Everything prepared is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. My dining partner tasted the fresh salmon in her Asian Salmon Burger trio. The Steak Sandwich was best one in the NY Metropolitan area that I have ever had. I subbed the frites for a side salad. The Balsamic Vinaigrette made the salad. I have never tasted a better dressing. The Apple Tarte Tatin was also devine. The crowd was eclectic and casually dressed. I highly recommend Bar Frites for business or pleasure dining.

Please bring back the quiche for brunch and price fix lunch menu. Menu has been cut back so much and many of the past great French cuisine dishes are gone.

A busy local restaurant service standard American food:sandwich , pizza, burger, pasta with a touch of French /European cooking. It was busy even at 2 pm in a weekday afternoon . It's not particularly delicious, ( our order of grill calamari was cold ), but it's a place nearby to dine out. The outdoor patio/side walk seatings look casual and comfortable . We ate inside. Table was clean. Setting was classic . However, our server forgot to offer us the complimentary breads. And we had to ask for options of different dipping sauces. Our water glasses were empty. We had to call for water refill. The bus boy reach crossing the table over our food fill our glasses. He should have moved himself to reach the glasses . The manager should give him lesson 101 : how to serve dish properly 家附近的餐廳，吃膩家常菜的時候可以過來吃吃看

Not so easy to see right off of Northern Boulevard servicing Wheatley and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Clean facilities. Public Restrooms. Great for Brassiere Food like Steak Frites, escargot, and desserts. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back.

This was pretty good. I went for a business lunch. I ordered hangar steak medium, and it was over. My associate ordered pasta and she said it was a bit oily. I'm only dinging them 1 star because overall we enjoyed the food and would return, so no need to overreact. The dessert and coffee was very good. The atmosphere was the best part. We felt very relaxed, the service was prompt but unobtrusive, and we were able to enjoy the setting. We went on a good day so we opted to sit outside, which I really enjoyed. Price-wise it was a tad over for what you get, but again, I think within reason. I enjoyed this and would return. I could see this potentially being a really good date spot.

The host was unsmiling as we walked in. Enquired if we had a reservation (we didn’t) and just gestured us to follow him to the table. No smile. Didn’t say welcome. The food was above average though the pepper sauce that came with the fillet mignon au poivre was weak and overpowered by mushrooms. I had initially thought they gave us mushroom sauce by mistake. We also had the grilled calamari which was tasty. The calamari was cooked in a tasty sauce - too bad we were not served any bread to enjoy the sauce. Other reviews here mentioned that the bread was complimentary but you have to specifically ask for it. I wish our waiter had offered or mentioned the bread. We also provided feedback to our waiter and about the weak pepper sauce. He merely shrugged and walked away. That made us feel like unwelcome and bad for trying to provide feedback (as opposed to complaining). The deco and setup of the restaurant was lovely and reminisce of a traditional French restaurant. Pity about the service. This is a classic case of good hardware, buggy software.

After coming here for years and leaving a 5 star review pre-Covid I decided to come and re edit my review. Decor is beautiful but dated as some of the booths are showing their age ( lots of rips) and the music is played loudly. I don’t know if it’s by design to encourage quick eating but it’s definitely hard to hear the staff or others even across the table. To the food: still one of the best escargots I’ve ever had, addicting pomm frites and great sandwiches. Bread is included upon request and they have daily specials that taste wonderful. With it being warmer weather and the doors open for outdoor seating however they have a serious fly problem. While it was only 70 degrees today I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they came in from outside and not wandering around other places. The real issue this location has is with the service staff as others have pointed out. Years ago we had a staff member tell us as college students “ don’t worry about the price we can work it out” when the bill was presented . Mind you at no point was price mentioned as an issue. So horrified and insulted was my friend that I had to calm my friend down from a screaming match with the waiter who showed no remorse or understanding… safe to say we paid in cash, left a 10% tip and personally requested never to have that server again… haven’t seen him in years… fast forward to today … my table doesn’t order drinks but does order apps and dinner. The water server showed better manners and were more attentive. Our server tonight was borderline antagonistic , patronizing towards our ladies, and treated us with contempt for not ordering drinks or dessert. Maybe he was tired and was ready to go home? I know we’ve all been there before. Hopefully next time I go that isn’t an issue and I can update my review again at that point.

🦋Made reservation. 🦋inside & outside dining available. 🦋Came here on a rainy Saturday evening dinner with the girls. So sadly, I had to dine inside. 🦋Moderately reasonable prices. 🦋 Very crowded that day. Not a relaxed atmosphere or quiet ambiance. It definitely gets full. I kept getting my chair or myself bumped as staff moved in between tables. Also, when large families were leaving the place... one person even asked if i could get up so they could pass. 🦋they should make more space between tables. It's not pleasant at all. 🦋staff were attentive and courteous. 🦋bread with oil for the table 🦋we call enjoyed our cocktails. My espresso martini was perfect. I got it twice. 🦋salad was good. 🦋I got the salmon sliders... they were nothing special. Just salmon inside a bun. It needed sauce and more flavoring. Just had one slider... 🦋tacos were alright. 🦋my girlfriend's trout was delicious! I tried a piece, and it was cooked perfectly with the right sauce and all. Definitely recommend. 🦋the mashed potatoes side were perfect as well. Ate the entire plate. Overall, I recommend it.

My husband and I would dine at Bar Frites for years.. it was a go to spot for us when we were dating. We always knew it would be solid. Last night we figured we would visit for a date night as we haven’t been in a very long time and we always loved their outdoor seating. We left sooooo disappointed. Quality and portion size has gone wayyyyy down. It is not like it used to be. It’s very disappointing nowadays to be paying top dollar for a subpar meal. It’s unacceptable at this point.

I've been to Bar Frites numerous time in the last few months because the foods good and the drinks are good as well. But, after the third or fourth time going I started to realize a lot of things that were off. Does everyone know that you have to pay for them to bring bread to the table ?! Or is that just something they include on the bill hoping you don't notice. Second, my friend and I ordered virgin cocktails and paid the same price as normal cocktails ?! So $12 for seltzer, tonic, and maybe some mint leaves ? Third, this was mentioned already but after being in the restaurant the fire alarm went off and we had to wait for the firefighters to arrive for them to turn them off which took over 20 mins ? After paying a $200 bill not even a complimentary drink or comp or next time coupon for dining was given. That just shows that the manager has no idea how to appease the customer for dining (or might not even care) and most people will go but don't return second time. I will not be going back after this last experience.

Food is just average. Worst part is there are so many waiters and busboys, yet no one will ask if food is ok. And good luck trying to get someone’s attention. They are too busy talking to each other & managers don’t care either.
