It's been about a year since I ate here. I came September 13 around 6:00 in the evening with my family and today, September 15 around 4:00. Our waiter was Robert on both occasions. He provided the same consistent service. I appreciate his professionalism and friendliness. The food on both visits was delicious. I had a Bacon burger. Crispy bacon...perfect. The burger was very tasty. Another family member had a salad with chicken. He said it was good too. Let's just say Western Edge is a very nice restaurant with a homey atmosphere. I will definitely return. I will tell friends, and when I am at work and customers ask me where is a good place to eat here in Fredericksburg you know my answer. The Western Edge!!!

Veronica, our server, was friendly and attentive. The food, BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza and the Philly Cheese steak was really good. If we make it back to Fredericksburg, we'll eat here again.

We stumbled upon this little gem walking on Mainstreet early one Saturday morning looking for coffee. Beyond impressed!!! We ate outside on a beautiful covered patio and had a delicious breakfast with amazing customer service! Highly recommend!

Crazy Cowboy salad was awesome, fresh greens, .grilled chicken, avocado, corn, mango and a jalapeno ranch dressing very delicious. Bread puddin with Bourbon sauce was also great. Sandy was a friendly and attentive server! So glad we stopped in...my husband had the Billy Burger, bacon and goat cheese it was huge...and tasty!

Me and my husband stopped in for dinner and it was absolutely amazing! Ryan took care of us and he was so nice and attentive. The food was SO GOOD! So glad we stopped in!

We are visiting Fredericksburg and were looking for a place to have a casual lunch. We were walking and came upon Western Edge. The menu was posted outside making it easy to see what they offered. We decided we’d try it out so we walked in and were greeted by a sweet hostess named Melony who seated us. She allowed us to sample the Poblano soup which was the Soup of the Day. It was delicious and ended up being one of our dining choices as well as the Turkey Club and Truffle Fries. All in all we enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere, and the service. I would recommend it to our friends and family.

Melanie and Ryan gave great service and were extremely friendly! The made in house sauce that came with the lunch chicken strips was amazing.

Veronica was a phenomenal waitress! Been coming here for years and love this place. Had a great time tonight and felt compelled to write a review about our great service and honestly the great Philly cheese steak I had. Great foo and live music…can’t beat it!

Went with 3 family members on a Friday evening. The restaurant was nearly empty, so we were a little nervous, but the menu had a good selection of items. Our waiter Ryan was fantastic - very professional while staying personable, knowledgeable about the menu and nearby businesses, and attentive towards our needs. The food came out quickly, and everyone was quite happy with their dishes. Dessert was also delicious. I'm looking forward to my next visit to town so I can come here again!

We came for live music, late night snack, and some cocktails. We got all three! We had the Mediterranean salad with chicken instead of salmon. Our service was good as well.

Just popped in here today with 6 of us and 3 were children! Wonderful variety and great quality. We had a range of salads, pizza, fries—and the server was fast, friendly and professional. Honestly, my favorite go-to in Fredericksburg!

What a great restaurant to go to with pets. We have two boxers that have, to have attention. The food was delicious and great portions for the price. The patio was well kept, and ventilated with a nice breeze ( we were in mid July there ). Highly recommend it. PS : they love seeing pets. Rumor has it there might be a pet menu 😃

We went inside before more people came so we sat close to the bar areas. They have indoor and outdoor seating with live music. The Billie Burger and Refresher drinks were super delicious. It's pricey, but worth it! Great staff that check up on you.

This place may not seem like much but the food is excellent. The place was clean and service was great. I went for lunch and had the fish tacos. I was not disappointed the taste was spot on. This restaurant has more choices and everyone I went with loved what they had. I would highly recommend trying this place.

We always eat here when we are in Fredericksburg. There is a great selection of food and drinks for everyone in the family all day, Breakfast Lunch and Dinner. I got the lobster mac n cheese for brunch and it was perfect. The burger with goat cheese and bacon jam was delicious. Not to mention the 5$ kids meals are a great deal. Definitely recommend.

The food was *delicious* and generous! The amount of german potato salad I received was enough for at least two to three hungry people! They were busier than I thought for dinning in. The bakery was very nice. Make sure you take a loaf of bread home - all the staff was courteous - especially those behind the bakery counter.

