Worth the trip! That was the most breathtaking view I've ever experienced in my life! Go at sun rise. It is easy to get lost in all the horrible things happening in our world today. This is a perfect reminder that God has created such a beautiful world. Problems seem to fade away when you turn to God! Get a good look at his creation here!
Beautiful!!!! Best to go during the week and not on a beautiful sunny weekend…so many people! But still, worth a stop at the Pretty Place chapel…stunning views…a special place!
Nothing short of amazing. Probably one of the best views in the state. Not easy to find, if in doubt ask once get to the Camp. Without doubt the best outside church/chapel have ever visited.
We arrived right before 5am so we could be on time for the 6am public viewing. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. It weather was breezy and cool, perfect for the sunrise viewing 😊
I think this place was amazing it will take your breathe away. If you are ever in South Carolina I recommend you visit this place. The drive from High Point North Carolina was long but so so worth it. I plan on returning when the weather is better. We were only here about 5 mins after driving over 3 hours since they were about to close. By the way they closed at 6pm. The drive up to the actual site was a little scary to me coming from flat land Florida ... lol
Just had our wedding at the Pretty Place. The security guard was amazing at keeping visitors out and making sure only the guests could get in. Beautiful place and the bridal suite was perfect. They also left us a sweet card!
This place is amazing. Definitely a spot I would recommend to see in person. It's a bit of a drive up some winding roads so be prepared and also make sure you check their schedule as the hours of being open vary.
Amazing, Beautiful and Peaceful place. Traveled up from Southwest GA to see the Pretty Place after seeing the location on Tik Tok! So glad we did
Pretty Place, the name that holds to its promise. The breathtaking views of the Southern Appalachian mountains at Pretty Place are stunning! To read more visit www.thecomfycabin
We had an AMAZING experience. From crafts to the starlab to meeting animals and cooking over a fire. The entire staff went above and beyond at every turn. Great first visit. We can't wait to come back.
Long and winding journey up but worth the drive. So beautiful even on a fog filled day.
Be sure to check their website to make sure there isn’t an event that day before the drive there. It’s a drive through the mountains but 1000% worth it! Stunning view
Actually not the camp itself, but just past camp at road’s end. Also known as Pretty Place. Classic outdoor (covered) chapel with views. Frequent wedding spot most seasons except winter. Views limited but worth the trip. Restroom facilities limited seasonally but a porta is on site.
One of the Most Beautiful Experiences in Our Life Definitely a Check off Our Bucket List 🙏🏽
This place is a must see if your anywhere near it!! We drove about an hour to check it out when we were on vacation in Hendersonville.. Absolutely beautiful!!
Cold morning that day, waiting for the sunrise 🌅! I don't mind the drive for a nice view! Next time I'll bring some coffee!
This place is so beautiful! Pictures do not do it any justice. It’s breathtaking!
Come early to catch the sunrise! Place is open to the public at 0600 but people come earlier than that.
A must visit place. have a nice view.
Beautiful!! My son got married here. It was amazing and very clean!!!
Went on a field trip and this place was amazing. Staff were helpful and the camp was great!
Beautiful place. Absolutely loved it, definitely worth the ride
Great place for a wedding.. open air, covered area with awesome views
Mountain retreat with views of the heavens. Peaceful ,serene, fresh air and trees perfect.
Easter sunrise services is a must see ! Pictures do not do it justice.
Absolutely beautiful place.
Pictures don't do it justice. It is absolutely breathtaking.
Me and my school went here for a trip, it's all amazing. The staff, the activities, the food, the buildings, are all great. Left on the staff's birthday, Chris, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!
Breathtaking views of the Valley and the mountains in the distance from 3000 feet up@ a beautiful outdoor Chapel affectionately known as pretty place by the locals here. Is located on the border of South Carolina and North Carolina just passed Caesars Head
We love Camp Greenville! My son has been 3 years in a row and it’s his favorite camp. The counselors do a great job working with the campers and the admin staff knows how to handle the camp and checkin/out smoothly. We will be back again this year.
We had a wonderful time at the Family Camp. We had a large group, three generations, and lots of activities for all of us. Be sure to plan your day because not every activity is available every block of program. Accommodations are family bunk houses - very reasonable for a camp setting. The staff were great - warm, welcoming and helpful. I am used to one or two that are having a bad day and we never saw it. All on their game all the time. Food was good tasting and more than adequate in quantity and selection. Not gourmet, but a step above the camp food we have had elsewhere. Bottom line - we are all hoping to go back next year.
Wonderful place for a wedding... but if it is raining, there is no visibility, ZERO!! The clouds covered everything like a white wall had been installed. Be sure to check the website for access times for the public and to view Pretty Place Chapel. It is closed to the public otherwise.
AMAZING!!!! Picked up my daughter today after a half session. She's bawling and never wants to leave! Already planning for next year. Beautiful surroundings. Caring staff. Everything you could ask for. What a blessing!
Beautiful area and extremely friendly staff! Our friend had a motorcycle on the road to Pretty Place and they were so incredibly kind enough to allow us to use their building to contact a wrecker.
