Nice and quiet environment. They have steak, pizza, wings, and most important of all beer. Plenty of food for the kiddos!Good place for family fun.
what great food!! nice place, the staff was very friendly, always asking if we needed again, my meal was excellent!! sausage and peppers parmigiana!! my sins pizza was so good!! I will be back!!
I was really impressed with the quality of food here. The dishes were very tasty, and the cook even came out to see how everything tasted. The service was good and the prices weren't out of this world. I will eat here again
Olive Garden can only wish to be this good at making Italian dishes. The fettuccine alfredo with chicken was phenomenal! You can appreciate the Italian music as you enjoy the great taste of Italy served by a very friendly staff.
Love this place! All the food is awesome! The chicken calibres and prima pasta tortellini are my 2 first picks! Philly cheese steak is amazing too!
Great, authentic food! Very reasonable prices and huge quantities. Order the garlic olive oil to go with your bread. You're welcome! Waitress was excellent!
Never had a bad meal here. Their pizza is the best on town. Fettuccini alfredo fan? Look no further, theirs is amazing. And the homemade bread melts in your mouth.
No wait, great food, Alfredo was creamy and salad and bread were fresh.
As a visiting Soldier, I've had their delivery and sat in the restaurant, both were great. A local business with a various menu. Pizza, wings, sandwiches, pastas, calzones, yum! My only complaint is that I can't find their menu online. What? I understand the local city of Gatesville might not demand it, but visitors need it!
The portions here are amazing!! The food is delicious!! The most authentic Italian food in Texas I have ever had!! I had the Stromboli and I haven’t had Stromboli this good since I lived in Jersey!! AH-MAZING!!
Let me tell y’all something... never judge a book by its cover ok.. not from Gatesville so don’t know anything about the town but from what i can tell the whole town is pretty dated such as this random hole in the wall restaurant.. so when getting on google to browse what to eat i come across this hidden gem. Pulling up to the place like i said, it didn’t look like much...but oh my goodness when i tell y’all this place had the BEST STEAK from a restaurant I’ve ever had!! Man it was superb! And the wait staff was super friendly and nice..the waitor was very informative about menu items and knew his food and how to pronounce all the Italian dishes lol but seriously give this place a chance! You won’t regret it
Great food and wonderful service, our waitress was so nice and even when my daughter spilled a drink everywhere she was sweet and understanding. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and good service!
I have been eating there since the summer! OMG!! I will never order Italian food from anywhere else!! I absolutely LOVE their Chicken Marsala!!!! We have tried several items, steak, chicken Alfredo, spaghetti several different ways, chicken Parmesan, pizza, soups!!! All have been delicious!! Service is great and staff is sweet! We will only go here for Italian!!
Friendly efficient service, tasty food...the Tony's salad and Avocado chicken salad are my faves but pizza, pasta and steaks are delicious. Yummy warm bread brought complimentary to your table with butter. Spacious dining area that makes me feel safe and staff wear masks.
Very good food and great service. Ask for their garlic herb oil to dip your bread. If you're a garlic lover you wont regret it. I'll also mix a few drops of balsamic vinegar in a separate batch and go back and forth. Its BYOB so grab your favorite bottle of wine and they'll put it on ice for you!
Have only been there once. Heard the pizza was outstanding and we haven't had pizza in over a year since my husband contracted salmonella from another pizza place in town. We tried this pizza and lived it. It wasn't greasy, and that nasty marinara wasn't over used on it. We WILL be going back.
I order pick up every time but my food is always made right and ready before the time they give me. Hands down best pizza in town at an affordable price. Calamari is my favorite appetizer. Defiantly worth your time and money to pay this place a visit.
We ordered the lunch spacial! It was amazing! The waitress was very good.
I think Prima Pasta is by far the best restaurant in Gatesville! The food is absolutely amazing every time I go there. The only thing I can't say I love is the chairs, not comfortable at all but I would sit on a cactus to get to eat Prima Pasta!
The food was delicious! The bread will melt in your mouth. The server Madison was very kind and attentive. Great dining experience! Definitely will be back.