Great food! Shrimp tacos were awesome and we tried some dessert: the Bourbon Bread Pudding and the Carrot Cake.

Awesome food, amazing atmosphere, excellent music! Five+ stars!! We were at Luckenbach & got hungry so a couple told us we should come to Western Edge. So happy we did! This will definitely be a new hangout spot when we come to Fredericksburg! 🍻

We heard the love music inside from the kid speaker on the street (good marketing)! The server pulled two tables together to make our party of 5 more comfortable and give everyone a view of the musicians. The wine list provided some great local and international options and the beer list, all on tap, offered a good list of Texas standards. Our Deep Ellum IPA tasted better than when we ordered it at the brewery in Dallas. Excellent food quality and top service!

We had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Our waiter was awesome. The whole staff was friendly and really service oriented. The Bloody Mary's were to die for.

Best German food I’ve had in a while! The drinks are great too! Plenty of beer options. There’s a sweet kitty that hangs around which felt homey. Our server was attentive and nice. I recommend the ginger peach spike lemonade and jagerschnitzel.

Everything I've eaten here is wonderful..! 💜 Prices are great! Very clean, organized, and has great artwork (for sale) everywhere and the staff is amazing!!! We meet every Monday 2-5 for D&D and Chess clubs.

We loved this place in Fredericksburg. The Town is beautiful to visit. There was live music band along with our food. The waiter service was exceptional. We order a couple of in house pizzas and few drinks. Their prices are very reasonable and the food flavor was good, drinks were good as well. The patio setting is nive specially for a nice cool evening with friends.

We have been here several times, the most memorable on Christmas Day with family. Wide variety of items on the menu and everything is very tasty. Service was good initially but then the server was inattentive and we were having to flag him down for refills on our water. First time that has ever happened so we will chalk it up to lunch time busyness.

We stopped in on our last day in a Fredericksburg getaway Dec 29, 2022. The restaurant is on main street. The shop has a lot of seating, but we got a table immediately. The servers are friendly, the smile, and they were taking care of everyone quickly. We were not super hungry as we visited several chocolate shops before lunch (yummers). I ordered a chicken flatbread pizza. It was really good. The crust was cooked perfectly, and the toppings were delicious. The lady had 2/3s of a turkey club sandwich with cheese, bacon and guacamole. I at the other 1/3 :). It was tasty with nice bread. Quick visit, good food, easy comfort atmosphere. We would go back.

Western Edge sits right on Main Street with both indoor and outdoor seating, live music, and spaces for large groups. We had reservations, but you can also walk in. The menu offers a wide variety of choices from fish to burgers, and it is all delicious. The bacon wrapped dates filled with goat cheese are my favorite. The truffle fries with cheese dip were mouth-watering. The lamb chops were so tender, and the seasoning absolutely delicious without the normally overpowering gaminess. Though there was a large crowd, orders were taken quickly and food served promptly. Staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

This is a cute spot on Main Street. They have live music and great service. The food and drinks did take awhile to come out, but we didn’t mind because it looked like they were understaffed. I understand that things are difficult during this time. We have the bacon wrapped quail, lamb and bread pudding. The food was amazing! We will definitely we returning next time we are in town.

Stopped for dinner on our recent trip to Fredericksburg and glad we did because the food and service were phenomenal! The Burger was the best in my opinion but the flatbread was a close second. The Bourbon bread pudding was ok but will probably try another dessert next time. Worth a try if you've never been and in the area!

My family and I ( wife and 3 boys all under 9 years old) were searching for places with no waits on a Saturday night with no luck! So my wife ordered her food from somewhere to go and I ordered wings from Western Edge because that’s what all the boys wanted! I went in and you could tell that they had just went through their Saturday night rush! I went to the bar and multiple employees asked to help me while I was waiting. A server looked into my order and the lady at the bar investigated and said we don’t have an order because it was placed for tomorrow morning pickup! Me being the devastated dad in shock asked the lady if this could be fixed. With no hesitation she told a server to send the food order in and get it going! I sat at the bar to have a beer while waiting. While waiting I watched this badass of a bartender slinging atleast 15 custom made cocktails while I sat there. Come to find out it was the owner!! Wow! Very impressed by her going above and beyond while still slammed with multiple drink orders. Great service, wings were delicious and all the staff very helpful! If you want a place with great food and service make sure to stop in and try them out. Thank you!

