Hennessey’s Hermosa Beach - This place has an amazing atmosphere, great location and a local fave. The upstairs dining gives you an amazing view of the beach and pier. Our breakfast was fresh and delicious with an outstanding Bloody Mary at a very reasonable price of $7! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the restaurant and restroom were both very clean.

Cherished by both locals and visitors. This mainstay beach-vibe, irish themed grub spot has an incredible view of the strand. Smaller parties can enjoy an upstairs patio with a beautiful view the pier and beach. During holidays and large events expect a wait but it will be worth it. The crowd is awesome. Staff Rocks and the food won't disappoint 😋 Parking isn't free but plentiful. Southbay🤙

Amazing burger with a beautiful view!! The patio is practically on the pier. View of the water and walkway. Great for people watching. The food was really good. Juicy burger cooked to order on a yummy bun! Bacon, blue cheese, mushrooms...my fave! Onion rings we're delicious! The best is their mimosas....great deals and perfect for a Sunday!

Love Hennessey's. The upstairs has an unbeatable view. It's not fancy, but the pub food is good, service friendly and the beer is cold. Always our first stop in Hermosa.

We ate lunch outdoors here. Great location for people watching. Service was good. Food was a mixed bag. Our brisket sandwich was excellent, but our fish and chips were too heavily battered - they reminded me of corn dogs. Fries were limp and the slaw heavy on poppyseeds.

Went on a Tuesday evening, downstairs not busy but top floor was. Kay was a great waitress and very attentive. Food was OK and beer was expensive ($15 for a tall IPA, $10 for a pint). Great sunset views from the lower deck.

Great location on Hermosa Beach. Addition to the pier and other shops and bars. Service is good and fairly quick. Chase made sure our drinks were filled and did a good job with the orders. Food is very good and they have food and drink specials. Recommend the upstairs bar for best views! I’ve been here before and I’ll be back ! UrbanCowgill September 2025

Saw they use #KuleanaRum in a margarita so I had to try it. Excellent. Also the Old Fashioned was good. Just had the Ahi poke on wonton and was not disappointed! Enough sesame oil to enhance bit not dominate the Ahi Yes I will return. Best thing is the view from the 2nd story balcony. The dumb waiter was obnoxiously loud.

Just another usual beach side pub with decent food and drinks options. Nothing exciting about the place. Service was good and timely though so 5 stars for that. Prices are as usual a bit expensive for the location. Happy Hour is okay as well. Have been to cheaper options for happy hour compared to this place

The area was beautiful and this tavern is right by the beach which is an amazing plus. Even though it was slightly busy there was no hostess and we were told to sit anywhere we wanted, which turned into a 10+ minute wait until we were greeted at our table. We ordered drinks a the fry sampler, then the blt with avocado and the prime dip. Service: 4/10 Never really got any customer service. Never asked how our food was, I had to go ask the bartender for water and he was talking to someone who looked like a manager and he made me feel like I was being rude to interrupt their conversation. When I ordered my daughter’s sandwich I had to keep the server from running off and told her I wanted something too. She seemed very overwhelmed. When we asked for refills on drinks they didn’t come until we were ready to leave. Fries: 5/10 The fries itself were good, there were three metal cub like containers loaded with fries. but the the two that were suppose to be flavored just had a bunch of Cajun seasoning thrown on one and a glob of garlic parm on another, they didn’t even take the time to toss them together. The dips weren’t very good at all. BLT: 7/10 The BLT looked good and tasted good as well, but my daughter became very sick later in the night. Prime Rib: 8/10 Au jus: 0/10 The prime rib sandwich was really good, but the au jus they cooked in it, and the side dish of it tasted like they poured lighter fluid in it. My prime rib was ruined because of this. Most likely won’t come back to this specific spot and I was really looking forward to coming here. Other food establishments over there are much better.

What a lovely location to have a meal. Such a view of the ocean and pier, sitting up on the roof area where it seemed we could see forever. good burger, excellent service. Bring your sunglasses!

Great view up top but that's where any good feedback ends. The only option for draft beers are at least 20oz and cost $12, which is fun but if you want a regular single beer too bad. We ordered two burgers and a grilled chicken sandwich and fries came out ice cold, chicken sandwich was $17.50 and had a tiny slice of chicken on it. The service was slow since the server was covering too many tables. Our receipt came and the prices were wrong. When we pointed it out we were told "Oh those are old menus." Well... That's your problem? I'm not paying more because you couldn't be bothered to print new menus? It's what you expect out of a chain restaurant that coasts on its location. Enjoy a beer and the view here but that's it, look for food elsewhere.

Great Location. Terrible Food. Hennessey’s Tavern has an excellent location and a great ocean view — unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The service was mediocre at best, but the real problem is the food. It was genuinely bad. How do you mess up French fries? Easy — drown them in oil. How do you ruin wings? Drown them in oil and strip away all flavor. How do you destroy sliders? Same thing — greasy, tasteless, and poorly executed. Everything we ordered was excessively oily, heavy, and bland. No seasoning, no balance, no care. It felt like frozen bar food rushed straight from the fryer to the plate. This place relies entirely on its location, because the food absolutely does not justify eating here. Hermosa Beach has so many better options within walking distance. Huge disappointment. Don’t go.

We are a regular in this place; however, they are highly inconsistent with their services and customer orientation. - They publicize their "Football Deals" (attached). If you go there before any of the games start, your drinks are not included under the happy hour. You have to pay the full price. They do not mention or say this anywhere on the menu or their flyers. - Our kids usually order the burgers from the kids menus. They ask to make it happen "chilly". 99% of the time the request is fulfilled. This time our waitress told us that we have to pay an additional $2.5/person to make the fries chilly. When we told her we come every week and that this is happening for the first time, she said it is mentioned on the menu. We asked her to show it. She spent literally 5 minutes going through the menu and couldn't find it. We asked for the manager. Even the manager told us it is in the menu, but it is not... - We asked for the Fresh Orange juice they publicize also in the kids menu. However, our very "helpful" waitress told us they do not have any fresh juices because there are no oranges left in the kitchen. She offered us ready to drink minute maid lemonade. We also raised this to the manager and he told us they have oranges and he squeezed them himself. They just blatanly lie to their guests not to make any extra effort. All in all, we now try to avoid this place at all cost. Question their menu items, prices before you order. If they are doing this to a regular customer, I don't know what would happen to foreigners or tourists.
