Recently went to Adulis with ~25 people with no reservation. We were immediately told by the owner that it was just he and his mom and if we wouldn't mind being patient. We were happy to wait of course as we had seen the 4.9 star rating. My table ordered the veggie platter, doro wot, lamb tibsi, and awaze tibs. Each dish was incredible. Our table fell into absolute silence as we shared the meal. We also ordered honey wine which was delicious. We were given as much injeera as our heart desired. We were offered traditional coffee and tea after our meal. They also presented a pan of smoking coffee beans to us as a sign of hospitality. We were welcomed with such love and care it was truly an unforgettable experience that I will keep with me for a long time. And I will most certainly be back!
Great food and absolutely the best service. My wife and I came here for our first anniversary and we were glad we did. Definitely coming back with my siblings and friends. The mother and son duo were very friendly and accommodating
This was my second time at Aduli’s and I came with the rest of my housemates. I thoroughly enjoyed my first dining experience with this establishment. The owner’s mother was incredibly kind and offered us a free drink. I decided to recommend this place to my five other roommates, and we came by for a House dinner. The ambience was very inviting and warm, and the owner tailor the music to our taste. The food was prepared to our liking and the owner constantly checked on us to make sure we were satisfied. He was incredibly accommodating and told us about his journey starting this restaurant.
A Warm welcome to Authentic Ethiopian Cuisine TEXAS!! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Ethiopian gem, and I was blown away by the exceptional service and mouth-watering dishes. From the moment we arrived, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and took the time to understand our preferences. Their personalized recommendations were spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The veggie platter was a highlight, featuring an array of flavorful dishes like ades, elicha, goomen, and more. The presentation of the injera was impressive, and the chicken version was delicious. What struck me was the familiar taste, reminiscent of Kerala cuisine back home in India. The owner's mother's recipes truly shine through in every dish. I'm already planning my next visit and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The hospitality, flavors, and atmosphere all come together to create a truly unforgettable experience. *Will definitely be back!*
Omg the food here is delicious! We had the veggie platter and it was great! Big enough platter for two people. Great friendly service and they explained what everything was. Great healthy Ethiopian food. Highly recommend.
We had the vegetarian platter and it was plenty for two people. Wow... the food was outstanding!! If you have had Ethiopian food before, this place will not disappoint. If you have not, you are in for a real treat. Highly recommended.
10/10 — Totally worth it! Not just for the food (which is amazing), but for the incredible service too. I went with my husband for lunch and we instantly felt at home. The place, the food, and even the drinks have this earthy vibe — you can just feel the love and authenticity in everything. What really stood out is that this place is more than just a restaurant. It’s clearly focused on sharing and teaching about Eritrean culture, not just selling food. The ladies who greeted us gave us a little cultural lesson right away and were so warm and attentive — they answered our questions before we even had to ask! Between drinks, shots, and food, we spent about $90, but honestly, the atmosphere, the experience, and the kindness of the staff are priceless. ❤️
Amazing family business loved the customer service and food always amazing everything I tasted was delicious doro wat sambusa and amaze tins my favorite I always make my way here I love them adulis
My wife and I decided to look up this place and try it out. We were not disappointed! Top notch home style cooking Eritrean food similar to Ethiopian food we had at Lucy’s restaurant and Blue Nile and Bahel. The air conditioner was decent. Food came out hot! We had veggie combo and Derek tibs beef. They make their injera fresh! They also give free authentic fresh popped popcorn with a little sweetness. The son is the one who opened the restaurant for his mother. The mother gave us complimentary honey wine, and it was excellent! We all toasted together lol Will come back again!
The veggie platter and chicken and rice are AMAZING!! The ingera is so so so good and they give you plenty and brought more when we were running low. This place is so underrated and we will definitely becoming regulars here. So flavorful and delicious and the portions were good my partner and I took home lots of leftovers.
