This place is AWESOME! It has some of the best pastries, both savory and sweet, that you’ll ever enjoy. Everything is fresh and baked daily. If you’ve never been before, there are cafeteria trays near the entrance that you grab, then use to walk around and pick up different pasties, and finally pack at checkout. Everything is very well priced, around $3 per serving, and definitely worth for the quality. If you have to try one thing, make it the almond half moon cake, it’s my absolute favorite.
I'm in my late 40s and the options and flavors here is a perfect modern twist on nostalgic favorites. Their flavors are beautifully familiar and brought me back to my childhood when I would visit a Chinese bakery weekly to pick out my favorite bake goods with my mother, great grandmother, and aunts.
Let me tell youuu !! This bread is sooo freaken soft and dreamy ! I literally crave it all the time and each piece melts in your mouth! I’ll attach a picture of what I got down below: Left is the garlic cheese and right is the sweet butter wreath 🤤 YUMMMMM doesn’t get any better than this
Came after eating lunch. The place is packed. The bakery has so many options from savory to sweet pastries, desserts and cakes in single sizes or a whole cake, and they also have different drinks to choose from such as coffee, boba teas, smoothies, bubbly teas, and more. The lines can be long but goes fairly fast to pay for your items. The drinks may take a bit longer to make and can be a wait. There are some seating options but most people order and take away. This is one of my favorite bakeries. The pastries here are delicious. I haven't had one that was bad. I go through different pastry favorites and currently it is the custard filled buns. It's got some sugar on it as well and tastes oh so yummy. Each pastry/bread is individually wrapped in plastic bag so is easy to handle. More sanitary. The prices are very reasonable and with so many options to choose from, it's well worth a visit.
Can't say anything bad about 85', just wish they still had a location near my home. We would visit often. Baked fresh daily goods, awesome breads, delicious cakes, outstanding service! Need more? Just take a look at the pictures and videos. I'd suggest trying the items you already enjoy based on taste preferences. And I'm sure that 85' will win you over. On your return visit, venture to try something new. The cakes, the mango cake is one of my favorites. This is one that everyone loved on our last get together. We will continue to return and try new and more items. Let me know your favorite. Until next time.
Wanted to try something a little different. Came in on Friday night around 7:30 pm and the line wasn't long at all. I tried the Cream Cheese Brioche Bun and The Mango Brulle Cake. Both were very good. The flavors were spot on. I would consider this a light treat that wasn't as sweet as many of the other bakery and treats in the area. Worth giving it a try.
I’ve been to 85 bakery before but in dallas so this spot in Houston was a first. Still a good spot for all your Asian pastries cravings. Our go to spot for taro pastries. We got the marble taro bun, macadamia cookie, grapefruit green tea, and matcha oat PSL. The matcha was excellent, tasted exactly like described with pumpkin. The grapefruit green tea was so refreshing and the macadamia cookie was delicious. We will definitely be back if we are in town. Service was kind of as expected, it’s self serve as far as picking your pastries and paying in the front. As expected for a pastry shop, it’s a grab and go setting, some sit down but not much. Till then, let’s eat!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing sweets and breads! From chocolate, mango, and strawberry mousses to delicious taro and matcha cakes, 85°C Bakery Cafe is to die for. Their coffee bar is fantastic, offering everything from delicious lattes to bobas and teas. I’d recommend them all. They also have savory cheese pastries and everything your sweet tooth could desire. It's a must-try!
One of the best bakeries I’ve been! We bought a bunch of different stuff to try. My favorite was the milk pudding, I wish I had bought more of them. The lemon cake was great too. Everything is very fluffy and not too sweet so is very enjoyable. The sea salt caramel iced coffee tasted like a normal caramel iced coffee but it was still pretty good. I got maybe 8 different items and payed around $40 including the drinks. We liked everything we tried.
I loved the place and the visuals of the drinks, baked food and pastries. Truly amazed by the number of varieties they had. Everything looked so yummy. I would say this is a very good cafe to explore different tastes of baked food, also drinks. Fresh, clean and tasty. The store is also clean with good ambience. I had chocolate bun, cheese bun and cream bun, and red bean bun all tasted good. Would highly recommend chocolate bun and cream bun. Looking forward to trying all their items on menu.
My first visit to this place. This place is a definition of freshness. There baked item are so fresh and delicious and also their cakes are so good with very balanced not too much sweetness. I love this place. Mango pana cotta was so good in taste although the unripe mangoes are top of it. We also had strawberry cream , classic tiramisu and pudding all of them are very tasty and very balanced sweetness. Overall this place is awesome.. thumbs up 👍
Excellent place to find and satisfy your bakery cravings. As we came into the store they're were re-stocking some of the more popular items too! This place is practicing social distancing as well. Employees were very nice and helpful. The items we got were great. The drinks are sweet and tasty as well. Parking is easy when it isn't busy. The location around this place is quite busy. But other than that, it's an amazing place to grab your favorite sweets and bakery. I would definitely recommend this place!
A very large bakery from the outside ; spacious on the inside however we were expecting a larger selection given the size of the place. Despite the size there was also little seating which forced us to eat in our car. We got the egg tart and the red bean pastry. The egg tart was amazing; sweet and flaky while also being savory from the egg. The red bean pastry was also good but lacked freshness. Overall would recommend if in the area.
After reading so many good reviews, I decided to try 85C Bakery. The bakery is super clean. Parking is easily available. The staff is also friendly. I was a bit disappointed by the baked goods. There wasn’t a variety of croissants. Possibly because we went in the evening. We picked a few from whatever they had left. Most items were meat based. The baked good were stored in a plastic bag. The plastic bag made the croissants too soft. They were not fluffy or flaky. We also tried a custard filled bun, which tasted okay. Some of the items had an egg smell, maybe due to the egg wash. I guess it was a miss day for us. The prices were decent. Do check them out if you want to give it a try.
I came here on Christmas Day to pick up some pastries and coffee to go. After paying, I waited quite a long time for our drinks. I remained patient and calm while other customers continued to pick up their orders and leave—many of them after us. Eventually, when no one else was waiting anymore, my husband stepped over to the drink station and asked whether our order might have been missed. The female barista looked at our receipt and began searching through a receipt box nearby. She went through receipt after receipt, even dumping the entire box out, but still didn’t find anything. During this time, we continued waiting, and she didn’t take our receipt from us either. Another barista came over and was told what had happened. They finally asked for our receipt and began making the drinks without saying anything to us. One finished drink was placed on the counter with a “here you go” tone, as if that was all. Before she walked away, I said, “Excuse me, we ordered two drinks.” She replied, “Oh, what’s the other one?” I explained both orders because I didn’t know which drink had already been made. She made the second drink and placed it on the counter, but again, I didn’t know which drink was which, so I asked. She told us and walked away. I then noticed there were no order stickers on the cups, which they usually use. I’m not sure why that changed, but it may explain how the order was missed or mixed up. I understand it was Christmas and the staff was working hard, and I don’t expect constant smiles. However, the overall mood felt cold, and no one apologized for the long wait or the confusion. I left feeling disappointed and wishing I had chosen another coffee shop today.
