This is a great fine dine restaurant for a dinner date or for any special occasion .We absolutely loved our experience here the staff was great the service was quick yet thoughtful. They do ask for allergies/reactions so they are very careful. The restaurant was quite and beautiful experience .The food is delicious loved every bite.Do ask for wine recommendations and they have a wine taste just before to make sure you like it.
I'm room dining 3.5 and restaurant dining 6 Lunch: I was kindly welcome by the host, promptly seated to a table of my liking, which got warm in the sun and then kindly moved by waitstaff. The decor was elegant, I enjoyed the chandelier with the hanging raw crystals. My waitress was happy to discuss menu items - I like to inquire into flavor profiles to avoid choosing an option not to my liking. I ordered the tortilla soup. The cocktail wasn't anything spectacular. I expected floral notes as flowers was in its title and an edible flower. The warm bread roll was large sweet bread with a light dust of salt to complete a sweet and salty pairing - the honey butter was delicate and came out at perfect temperature. The tiny bowl made it easy to wipe up every bit of the perfect butter with the soft airy baked with love bread. The soup broth was kept in a separate warm pitcher, poured for me when delivered and it was a captivating. I appreciate that as it does not wilt cook or moisten the fresh ingredients en route to the table and keeps the broth at perfect temperature. The avocado was peak fresh, could have been cut in uniform sizes to the other vegetables, I did have to cut it into bite sizes. The tortillas did not turn soggy and I appreciate this. The broth immediately filled my senses. The silverware and soup spoon were elegant and substantial. Chicken tortilla soup has a savory smoky aromatic fragrance somewhat hint of rustic "gamey-ness" complex oil of fats and aroma - It works! It was unique and a very thick and well saturated in flavor, bold, not a light broth by any circumstance- it was deep, earthy, blended balance of spices - the spice lingered subtly and softly in the palette after and washed down with water - fresh ingredients picked at perfection! This rustic craft artisan chicken tortilla soup was my favorite item. I enjoyed dipped and sobbing up the broth within extra sweet roll they so kindly provided. The chicken: I enjoyed the aroma, it was an earthy herb . It was moist and succulent, perfectly cooked, bone in. The waitress offered a wine sampling as I wanted a nice pairing, a new Sonoma Chardonnay, not too dry and a hint of butter, it paired well - the chef let's ingredients natural flavors be the star, via quality ingredients. The vegetables perfectly charred and al dente - The plate arrived hot to keep the food warm. The broccolinis & peppers natural flavors was brought alive. char allows the complex flavors of vegetables to be dynamic. Chicken sauce consistency was balanced, lemon not overbearing, I wish I had a bit more!. The sauce had hint of sun dried tomato herbs. The pickled topping made a fresh match.. the pickling vegetables are chilled - the food here is definitely not one note, it is a symphony! Each instrument, heard. The zucchini was cut thick enough to not become mush, until leftover - these dishes are made to be enjoyed right away served with optimal timing. The serving size could serve two people.

[Update July 2024: still an absolute winner on a recent visit for dinner. New photos added.] A lovely Sunday brunch here at Tribute. We got off to a slightly slow start, but they were very busy and the staff stayed friendly and kind. Excellent food is coming when you dine here, so don't Hoover down a dozen of their delicious rolls. (Much easier said than done.) For wine and spirits lovers, you're going to have fun making your way through their deep selection. We are inside but the patio area among the trees is beautiful. It's worth planning a little extra time to stroll around and enjoy the oasis of The Houstonian's grounds. We look forward to returning!
I went to Tribute last night with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. I had been there years ago and the restaurant remains excellent. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Chelsea was super friendly and took great care of us. Other staff also stopped by our table to congratulate us. Overall we had a great dinner, and definitely plan to come back again soon!
Great service. Friendly staff. Tasty snd filling meal. Artistic presentation. Lovely atmosphere.
The Houstonian Hotel was absolutely the finest Hotel, the most relaxing spa and pool area, and the staff remembered your name, greeting you at each passing!
Absolutely wonderful food and exceptional service! The best of 3 worlds; Texan, Cajun & Spanish cuisine 👌🏾
Can never go wrong eating here. Awesome atmosphere and great steak.
Excellent meal and service to boot! Fantastic food, cocktails and wine selection.
Delicious food! Their breakfast menu is incredible. Highly recommend.
Food is very high quality Presentation is exceptional Service is top notch Ambience is quietly serene
Great spot for an intimate dinner with your love and / or friends. We'll always be back for the filet!!!
A beautiful place to eat..great abd excellent food and customer service...the rolls are to die for...
I had the most delicious Seafood Salad. Service was great!
Luis is a wonderful server. Great calm atmosphere and very good food.
