Very cool place and atmosphere. Honestly the BEST chicken fried steak I have had in years. It was crispy breaded with a great crunch and it was actual steak, not pressed meat like many other places. I desecrated a bite and took a picture without breading on it to show its actual meat. The green beans were fresh and sauteed well. Amazing food. Service is great, too. I'll be coming back with the family to try out that play area!

Went on a Thursday and service was fast. They have a good selection of beer and the fish and chips was good. I would take my son here if they had a play place with slides and swings.

Love Camp Brightside! Probably the best family restaurant anywhere close to Santa Rita. The amount of space for the kids to play is amazing, and the wiffle ball field is the coolest thing that I never thought we'd have nearby. Can't recommend it enough!

Great little spot with good food and good outdoor space. We came by for dinner and to play outside. The food was good, burger and onion onion rings were solid. Not exceptional but very good. My wife had the shrimp and grits , it was very rich but also good. The outdoor surface is awesome, tvs for games, corn hole, a stage and a huge whiffle ball field with turf covering the entire outside. It's a great family spot and we'll certainly return.

Good food, fun vibe, good customer service, and family friendly. They had live music which was enjoyable too. Turf yard at the back with lots of TV. Inside and outdoor dining. Small wiffle ball area. Definitely recommended to enjoy.

Jackson seems to always be there when I stop in. He is fantastic! Very attentive and knows what I drink because it's sitting on the bar before I can even get there. I've ordered many things from the menu, but the brussel sprouts are my favorite appetizer, and the chicken fried steak is my favorite entree.

I went to lunch with a group and the place wasn't busy. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. I had fish and chips and it was great, oncluding the seasoned fries. Waitress had no problem taking individual payment from each person in the group.

Good service. Good food….EXCEPT for the nachos. More a sloppy salad with chicken cubes piled on top of tortilla chips and chunks (rather than slices) of green pepper and onion. And the cheese sauce was more like milk: runny and flavorless.

After reading the reviews, we still decided to give it a shot, twice, and had positive experiences both times; even though both times I was waiting for the "other shoe to drop" based on some of those horrible reviews. I know, people tend to either give 5 or 1 star reviews; you guys stop that! Having said that, I do not give out "5 stars" lightly, but based on our experiences, it is a solid 4; I reserve the right to change it later... The first visit we had the Fried Chicken Plate (and it was amazing) and the Signature Burger. I think the chef is afraid of seasoning because (and I have never had to do this) I actually had to salt my burger at the table. The fries are good, but again, almost no seasoning. Second visit: lipstick on the glass of wine. We had the Classic Burger (great!) and the Westside chicken "burger" (also great). I asked for extra aioli for my fries and a tiny plastic thumbnail came out half full -- but our server, Shawn, took care of me and went back for more. Chefs: care about presentation and your end-user...dude, it matters; watch "Diners, DriveIns, and Dives" and see how enthusiasm is reflected to a customer -- if you don't have it, you're in the wrong line of work. So, we had good, timely, service both times that we went on a Saturday afternoon -- it was moderately busy both times. Shawn and Ashley were good to us -- you guys are the face of the company, management needs to pay attention to that, I hope they take good care of you. I sure hope management reads these reviews: all those recorded "bad" experiences can't always be explained away with "victim blaming"... just sayn.

A delightful new addition to local restaurants! Arrived early to beat the lunchtime rush (thankfully). Greeted quickly and took our drink order. I ordered the Classic burger which comes with delicious seasoned fries. This burger was delicious, slightly charred on the outside and juicy and perfectly done on the inside…a great burger! My partner had the chicken sandwich, he said it was very good just a little messy to eat, fries included. The only downside which is minor and they are new is it took a little while to get our lunch and the ice tea is quite weak.

The service was great, the food came out quickly and was seasoned very well. The location gives people a variety of things to do to include corn hole and a live stage.

Cool family spot with good vibes and adequate outdoor space. The food is decent but not exceptional either. The drinks are mediocre, but not terrible. The staff’s young but polite. This is an order before you sit down establishment so just know you aren’t bent waiting on like your average resistant. Will definitely go back

Mixed reviews, but some look related to extra busy times. We had lunch today - busy, but not crazy. Food was good, hot and timely. We actually like the order line better than chasing down waitstaff. Hamburger was very good and wifey’s shrimp tacos were a hit. Will come back.