We ate breakfast her because the German restaurant across the street had a significant line. So we headed here. They were busy, but seemed understaffed for a Saturday morning during Oktoberfest. Robert our waiter did get to us, and made sure our drinks stayed full. Food was out pretty quick. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak. I had the skillet which had excellent potatoes but the bacon was not sufficiently cooked. More wait staff did seem to come in from outside and it seemed like things evened out and other folks food arrived quickly.

It had a nice atmosphere, just enough people there that I felt comfortable not a big crowd to make it loud and unpleasant. I didn't no that there was live music but that put an extra star on their review. Nice server, she could not hear us very well with the music playing but then again my husband couldn't here her neither; he is deaf in his left ear; which was the side she was standing on. They didnt have sweet Tea or a cold Bud light for my husband; not kool, I had a great bloody Mary though. Our meals were amazing(Filet Mignon & Fried Shrimp). We have to take our daughter there to eat for sure.

I have frequented Western Edge for several years. I have never had a bad experience. The food has always been solid; the chicken fried steak and chicken, BBQ pizza, rosemary chicken, and jager schnitzel all satisfying the appetite. Definitely above average. The wait staff have always treated us kindly and attentively. They have taken great care with both large and small parties. Highly recommend as a less busy option on main street.

Great food. Appetizer was fried shrimp in philo dough. My wife and I shared a set of sandwiches. Service was great and the staff was attentive. Place has live music in the evenings and I will be back.

Tasty pizza and pleasant service. The only thing I didn’t like was the cleanliness of the place. The floor looked quite dirty, and the menu we were given was sticky.

Delicious and friendly service :) I ordered the rosemary lemon chicken with sautéed spinach and a roll. My partner ordered the quail. I would recommend coming here if you’re undecided about where to eat. No regrets. Service was quick and attentive. Bathroom were clean and available. No long wait on a Thursday one hour before closing at 9pm. I would come here again.

2025 Update: Returned for our favorite bites, but I have to say the quality and presentation of both dishes has slipped. Ordered the bacon wrapped quail and it was nothing like the first time we ordered it. Service was friendly and prompt. The patio is nice but seating in the restaurant lacks ambiance. 2021: Beautiful patio, excellent drinks, and the 4 cheese crab dip is to die for. We took the server’s recommendation and tried the bacon wrapped quail, and it was so good, we’ll be back for more!

Got seated immediately. A variety of good drink options both cocktails and wine/ beer. Chicken fried steak was not a super huge portion which we liked. The pesto pasta was basic but still tasty. Service was a little slow but they were busy so it was understandable.

We came for Thanksgiving dinner and really enjoyed our meal. For appetizers, we ordered truffle fries and spinach & goat cheese flatbread. The truffle fries were mediocre, but the flatbread was amazing! For our entrees, most of us ordered the creamy pesto pasta (w/o bacon) and found it to be tasty but a bit lacking in flavor. The mac & cheese side we had ordered was really good though. As for dessert, the chocolate cake was delicious and really rich, but we’d ordered 2 slices and felt that one was different from the other (so not sure about consistency in that regard). Service was slightly slow, but it’s understandable because it was Thanksgiving. There was also some confusion as to what we had ordered, but they fixed it on the bill. Overall, great service, pretty good food, and reasonable prices.

Always friendly service from local staff, with USB and outlets in the wall. Food is super fast and always tasty but unfortunately the drinks, while looking great on the menu, aren't up to par. The martini was way too strong and the cucumber peach water was very full of Topo Chico which just watered the whole experience down. Come here for nice light bites.

Although previous visits weren't as good, this time we got great service with Leo who is attentive and delivers exactly what you ask for on top of being super polite! Our breakfast was fantastic, I had the ranch breakfast with poached eggs cooked to perfection to the temperature I requested. Compliments to the chef, Miguel! I also had a Bloody Mary, which was indeed just right fixed with Kettle one and we had a chicken fried steak breakfast, which turned out really well. The only thing Western she can improve here are the biscuits.. they are underwhelming. Hopefully they can upgrade that and then it's just the perfect 5 star meal with great service and a caring hostess, K.K.