Outstanding service! Great food! And able to handle a bunch of people on no notice! 15 of us! We will definitely come back to eat with y'all when we are in Gatesville again! Highly recommend!
We are at NFH and tired of the army chow. Its about a 45 minute wait, but very much worth it. Phenomenal meal! It was great, what can I say. Really great meal and the cheesecake was awesome. Thanks Prima Pasta!!!
Absolutely delicious! The spinach dip was so good that by the time our meal came, I was so full, hehe
Had the chicken Alfredo and it was excellent.
Very good and tasty place! Very kind and polite personal. We will see us again!!
This place is amazing! Great food, great delivery. I am stuck on North Ft Cavazos and they delivered very quick, and the pizzas are larger than you get from the other delivery places, less expensive also!!! The delivery driver was friendly and helpful ( saved the day by picking up a birthday cake also)!!!
Wonderful food, nice atmosphere and great service. I had the chicken salad, it was romaine lettuce, spinach, Avocado, black olives, grilled chicken....etc. Husband had spaghetti and meat sauce. The rolls were good and our waitress was very attentive. The tiramisu and Italian cream cake were a wonderful way to end our meal.
This place is truly a local gem! The food is great and way exceeded my expectations. The prices are very reasonable and everything I have tried has been really good. I'm no Italian food expert but I have had my share from all ranges of places and I think this is pretty authentic Italian food. When I need something fast the pizza is always the best in town. I get the XXL with pepperoni and sausage and it's about $14.
Excellent restaurant with quick service, even for a large group! I would love to try it again when I'm not grabbing a quick bite as part of a meeting. The cheesesteak was one of the best I've tasted: fresh, flavorful, and had a light crunch in the roll.
Not very busy at all, server was nice but didn't seem like many people worked here. Both of my daughters ordered the chicken alfredo and one took an extra 10 mins to come out while everyone else had their food. My youngest had the spaghetti and meatballs, my hubby and i shared a pizza and it was phenomenal. The alfredo was good also, don't get the sweet tea it wasn't sweet at all even added sugar and it still didn't taste right, other than that it was good i highly recommend the pizza tho
I just moved back to Gatesville recently and decided to treat my dad and step mom to a meal. Best pizza I've had in a long time and my parents enjoyed their meals as well. Waiter was fantastic and attentive. Overall I loved this place and will likely eat here again some time!
Family enjoyed the comfortable dine in atmosphere. Great bread was brought to the table and enjoyed by all. We enjoyed tasty thin crust pizza, one was a cheese and the other has sausage and pepperoni. Definitely will be eating here again.
The light fixtures are old world and the interior is warm and cosy. The bread is great, We love it with either the marina or spinach dip.
Excellent food and service! I am the adventurous eater in my family and had the special...shrimp sognidora...simply amazing! My husband and son, very traditional, had chicken parmesan that was delicious and beautiful. Prices are very reasonable, servings are large, menu is extensive. Don't miss this place!
Spinach, Chicken, Cheese tortellini alfredo! *chefs kiss* First time having prima pasta but I will be going into the restaurant next time, this time was catered. It was all delicious!
I have eaten at this place for years and love the food! Italian food is great and the steaks are fantastic!!! The service is great. The owner will make right if you have a problem, just ask for him. As to the poster with service animals, do your rights supersede all other diners at a restaurant? I for one do not want a service dog near my table while dining. If you had been refused service, that would have been discrimination, however, you were accommodated and served in a manner consistent with most dining establishments.
Prima Pasta is probably the best Italian I've ever had. Ate there for the first time tonight. Called a carry out order, but should've ate in because the atmosphere was really nice. Had the chicken parm, which was amazing, but my wife had the chicken tuscany which was even better. Great service, even better food, and the price wasn't bad at all.
The food was good especially the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, I had to pay extra for chicken and broccoli 2 dollars each so total for that was 17 bucks spent 31 and some change altogether. So yeah kinda pricey but worth it. Also the inside looks so nice like it always has been there yrs ago. Oh and I am totes choosing the soup again over the salad I personally don't like their Italian dressing so I skip the salad but their soup was outstanding. Plus meal comes with nice warm bread great for dipping.
