I went here out of curiosity and was pleasantly greeted by the staff and who I think was the owner of the establishment. He immediately gave me suggestions on what to order and explained that he made certain dishes and sauces by hand. How could I turn that down? I made my order which was made quickly. Walked in on a whim and ordered a “snack wrap” (any one who remembers McDonald’s doing theirs about a decade ago can remember how great that was) and while I was waiting there, I came across a desert that they had in their cooler - a “Tres Leches” cake with Oreo pieces on the top. They have a wide variety in their menu. I tried their smash burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The same goes for their burrito. The meat was seasoned to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyable and would go again just because of how good the smash burger was.

Yesterday I went to Just Halal after seeing it on the Halal Guide. It exceeded my expectations. There was a wide variety of food on the menu including Western, Middle Eastern, and Mexican. We tried items from all three menus such as the panini, smash burger, stuffed cheeseburger, masala fries and kabab over rice. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, and the portions were great. We also tried the mocktails (watermelon, mint, and mango), which are out of this world. Customer service was exceptional and the workers were very welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend Just Halal and I will definitely be back.

When looking for best halal food places on hillside, This is by far the best hands down. Everything from here from the smash burger, the chicken over rice, the gyro, and the fries, it’s all seasoned to perfection and tastes amazing and is definitely worth the price tag because of how fresh everything is and how it’s made in front of you. The guys who work there are always nice and they always greet you when you come in and they make the food fast with no discrepancies. The decor inside is very beautiful and bright and is up to date and feels like it’s from this generation with a tv that plays music and shows the music video to keep you entertained while you wait for you order. I gotta say I’ve been eating here since this place opened and they’ve expanded their menu since, I’ll always keep eating here because of most of these reasons but I’d also recommend for people to come and try here because you won’t regret it. - T.

Hands down the best spot in the area if you’re looking for good food for yourself or with friends and family. Would highly recommend the Smash burger, best one I had. Portion sizes are HUGE for the price. The people working there are friendly as well. We went right before they closed and they were able to accommodate us. Even gave us fries on the house. They also have an app you can order off and they usually have discounts in there. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My wife and I stopped by this place to grab a quick bite to eat. We chose the chicken gyro, stuffed cheeseburger with a side of truffle fries. I normally don't eat gyros/fries, but I decided to have a few bites of each and it completely changed my perspective. This place makes their chicken in such a unique way that it doesn't taste like any other. Definitely a place I need to visit again and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for quality food that doesn't lack in flavor.

The flavors are on point for everything I’ve had so far. Especially the chicken and waffles. They use a butter syrup sauce that I could drink without the chicken and waffles!! That dish is so good it’s worth traveling there just for that!! I also had the burger and chicken and rice. Again the flavors are on point and the guys there are always looking to improve their recipes so it can only get better!! Also had the truffle fries which was tasty as well. On a positive note they are hfsaa certified so eat without worry inshallah.

Just tried their food today, and YUM! The churros had a scrumptious taste. It was even better with the sauce it came with. The gyro wrap was also tasty. There’s so many topping within the wrap, so you get a lot for such a affordable price. Something else that I find cool about this establishment is that, there’s so much variety amongst the food. And, the image of the restaurant is also creative. Overall, everything was appetizing :)

I ordered the sweet chili and mango habenero wings. Sweet chili was so good. Their double patty smashburger was pretty dry. There was no sauce in it. Their crispy chicken sandwich had sauce and it was pretty good. Their mango mojito tastes like nothing so I wouldn’t get that again

Very friendly staff. Accommodating to customers needs and satisfaction. First time, good experience but a few things that I was not happy with. Majority of the food items were finished, it was a long wait to be served. I felt like I was forgotten about while I was starving, as other customers were coming and taking their food. It was close to the closing time maybe that’s why. The portion of food served was a bit small, we saw them throw out in front of us but gave us a small portion. Large fries box was pretty big but fries were less than half the size. Taste was amazing. Tried their steak bowl fries and mango mojito. Ambiance was good. Decorative and loud.

visited here since it recently opened, and we're slowly going through the menu have previously tried the mango mojito (which we liked!) today got lamb over rice ($10) burrito bowl ($11), a burger ($8), and chicken and waffles ($9) everything was well done and an expected price point for the area. I was most impressed by the chicken and waffles this time- I normally hate chicken and waffles, but this one was very good! the waffle was thin and sweet 😋 and we had the extra spicy sauce so it was even better. we also got a sweet dulce de leche sauce, both paired very well with the chicken and waffles! the burrito bowl and lamb over rice were pretty good as well. I personally didn't try the burger, but I heard that was very yummy as well! they have a very large selection of offerings, which usually means that everything is just okay (or sub okay), but so far so good! the interior is huge- plenty of seating and very deep once you get into the store - you wouldn't expect it from the outside. the store used to be a fish market, I'm glad this is what replaced it! conveniently located by the Q43/36/1/76/77 & N6/22/24 busstop :) the owners are super friendly and generous, I've been getting little perks every time I go since they recently opened, which I appreciate very much! I hope the quality of the food stays up! that's the biggest risk with a place like this. my only complaint is that the walls on the inside of the store look like a fever dream lmao. there are recognizable children's characters painted into a larger scene. I'm sure it took a great deal of time to make, which I appreciate, but it's a little scary-looking and definitely not a place to come to for the ~aesthetic~.

