Jackalopes Bar & Grill is known for its delicious food, large portions, and cozy atmosphere with a fireplace. Brooke and Greg are frequently mentioned as providing excellent service. Some found dinner portions small for the price, and some dishes overly salted.

Jackalope’s was a refreshing lunch stop after a morning of hiking. An open dining room plenty of tables and a full bar with many options provides a great setting for small or large parties. Food was very good. The Ruben sandwich was the best I’ve had outside New York City. Good local beer and an extensive wine selection. Service was outstanding as well. No criticism whatsoever.
This review is mostly for our amazing waitress, Brooke! She went above and beyond and made our whole experience so much more enjoyable. The Philly cheesesteak was a bit skimpy on meat, but honestly, with service like hers, we didn’t mind at all. She also gave us very helpful input on the extensive menu.
Our waitress was Brooke and she was great. I've been in the hospitality business for a while and have tons of experience. She is most definitely one of the hardest-working servers I've seen. Also, the food was top notch! From the avocado gazpacho to the burger and that coconut risotto was just amazing! I'd gladly do back again when I'm in the area
My husband and I ate here for dinner and enjoyed some beers and cocktails at the bar and they were both fantastic. The food was exceptional and the staff tending to us on the bar were so friendly I can’t fault it! There were some cocktails that I’ve never even heard of and the bar tender executed them perfectly! 😍
This is a beautiful restaurant nestled in a gorgeous lodge at the entrance of Yosemite. They have an indoor dog section, which we absolutely love and wish we brought our fur babies. It is completely separate from the main dining room, so it won't bother non- dog people. The steak was incredible. I found fries as the side a surprisingly cheap addition for a $50+ meal. But they were tasty. I was disappointed by the salmon. I found it did not have much flavor. The meal came with cooked, sliced, lemons(on the vegetables), which we smeared on the surface of the fish. Adding salt also gave the fish more flavor. All in all the meals were very good. I would not order the salmon again. But the steak was great The ambiance, coupled with the dog friendliness, makes this a unique dining experience. The specialty mule was also excellent!!!
The food was great. Customer service was good. The regular breakfast is healthy and tasty, and the portion you get for breakfast is well worth the money. For dinner, I wish it was a little cheaper as the portion size was not so great. Next time when I go back, I'm definitely trying the breakfast all-you-can-eat.
I had dinner here last night. It was amazing. The dining room is very cozy with the large fireplace roaring in the middle. My server, Bronson, was really nice, attentive, and he helped me pick out menu items which all turned out to be delicious. I had the pork belly bites as an app, the short rib for my entree, and the snickers pie for dessert. Everything was excellent. I will definitely come back here next time I’m in the area.
Food is amazing. The price seems high at first, but they give a huge portion of food. Made the mistake on the first night of ordering an appetizer and two entrees, one each for my girlfriend and I. Big mistake. We now split one entree and an appetizer, more than enough food. The taste is amazing and just some of the best food I've had in awhile. Definitely worth it.
Food is good in terms of taste and quantity. Service staff is super friendly and ambience is perfect with a cozy fireplace inside and outside. We tried the apple walnut salad, fettuccine Alfredo pasta, blackened chicken tacos and Nashville chicken burger. We liked the tacos and salad. We loved the warm sticky toffee pudding.
Restaurant is located within a gorgeous lodge and we had some fun warming up by the fire, admiring the Christmas Tree and roasting complementary marshmallows after dinner. A bit disappointed by the highly salted food that sounded great on the menu, but wasn't as fresh and delicious as I hoped. There's ice skating at the lodge, but it was raining when we visited. Can't beat the convenient location in regards to grabbing a bite after exploring the trails and hiking!
I got the crab cake Benedict- DO NOT reccomend. The crab cakes really are just breading.. I really didn't get a bit of crab in mine.. the poached eggs also were cooked like, medium... typically Benedict eggs are poached soft so the yolk adds to the sauce... the hollandaise was extremely thick.. and not terribly flavorful. I asked for chorizo to be added in the hash browns - i did not enjoy this as much as I hoped it would. The steak bites appetizer was def worth it. I enjoyed the blue cheese & the bread pieces The Chile relleno a la carte was mediocre.. So best thing was the steak bite appetizer for sure. Staff and waiter super friendly and attentive.
get the shortrib- super tender & delicious. it was missing a little salt, but overall super good. was so pleasantly surprised by everything here! my expectations are generally low for hotel restaurants, but everything was solid. the diver scallops were surprisingly fried in batter (i don't think it said this on the menu), but delicious. the dumplings were probably my least favorite thing... the filling didn't have much flavor and the skin was a little chewy. otherwise, the service was excellent and it was super nice to sit on the patio with the fireplace.
Nice Restaurant, well designed and decorated, friendly staff… but when it comes to food, unfortunately not good specially for a great hotel. We ordered burgers…. Very blend and very poor portion…. Side of coleslaw salad is attached. Definitely with a great staff and management, they could do better and they should do better. The price was fair for a hotel restaurant but definitely unfair for good quality and portions!!! The drinks were not bad !!!
After ordering the buffet we weren’t offered coffee or juice which is part of the buffet. I had to ask for it late into breakfast, which was disappointing. There is nothing special about the food. Scrambled eggs were just that, slightly overcooked. Sausages were plain. Waffles were ok and at least the syrup was hot. The interesting thing about this buffet is that other name brand hotels that offer complimentary breakfast also offer the same things but here it’s $25 per person. My son ordered French toast and it came with regular size bread. I’m used to Texas size bread and bread isn’t expensive. If you want to save money, get patty from the store and coffee from your room. Otherwise, lower your expectations for breakfast.
It is a basic standard for restaurants to provide safe and clean cooked foods. I ordered “ SAUTEED GARLIC CRUNCH SHRIMP” but the vegetables in it were not even washed properly. Dirt was visible on the inner leaves, as you can see in the photos. I complained to the waitress, and she relayed the chef’s response: “They soaked the vegetables as best they could.” However, the photos clearly show how careless they were. It’s obvious they didn’t clean the vegetables thoroughly, and their response was just an excuse, which only made the situation worse. If certain vegetables can’t be thoroughly cleaned, why not cut them into smaller pieces to ensure proper cleaning, replace them with other vegetables, or be honest with the customer instead of making excuses? If you decide to visit this restaurant, make sure to check if the food you order is properly cleaned.