We had a work meeting in Gatesville & Prima Pasta catered our lunch. Their food is always exceptional & I have ate inside at their restaurant a few times. Very clean & friendly atmosphere. Shout out to Eva for always taking care of our catering needs for World Finance. We so appreciate you.
Took my daughter today for lunch. The food is very good!! And the portions are great. We both really want to go back again. Please check this restaurant out. You won't be disappointed.
Had a great experience. Ordered by phone for pick-up. Staff was prompt in greeting me, after giving my name. Food was brought up quickly. The price was fair. We purchased 3 pizzas & a sandwich. All were as ordered. Being our 1st time ordering we were skeptical. But they delivered a top notch service. The pizza was delicious. There pepperoni is absolutely yummy!. Cheese was plentiful. We took the food home so no in dinning experience. Thank you and the Staff for an excellent experience!
Loved the rock walls. Our waitress was the best. Very attentitive and on top of everything. I am fairly indexisive and her suggestions were great. Next time your craving pasta give this place a try !
We were in town for an event. This restaurant is located on the same property as a motel so we really weren't expecting much but needed to eat dinner before our event. It's a large restaurant with a nice atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we were there for an early dinner but our waitress was friendly and efficient. Our pastas arrived in good time and both were delicious, served with generous portions of tasty bread. Prices are reasonable. You can pay with cash or card. However, the 3% card processing fee is added to your bill if using that payment method. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience and will definitely return if in town again.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and greetings were warm and sincere. Kristy was our server and a delight. The food was wonderful. If we are ever back in Gatesville we will definitely stop by again!
They have Amazing Italian food. Very nice place to sit down and have a fancy dinner, but it a person choose not to they have delivery. The plates are customable, they try to allow people to take out and add ingredients that are chosen by the customer. Never have had in issue with service. They get your food in a timely manner for dine in and take out. The rolls and cheese cake here are amazing. And with the rolls you can add 8 more with 1$
My family and I have eaten here many times and always been completely satisfied with their service and all the different dishes we've had are delicious! I highly recommend eating here.
Best food I've ever had. Real authentic cuisine and hit this place up every time we get a chance to eat out... absolutely our family Favorite!
Get used to this when you eat here!!! My gosh!!! Delicious fresh Italian food!! I have traveled around the world and I always look to eat at local family owned restaurants so I can get a great taste of the original recipes, so it came to my surprise to find this hidden gem at Gatesville, Texas... Who would've thought!!? We came on a business trip, needed something to eat, and landed here without any clue. We're leaving with a happy stomach and very pleased with the outstanding friendly service 🙏🙏 Thank you Telina!! You made our meal quite an experience, we'll be back on our next trip and spread the word with our partners 👌👌
Prima pasta is the only Italian food place in Gatesville. Loved by locals. Right next to a motel. The Italian pasta and baked dishes and bread are delicious on multiple visits over the years. Nice dining room. Service is great. Takeout orders are ready on time, correct and complete. The one time we tried their Buffalo chicken pizza, it was drenched in vinegary liquidy hot sauce and inedible, ending up on the trash (we usually love buffalo chicken pizza).
I almost passed on this place. The photography of menu items didn't look great and the building looks like it is an add on to the Days Inn right across from it..... That is until you walk inside. The interior has a beautiful glass faced wall with rustic wooden beam structure. The electric lights are dim and the natural light is plentiful, making for a romantic environment. I seldom give 5 stars, but I love Italian food and here the quality is great and the portions are huge! Due to it being in the evening when we dined here, the lights were dim and so I took no photos of the meals. All in all, we will be coming here again! One shocking thing about this place is that the menu is absolutely huge! I didn't count, but I'd estimate about 60 items.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Prima Pasta in Gatesville, TX! The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and craving great Italian food with warm service!