Solid Halal- really fresh with good quality veggies and meats. I'd never been here before- I'm glad I stopped in. I got a lamb/chicken halal platter with salad and rice. White sauce- Green Sauce- Hot Sauce. The rice & salad was very fresh with a decent variety of toppings. The chicken and Lamb were of good quality and fresh. This is not the run of the mill- belly bomber halal. This is better quality than average. I'll be back for sure. The ambiance doesn't really matter bc this is a takeout spot but it was clean when I went.

Very overpriced place for fairly average or below average food. I would rather go to a street vendor and have better food at lower price. (A chicken sandwich, small fries and a drink costed me more than $23) Also the waiting time was too much just for those items considering there were no other customers in the store.

Ordered both the lamb and chicken salad bowls. Both the chicken and lamb were very tasty however they seemed to have skimped out on the white sauce. I am not a big fan of shredded lettuce but if you are using shredded lettuce there should be no reason for me to be picking the butt of the lettuce out of my salad!!

The food is okay. but now received my doordash order and the rice is wrong, hummus and pita are missing. I’m confused why put mexican rice for a halal kebab dish. If you don’t have the rice, cancel the order. Ordered about 5-6 times in the past, hummus and pita were missing as well but the rice the main part of the dish was always right so i let it go.

Why does it smell like a cesspool every time I walk in here?!? The first time I came here the food was good. This time the stench was way worse. Please do something about this disgusting smell. Can’t believe nobody mentioned it in the reviews.

It was one of the worst Mediterranean kabab plater I have ever tasted. Only the kofta kabab was okay, but the other two kabab have no seasoning/ no taste at all, It's totally bland. Also meat wasn't cooked properly.

Ordered takeout from here and won’t be ordering again (except maybe the birria tacos). I ordered the Baja fish tacos, birria tacos, chicken and beef platter, and steak and fries. The fish taco was very salty and tasted like old oil. The sauces paired with the slaw and on top didn’t mesh well with the batter on the fish. Wasn’t a pleasant experience. The steak and fries I ordered for my son, so I asked for no sauces on it. It was ok. The steak had no flavor at all and the fries were just standard frozen fries. Nothing special. The chicken and beef platter was another disappointment. Beef was incredibly tough and chewy. The chicken was very bland. The rice had little flavor as well. The hot sauce, which I got on the side, was probably the worst hot sauce I’ve ever had. The birria tacos was the saving grace. The tacos were thick and filled with tender beef and consommé was thick as well. Most places have watery consommé so I liked theirs a lot. The flavor was pretty good as well. Wasn’t not a fan of their pickled onions, it was on the sweeter side. All in all, it was a disappointment. They should stick to just the birria tacos.

We come here every week but this time another worker was taking my order. I ordered a burrito bowl and truffle fries today. The burrito bowl was not the way we want it, the guy was not with us. He was thinking about something else. The truffle fries weren’t well done and a bit soggy. We had to heat it up in our air fryer to make them crispy. The guy taking my order was dismissive and not present with me. We are disappointed with our food.

People here are confused and are in a mess. Every single orders are wrong. Lack of manpower. Food is below average. Drinks will be mixed up. Initially was good. Became worse over time. Good luck in sustaining if this carries on

Ordered takeout from here and won’t be ordering again. I ordered the Beef steak bowl, chipotle chicken quesadilla & masala fries. The fries were very salty. The sauces paired with the bowl and on top didn’t mesh well with the steak bowl. Wasn’t a pleasant experience. The steak was very chewy & salty. It was ok. The steak had no flavor at all and the fries were just standard frozen fries. Nothing special. The chicken was very bland for the quesadillas. The rice also had no flavor as well.

I wanted to get some late-night food, so I looked around and found just halal. They closed at 11 PM, and it was 10:30 PM. I decided to check the menu and just wanted to get a smash burger and fries. I didn’t want to cause any inconvenience, so I called to make sure they could still take my order. I called at 10:34, and the man on the phone said they could make it—he even repeated my order back to me. I told him I was close (only five minutes away), and I headed over. When I walked into the store shortly after and went to the pickup area, I told them I had called for a pickup order. The man acknowledged he was the one who answered the phone. Then, he turned around and asked the cook if they could still make the order—and the cook said no. I asked why he told me on the phone that they could take the order if they couldn’t. The man just made excuses and said the kitchen was closed. The issue isn’t that they didn’t want to take a late order- it’s the fact they told me they would take it and then backtracked after I got there. The complete lack of communication between employees and the fact that I wasted my time going there is not okay. I’m extremely disappointed in the unprofessional behavior. I will not be coming here again.