When we walked in were not a lot of people in there and it was dinner time, so I was a little worried. The general ambiance was lacking from our perspective. The food was surprisingly good. The salmon was delicious, the flat bread was unique and very good, the lamb was said to be awesome. Brussel sprouts these days are supposed to be crispy and somewhat caramelized, but theirs was more like the limp sprouts of my youth. The quail was said to be a bit dry and the chicken fried steak ordinary but fine. Service was fantastic.

Came for drinks on a Monday and was super excited to get to hear some live music! Stephen K More is was fantastic to listen to while sipping on some great cocktails. We tried the “alright alright alright” and the cucumber martini — both were excellent! Will definitely come back to try some food soon!

Food is good. They have great cooks. They treat their employees like they don't matter. Wait time when busy is 30 minutes for drinks and Sometimes 45 minutes for food. Live music everyday they are open. They ran off our favorite bands however.

The sausage sliders were disappointing. Definitely not homemade. Fried potatoes were a nice save. And the staff was nice

Okay place. The chicken bbq pizza was good, staff was very friendly and tried to go above and beyond, atmosphere was nice. However, the waiter made many mistakes. The server gave us the bbq pork pizza instead of the chicken bbq, gave us the dessert sampler for $12 instead of the cheesecake sampler for $6 that we ordered, and forgot to bring out a fruit cup. The kids Alfredo was very soggy. The live music was a nice touch.

Was a mediocre breakfast experience, but cannot comment on any other time. The dining area was spacious and there was very little wait. The waitstaff were sort of friendly, but attentive. Food was ok, not great. Omelette was ok, bread and toast were terrible. Bacon was good. The bathrooms were not the cleanest, this was in the morning when they should have been at their best. Ok place to eat quickly if you do t want to wait for other places.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to Western Edge in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. When our food arrived, it came out noticeably cold. What made the situation even more frustrating was that no effort was made to correct the issue. There was no apology, no offer to remake the dishes, and no sense of urgency from the staff to address the problem. For a place that often receives praise, the lack of basic service and attention was surprising. Cold food and no resolution is simply unacceptable, especially at a restaurant that presents itself as a quality establishment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Western Edge. There are many other restaurants in Fredericksburg that provide far better service and care for their guests.

The smell of dirty mop water is the first thing that hit my nose walking into this place but we were welcomed promptly by the hostess. We had fries, carpaccio, and a few drinks. The food was good and I was please to try carpaccio for the first time here. In the middle of our visit, out server wanted to cash us out so she could leave. We were told that someone else would come to take over, but they never did. I think management should do better in this regard. Definitely appreciate you trying to clean, but do it right. I'm not planning on returning to this place and there are plenty of other spots on the strip for the next visit.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I called this place before we left on vacation and "all " the reservations were full. They said walk up and you will have to wait but we'll get you in. The website also claims someone will be performing from 7-9pm. Well, it was NOT full. We got right in, which was great, but the service was so bad all our food was ice cold. Don't worry, they microwaved it for us... BARF when it comes to shrimp and grits! And FYI, Mac and cheese should be called penne a la vodka! Not Mac and cheese what so ever! Don't waste you money! Atmosphere is cheap and crappy, service is sub par and they false advertise! Go to Hondo's...WAY BETTER!

Service was fine, pancakes were unremarkable. We ordered well done eggs and got runny undercooked twice and had to leave half the dish and time to get our meal was too long well over 30 minutes. Was not impressed

We were disappointed when we ordered the chicken salad and the chicken was unflavored, undercooked, and not very good. We asked to send it back, and the restaurant still charged us full price. After asking to have it waved, they took 20% off, so we paid almost full price for a meal we didn’t eat!!