My foodie travelers here's a local spot that is a must try. The server was very soft spoken but polite and got everything right. Now the food was pretty good and flavorful. Be hungry as they start you off with bread and butter. The bread could use some garlic flavor. The Vera shrimp pasta with lemon sauce was great and fulfilling! The meat Stromboli was huge so be prepared. Just stop in and try it.
I order from them tonight and the delivery minimum was $20 and the Ribeye was $20 so it just made sense. Well this place was definitely representing Texas with this steak I had to work to eat it all. It was wonderful. Thank you. I also got Teramasu because it was affordable and it was pretty big I halfed it with my friend. I would 100 percent recommend this place I can't say that everything they serve is great but definitely everything I ordered was. Thank you Prima Pasta for a wonderful meal. You have a regular customer now.
The staff was friendly and the food was delicious, except for the overooked canoli. The canoli shell was not edible. I had to break it apart to get to the filling. The canoli is the only reason for 4 stars. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal. I will return. Will probably avoid the canoli, which is too bad, because it's difficult to find a good one.
I ordered a cheese calzone and I thought it was delicious! I love their dressing for the caesar salad, and the salad was fresh. It was a little bit of a long wait but I didn't mind. Our server was really nice, he seemed like a cheerful guy!
Staff is always pleasant, I would've gave 5 stars but I had an issue with one waitress. I had a Togo order she said she would check on it, I waited 20 minutes and another waitress asked if I was being helped and I told her the scenario, not even 20 seconds after the 2nd waitress went to check the kitchen for my food the 1st waitress walked by made eye contact and said nothing she just continued to serve drinks to a table that walked in 5 minutes after myself.
The food is ok, wife liked the veal and the chicken wings are decent.
My go-to meal is the chicken avocado salad with house dressing. The chicken is always juicy and grilled to perfection. Their pizzas are amazing too, for those times when I want to splurge on some extra calories!
Great service, hefty portions, LOVED the appetizer sausage, fresh baked bread, and the veal was delicious! Minus a star: would have enjoyed a glass of wine but they do not sell alcohol.
The service was great! My daughter's fettuccini carbonara was good. The marinara on my spaghetti was a little sweet for my preference but the bread could be a meal in itself. So good!!
Almost empty, from outside looks like the offices of the hotel, and you don't know where the parking lot is. Need another color outside to get attention. Food is okey, service was good.
Very friendly and personal staff, if they know you they know you. They are always happy to see you when you arrive. Food is always good made to order and delivered by the staff with a smile. I always recommend the Philly cheese steak, and their pizza isn't bad either. Dining area is always clean. Definitely a place to get some Italian food.
I think it's a very nice place to eat. The food has always been good and reasonably priced. The service has always been good. I just don't think alot of out of town people doesn't know about it. Has alot of potential if the word about it was out there.
We ordered food to go this Saturday night. Waited maybe 20 minutes although might have been less. My husband got the Shrimp Marinara which he absolutely loved and he is pretty picky. We also got the chicken Alfredo which was okay but needed a little something. The rolls were soooo good. Will definitely be back.
Prima Pasta in Gatesville is our "go to" place. Always good!
our second weekend in a row visiting Prima Pasta. The bread is good! But the garlic butter is a little salty, might consider using garlic powder instead of garlic salt to make it. I like the fact that they use angel hair pasta on the veal parmigiana and on the piccata but they need to drain the angel hair a little longer as it tends to come out wet. Wonderful Italian cream cake for dessert both times! I didn't last long enough to take a picture of it. ...Oh, and the house vinaigrette is very interesting! We have had the same waitress both times, hello Jayden (sp?), She is new to the restaurant business but is learning quickly!
We've been going to this location for about ten years, atleast once a year as our family comes out to visit every year. Right off noticed the sausage and sauce appetizer was different. Found out the ownership had changed. Food was not the same. Veal portions smaller. Sadly, disappointed.
The noddles were soggy and greasy. Awful taste, have never left pasta on the dish, I'm a pasta freak and this was by far the worse i've ever tasted. I only picked out the few chicken pieces, didnt touch the pasta.
High prices, good food but they will not deliver during busy hours. You can wait 2 hours for delivery. Either deliver within 30 minutes or stop offering delivery. Deserts are out of a box.
