I live in Ithaca and this was a great mini-vacation. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the room is spotless and includes everything you could need. I saw some older pictures and was skeptical but the whole place was renovated and looks amazing. I highly recommend the Park Inn for anyone looking to explore the Keuka Lake Wine Region or just a historic aviation location!
Pleasantly surprised by a quiet meal on Valentines day with my wife. The service was paced appropriately, and made sense for the occasion. The Antipasto was very high quality and both entrees were of exceptional quality. Would definitely recommend.
Great place to eat good food and a nice bourbon list at the bar. Enjoy your time. Would definitely be going back.
Food was amazing, don't let the sorry menu deter you from the great selection they put together. For was prepared and served with love. Great flavors, warm atmosphere and accommodating staff. Highly recommended stopping in for food and a drink
My husband is a Doctor and we escaped to the Finger Lakes for a much needed vacation through the Covid craziness. Alas we discovered the Park Inn and are staying here the next few nights. Our room is very cozy, exquisitely decorated, spacious, and more. We dined here tonight as well. Matt, our server, was very knowledgeable, courteous, attentive - and our dinner was all together wonderful. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection served over a bed of the most divine risotto I have ever had the pleasure of eating mixed with corn, garlic scapes, pancetta and well, I don’t know what else. It was simply heavenly. Husband had the BBQ mixed plate which I also sampled and was very delicious! I can’t wait to come back here for our next FLX trip and am already planning our next excursion. Isn’t it about time that you treated yourself? This is the place to do it locally.
The beets were a revelation, and the steelhead was flawless. Highly recommended.
Great food and service. I had the filet mignonette and it was excellent. My wife had the gnocchi and it too was very tasty. The cauliflower bites for an appetizer was perfect. Will go back
The dinner was delicious, the desserts were amazing and the service was top notch!! Would definitely recommend coming here, we will for sure be back!!
Currently the Inn serves meals in the tavern section, while the dining room is being prepared to open July 5. We experienced superb service and food. Interesting appetizer selections allowed us to create dinner from 3 special appetizers: lightly fried calamari, roasted, thin-sliced brussel sprouts with walnuts, and a meat/charcuterie tray that included house-made smoked meats, and nice accompaniments. Of course, a nice wine list by the glass or bottle, and beer selection were available. My husband and I enjoyed excellent service and, as an extra benefit, warm conversations with the staff. A perfect ending to a delightful day!
I have come up to the finger lakes 3 times, and every time I am disappointed in the restaurants. This was my first year staying on Keuka Lake, so we decided to stop in to the Park Inn for dinner and I’m so glad we did. Hands down this is the best meal I’ve had in the finger lakes. I got the scallops with risotto and it was so delicious, I didn’t want to stop eating it although I had to because it was too much food lol. No worries though, I had help eating it because it was so good. Sadly, he wasn’t as big a fan of his meal which was pulled pork with greens, coleslaw, and cornbread. He didn’t care for the BBQ sauce they used on the pork and the coleslaw had so much dill in it that it just overpowered it. I’d go back and try it again though for sure.
Spacious, clean rooms. Great location. Nice extra touches to make our stay comfortable (coffee, wine glass gifts, biscotti, mimosas, bathrobes). Some noise at night from the restaurant below, but we were still able to sleep. I would recommend!
We ate dinner here and the food was great! We got deviled eggs, mushroom risotto and the beef tenderloin. Hearty food but reasonable portions. We would definitely return!
This restaurant is a true gem in the finger lakes. They have a truly extensive wine list. The menu was very diverse and the quality of the food excellent. We had a really delicious meal here
Came here for dinner. So glad this was open when a lot of places were closed! Food was incredibly fresh, got a salad with peaches, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic vinegar that my gf basically stole once she tasted it, and a fantastic gnocchi dish. Some of the best food we had in the area (dishes on par with much more expensive restaurants).
A very pleasant restaurant with great food and service. Dishes have a wonderful blend of flavors and a super wine list that allows great pairings. Terrific and unique appetizers but save room for dessert.
