This was a great experience. Great food and great service despite it being a very busy Friday afternoon during lunch hours.
The food was delicious and well served. The waiter was very nice and knew the food well. We hadn't eaten there in quite a few years and missed some of the items we wanted that were no longer on the menu. Which was fine. We just found new things to try and enjoy. The dessert was fantastic too!
It was our first time dining here and we loved the flavors and portions of our food. The fried zucchini was great and I especially liked the stuffed crab and shrimp on the Deluxe Platter. The Mahi and carrots with pistachios was excellent. We plan on coming back here again to enjoy different plates and their delicious cheesecake!
Chayenne was so great ! it was my first time eating here earlier and everything was amazing
It was my first time eating there and let me tell you that it was such a pleasant experience. The food was just delicious 🤤. From the moment we walked in down to our server, she was just AWESOME 😎 I could only hope to get a server like that at other locations that I go, which I don't go out often and all I can say about Pappas is WoW. I highly recommend this place in Humble on hwy59 heading North.
We went on Christmas eve.. late afternoon. There was no wait and we were seated right away.. we decided to share our favorite items..a great salad and the very tasty Salmon Alexander.. That plate is so amazing.. sometimes we get all shrimp and sometimes leave it with the shrimp and scallops. Only once did the scallops not have enough color.. this plate will always be a favorite.. and it's a great share for seniors
Sat at the extra bar area and had the mozzarella bites for an appetizer which was a lot more than i expected was def more cheese than one person needs to eat at once 🤣 but was very tasty with the marinara sauce. The main dish was Crawfish Ettoufee with rice and Fried Crawfish, when it came out I was suprised by the large portions. All n all it was a very enjoyable experience and def will be going back in the future 🙏
The shrimp alfredo pappardelle pasta was delicious. I would order this dish again. If you’re a pasta and seafood lover like me, I would say this is worth a try. Large amount of food for the price but I wouldn’t recommend warming this up for a day two meal. You will be left with a greasy mess, as the alfredo sauce doesn’t do well in the microwave.
Stop scrolling and head to Pappas! We visited the Houston area for 1 day due to a flight delay and are so glad we chose to eat here. We ordered the Pappas Deluxe Platter, the Mahi & Lemon Chili Crab, and the Jumbo Shrimp Brochette which is what our waiter, Jeremy L., recommended. First , I will say it was way too much food for 2 people, but being from west Texas fresh seafood is hard to come by so we splurged because we wanted to try different things. The entrees were all large- it was enough for 3-4 people easily. Every portion of food starting with the fresh bread and butter was absolutely excellent. Jeremy’s recommendation, the shrimp brochette, was the best overall dish I have tasted in a very long time. The mains and sides were all perfect. We finished with the turtle fudge brownie for dessert. Words cannot describe how delectable this ice cream covered brownie is. I could’ve died at the table and left happy. Our server, Jeremy, was just as amazing as the food. He made great recommendations and was so friendly! The atmosphere is wonderful and the restaurant is adequately staffed with people who enjoy working there. I notice things like that these days and genuinely appreciate a well-run establishment. The manager was visiting tables to ensure everyone’s experience was up to par. Keep the bar high Pappa’s team! You are awesome! We will definitely be back when we visit Houston again.
This is my go to restaurant for amazing seafood. Trouble is I can’t get past ordering the fried shrimp. There’s no equal to the delicious crisp, crunchy party in your mouth. Pappas is always too noisy because it’s crowded I wish it were a bit quieter but oh well. Yum. I wish I were going tonight.
The atmosphere was very pleasant. The wait staff was very attentive. I ordered grilled catfish and shrimp with a loaded bake potato. Food was very good. The food was fresh and hor.
Food was good and fresh! Service was great, thanks to our waitress Erykah! It was my birthday and she made it extra special! Thanks Erykah! I don't if it was because it was around noon but everything was great and super fast service. I hadn't been to this location or to Pappa's Seafood in a long time bit this trip makes me want to go back very soon! I ordered a combo meal from the lunch menu which is way more than enough food and a whole lot cheaper! Of course, after filling up in bread and ice tea I ended up taking my food home! Oh yeah, a slice of key lime pie, compliments of Pappa's for my birthday! Its delicious...you must try it!!
