Great place, always beautiful bar tenders that get ya beer/ alcohol as soon as possible. The only thing negative i could say is that they could use another pool table

We LOVE Gary's Place! Sabrina was amazing juggling the bar alone and still giving us the very best serve! Loved our food, the other customers, and the warm and loving feeling of a place that is a true treasure!

This bar follows a simple formula of good drinks with a pool table at the back. However any place that is jumping on a Monday night clearly is doing something very right. Clientele and staff were both friendly and welcoming. Drink prices reasonable and swiftly served

Whether you're in for a drink or a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed. Gary's Place is a surprising culinary delight. The Reuben sandwich is grilled to perfection, the flatbread pizzas are great for kids or adults, and if you're thinking lighter fare the bread bowl of soup is a garlicky warm hug. Also, do not hesitate to order the poké bowl; I mean, do it now!!

One thing I absolutely love about Gary's. The guy at the door. You know the one who protects us keeps the young ones out. Of course. The 🍻 The singing the just overall loving way everyone seems to be with each other. Never waited to long for a drink. Big thumbs up from me. Jennifer W

Never disappoints! The food is great and Clay is one of the best bartenders in town.

I had such a good time here I forgot to take pictures. This is a classic gold rush town bar. Lots of televisions for sports game and a really long bar with plenty of seating. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are really friendly. When you walk in it looks like you’re in an old west bar. One thing you will notice you immediately lose cell phone service on the inside. I think this is because the ceiling tiles are made of copper which blocks out a lot of signal. In a way it’s nice not to have signal you can just focus on talking with friends and watching the football game. I highly suggest stopping in for a drink.

Was in town for business and decided to have a little fun singing karaoke at Gary’s. The town of Grass Valley has me sucked in. I’m from KY and I thought we had nice people but Grass Valley and Gary’s had some of the most down to earth, friendly, yet fun people. The bartender was/is a metal drummer, and a great and attentive bartender too! Go to Gary’s. You won’t regret it

Had a good time there. Bar tenders are pretty good. Nice they had some holiday drinks and karaoke night on Saturdays is fun. The outdoor seating is a great new addition. I'll definitely be going again. It does get a little cramped so I wish they had a bigger space but being able to sit outside is a plus.

We've been Garys several times in past. I figured we go in there and buy a drink and she could use the restroom. I look on their menu board and see the soup of the day was clam chowder so I order a bowl thinking it will be just ordinary clam chowder. I'm telling you straight up this was the BEST clam chowder I've ever had period hands down. Problem is I don't know if it's just a Friday thing, but I might be going back today and see if it on the menu. The clam chowder is OUTSTANDING A+ whoever is making it know their stuff.

First time coming to this place. It was a Monday and it was busy with a very active crowd. Lots of touchy feely regulars which isn't my thing, however everyone seemed friendly. Food service was quick and it was decent; I got the French dip which was nothing special, but the chicken noodle soup was really good! Drinks were good and fair priced. I also liked that the bathroom was clean and definitely a step up from other bars. I would like to come back on a weekend and see how it is then!

Had a good time there. Bar tenders are pretty good. Nice they had some holiday drinks and karaoke night on Saturdays is fun. The outdoor seating is a great new addition. Great place ihave a great night

The Black Currant Cider is exceptional. I had a French dip, tasty, but the horseradish is very mild. We also had a flatbread. Very cheesy, very filling.

I used to love kicking it here. The pool table was generally nice. Rudy was there sometimes. I had a blast.

Just a great place to have a good time, there is one bartender who small and fiesty! But thats ok i get it! I will support this establishment and kareoke is always fun here at garys

Havent seen many people my age but its a nice spot to stop bye for a drink. Every once and a whike the kereoke night is fun, a pool table and a music box too. All the necesities are in place

Just a local bar on the really newly done promenade downtown Grass Valley. Pleasantly surprised at the food it was excellent.

Don't go there if you are looking for a good variety of craft beers. The tri-tip sandwich and Reuben are excellent, as well as the trailer park tacos.

Our order was brought out without any fanfare and I noticed there were no Mac ‘n cheese balls. I checked my receipt and they were not on there, oh well.. Then we notice no spoon for the soup and no dressing on the salad. I make a trip inside to ask for both and the bartender had to go back to the kitchen and leave her bar customers waiting, I’m pretty she had to pour the dressing in the cup herself! The soup was pretty good, the salad was very mediocre with lettuce and a slice of old tomato. The pastrami on the sandwiches had more fat than actual lean meat, though tasty, it was kind of gross! The bar itself is in a great location and is really pretty cool and historic. Go to this place for beer and a snack rather than a meal.
