Service is wonderful and engaging - Juan Pablo is fun and made our meal.
The place is fantastic the food, the wine, the service the energy. I would eat here if you want a nice patio experience with lovely people and great food. The chicken liver with salad is to die for.
Such a lovely night with my dear husband and awesome daughter. We come here everytime we are in Puerto Vallarta. The Escargot then their special including 1 entree, 1 plat fort (starter), 1 dessert, and 1 wine for $499 pesos. The staff and owner are a kick. They make us laugh, give us suggestions, and give fabulous customer service. If you come to PV at all, make sure you check out the French La Cigale restaurant. Bon Appetit
I just moved into this neighborhood about one block away. I have driven by this restaurant many times but this was the first time I was able to try it. They did not disappoint! It was wonderful. We had an array of items, including a Foie gras pate, mussels and frites,Coq au vin. We had that along with a few other things, including the French onion soup. It was a wonderful meal. We had a nice bottle of wine. The service is friendly, the ambience is charming. Definitely will be there often.
It felt like I was back in Paris at Chez Rene, however this location has plenty of space and ambiance, the music and tropical atmosphere, champagne, the flavorful food. The champagne was not as savory as in Paris, I was expecting a buttery brioche, however the crisp floral notes did the job. The escargot/ caracoles were tres bien, more seasoned than in France, which I liked. Merci beaucoup Michael, your service was phenomenal, personalized and appreciated.
Everything was excellent, from the start, the seating, the attentiveness from the manager and waiter. I has the best French onion soup and my wife had the best escargot around. I had the delicious Beef Bourguignion and my wife had a salmon-both meals were filling. Prices are ok but the food was excellent-we don’t mind paying for fabulous food. We’ll return.
My wife and I dined here January 18th, she had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and I had the Boeuf Bourguignon. Both entrees were really good. Roberto was our server and was real pleasant and engaged us in lighthearted conversation. He was prompt and attentive and was the highlight of our visit. The atmosphere was very nice. Our Crème Brûlée dessert was terrific.
Upon walking in I was sure I had entered a little bistro on a small street in Paris with quaint French jazz playing taking me back to the 1940s (or so it seemed, as that was long before my time). Every course I had was better than the next. I couldn't believe how flavorful the food was, and how high quality the ingredients and for such reasonable prices. Even the house wine (a French Cabernet Sauvignon) was so yummy. The service was also impeccable. I really felt like I'd hit the lottery on this find, highly recommend. We recently visited the new location, and it is as good as ever. There are nice indoor and outdoor spaces, and it's the same taste and feel as before.
Such a delicious meal on a pleasant night in there outdoor patio. The service was outstanding, not rushed and very much in the French manner. The beef bourguignon was outstanding. As was the appetizer and salad. Paired beautifully with wines. High recommendation for this treasure in Versalles!
Wonderful French bistro. We enjoyed the tasting menu for restaurant week and everything was fabulous. We started with the French Onion Soup and the Cream of Celery soup. Both were delicious. The Vol au Vent had a flaky crust and delicious sauce. The Marinated Flank Steak was excellent, very tender with lots of flavor. The Crepes Suzette were wonderful and the Profiterole was excellent. Great choice.
Such a warm inviting place with amazing food! I was recently in Burgundy, France and much of the food is very similar which is hard to find in Puerto Vallarta. There is so much great food in Puerto Vallarta, but you will have a hard time finding French food like this. The escargot is amazing! Served perfectly the way I like it in France minus the shells. I wish I ordered more! The French onion soup was perfectly flavored and of course is a favorite of anyone who loves French food. The boef bourginon was excellent. Great cuts of beef, well spiced and marinated. We got a special as well. The sausage with Dijon mustard, fries and salad. Who could complain? I was so excited to dig in I burned my tongue. And then kept on burning it. Haha The service was amazing. The owner knows many languages and is from the south of France bringing authenticity to the food here in Puerto Vallarta. The environment was very cozy and had great French music. Everyone was friendly and it is obvious they have many return customers. As someone who lives here, I'm happy to have found this gem. I highly recommend this place and I will be going back many times.
We went there last night for the restaurant week. We had the warm goat cheese salad but one of our salads was not that fresh. My friends had the Vol-au-vent and were disappointed. I had the Grilled skirt steak with shallots which was excellent. We all had the Crepe Suzette for dessert which was really good. The staff was great, very friendly.
Very French. Layout. Food. A nice surprise in Mexico. I started with one of my favourites goat cheese salad. Very nicely done. My Moules Provencal were not that hot when they arrived at the table. The chocolate fondant was worth the wait. Got. Gooey. Delicious with exquisite chocolate taste. Good service. Give it a try.
Fake French restaurant, no soufflés. 😂🤷🏾♂️ Atrociously slow service. Inflexible service, can’t swap the fries for veggies. low grade wine list. Made a reservation for 12, table for 10 was ready. We had to carry tables and chairs… no plates… ordered 2 bottles of wine. Waiter only opened 1, and left one cup empty. They forgot the cocktail orders… they forgot the kids drinks… I had go get the bottle opener and open the 2nd bottle of wine… The food is on par. Everything needs salt. Onion soup is a little watery. Cheese on top is great. Steak was on par. Pork chop needs flavor. Duck confit needs salt
Even during restaurant week this place was far from worth it. Two restaurant week meals and two waters - $88USD and we left hungry and disappointed. We ordered house water to which they refused. Okay, fine. We had a sparkling water (regular Mexican brand) each instead. $70 PESOS EACH! More than beer at most places! Salad and French onion soup were both just okay but they also changed the portion size on the soup for restaurant week to be smaller than what’s seen in other review photos. Skirt stake was the smallest cut of beef we’ve had in PV. Included was some fries and salad with no dressing. Presentation was very poor. Desert was the best part but by no means made up for all the shortcoming. We definitely won’t come back or recommend to others. Terribly poor value.