I ordered a platter through a delivery service from here and the other times I ordered, the food was good. This time however, it was absolutely disgusting. Not only do they not advertise in their menu description that they put cilantro/cucumber in their platters (which they have not done before since I’ve ordered before), there was minimal white sauce in my platter. The hot sauce was coating the entirety of the platter. The white sauce was in two corners, that’s it. You know it’s bad when you take the food out and it’s just red everywhere. So order at your own risk because they’re lacking white sauce, that’s a definite. There were strands of lettuce that were obviously days old, which was just unappealing. Honestly, since I’ve ordered the same thing before, I expected it to be the same, but it was not. I’m allergic to cilantro and so I would know if there were any previously (which there wasn’t because like I said, I HAVE ORDERED FROM THEM MULTIPLE TIMES). Maybe they’re experimenting with the food, but I will not be ordering again. Such a shame.

Got two mix platters with white sauce, hot sauce and BBQ for delivery. Never have I ever had a worst experience. The hot sauce sauce to white sauce ratio was 10 to 1 (super weird) and there was cilantro mixed in with lettuce that was cut into long thin strands. Super awkward and weird experience. Do not recommend. Edit: possible new? owner decides to respond to my review a year later with this childish response should be enough to let you know if you should come here…

Listen, i never leave bad reviews . But you guys GAVE ME FOOD POISONING. Like I feel like such a karen even writing this but im dying right now. And to start off i ordered two things . First thing was steak platter it was decent but I made a mistake in mixing sauces and so I think me not enjoying it was totally my fault. Second thing was mango habanero wings, it came soggy , thats cool whatever its delivery not luxury meal ya know but after two wings i felt weird and stopped eating it . Two hours later I’m stuck in the bathroom and regretting every decision Ive made up until that point. I just want to warn ppl, i think maybe other food may be okay but just don’t risk eating chicken from here.😭

I had a really underwhelming experience at Just Halal. When I walked in, two guys were behind the counter one seemed to be prepping food, and the other was just hanging out behind the register. I waited with three other people to place an order, but no one even acknowledged us. The couple ahead of me actually left, probably frustrated by being completely ignored and went to the restaurant directly across the street. I gave up waiting after a few mins and decided to order from my car for pickup. That was a mistake. About 15 minutes later, I got the pickup confirmation and grabbed my food. The burrito bowl was honestly terrible. It was barely warm, with cold, soggy rice and an unreasonably small portion overall. The chicken was cut into such fine, tiny bits that I barely noticed it once I mixed everything together. There were almost no vegetables, greens, and absolutely no flavor. If you enjoy bland food with zero seasoning, this might be your spot but for anyone else, it’s a major letdown. The truffle fries were also disappointing. They looked nothing like the picture on Uber Eats. The portion size was okay, but they were soggy and unimpressive. Think McDonalds fries after you let them sit for a day with some seasoning thrown on top. Overall, the food was below average, and the service (or complete lack thereof) didn’t help. For the price, you can absolutely find better food with better flavor and actual customer service. I wouldn’t recommend Just Halal, and I definitely won’t be going back. WASTE OF MONEY! An empty restaurant during lunchtime near a bus stop is a huge red flag!

I ordered food through Uber Eats and went to pick it up after a little over 50 minutes. When I arrived and asked if my order was ready, the employee looked confused, like he had no idea what I was talking about. He then went to the back, checked the printer, and saw the order there. Beef birria tacos definitely don't taste as they did before. Look at the color of the broth, it was salty and did not taste like beef broth. It was used to have a very mild taste not that dark red color. For the chickpeas inside the gyro wrap smell Old when we left the food in the refrigerator for long days. I have to throw all the chickpeas and my son refused to eat that gyro. i guessing their chef has changed .because it was not like this before.so disappointing

* For the prices you would expect to get at least a tea that's not a powder from a container. Very surprised that drinks are made from a powder mix and water . Ordered a Thai tea and couldn't take more than 2 sips without tasting the chalky powder. *The food is nothing to write home about . The mixed lamb and chicken over rice was cold, not fresh and way too much salt ...again another overpriced item. Birria tacos same ..cold and overly salted . *Ordered a kids meal. Literally just fries and chicken tenders. It was so dark and burnt..The taste was bitter and the texture was rubbery as per the pictures My 6 year old refused to eat it. The fries were tasty but overcooked to extra crispy. *The cold food is because they have 5 guys cooking and one person taking care of walk in orders so anything you ordered is made and sat there until he's done taking another order. Nice guy but overwhelmed and flustered by multiple orders at once. The only redeeming thing was the churros and only if you eat them hot without the burnt caramel they give on the side. The takeaway , check your food before leaving . Seems like a good spot for the after school crowd that only prefers fast food. Hard pass on this ever again. Expected way way better based on the reviews.