Dinner here was really amazing and well worth the price. The scallops were really great and I would recommend them to anyone, even if you don't normally like scallops. The coffee dessert was great as well and worth getting if you enjoy coffee with liquor. The staff was extremely attentive and everything we ate was fantastic.
Wow.....I took my best friend to dinner for her birthday at The Park Inn while we were in the Finger Lakes area. The food was amazing. I had the Prosciutto Crusted Chicken breast. It was served with a wilted lettuce salad with hot bacon dressing. Beyond anything I had before and loved it. My friend had the Wild Caught Rock Shrimp Risotto and she also loved her meal. We also had a glass of great wine and a Flavored Gin and Tonic, which were also great. We both highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Hammondsport is also a very cute town.
Such a cute boutique hotel! It was incredibly charming but also very clean and updated. The bed was comfy and the area super quiet. Would definitely recommend staying here for a get away in the finger lakes! 10 minute drive to tons of great wineries!!
Excellent, delicious meals. Great service. Highly recommend.
Emily at the bar was great. My flank was one of the best steaks I ever had. My girlfriend had the filet, which was tasty and cooked just the way she liked it. A lot of places have difficulty cooking it medium well but not here. Definitely recommend ethos quaint cozy restaurant.
I frequent the park inn when visiting the inlaws and am never disappointed. They always have new and interesting cocktails and menus items and none have ever disappointed. I ways get to try something new and find new foods I would have never considered and they use a number of local ingredients. The concord grape sorbet pictured was the perfect ending to a lovely meal. If you are in the area it's always worth a stop
Had a lovely stay at the Park Inn. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. Plenty of towels were provided. We enjoyed walking a few blocks down to the lake to watch the boats.
This place was a beautiful gem in Hammondsport! We stayed in Room 2, which has a lovely sitting area with very comfortable couch to lounge on. The bedroom is spacious with an amazingly comfortable king size bed and view of the village park out the window. The bathroom is updated and has high quality amenities included. My parents stayed in room 4. Which is also lovely but has a slightly smaller bedroom space. We loved all the little touches (nice coffee and tea selection, quality soaps and shampoos, guest book with instant camera, historic books, and more!) and enjoying this beautiful historic building right in the middle of town. Would go back in a heartbeat!
I had a great stay at the Park Inn for 5 nights. The room was wonderful. One room had a couch with a foldout bed, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a closet. The main room had a king size bed, was very spacious with a modern shower and bathroom. Travis, the Innkeeper was very professional, and the overall service was great. There were several windows that look over the town square. Was very convenient to stores and restaurants. Would highly recommend!!!
We had dinner here tonight, it was outstanding! From the service to the food! My wife and I shared the deviled eggs, squash/burrata salad, and bolognese/papparedelle. All three dishes were perfect and full of excellent flavor combinations. The meal really hit the spot and the prices were more than fair. It really was the perfect dining experience!!!!!
So tasty! We ordered dinner to takeout one night while we were staying in the area. The food was exceptional. We had the beet and carrot salad, the short rib and the Pasta with chicken and prosciutto. Everything was fantastic!
Great farm-to-table restaurant, with seasonal menu items. Salmon and duck breast entrees were so tasty, we ate every bite. Glad I skipped the yummy-looking appetizers and saved room for dessert; the pumpkin cheesecake was light and creamy, and the gingersnap crust was a nice spiced contrast.
Food: We started off our meal with an order of Sautéed Calamari. The calamari was very tasty, with a perfect ratio of seasoning to sauce. The Focaccia bread that the calamari was resting upon was delightful. I ordered the Prosciutto Crusted Chicken Breast with a side salad of kale, peaches, tomatoes, and almonds. It took me quite a while to decide as the whole menu looked delicious. My meal was very, very good. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the prosciutto was a perfect touch. The kale salad was the best salad I have ever had, the sweet peaches balanced the acidic flavor of the dressing. I also sampled some of the risotto and the risotto was heavenly. As I put it in my mouth it just felt so comforting. Definitely some of the best risotto I have ever had. Staff: The staff was very nice and was at our table multiple times to bring water and take plates. Our waitress was Amy who had a very good sense of humor and was very caring towards our party. She also made very good recommendations towards the menu and establishments in the surrounding area. Time of Service: We were seated immediately without making a reservation, which was great. It did take a little while for the starters and entrees to come out, but it was definitely not an unbearable amount of time, as the restaurant was also decently busy. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was so great. We sat at a table in the blocked off street right next to a nice little park in the middle of town. In the park a small band played nice music that complemented the meal. Presentation: The meal was presented beautifully, all the food was arranged perfectly. The glasses and silverware were very modernistic and in great condition. The water was brought out and put on our table in a very nice looking bottle that added a touch of elegance. Price: The food was not too pricey, just a little more than the average restaurant, but it was definitely worth every penny. We ended up paying around $120 for a group of 4 which is not bad!