We were here on Friday Night group of 15 split up between 3 tables. This place is under staffed and the only thing i can recommend out of all the food we ordered is the pizza. We ordered the trio app and it took 38 minutes to come to our table. The trio is chips and dip. All the chips were crushed on all three orders. It took an hour and 5 minutes to get our meals, which 3 of meals never came out......we were charged for them. The hamburgers or not home made. Do not try them. The buns are bigger than the patty. We ordered alcohol drinks of which took 30 minutes to come out and when it did it was wrong. This place needs more wait staff, a senior bartender and I'm guessing an actual chef in the kitchen. Idk if it was an owner or manager that kept clapping after ever song that was behind the bar but when your business is struggling with unhappy customers. Actually get out on the floor help!! We were there two hours and not a finger was lifted by her.... i do not recommend this place and i don't see this place making it long in fredricksburg. The only thing good about this place was the bands. They were unique and talented. The rest was a "0". Note it was NOT our waitress's fault. She had no support and was waiting on ten different tables. She busted her a$%.

Maybe it was a bad night, but this place was horrible. Lousy food. Horrible manager when I complained. Lots of great places to eat in Fredericksburg, but not his one!

Made a reservation for Mother’s Day to take my mom, dad, and fiancé out to dinner. When we got there, we were seated fairly quick. After this, it was all downhill. Our waiter was short with my fiancé and had a bad attitude when he simply asked about the sides they offered. He took our order in a rush and then did not check on us at all until the food arrived MUCH later. The food, for lack of better words, sucked. There was no flavor in any of our dishes, they were lukewarm even after taking so long to get to us, and were not enjoyable in the slightest. During all of this, our waiter never came back to the table until we were all finished and had been waiting for the check. In order to get refills on drinks, we had to flag down the hostess, who was very polite. I would understand more if the place were busy, but there were only 3 other small tables seated when we arrived and only 3 others came in the 2 hours that we were there. This was overall a very disappointing experience, especially for $160, and we will definitely never be back.

Chicken and half of a waffle are garbage. Potatos are cold and soggy. When I tried to explain it to the manager She was rude and just walked away. But said she would take it off the bill, then the server came back and threw $25 onto the table in front of me and said I can't figure out how to take it off. Here's $25 dollars. That is why no one was there when we walked in. Will never go back. Do not recommend this place. And don't reply with your cut and paste reply... everyone that has had a bad experience, you say the same thing, not a sorry or anything.

WAY overpriced. Portions were small, food was poor quality, service was sub par, took over five minutes to get our drink order taken and there were only three other tables, everything was over priced. Over $100 for lunch for two adults and one child. It looks like a mom and pop diner, but charges like a high end steakhouse, beware

We walked in this past weekend. There were only a couple of customers, so it wasn't busy. No one greeted us, no one said "I'll be right with you." The staff looked at us without a single smile, not one word, not even a simple hello. Left us standing there. We waited a while, so walked out. Reminded me of the Pretty Woman movie scene where the girl was kicked out of the boutique. A different location was warm & welcoming to us. I'm the kind of person who goes to the same restaurants when I return to Fredericksburg. This place obviously didn't want my business, so I won't return.

Loved this place until today. We don't get away from the kids much. Apparently you do get service unless you order food. Server kept running past us . We just wanted to have a few drinks. Enjoy the patio. Apparently this isn't the place for that. Very disappointed. I really have enjoyed this place. Their excuse was the dinning room was full. That was bullshit. Maybe half full. Maybe.

Called at 12:22 PM and made a reservation FOR 4:30. The call shows on my phone log. But, when we arrived they had no reservation in my name and refused to believe I had ever made the call. So, they put us on the list for a 45 minute wait. We walked over to the bar to have a beer while we waited, the bartender greeted us and said “I’ll be right with you”, but after waiting about 10 minutes, we had had enough. They were not prepared to be open on Christmas and should have kept the place closed as they were on Christmas Eve day.

Myself, wife, and daughter ate here on 10/4/25. We were seated promptly but our server Eddie started off slow to greet us. I ordered black coffee, after my wife got her drink and several minutes of no coffee he said he was brewing it fresh. A minute later I see a table getting refills with a pot. A few minutes later I get my coffee and it’s ice cold and super weak. But now I have to wait on Eddie again. I ordered a beer. Menu states all breakfast comes with biscuits and hasbrowns so we decided to give our daughter one each from our plate. Food comes and guess what no biscuit or hasbrowns we are setting here watching all the food come with these on the plate even some people that came after us. Eddie states there baking fresh biscuits. I ordered chicken and waffles. It comes with a small ramekin of white gravy no syrup. I order syrup. He brings another tiny ramekin. At this point still no biscuits or hasbrowns as promised. My wife takes daughter to restroom we decide to just have him pack up the long awaited biscuit. As I’m waiting I see plates come out with guess what biscuits. Eddie arrives with check didn’t take coffee off. Time to wait on Eddie again. Eddie continues to make excuses that the kitchen is back up, mind you it’s not even busy, no wait, no line, still empty tables. Eddie comes back, my wife next, still no biscuit as she gets passed with a plate of them to another table. Eddie still says there are no biscuits ready. We payed and left and went else to feed our daughter. Honestly the food wasn’t that bad but the service was terrible. We didn’t want to make a scene. I still tipped 20%. Sorry for the long review.