Dine weekly. Never disappointed. Wonderful staff, ambience and the chefs are incredible.
Had an excellent lunch here. Fancy but relaxed. Excellent location.
Excellent food and service. Menu really diverse and interesting.
Friendly staff. Beautiful building. Delicious food. Need I say more?
Edwardt was amazing! He made sure he catered to our needs. His assistant was chill and funny too. We always always had some type of food on our plate. The place was beautiful, clean and super nice. Lots of good pictures and good times!
Fabulous renovation! We have been thrilled with the upgrade of the old Olivette to the new Tribute. Decor is intimately luxurious, with good sound proofing. Salad choices aplenty and well portioned. Food is a tasty fusion of Continental with a twist of French creole and local flavors. Love the Wagyu rib, Shrimp/Oxtail. Most memorable is the dinner roll, it's brioche like, easily the best restaurant bread I have had in Houston. Tribute is classy without the loud music, so it's perfect for conversation with friends and family. Great job Houstonian!
The best Suadero Tacos in Houston and probably in America. Chef Juan Tuch will surprise you with his creativity with the menu. Unforgettable flavors and excellent service. A must in Houston. In addition, you will enjoy the magnificent Oak that welcomes you with amazing lighting!
Hands down the best Supper experience in Houston. The attention to detail was fantastic. The house was on point serving the best flavors of Houston in that classic hospitable style that the Lone Star State is known for.
We have our annual company Christmas dinner here every year and it never disappoints. Service is always perfect and the food incredible.
Very nicely decorated. Nice varied menu. Nice, delicious portions. Certainly pricey. Great, attentive service.
Great food, amazing service, and lovely setting. Great for a memorable family dinner, romantic night, or any event we want to celebrate, or just a great dinner any night of the week. Thanks to the entire Tribute team!
Had a brunch with my girlfriend and our babies. Food was delightful and the service as well. The AC was a bit too cold but not an issue!!
Wonderful spot for brunch. The waitstaff are incredible.
I must say, the treatment, service, and food were way past top notch! Everything was wonderful! I can't say enough good things about this place! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Amazing food! Nice, quiet restaurant perfect for business meetings. Service was attentive and fast.
Breakfast for a KING + QUEEN. One of the best ever, cinn waffle, brisket HASH (omg), good coffee, and the SERVICE is above the competition. Great experience all around.
Great food and atmosphere! Look forward to visiting again.
I always enjoy breakfast at the Trubute. The huevos rancheros is stunning. Gracious service makes the Tribute a "must experience".
I've been coming here for decades. The level of service has never fallen below excellent. The food is always artistic.
One of the finest restaurants i have been to so far. The food is amazing and the ambience is extraordinary.
Perfect ambience, excellent food, attention to detail, superb service! What more can we say. It was an excellent choice to celebrate a double birthday dinner with hubby. Our server, Erick was amazing! He made sure that dinner was served extra special and was very accommodating when we asked him about the history of the restaurant and the Manor House. Thank you for making our day great!
What a magical night at the restaurant! The dining area exuded a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, bustling with a delightful energy. The delectable dishes arrived piping hot, tantalizing our taste buds and elevating our dining experience. Our attentive server went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our meal was taken care of meticulously, leaving us feeling incredibly spoiled and cherished throughout the evening.
I started at the Trellis Spa and saw the Tribute had a few more options so I decided to walk over. What an amazing place to dine! I was blown away by the food and service. Will definitely be back.
The food and customer service are what keep this hidden gem so superlative in a city of exceptional dining experience's.
The attentiveness of the staff and food are too selling points here. I've only been here for breakfast for networking events but each time I leave feeling like I was taken care of! It's hard to recommend just one dish, but I usually go with the omelette. Portion sizes are STELLAR!
Lovely brunch...I wish there were more hot food options, seemed to focus more on salads and cold foods, but on a Sunday I tend to enjoy something a bit heartier. The flan is absolutely DIVINE! ...ambiance is very upscale. Beautiful surroundings. Complimentary valet parking, High dollar btw.
This is a great restaurant! All the dishes were fresh and delicious. The rib eye was cooked perfectly, just how I asked for it!
I travel a lot. Nearly always, I avoid eating at the hotel. But today, I just needed a quick lunch and didn’t want to drive. So, I decided to eat here. The quality of the food far surpassed my expectations. The bread is baked on site. The soup and salad were both fantastic. And to top it off, my server was attentive, professional and just sufficiently personal and engaging to make me feel like she cared. Great experience!
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I thought it would be another one of those overpriced restaurants that focus on more of the vibe and not the food, but I was very wrong. This place not only has excellent customer service, a quaint upscale atmosphere, and AMAZING food! The food was fresh and perfectly seasoned along with good size portions. Will be dining here again.