This place is more about the vibe than the food. The menu is pretty small, around 20 items and most of them are very basic. The food itself is decent but nothing particularly memorable, and it can take a while for it to come out. That said, the atmosphere is where this place shines. The outdoor area is really fun with games like cornhole and ping pong, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. I’d recommend coming here more for drinks and the experience, maybe eat beforehand if you’re looking for a great meal.

The space is great. The food is just ok. Heads up - they don’t allow dogs even know there’s a huge outdoor space. I can’t find mention of that online and they don’t pick up their phone so I couldn’t ask ahead of time.

Really disappointed in my meal last night. I ordered what had been my favorite Chicken Fried Chicken. It used to be served with a wonderful elote corn and delicious honey biscuits. It made the meal extra special and a real standout. The corn and biscuit have been replaced with a large serving of mashed potatoes. The large chicken breast has been replaced with a small chicken breast. Now its very ordinary and the plate looks kind of sad and empty

We were very disappointed. The experience was much better when it first opened. Busy Saturday, only 2 bartenders that clearly could not keep up. Condiments were empty, had to hunt down utensils. My fish and chips left something to be desired. The fish was rubbery and difficult to chew. The only saving grace was the chicken fried steak that my husband enjoyed though it was difficult to cut with a flimsy plastic knife.

Sad to have to update my review in a negative way. Initially I left a review that was pretty glowing considering how well they did for their soft opening. We've been numerous times since that point and each time it's steadily declining. They have gotten rid of menu items that were fantastic, although they still have some good options. The real area that has just been abysmal is service. Tonight was just the final straw. We literally waited 2 hours for really subpar food. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and avoided the general area aside from passing through maybe once every 45 minutes. I eventually just opened a tab at the bar and got my table their drinks because it was quicker than waiting for our server. Even the bar took a ridiculous amount of time and the bartenders seemed burned out trying to focus on restaurant orders over patrons at the bar. I really hope this place can get their act together. Something needs to be overhauled in the kitchen because it shouldn't take 2 hours for what my small party ordered and they need to work on training the wait staff to address customer concerns/issues rather than running and hiding away. It's going to be a while before we get up the nerve to try this place again.

Classic burgers and chicken sandwiches. Burgers were great. Chicken sandwiches great. Fries great. If you're going to upcharge for "Panko battered onion rings" please don't cheap out on what tasted like Walmart Frozen Onion Rings. The single ring below. Mine today. Not Panko. The rings with the burger. Older photo from the past. Not. The. Same. It's the little things that make the winning difference. Might seem petty, but this is what failed a meal for 6. Cheap shortcuts and misleading menu. It's fine to serve previously frozen beer battered rings. Just call it what it is. Chef rule #1: always better to have 5 star onion rings and a 3 star burger than a 5 star burger and 3 star rings. No problem unless the restaurant is not chef owned but investment operated. EVERYONE around here has a great burger. Why is it that Mighty Fine in Round Rock is the ONLY one around here with authentic onion rings? Do the math. Do the rings. People flock to MF for a mediocre burger and AMAZING hand dredged flour onion rings. #behonest.

I am not sure where to begin with Camp Briteside. All I can say, the entire experience was a disappointing, hot mess that stole hours from our evening. I’m not sure why we stayed… __________________________________ The Wait: We arrived. The place isn’t busy. Many tables sat empty inside and some of the patio furniture sections outside were open as well. We were told a 30-minute wait for a table. We waited at a picnic table outside in the wind. It took an hour to be seated. Outside. On patio furniture. I peeked back inside the restaurant and over 90% of the tables were empty. Short staffed, maybe? They seated us. We were a larger party and they shoved us together on a small outside patio table even though larger tables were open inside. It was cozy... Twenty minutes later, our server shows up for our drink orders. Some of us got our drinks. Some of the party didn’t get their drinks…until much later. Thirty minutes later, she takes our food orders. An hour later, we received our appetizers, and it took an hour and a half to receive our food. Expect a long wait. For everything. _______________________________ And How about That Service? Lacking. More than lacking… it’s terrible. That is, until the very end when we received our check and then our waitress gushed over us with attention and kindness (someone wanted a tip, maybe?). Prior to that, no one ever came to our table to check on us, refill our drinks, or see what we needed. No one paid any attention to us. Customer service is not a top priority here. ________________________________ Let’s Talk Food Not much to discuss here. Expect little and the food is mediocre at best. The orders were incorrect to top things off. The “chili” on the chili dog is more like taco meat. It has no sauce and has a strong taco flavor. The “chili” fries have the same problem. I wouldn’t call it chili. The wings were pretty tasty, though. ________________________________ The Atmosphere It’s a great place if you want to bring your kids to run around and play outside while you wait endlessly just for a drink and hours and hours for food. And those bathrooms…don’t get me started. Not one person in our party liked the concept of the “open concept” bathrooms. It’s just open to the restaurant for everyone to see, and with all those sinks…it’s awful with absolutely no sense of privacy. ________________________________ In the End Camp Briteside falls terribly short with their service, customer service, ridiculous waiting times, and mediocre entrees at best. I cannot recommend it. Unless you just want a place for your kids to burn off some energy and you don’t mind waiting hours and hours for a seat, food, or even just a refreshment while being invisible and ignored by the staff.