I literally can't say enough about this restaurant. It's unbelievable, the wine list is superb, and the food is remarkable. I've been all over the country, and the food here is the best. The chef comes up with a new food on the menu daily, and everything is perfect, I really mean perfect. The best food I've ever had.
Simply Fantastic. Each plate had layers of flavors that unfolded. The fish cakes specifically were a bold risk on the menu and when a chef makes that statement it deserves attention. They did and they do. Wow, take time to get here it is worth it. Shrimp and grits delightful. Party of 6 very happy patrons who will return.
We loved the park inn!! Ethan was our server and by far one of the best servers out there. His recommendations where all spot on. He did a great job all around. I had chicken and waffles, and my wife ate gnocchi w/ crushed hazelnuts, butternut squash, Brussel sprouts, and brown butter. Both meals where amazing!! If we are ever close by we will be back!!
Wonderful experience!! My husband and I visited Dr. Frank Winery in Hammondsport and stayed overnight at The Park Inn. We loved everything about it. Self-check in with no problem, immaculate room, air conditioning at perfect temperature and it was a brutally hot day outside. We also had dinner at their downstairs restaurant and that was amazing as well. Delicious meal with an extensive wine list and our server, Ethan, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The only thing I didn’t like was leaving!! Will definitely be returning. Hammondsport such a beautiful spot and The Park Inn will be our go to place.
We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant. We had the bolognese and a steak, both were top notch. Prices weren't cheap, but not too pricey.
From the moment we entered, we felt welcome and comfortable. Jillian was absolutely fantastic in her engagement, recommendations, and demeanor. We enjoyed an amazing cheese board, drinks, and great conversation, so much so that we returned the following day for dinner and drinks. Once again, we were greeted and treated with the same enthusiasm and customer service. I highly recommend Park Inn and will definitely return on our next visit to Keuka Lake.
We had reservations for 8pm, but got into town around 7:30... Figured we'd sit at the bar and have a few cocktails while we wait, but our table was ready, and we were seated immediately. The cocktails and food were amazing! We ordered the seafood chowder, east coast oysters, roasted portabella & burrata salad to start, the roasted chicken pappardelle and the eggplant parm with merguez and whipped ricotta for dinner, and had the raspberry sorbet and warm apple crumble for dessert. Afterwards I ordered a corrected coffee with drambuie and my girlfriend ordered an "idk something chocolate and coffee martini-y"... The chowder was absolutely brimming with seafood, the oysters were fresh, sweet, and meaty, the portabella salad was rich and flavorful... The chicken pappardelle pulled a full "Ratatouille"... It was notably better than, but reminded me of my mom's chicken casserole with Campbell's cream of mushroom... It was absolutely delicious and with the help of a bottle of 2020 Dr. Frank's Merlot, made me want to call home and tell my mom I love her.... The eggplant parm with merguez was perfectly executed... The fluffy whipped ricotta and crispy fried eggplant contrasted beautifully with the bolder flavored merguez. *chef's kiss* Honorable mention to the robin that collided with my car on the way into town... When I saw "the robin" listed as a signature cocktail, I just knew ordering it was the perfect way to salute your little bird life. Cheers little homie, I hope you're rolling in worms up in bird heaven.