Always great food and service. The restaurant is really nice for it's larger layout and quieter dining atmosphere. Dinner menu has plenty of options and the vegetarian enchiladas are awesome. Done great mixed drinks at well as a good selection of hard liquors and plenty of whiskeys.
Manor House on steroids!! Food was.....(real)....If you grew up in Texas then you will understand that phrase. Service was 5 star. A must to have a perfect evening.
Incredible place. Very clean and luxurious. Centered in the main lobby of the hotel. Staff are extremely attentive and pleasant. We were served by Eduart, he is a consummate professional. We had the crawfish hushpuppies. Very crisp, clean flavor, adequate amount of crawfish. Salmon was excellent and the snapper was amazing. The bread and butter are addictive. I would leave off the coconut on top of the tres leches, but overall the meal was amazing. Highly recommend.
I really enjoy meeting friends here, their chicken soup is one of my favorites. I'm not a fan of the Bison dish I had for dinner, as I don't think it was cooked properly, but I ate it anyway, ha. Still, I will go back time and again, good atmosphere, delicious food.
Absolutely fantastic experience- great food and incredible service. Within 30 seconds of being seated, the staff had already poured me coffee, orange juice and water. They were all so kind, helpful and professional. The food came out fast and hot. Will certainly be back. Thank you so much to the friendly staff working on Christmas Day!
Best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had. I prefer the broth-style of this soup flavor. TX Wedge salad was excellent as well. Just need to upgrade the coffee quality.
Exelente lugar y exelente personal. ...
Excelente lugar muy recomendable
Oh la la!
Went here for a birthday dinner with my sister and her children and my boyfriend. The ambience is beautiful and the staff was so accommodating. We went in at 8:15pm and they close at 9:00pm, I am sorry, but they did not rush us at all and gave us the full experience. They ribeye was the best, the cheese sticks were tasty, the Mac and cheese was mehh..., The chicken was on point, and I do not like salmon so I did not try it. The dessert was good too. There is one that is called abuelita something, it was my favorite, the cheesecake was good too. I enjoyed my time here. Wouldn't mind going back next year, cause it costs a pretty penny. 👍👍
Upscale dining for intimate dinners or private parties. Great ambiance, great service, pricy.
A staple for my family. Used to be Olivetti's and the deserts, butter, bread, and atmosphere were better. Food is still hood, but removing excellent fare doesn't make sense like the tres leches, devils food cake, southwest ceasar salad, arugula salad with cherries... and the seafood was better.
Service, food, and ambiance are always outstanding here. Everything makes you feel special. The only reason I took off a star was for the wait both coming and going for the valet.
I enjoyed the Tribute Burger, but our waiter forgot the amazing bread that Tribute serves. Enjoyed the experience though!
Very good buffet brunch. Adult drinks were priced high considering the alcohol used, but that is to be expected from the area.
We ate here several times during our two day stay at the Houstonian. I really wanted to give the place a 5 star because just about all the staff were fantastic except for one waitress at 10:02 PM wouldn't get us another beer because the bar closed at 10 PM. But the food wasn't quite 5 star. The bread they serve as an appetizer with honey butter is phenomenal. The King Inn salad is great. But the $45 ribeye was just marginal. I requested it medium rare and it came out a good medium. The seasoning was decent but the marbling was mediocre. It was much more like a strip but not as tender. I had the tres leches cake for dessert and it was marginal. It was kind of clumpy with uneveness in consistency. Probably should have had the pear tart. I had a burger for lunch the next day and while HUGE and filling wasn't particularly flavorful. Portions were good. Staff followed good COVID precautions and were courteous. I'll go again.
Buena cocina la lubina y el pollo excelentes y el servicio dificil de mejorar tal vez el aire acondi ionado algo frio
The food is excellent but it is fairly pricey although in line when you consider the standard of the hotel. It is in The Houstonian Hotel which is a bit off the beaten path but a real treasure.
Restaurant doesn’t have the same high standards as it used to in previous years, what with the high turnover rate of management and staff. The ladies working the hostess desk now are the worst that I’ve ever experienced. Unprofessional and unorganized. They fail to recognize loyal patrons and resident members of the club and prioritize their seating preference. The service from waitstaff is still excellent and they are very hardworking long-time employees. The food is good, and the featured specials are always delicious.
Their bread is so soft-chewy! The salmon was cooked very nicely~. Tres leches was a bit dry for my preference.