What a place to waste 200 bucks. We didn't even get drinks from the bar. It took over an hour to get our food. We got 2 steaks, so I expected a bit, but with hardly anyone in there, it shouldn't have taken that long. Then, when we did get the food, 1 steak had to be sent back because it was still "moo"ing and the other could have been used as a hockey puck or spare tire. (They were ordered the same way) The server seemed nice, but the service was HORRIBLE. We had to stand up to get attention to ask for refills, and then he never brought one. My hubby ate his whole meal without a drink. If you're looking for a place to get drunk, I'm sure this place would be fun. Just don't expect an edible meal.

Unfortunately the whole experience was bad. Serve yourself, get your own drinks, take out your own trash and clean your own table… and while you’re at it spend over $100 on mediocre food. I was disappointed with the overall experience. Lots of room for kids to play but very expensive for a “family friendly” restaurant.

Camp Briteside used to be a nice hang out spot and eatery with good food. But over the last year they have changed their business model claiming “efficiency” and shorter wait times by ordering at a kiosk and limiting their menu to burgers and other “bar food.” Now you wait in a 35 minute line to order followed by a 50 minute ticket times waiting for your food. Our food came out incorrect but after waiting over an hour for food we weren’t waiting another hour for it to be corrected. They did not have any rolled silverware so we were handed wet silverware straight from the container. Food is mid at best. But I guess you can’t expect much from a place being run by 3 teenagers with not a single manager in sight. The girls also had to take all the food orders, deliver food, and bus tables. Unfortunately won’t be back. Prices were also outrageous, $44 for a salad and sandwich, with no drinks is crazy.

We have been to this establishment a few other times and previously have enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. Tonight was a different story. We order our food and my fish (fish & chips meal) was half cold, with soggy fries. My husbands food was also cold. I wanted to let our server know but him and a few other employees were putting each other in headlocks and bending one another over the bar, laughing and being inappropriate. It made the table pretty uncomfortable. This was happening right in front of our table. The food was not cheap and the service was extremely poor and unprofessional.

I have liked Camp Briteside so much, but last night we were very disappointed. Mgmt. changed food service, we were in the order line for 35 minutes with a ticket time of 50 minutes. My shrimp salad was not delivered as ordered. It was meh. The menu was reduced so options are limited. A youngster at the order desk said changes were for efficiency. Nope, it was 100 times better before the change. I hope Camp Briteside will take this as intended and make changes. Interior was not full but I think outdoor space was full, little league stuff going in. Oh and get this, after the 35 minute wait in the order line, we had to order drinks at the bar, luckily, they were quick to serve.

Camp Briteside what happened??? We absolutely loved y’all when y'all first opened. We took all of our family and friends here because it was that good. The food was incredible, the service was okay (not the best but not the worst - except for the bar staff, they’re great), and the atmosphere was great. Now… it’s the complete opposite. The only thing y'all have going now is the atmosphere. Today was the first time we experienced the “new” system/layout. It was confusing and it didn’t help that no one explained anything, even after we made a comment “oh y'all changed a few things.” The menu was completely different as well. Ordering drinks was awkward. But the food…. What happened??? Every person at our table had something wrong with their order. And it didn’t help that we already paid for our order (thanks to the new system.) Camp Briteside was our favorite spot… but we won’t be back unless things go back the way it was in the beginning. We are crushed. 💔