We attended a wine dinner at the Park Inn which was superb! We then spent the night at the well done Park Inn rooms upstairs. The rooms are lovely and the beds oh so comfortable! Marie , the Inn Keeper, made our stay so welcoming! Wine glasses, water, coffee and cookies were provided. There was a major snow storm in the night, but yet Marie was back in the morning to see us off. She even helped us by clearing a path to our car and helping us to clean off the car! What a genuine and caring person she is! Please stay at this wonderful place. You won’t be disappointed!
We love this restaurant. Their meals are scrumptious and Finger Lakes wine collection exceptional. Their sommelier, Josh, guides you through the Finger Lakes wine options with clarity and understanding, making perfect recommendations for food and wine pairings. The ambience of the restaurant is intimate and fitting for this charming town. Well done! Our enthusiastic recommendation.
Attentive and team-oriented staff, but the highlight was the food. A nearby table of customers were returning after spending 3 days raving about the salmon appetizer, but the deviled eggs with in-house smoked bacon (almost candied) gave it a run for its money. Entrees were innovative and perfectly done, especially my steak with tomato butter. Desserts are in-house and distinctive, with the candied orange peels on the chocolate tart a nice touch. My wife said how it was a nice place for a date, and as usual, she's right. We'd go back easily to try something else and would bet we'd be just as wowed. Nice job and special kudos to the kitchen. Adding photos of the drink menu with some great choices as well as Aviator-themed drinks.
My husband and I were staying nearby and heard about the farm to table food offered at The Park Inn restaurant. I made a reservation a few days in advance and requested a table by the fireplace. We arrived on time and we’re seated right next to that amazing fireplace! Our waitress was Kate who was super friendly and offered suggestions. The deviled eggs and shrimp toast were amazing as was my glass of Gruner. We had the pork chops and salmon and my oh my.. still thinking of that deliciousness 4 days later. We were so full that dessert wasn’t an option but was tempting. It’s hard to find a restaurant that has super high quality/fancy food while feeling unstuffy but we found it here! Much thanks to the chef, Kate and the person who took the time to read the special request of fireplace seating and made it happen! We will come back for sure whenever we are back in that heavenly town of Hammondsport!!
Ohhh my God, the food is downright unbeatable. The staff is even better. The only problem I have is that the Park Inn is two hours drive away. I had an unforgettable evening with my beautiful wife and ridiculously attractive friends. My memory is grateful you exist in this world.
We stopped by for our first "inside" dinner since covid began. What an amazing treat. Service was top-flight. Our meals were absolutely top-flight. The home made smoked salmon appetizer is a "must try." Fried Chicken and Waffles (who would have imagined that combination?) and Smokehouse Plate were superb. Wine flights are also good. Well done in every way.
We started our meal out with the Calamari appetizer and it was fantastic! Our meals were also spot on, I had the eggplant and my husband had the sirloin. Both delicious and the steak cooked to perfection! Jaden was our server and she was attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, and has a million dollar smile! We have eaten here many times, but tonight was our best meal yet! Thank you, Park Inn staff!
Dinner at Park Inn was AMAZING! We started with swordfish mortadella- creative and delicious! I had the rigatoni with duck confit and my husband had the filet with reduction sauce. I still dream about my meal!! Our server was friendly and made recommendations. The noise level was comfortable and the setting was quaint. We will return!
We didn’t stay over but we had dinner on our quick weekend away. We were greeted with classes of champagne as we sat since we just got married. Our server Connor gave great recommendations. Caprese salad, Fried eggplant, Shrimp and salmon risotto. 10/10 will be back for the service and food.
Simply THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE FINGER LAKES. Monthly revolving menu, farm to table (literally their own), something for everyone, you cannot go wrong.!
The place is the perfect little spot in Hammondsport to stay. It's just a short walk to the lake and it's so convenient being close enough to walk to whatever you need. Beautiful little town. Worth the visit for sure. When we come back we will definitely be staying here again!
Great little inn, right on the square in Hammondsport. Cute suites, well decorated and comfortable. Our meal at their restaurant, The Park Inn, was terrific. Great farm to table food and extensive wine list, lots of local favorites.