The food lacked flavor and some of it was inedible. I got a chicken fried steak: took a couple of bites and didn’t eat anymore due to a funny taste. Found out why it seemed a little off when I threw up in my bathroom about an hour later. Mashed potatoes were drenched in butter and had a strange liquid/ very loose, yet gritty texture? It was kind of confusing. One family member got the fried chicken here: no flavor and they couldn’t eat much of it either. My sister got the quail, and she wasn’t able to eat most of it. Of course it’s a game bird, but it was exceptionally tough. She said the Brussels sprouts were decent. Our server was nice enough, so there’s that. I don’t think it was worth the money.

I thought this place would be the tradition spot for me and my fiancé as we went last year on Dec 31st for new years of 2023 into 2024 and had a blast! We were super excited to go all the way to the restaurant and recreate what a great time we had last year but..the atmosphere changed..they charged people 75 to basically 80 dollars for a seat insides for the “dine in experience” and a service that would be out of this world..we couldn’t believe that they had done this but still believed it was going to be a great experience for us..but we decided to just dine regularly with the establishment..we got to the owner and she said we can either eat inside or outside..we decided to eat outside due to the little seating inside either way..it was cold with only 2 heaters that barely heated the plastic barrier..or even anyone at all...we ordered chicken fried steak and a steak..no seasoning..the food took 40 minutes and we were sad that our favorite spot had treated us like this on New Year’s Day..I wanted to speak to the manager and she didn’t even come out to talk to us like last year...the server was very awkward with us and ran away from us mid confrontation..we were puzzled and heart broken..we no longer have a new years spot and we will probably dine with the restaurant across the street. Note: these are the pics from 2023 going into was 2024..they gave us party hats free! And the atmosphere was astounding! The food was fresh and the experience was unforgettable..it’s only a memory now to us that we will never forget..with the menu changed and prices up by 3 to 5 dollars..we can only remember..how nice it was before..

Unfortunately this was the only restaurant open on Christmas as we were driving through Fredericksburg. It started off fine with our waiter, Ryan. Four tables that sat after us got their food before us and our "hand-cut" fries came to our table cold. It should be advertised as a handful of frozen fries. We had to ask for napkins and silverware three times. Ryan placed our order correctly but it did not come out the way we placed the order. He read back the order to the best of his ability and just looked at the order. Needless to say our request for the two orders of mashed potatoes that were supposed to come with our order never made it to our table. A runner that brought one order of mashed potatoes told us the other order would be right out. When we waved down Ryan to let him know, since he had been avoiding our table, he snapped back with a response you told the hostess you did not want them. Which we had no interaction with the nice hostess after seating us. When we asked to speak with a manager Ryan became irritated and sent her to our table. It became a bit of he said she said game that as a guest and a grown adult I was not going to engage in this nonsense. The manager did give a bit of a discount, offered a dessert and could not wait for us to leave. We will not be returning nor will we ever recommend this place. Actually I'll be sure to let people know about our experience.

Went on Thanksgiving. Hostess was sweet and accommodating. Then, the manager or owner came and told us that if we were not eating turkey we would have to wait longer. She made us feel unwanted. When we were seated, our waiter Jessie was very good but our food was not. Our mashed potatoes and green beans came out cold. The chicken fried chicken was tough and dry. Definitely will not be going back. Too many other good places to go near there

Our waiter Ryan was amazing! Not only was he waiting on us, but he was also waiting on a table of 16. He was very attentive & kind & kept coming back asking if we needed anything, even though he was busy with the big party of 16. Thank you Ryan for making my husband's birthday more enjoyable!