Food is always great. Hot, full of flavor and just wonderful. Waitresses are no where near up to par. Never around, drinks empty, lost. Seems like they can't remember what they was hired to do. Hopefully this will change one day.
Some dishes are better than others and some didn't meet expectations. Starting off the meal was a basket full of fresh baked bread which was pretty good. The chicken and noodle soup was extremely salty, to the point where we stopped a few spoonfuls into it. The trio appetizer with shrimp, calamari and cheese sticks again was too salty with the exception of the cheese sticks. Of the 5 different dishes ordered we all enjoyed the Lasagna and the Chicken Parmesan but not very happy with the Veal Picata, Penne Vodka or the Salmon Picata. Both Picata dishes were overwhelmed with capers and the Penne dish was said to be a bit on the soupy side. The prices and service were decent but overall the dishes left us a little disappointed.
Got the veal parm, the break looked and tasted like a frozen patty you'd get from a bag at heb tbh. The bread was to die for and the sauce on the dish was great. I got the pink vodka sauce instead of the red. Pasta was cooked well. Overall good, just don't get the break and expect to much
We ordered steaks with potato...we were asked if we wanted broccoli too....we were not asked if we wanted sound or salad so we assumed this was the only vegetable. I shouldn't have left a tip. But the service was good...just wasn't given any other option which apparently there was.
Food was okay. Authentic, it is not. Server did not know what a caprese salad is. Red gravy was all tomato with no other flavor. No garlic, no basil, etc.
First of all our little server was very sweet but she did not know her menu. I ordered a prima salad with bleu cheese. She thought it came with chicken so I didn’t get my salad before the meal. We ordered a ribeye with the mushrooms to split. We asked about sides and were told the steak came with a salad and baked potato or broccoli. The baked potato was awful AND we were charged $5 for it. The sauce on the steak was way too salty. When we mentioned about the potato at the front when we paid out we were told it was clearly marked on the menu. No apology or comp. Needless to say we will not be returning. That’s a shame too because the steak would have been good if it wasn’t too salty and we had an actual steak knife instead of a butter knife.
I have always loved there food, until this time. I could only eat a few bites of the sampler I ordered. There was something wrong with the taste of it.
The first time, it was okay. Loved the inside of the building, not beautifully decorated, just loved the building structure inside. It appeared semi fancy, then a plain sad looking salad, and the rolls were hard. Meatballs were really small for the huge hoagie it came out on. My veal parmigiana, I don't think it was breaded, or had any type of cheese on it, and it was all mixed up with the noodles and a bit over board on the sauce, really runny. It will be awhile before I go back.
This place was a solid 3 on all accounts. The food I ordered was good, not great. I had the salmon with a side salad. The salad was just iceberg lettuce with dressing. The salmon was tasty but very overcooked. The atmosphere and service was mediocre. It was a nice place and the service was okay but nothing wonderful. If you are in Gatesville, this place you can take or leave.
XXL pepperoni pizza was pretty good , but very greasy. The pasta lacked on sauce. Ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo WITH shrimp and got angel hair ‘Alfredo’ with only shrimp and no chicken. Ordered 3 sides, 2 soups and a salad and only got 1 soup and it was supposed to be potato soup and had only remnants of onion and super greasy broth that tasted like shrimp. It gave me the impression that when they made the shrimp for the day, they drained the juice into a bowl and called it soup broth. Also, no potatoes ;( the cannoli is small for nearly $5 but it was decent. I ordered a drink and got mostly ice and 3 sips of soda and it was gone. This place means well, but could do a lot better. Take this criticism as a chance to improve your service. The delivery driver was awesome, dude with long blonde hair and drove a vw was kind and called when he arrived.
Me and my family have eaten here several times. The chicken Alfredo is extremely bland. The pizza is pretty good. However tonight I ordered chicken carbonara( which I’ve gotten multiple times), they sent me chicken Alfredo. Instead of delivering the correct meal they made my husband go there to exchange it. Then proceeded to give me chicken Alfredo with ham in it. Still tasting very blah. The place only has teenagers working the front who are more concerned with sitting and talking to their boyfriends then helping customers. Extremely disappointed and don’t know if I’ll be back.