First time eating dinner at The Park Inn and it was a fantastic experience. Made on-line reservations which was painless and accurate on a Saturday night. We ate inside the tent and it was comfortable and relaxing. The dinners were simply amazing. Everyone in our party completely cleaned their plates which almost never happens. I had the fish cakes which were a combination of Cod and Salmon. My wife had the Filet which was cooked perfectly and delicious. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Second time eating at The Park Inn with family, and it's an easy favorite. The service is refined and phenomenal. Matt was our server (last year as well, I believe) and he is a true pro. He didn't rush us, knew exactly when to check on us, and knew the menu inside and out. Speaking of the menu, it's an inspired, locally anchored selection of dishes. I gravitate to the lamb; it's perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Everything is made in house (as you would expect) and you can tell there's true talent working in the back of the house in addition to the front. For great service, great value, and an overall fantastic meal, you really can't beat this place. I can't wait to return.
Delicious food, excellent service and great atmosphere! We had the scallop and shrimp risotto and filet. My husband’s filet was perfectly medium rare! Melt in your mouth delicious! My scallop and shrimp risotto was delicious and full of great flavor. Well done! Kate was our server and she was awesome! She had the entire room full and was still able to give attention to each table. Great time!
Great stay in Hammondsport, lovely inn with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Loved the coffee bar and the authentic feel.
Service was 5 star and food was amazing...great romantic place to take your special someone!!!!!!
Best restaurant in the cutest little town. I wish we could’ve eaten here for every meal but the reservations were appropriately all booked! Great food, great wine and great service
We are visiting and the Park Inn came recommended. What a wonderful recommendation it turned out to be! The beet salad was amazing and my pesto crusted salmon was awesome. The wine and cocktail selection were delish. Rorie made our experience even better providing recommendations with her knowledge of the food. If we were local we would be regulars.
Very, very nice farm-to-table restaurant. Excellent, good-sized dishes with a bounty of vegetables - not smothered in butter and salt! Extensive wine list with reasonably priced choices from the region and beyond. Charming dining room. One of the best U.S. meals we’ve had in a while. The one drawback: It’s not on the lake. The food, ambience and service make up for this.
Highly skilled and helpful staff- solved some hard problems with an iPhone and a laptop quite efficiently.
Stayed at the Park Inn for 3 nights and had dinner in the restaurant downstairs on our first night. We had the most amazing, relaxing time here and would love to return some day. The room was spotless, easily in the top 3 cleanest stays that we’ve enjoyed. The bedding and linens were high quality, and the living room area was furnished in a comfortable, welcoming manner. I especially loved the wooden desk by the windows. The room had lovely natural lighting, and the windows looked out at town square, which was decorated for Christmas in the wonderfully classic style of well-kept little villages. The bathroom was amply supplied with high-quality towels, wash cloths, and soaps. Just outside our room, the hallway offered a fully stocked self-serve area for hot beverages, which was absolutely perfect for a cozy Christmas stay. Our room had a mini fridge, wine glasses, a bottle opener, and robes. I was quite nervous about traveling the weekend before Christmas (for various reasons), and the hospitality at Park Inn allowed us to have a stay that was restful beyond our expectations. This is a historic inn, and we could hear foot traffic on the stairs and in the hallway. However, it was minimal at all times, and the posted quiet hours were silent. We slept so well on the incredible mattress. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the inn on our first night and would have happily ate there every night (challenged ourselves to branch out and try other areas). I had the amazing homemade ravioli stuffed with butternut squash, and my husband enjoyed the steelhead trout. The vegetable accompaniments were perfect, and we were much too full for dessert. I hope we can return for another stay at the wonderful Park Inn and enjoy beautiful Hammondsport, truly a lovely place in all seasons.
This restaurant is amazing. We have been multiple times over the past year and have had a wonderful meal each time. The staff is great and the quality of the meal for the price can’t be beat. Can’t wait to return multiple times in 2026!
Comfortable place for fine dining. Enjoyed the steelhead over a bed of creamy polenta. Trout was cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth. Others got the delicata squash that was cut in small pieces and breaded and cooked and stacked in a delightful shape. For dessert, the coffee crème brulee was outstanding: smooth, flavorful, perfectly topped with caramelized sugar. Wait staff was helpful choosing wine and being attentive and friendly.