I absolutely adore camp Greenville. I've gone two years in a row and I am planning on going for as many years after that as I can until I grow out of it. The staff is absolutely amazing and they are on top of all difficulties wether it be a bug that everyone is afraid of in our cabin, or having a rough time because of another camper, they are always very good at handling every situation thrown at them. I highly recommend the adventure program if you are D3 or above (12 or above) because you get to leave camp and truly experience the difficulty as well as fun of camping, hiking , and various excursions like caving and white water rafting (there are more than just those two). I absolutely recommend this camp to everyone and anyone who likes outdoors and camp fun!
My family has gone there twice so far for end of summer Family Camp. We just love it! The staff is great, the activities are planned and done very well, even the food isn't half bad. We will definitely go back next summer.
I cannot say enough good things about this camp. My friend actually went there as a child and suggested it. My son has been going for six years and this is my daughter’s second year. They go for two weeks and we’ve never had any thing but positive experiences
I've chaperoned two field trips here with high schoolers. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, the planned activities are fun and engaging, the food is delicious, and the views are incredible. This is a perfect 3-day trip for teens!
I loved it even though the weather was hazy.
Great place for little ones, their nature center was a blast for the kids and they loved the arts and crafts. If you decide to go just don't forget to bring sheets and blankets and/or sleeping bags for everyone.
The Pretty Place open air Chapel is private property managed by YMCA. It has only porto potties for public use and no water source...Chapel is often closed to public due to weddings, memorial service and special events. Please check schedule at YMCA Camp Greenville web site and check Pretty Place tab..the Y goes strictly by this schedule. Otherwise the Chapel is open to public 6am to 9pm 7 days a week. For special event goers, there are no available restrooms at destination as you wait for your event time to begin, so find a restroom and hydrate before you ascend the mountain..enjoy..it is a breathtaking view and experience...
Beautiful place...but people suck
Beautiful view but we had to drive all the way back to the parking lot only to learn that it was closed due to a wedding. That is the second time that has happened to me. Could they not place a sign at the initial turn off saying that it is closed?
Man I drove an hour and waited an hour for nothing because I wanted to see the sunrise but the damn gate was locked my papa said it went from the pretty place to the shitty place and I agree
After weeks of planning my mother, sister, grandmother and myself were finally able to all get together to go see Pretty Place Chapel. We waited in line for over an hour and when we finally got to the gate at Camp Greenville just after 4pm a guy (camp counselor I'm guessing) approached our car to see who we were checking in. My mother told him that we were there to visit Pretty Place. He told us that we would have to come back due to them checking in campers. We explained that we checked their website event schedule and it stated that the chapel was open to the public from 4 to 10pm. He apologized and stated that we had to leave but could come back at 5:30. Agitated as expected due to us sitting in line for over an hour my mom asked where we could turn around. At that moment a girl (another counselor I'm assuming) walked over and started yelling at us to leave. We pulled up, turned around and as we were leaving another guy told us to stop. As we were asking him what was wrong and why he wanted us to stop that girl comes over and started screaming at us to leave, waving her arms at us in a leaving motion and then screamed for us to get going and get out of there. We left and came back at 5:30 and no one was there so we were able to drive through to get to Pretty Place Chapel. I'm glad that we were able to finally see the Chapel but after our experience with that girl from the camp we will never come back to visit the Chapel. My sister mentioned wanting to get married at Pretty Place Chapel but has since reconsidered. For such a faith based organization they have some extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional staff members. After the horrible way we were treated by that girl for no reason, I'd hate to see how she treats the campers.
Very disappointing ... No indication noted that this venue was closed due to a private event, until you drive ALL THE WAY BACK (5 miles), and a security officer is parked at the entrance.
Below is my original review. Now, eight months later, I have still not received a refund. The Executive Director has never replied to me. "The Director of Camping offered a full refund for my daughter’s camp dates. The refund is even listed as a credit on our camp account through YMCA Camp Greenville’s website. When I requested this refund, she then said no. The Director of Camping communicated to me to follow-up with the Executive Director. He never responded to my certified letter."
I booked our wedding 6 months in advance. On the night before our ceremony, I received an email cancelling my wedding because of a power outage. Had to scramble at the last minute to find a new venue for the following afternoon. Was told I would receive a full refund within 4 weeks, per our contract. Just received an email that Diane, the coordinator, is on vacation. Cannot get in touch with anyone at camp and do not know when I will receive my refund. Do yourself a favor and visit for free to enjoy the view. But do not book an event. The staff is unprofessional and unreliable.
My daughter went thinking she was going to be doing a lot of activities but only did one. She did not have fun and came back 5 lbs. less because the food was bad. Small cramped cabins. On top of a mountain so it rains all the time. I would not recommend this place.
Checked their schedule 15-20 times, made plans for the day trip, checked once again before we left, and made the 1.5 hour trip from our campground, and right before we get there they closed it. (2 different stories from the staff) Something they could have posted first thing in the morning. Staff could care less, so not worth the hype. Very disappointing. Imagine paying for the venue for a wedding and they close it and just say well, your wedding will be able to happen tomorrow.