We had the most amazing experience ever!! The other reviews are correct. They treat you like family and feed you like family! The food was so seasoned, so flavorful. The honey wine and other drinks that are homemade are absolutely LOVELY. Different, but lovely. I could not even tell you what everyone ordered because we all gobbled it up super fast. I always take pictures of my food though. Shown is the chicken and rice entree. SOOOOO GOOOOD. the portions are definitely for 1-2 people. We drove 17 minutes from the medical center area to here and would totally do again. I am certain she is back there cooking everything fresh herself, so it took a little longer, but SO WORTH THE WAIT! Please support this small AMAZING business!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 as you can see....we cleaned our plates!! Update: went back again on 12/20/2025. Died and went to heaven 🤣😂🥹 empty restaurant but should definitely be overflowing with ppl. I should totally gatekeep but I dont want them to close down 😅 The plate with the rice is Chicken and Rice. The other Derek beef tibs 100/10 recommend
I came during lunch hours and it was empty which was great because I was the only one being served. First time trying Eritrean food. I think I love it just as much as Ethiopian cuisine! Hats off to the chef and the family for creating Adulis. Great smells of herbs, spices, & incense as you enter, with dim lighting setting the mood, & enjoyable music. The veggie platter filled me up and highly suggest sharing with others because it is plentiful. So many different flavor profiles and combinations that left me feeling beyond satisfied. The presentation of the food is so intentional and colorful. I hope more and more people find out about this place because it is AMAZING! The owner was such a lovely woman and I am excited to return with my friends & family!
First time trying , I can say we were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and delicious. Had a lot of flavor and the portions were great. I definitely recommend it. On top of that, the lady that helped us, made us feel very welcoming. She was very attentive and nice. Even gave me a tea for my cough.
Authentic Ethio/Eritrean food. Cool vibe. Delicious food. I visited this restaurant last weekend for a pre wedding gathering and we had a blast. I recommend this restaurant for visitors and In town folks.
It's a family owned business where the owner's mom is the chef. The food is really authentic, feels like home cooking. The lamb tibs was very flavorful. The veg platter had alot of variety. She really took care of us like we were her own family. We came with kids and she made sure they were well fed, it was absolutely very sweet of her to make food off tje menu for them. Absolutely loved loved everything about this place. Will Def Wana keep coming back here.
⸻ I had the most heartwarming experience at this family-owned East African restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by their son, who also served as our waiter and he was amazing. He was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the food, sharing the stories and ingredients behind each dish with so much pride and love. He explained that his mother is the chef, his father helps out, and he runs the front of the house. It was truly a beautiful family operation. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You could feel the culture and tradition in every bite. This wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. Support this gem if you’re in the area. It’s rare to find a place that feels like both a restaurant and a home. I’ll definitely be back!
This is what you call a family owned business!! So amazing the owner who is the son of the family greeted us at our table. They were so welcoming and kind. The food is AMAZING!! They give you an experienceeeee! I felt so at home here! Amazing food, atmosphere, and experience. I left there with the biggest smile on my face. 10/10

We had an amazing experience at Adulis. We ordered the Veggie Platter, Original Tibbs, and the Chicken Fried Rice. The tibbs were exquisite, very rich and bursting with flavor; they paired well with the sourness of the injera. The veggie platter was incredible, a mixed plate of different vegetarian wot atop a soft injera, also bursting with savory, earthy, and spicy flavors. And finally, the chicken fried rice. While I don’t eat chicken, the rice itself was fantastic; aromatic, rich, and buttery, it paired delightfully with the creamy sauce that was drizzled on top. The service provided to us by Chef Berhana was wonderful. She was very kind, and not only did she help us decide what to pick, but she also offered us free tea. If you’re in a hurry, do keep in mind that the dishes take their time to come out, but it’s absolutely worth it. Overall I would give 5/5 stars to Adulis; it has easily become my #1 East African restaurant. Highly recommended for those seeking something unique and exciting! We drove for nearly an hour from Spring, TX, and we would do it again in a heartbeat, and that says something!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish was well-presented, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The portions were generous and worth the price.
Yummy! We got awaze tibs and it came with salad and plenty of injeri. It was so flavorful! The Awaze tibs had peppers, onions in it too. It was plenty for 2 people. The lady who served us also cooked, and she was super sweet! But it does required a little wait. We went lunch at 1230p and we were the only ones, our own personal restaurant!

I recently visited Aduli’s Ethiopian Restaurant, a wonderful family-owned spot that instantly made us feel at home. The wife welcomed us so warmly that it truly felt like we were dining in her own home. She crafted delicious cocktails, and her house honey wine is an absolute must-try. The food was beautifully served, authentic, and made with so much care—it felt truly special. The husband was equally kind, greeting us with a smile and even helping us pack our leftovers. Overall, we loved our experience. If you’re looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine with genuine hospitality, this place is a must-visit!
We’re big fans of Ethiopian cuisine and visited with high expectations. We ordered the vegetarian platter, but unfortunately the flavors were underwhelming and didn’t feel authentic. The ambiance also lacked the atmosphere of a fine dining experience. Overall, it didn’t meet our expectations, and we wouldn’t plan to return.