Always enjoy staying here. Lovely clean room. Although rooms aren’t serviced daily, they do a wonderful job of providing extras of what you might need. I did cross paths with someone who worked there who was lovely, asked if i needed anything. Great place, + great restaurant downstairs.
We did not stay here, but ate dinner here two nights in a row in late September. They did not have an extensive menu, but the food was terrific. The bar/dining area was comfortable, with a very nice vibe and service was good with a really nice staff.
We just went to the restaurant which had a great atmosphere and staff, the menu was good and the appetizers were delicious but the servings were quite small, probably still the best in town
We loved our stay at the Park Inn! The restored room was absolutely beautiful and our experience at the restaurant was perfect. We really enjoyed the short walk to the lake, as well. There's less to do in the town than I expected, but its proximity to all of the wineries on Keuka is great.
Stayed elsewhere in Hammondsport but ate here twice cuz it was excellent! Real from OUR farm to table food is awesome! Very delicious and well served by a friendly staff, very wine and food knowledgeable.
Wife and I spent a few days here and found the sitting room, bedroom and tile bathroom clean and well kept. Plenty of plush towels, crisp white linens, comfortable mattress and for the very hot days\evenings a quiet AC system that was more than adequate. We found the menu reasonably priced and interesting. Deviled eggs and the beet salad with its beet mousse didn’t disappoint. Our rock shrimp risotto and zucchini ravioli entrees both showed us what a difference fresh ingredients make. Need to add that Rorie our waitress was wonderful answering our questions and making suggestions along with interesting conversation on things in the area not to miss.
We will come back. A nice place that had amazing food. STAFF: friendly and knowledgeable. FOOD: amazing. We will go back. We ordered the shrimp & grits with zucchini and loved it! Great amount of shrimp and delicious all around. And we ordered the beautiful cut of steak shown. I know we will talk about this beautifully, well cooked and well seasoned meal for months to come! Highly recommend! I’m gluten free and I say to find great food here!
We are local to the area and have walked by the Park Inn on multiple occasions, last night we decided to give it a try. We were blown away! Service was great, and the food was the best I have had on Keuka. Great experience, we will be back!
We didn’t stay at the hotel but the restaurant was lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection and the flavor was spot on. Also, the focaccia bread was so delicious I wish we had ordered two.
Nice boutique hotel. Unfortunately we couldn't check-in earlier, but that's fine. You can request them to clean your room free of charge - we were staying for 3 nights, so we opted for that. The room was really nicely furnished and spacious with a small living room. Skip the restaurant next door - over priced and underwhelming.
I was there for a week in May 2025 and had a fantastic stay. It was quiet, clean, and can't beat the location right at the village square. There's undertandably no elevator in this perfectly renovated historic building, so be aware you will have to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs. The restaurant was also excellent, one of the best meals I've ever had - the steelhead trout + veg were cooked to perfection. The chef really knows what s/he's doing. Highly recommend both the inn and the restaurant!
We had a night away and stayed at The Park Inn in Hammondsport, NY. What a cute little town and our stay at The Park Inn was everything we hoped for. It was completely private with code entry into the building and our room. Very well kept, beautiful place from the moment we opened the door. In the hallways, there was fully stocked coffee station, extra linens available, cold water station, books, etc. Our room was more than we could ask for. It opened to a prefect sitting area with a TV, sofa and desk and mini refrigerator. Then to the beautiful bedroom, with the most comfortable bed and linens we have ever slept on, so very nice! There was extra blankets and linens if needed. The bathroom was very nice, with toiletries and plenty of towels. The place was very clean, quiet, romantic and comfortable. We can't wait to come back again. An extra plus was the a beautiful restaurant below and a well stocked bar with very welcoming staff.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Park Inn last weekend for a short getaway, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the cozy vibes set the perfect tone for our stay. The rooms were spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed, with attention to detail that made all the difference—chilled water waiting in the fridge, a convenient water fill station, extra towels and supplies available to grab as needed, and a full coffee bar stocked with everything you could want. We loved the small living room area just off the bedroom, which was ideal for unwinding and playing games together. It added a homey touch that made the space feel extra special. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was a highlight—both the filet mignon and the rigatoni were outstanding, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. The Park Inn is a gem for anyone seeking a relaxing, well-appointed escape in Hammondsport!
