F. The whole place front to back needs a deep cleaning and touch up paint to be kind. I spoke with the new owner Gina and let her know the carpet which is now a gross black made me want to vomit and is not very inviting or appetite enhancing. There is a huge difference between “homey” and filth. They are profitable in spite of the dilapidated state NOT because of it. There is a maxim in business that says “If you are not improving, you are losing.” Let’s keep a local landmark alive and well. Please let them know you see the grime also. On the doors, the chairs, the walls, and the ancient decor. Hopefully Gina will appreciate the feedback like a wise owner.
Bummer. This used to be good place to grab a bite to eat. Sadly, Chris has passed away, and so has his good restaurant. Service was just OK. The food was not pleasing. In our party of two we had BLT with side salad and a cob salad. The side salad arrived with frozen/wilted lettuce, slimy cucumbers, and icky tomatoes. Had to be sent back. the replacement was slightly better. The cob salad was fair, but had a bunch of wilted lettuce and one of the cucumbers was uneatable. This place is not cleanly. They appear to use dirty rags to wipe off dirty tables. There was some trash on the floor. The staff may have washed their hands in the restroom, I can only hope. They certainly didn't use the sink located by the cash register to wash up. • Poor Service • Icky Food • Dirty Restaurant Don't waste your money or your time at this place.
To begin with... we ordered 3 Belgian waffles in a carry out order and sure to tell them EXTRA crispy 2x. When we got to our destination we found NO NAPKINS and worse NO FORKS or KNIVES and were told everything we needed was in the bag!! Are we supposed to eat with our fingers?? Well that's exactly what we are doing! Not to mention, when we called in our order we had to call back to get a time to pick it up and whomever answered the phone wasn't polite at all!! The Belgian Waffles were lacking to say the least, we ordered them plain n expected crispy waffles but 15 mins down the road we were eating spongy waffles with our fingers... I have lived in this town for 40 yrs and have seen Main Street Cafe move all over this town and still we prefer to eat there and not the "other cafes" because of their food and usually great service. STEP IT UP GUYS!! I hope to never have to write a review like this again with sticky fingers!! Thanks, Kelle and family

02/18/2025 I came with my family to eat here for the first time. Our server took our order and once she brought our food and drinks she didn’t bother to check on us. We needed refills on our drinks and the other server completely ignored us .The older lady probably mid 50’s early 60’s completely ignored us as she was taking and serving other tables she would turn her back on us and we kept calling her over loud enough for her to hear that we wanted more coffee and she still ignored us. We had to wait until the lady who cleans the table to serve us coffee. I don’t know if any of this matters but we were speaking Spanish and we had noticed that she was nice to everyone that was Caucasian/white passing and to us she was cold, distant and was ignoring us. *Our first server was a younger lady probably mid 20’s - early 30’s with blue eyes* And the other lady was older like I said at the top of my review and she was wearing glasses*
STAY AWAY! We CAN NOT believe people have given this restaurant a combined 4.6 rating, it is NOT accurate! We tried it for the first time today and it was awful, we will never go back. First it is DIRTY - tables, floors, chairs, walls you name it! 2nd the silverware / plates need to be disposed of they are 20 years past their prime, knifes useless. Lastly the food BAD and not cheap. We had hands down the worst pancake we have ever had in our lives, almost chemical like. I am shocked people go here. Only redeeming quality was the waitress. She was very nice and responsive, she would be much better served working elsewhere.