I have been coming to Prima Pasta for over 15 years now. My husband and I celebrate our anniversary there every year. I have never been disappointed before tonight. Our waiter was very under trained and I felt bad for him, as he was unfamiliar with the menu and on bussing his table, which was not done at all. We ordered ribeye steaks, medium rare and medium well and they were both cooked to medium, still tasty so I did not complain. However when the fully loaded potatoes came with burned cheese on top and no other fixings but butter I complained, our salads had old over ripened tomatoes to the point of them being mushy, and the salad consisted of just that one thin slice of tomato and lettuce with a few spinach leafs. When I asked for sour cream the old waiters assured me that they have not given sour cream for over 20 years now, in a very argumentative way. I do not go out of my way to drive to Gatesville to celebrate what was supposed to be a good time with my husband only to pay 25.00 a piece for steks incorrectly cooked, and substandard food. I have loved this place for years, buy unfortunately like it's current condition of torn chairs and dirty atmosphere the service matched. And I will more than likely not return.
Bland, subpar food. Don't get the Pasta Sampler! Comes as a big blob with melted cheese in the middle. Very unappetizing and confusing. The salmon was slightly undercooked and also very bland. Our plates were still full, we'd have just left it but we spent over $55 on the meal. Only thing good was dessert. We've tried them twice but sorry, we won't be back.
Me and a few friends ordered from this restuarant having ordered from them before. The food is good, but their communication and service is not. We were waiting 2 hours for our food (calling them around the 45 minute mark and again at the hour and a half mark and one last time at the two hour mark). They did not call us at all throughout the 2 hours and we had to eventually call THEM back to get our refund. I can understand delivery being late, but not bothering to communicate that to the customer is just bad service especially with how long we were waiting.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. apparently the business was sold a few months ago and owners moved to NY. The server Summer knew nothing about the menu nor did she eat anything per her quote and for good reason. The veal piccata that my friend ordered had these capers that were down right disgusting and the veal itself so heavily salted it was unbearable. We ordered Italian sausage and grilled mushrooms that were drenched in garlic and salt it was gross. I ordered chicken caprese that was a mix between alfredo and I dunno....it was not good. I asked if they had dipping sauce for bread and server said nope. I will never go back nor advise anyone else to, even the table next to us was sending food back.
Ordered a chicken Alfredo, they brought me a grill chicken salad when I mentioned it to the waiter all he said was that's what a chicken Alfredo looks like here, it definitely doesn't look like this at the prima pasta in my home town, very disappointed!
I didn’t have a good experience, don’t recommend it, first of all the whole place was hot, the food lacked flavor, and I got sick from the food. I won’t be returning any time soon. The only positive thing was that our waitress was nice.
Ordered delivery to North Ft Hood, feel like we are the dumping pot for garbage. Wilted lettuce, pasta order was ALL wrong, and over cooked and over salty. I would recommend pizza hut before i recommend this place.
It's Fair Bread Over Cooked Water Down Pasta Use To Have Very Good Pizza But It's Gone Down Hill But It's Italian Food All I Can Say.
Their food looked yummy but after reading countless reviews, this restraint can go under since it clearly wants to. A 1 hour wait for delivery is absolutely absurd much less 2-3 or forced cancelations like they regularly seem to have. If you don't want to deliver stop! If you don't want to make good food get out of the food industry! This is a small town and taking advantage of people because your "the only one" in town is unexpected!
First time ordering from here and unfortunately it will be my last. Website is not easy to order from and you have to keep going to "home" to add anything and no description or list of ingredients on anything. A Ceasar salad does NOT come with tomatoes, croutons, and a banana pepper. The pasta was way over cooked. I ordered sliced sausage and it came drowning is a red sauce that is very gross and super greasy. And seriously... $4.50 for 2 dinner rolls instead of the garlic bread I ordered??? The gal that delivered it was nice. That's about the only nice thing I can say. No cutlery, no napkins.