Overall it's a good experience dining at the Park Inn, all food is fresh, good and interesting particularly for the region. Service is great, but drinks did seem to take a little longer than expected to reach your table after ordering, not sure if it's their system or what. Two diners at our table had the veggie curry and said it was very mild and not that flavourful. Perhaps they're making it that way for a palate that doesn't usually order curry, not sure. I would think if you're ordering that you would expect something pretty robust. The brie appetizer was phenomenal and as always the deviled eggs were terrific. Our friends visiting from Toronto thought it was very interesting to have deviled eggs on the menu and we explained it's kind of the Park Inn signature. The mahi was good. The seafood pasta was good, not super special but good. Shrimp a bit over done and small bits of Mahi. That all said, it's the best place around for fine dining, we're lucky. And we love that they change up their menu regularly.
One of a handful of places in the immediate area that actually makes delicious food from farm to table. Most restaurants simply use frozen Sysco food. Great wine list and decent spirits selection for the area!
We stayed here for three nights and would definitely consider staying again on our next trip to the area. We stayed in Room 2 and loved having the sitting area to relax in the evenings. The bed was extremely comfortable. We also loved the heater in the bathroom. A few things to note: This room has a rather large step between the sitting area and the bedroom. While you are dealing with steps to get to the rooms, you may not want to choose this room if you don't want a step to get from one area of your space to another. I think next time we would consider another room option. Our (minor) issues: The room was bone dry, which sometimes happens in hotel rooms. I seriously thought all the moisture had been sucked from my body the first morning. :) When I first made the reservation, I had to change the days. The innkeeper was very responsive and helpful. However, the week before our stay, I emailed twice and contacted them through Facebook once about a question we had and received zero response. The question was important to me, but not a make-or-break thing, or I would have called. Two other minor things: This is a historic inn and the bathroom was tiny, tiny. Do not plan on leaving any toiletries in there! (I did not take this into consideration with my rating -- it was expected.) The other issue is the parking. Parking is street parking only and I could see this being a serious competition depending on when you stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again the next time we are in the area.
Went for dinner here without a reservation on Saturday. Tables were full/reserved so we agreed to seat at a high table near the bar, and served by the bartenders. Some hits and misses with the food - risotto was delicious, brussel sprouts could be cooked for a few more minutes, sirloin was very chewy and we struggled to cut with the normal dinner knife provided. Overall worth a try if you are in the area, just to note they are not opened on Sundays.
We recently enjoyed dinner here with some local friends. Everyone felt their food was excellently prepared. The only minor quibble was, since salad was not offered with your entre, not even rolls or bread with butter for the table. That is not something I have encountered anywhere. I had the halibut and it was fantastic, but with all that lovely broth, no bread to soak it up. The Moscow Mule I ordered was perfectly made. The service was good overall and I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Dining experience has had its ups and downs over the last few years. Our dinner the other evening was outstanding, cocktails were alright and the environment is always nice. Was a little put off by the $25 per person charge to make a reservation. Seems a little awkward, especially in a post peak tourism time.
This is a quaint and perfectly comfortable accomodation, right in the center of Hammondsport. Only fault with the room was a very noisy air con unit that sounded a bit faulty, so couldn't be used overnight. They provide coffee and tea machines in the hallway outside the rooms, and leave a lovely chocolate and wine tasting voucher in the room. Try the restaurant downstairs too, it's excellent!
Had heard good things and wanted to check out this restaurant for a while. Nice atmosphere and service, and very cool that they source locally from their own farm. But the food was a bit disappointing for the price. We got a salad special and it was TINY, a few pieces of kale and 4 small pieces of squash. The most disappointing was the gnocchi, which we should have been warned about the size. Came with 9 gnocchi, which for $30 is ridiculous. The trout was good and larger portions but needed more seasoning.