The food here is amazing in my opinion. I can’t get enough of their oysters and crab claws! But the service the last time we went was subpar. We were seated 8:30 and by 9:05 still had nothing on our table, not even drinks. Normally if it were just me and my husband, I wouldn’t mind, but we had invited two other couples who were getting visibly sleepy and bored. When we finally got drinks, getting a refill was nearly impossible. At one point, I glanced around the table to see empty wine and whiskey glasses and noticed our server wasting time topping up another table’s water glasses instead. The poor service totally killed the night and the mood. Was really excited to introduce this place to our friends but doubt they will ever want to come back. I think this place is just understaffed and it may not be our server’s fault… don’t know but it was very disappointing.
The first time I came, I loved the service and the veggitarian (or maybe vegan) enchiladas. Second time we went around 230 on a Saturday and they were still serving the brunch menu and informed us we had to order ASAP because the kitchen was closing. There was one veggitarian item that was a wild mushroom dish and one veggie salad. Was very disappointed.
Disappointing restaurant for such a great location. We have eaten here a couple of times when staying at the Houstonian. Both were sub-par. The most recent in March 2024 was very disappointing. My wife had filet mignon. It was undercooked and had an off flavor. It tasted like a smoke seasoning had been added. The potatoes with it were lacking in flavor. I had the puerco pibil, which was featured on the menu as a signature dish for the restaurant's style. It was bland. It was supposed to come in an achiote sauce. The sauce was watery and almost flavorless. I have had a similar dish at a few restaurants in the city, and it should have a deep flavor with a thicker sauce. This missed badly on that. The rice accompanying the dish was underseasoned. Our cocktails were very good. And the bread was good too. The waitstaff was fine. It took them a while to get to us, but after that we were taken care of. The Houstonian is a beautiful property and could provide amazing views for the diners. But only a few tables can see the front lawn of the hotel/spa complex. It feels like the restaurant was a complete afterthought. Incidentally, we have had good bar eats at the bar adjoining the restaurant. So if you have to eat at the hotel, I suggest you try the bar.
Very unprofessional and rude wait staff. Lowest quality of customer service I have encountered. Skip this place to eat.
The manager always looks like she’s busy and hurry you up to take the table and looks like she doesn’t want you if you are not a member of the club.
Told me I could bring my dog on the phone, then once I arrived told me I couldn’t have my dog. Annoying and rude, couldn’t even try the food.
My family of 10 ate there today and the service was incredibly slow ( I drank three glasses of water before they even brought us our drinks 20+ minutes later! ), the food requests were ignored (don't fall for the "gluten free" options), two of the burgers that were ordered were not correct and made both my fiancee and I terribly sick. and as for the prices, they were too high for the low quality of food and service. with all the hype this place gets, we were severely disappointed!
The service and the food were good but we will not be returning after been disappointed by its poor management. It looks like you have to be a member to ask for something specific like a table by the window. Very bad experience if you are not a member!!
I went to celebrate my Mother's birthday for lunch. I was excited to go but excited quickly dissipated when I had to fight off knats from food! When I spoke to wait staff, she was nonchalant and blamed them on plants!
The manager hurries you up to take the table when finish but when you need the service looks like she's very busy. She treats you different if you're not member of the club.
The food is spectacular and the place is very nice, but the manager has a very bad attitude… she is too busy, with a bad character and does everything in a bad way
My wife and a friend had lunch Tuesday. The waitress brought the coffee but without the saucer. How does a hotel restaurant run out of dishes?
Service is great, clean! Food - not fine dining at all, neither quality nor taste. Not worth of the price at all. Waste of time for food. Good place for venu, but no for date or dinner, zero atmosphere. I felt like I am in a luxury hotel in village.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Over a month ago, I called and requested a dinner reservation for the Wine Room at Tribute scheduled two days from now, a Saturday evening, for my anniversary. The nice woman who took the call told me she would confirm with her manager that they could reserve the room and call me back. I received a text message confirming, and I called back to the restaurant to confirm after I didn’t receive a call back. I was told on that call that we were good to go. This morning, two days before our anniversary, Tribute calls to inform me that the manager has cancelled my reservation for the Wine Room and to ask if I would be seated in the main dining room. There was no offer of any discount or other benefit after my reservation was cancelled without reason. And, most other restaurants of this supposed caliber are fully booked for a Saturday dinner reservation at this point. This level of unprofessionalism (the unexplained cancellation and the seriously late notification) is ridiculous at this price point and given prior reviews of the fine dining experience, especially after I confirmed that I would pay the $250 minimum for the private room. Great start to a hopefully better weekend in Houston!
The dining experience was not good at all. The waitress forgot our drinks. The salmon was over cooked. There was so many negatives about our dining experience. We’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant and it was very disappointing.
La manager es grosera con los clientes si no le gusta su trabajo que se busque otro gracias