We did not stay at the Inn, though the rooms look lovely from the photos online. This review is for the restaurant. This was our second time eating at The Park Inn. The first time was excellent - we actually sat at the same table this most recent time. The service on the first visit was attentive, and the food prep was excellent. 5-stars for sure - this was for 2023. This most recent visit, this evening, was sub-par. I know it's early in the season, and the teams are probably still figuring out how to work with each other, but both the service and the food were not great. We didn't see our waitress for long periods and had to flag her down for a second drink while we were waiting for our main; we are trying to figure out what the purpose of the runner was when we still had to flag the waitress. Anyway, the cheese board didn't have any crackers, which was odd; the runner delivering the food just put it on the table with no cheese "tour" - it was taste and guess. Still not sure what we had - some sort of cracker or breadstick would have been great. For the main, the salmon was still pink inside when we got it and not up to temperature; okay for sushi grade, but not sure this was sushi grade, so fingers crossed for tomorrow. The entrees in general were only okay. The potatoes on the salmon dish were good, as was the pesto. The squash on the swordfish plate was only okay. While sitting in the bar area last time was fine, this time we experienced two overserved guests that made it difficult to converse. The ambiance was great once they left, but unfortunately we were done with our dinner, too. The menu was limited - we didn't see a chicken main, but maybe we missed it. Probably won't be back. :(
This is a review of the restaurant only. We had a reservation for dinner on a Wednesday and the restaurant was not busy. I have to say that the food was very good. We ordered many of the main dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal. However, we will probably not be returning for two reasons. First, the bar was busy and there was no separation between the bar and the dining room. There was a lot of ambiance noise & a breeze coming from the front door opening and closing. Second, and more importantly, the service was very slow, and for no apparent reason. Took nearly 2 1/2 hours from the time we were seated until we departed.
My experience at Park Inn Restaurant was a letdown, starting from the front door. We chose this spot for our anniversary, excited by its culinary reputation, but found ourselves stymied by a maître d' more focused on pretense than hospitality. Despite multiple empty tables at 6:40pm on a Tuesday in the Finger Lakes, we were turned away from table service with claims of reservations that never seemed to materialize. Relegated to the bar, service lagged—from delayed orders to slow drink refills probably due to a bartender that was overwhelmed because the maître d' wasn't seating tables. Notably, another diner, even recognized as a repeat guest by the maître d', was also denied a table now 7:30pm. I had seen 3 reservations arrive during my time sitting at the bar next to the host stand. This repeat solo guest was also bizarrely denied an open seat next to us at the bar. By the time we left at 8:20pm (Restaurant closes at 9pm), many tables remained unoccupied, highlighting a disconnect between the host's gatekeeping and actual demand. The maître d' seems to play gatekeeper to an empty kingdom, the chefs who certainly deserve accolades also deserve a better host. Photos taken during our visit clearly show the empty tables, contradicting the maître d's insistence on all seats being reserved. This unnecessary gatekeeping resulted in not only a disappointing experience for us but also other potential diners being turned away. The establishment's approach to managing reservations and guest seating desperately needs reevaluation.
August 2024 update we went for dinner while summer vacation with kids. It’s was a busy night and only bar seating was available which we don’t mind. As we order this time so disappointed… I got the peach salad . Note $13 for four slices of peace’s , three toasted croutons and three blobs of goat cheese that taste like cream cheese . With some weird green dye in it . What !!! Terrible don’t bother , the shrimp Risotto was shrimp was warm and plate was pipping hot but risotto was cold how disappointing, my husband has the chicken meal a pasta dish with red sauce it had a different name which I can’t locate on menu now . It was delicious but pasta was skimpy and no bread or garlic bread .$30 that was not filling for a man . Terrible , ok dessert they seem to get it right a little price but tasty , had the peach cobbler . Won’t be returning…. 10/2023Friday dinner time :Quick seating, fast service and food Omg so delicious . Had a shareable apple salad , I had the shrimp risotto and my husband had chicken Alfredo with a twist pepper and spinach in his. Of course we had dessert the apple crisp with Ice cream scoop yes it was a different type of ice cream on top but was just as delicious. Drink options was many . Could have stayed all night . Would definitely come again .