We visited during the “after church” rush. We were seated immediately; our server (Celeste) was friendly and quick. Our food even came out within 10 minutes of ordering! I’ve visited the Papadeuxs location in the city; I will definitely come here going forward (free parking and faster service). Thanks for your service!!!
I reserved a table here online for Mother’s Day to avoid any wait time and when My family and I got there we were seated very quickly we received a very good waiter who stayed on top of taking care of us and all the surrounding tables! All of our food was extremely fresh and served hot we also got delicious suggestions from our waiter that we went with such as the spicy catfish with shrimp étouffée. I personally got a Jumbo Lump crab cake , fried fish and a loaded baked potato and ended the night with an amazing strawberry cheesecake!
The wait times here get crazy so if you're looking for a quick meal do not go at busy times. The food is delicious but also pretty pricey for a Pappas restaurant. Keep in mind it is freshly caught seafood so that is why. People from all over Houston go here so if you're lucky you might get to see a local legend. Parking can get tight but they have a security guy driving around so your stuff is safe.
What an outstanding dinner experience. Very welcoming atmosphere. As soon as we were seated, our server, Robert, arrived. He offered suggestions for a cocktail and I tried the Garden of Eden. So refreshing & tasty. Bread was served & and warm crusty bread was good. We had the mixed grill and my husband kept saying Outstanding. And totally agree. Seafood cooked perfectly. Rice topped with a jambalaya sauce consisting of sausage in tomato/pepper sauce. Their key lime pie is one of the best I've eaten. Robert was a very attentive, personable server. Such an asset to this restaurant.
Wanted fried shrimp for lunch and headed out to find some. I ordered fried shrimp and catfish with a baked potato and coleslaw. Shrimp and catfish along with the sides was delicious. Wasn't no small baked potato that you could finish in two bites that other seafood restaurants offer. Atmosphere was good, a little loud but all good. Service was on point and the price, I feel was inline with what I had. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu
PAPPAS, PAPPAS, PAPPAS❣️.. If you have a spare $20 and don’t mine eating here at lunch and drink some water $20 will get it eating the $17.95 LUNCH SPECIAL. Otherwise you’re going to need more than $20 to eat and drink at this establishment. Believe me it’s worth every penny. I’m on a budget and I ate there at lunch for $40 on the special I added 1/2 pound of shrimp. And the bartender made me a $10 House Margarita that’s not on the menu otherwise $12 and up for mixed drinks and they’re beautiful. . They have food & drinks that’s not on the menu you have to inquire. I was full and took my shrimp home for dinner not bad for $40. PAPPAS don’t do commercial bacon bits but big chunks of bacon glazed with taste like honey. The bacon chunks are homemade plus the margarita mix, shrimp sauce, croutons are all homemade and DELICIOUS. Outdoor dining is available 💯💯. Military Discount
Always an amazing here. Food on point and don't get me started on the DRINKS!!!! Stuff shrimp and a loaded bake potato paired with The Swamp thing my absolute favorite. Or the chicken tenderloins and shrimp is another go to meal. I will say the pasta to me was a negative barf.
First time visiting Pappas while in Humble. Friday night was busy but our wait was still less than 10 minutes. We ate at the bar where our bartender Evelyn, was friendly and very attentive. I have no words for how delicious the food is!! Ceasar salad was amazing, and we got a free cheesecake for being first time diners...that was also delicious. Clean, good prices and excellent food and service
My goodness! Traveling through South Texas and went to Pappas for dinner. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. Beers were cold and refreshing. Pappas does a lot of things right and most notably is their fish! Both selections were out of this world. Highly recommended and would absolutely dine there again...and again.
Came here with a friend during lunch because we both wanted seafood and we were not disappointed. We did not have to wait for a table and the customer service was consistent and efficient. I ordered the house salad with ranch to start and the salad was delicious. It was fresh and came out right away. For my entree, I ordered the fried catfish combo which included the catfish, shrimp, and chicken tenders. This also came with fries and coleslaw. The items were fried perfectly and was crunchy. I definitely had enough leftover to take home with me! I had a good experience here and will return.
Just another outstanding experience. We have a yearly birthday celebration here and everything was perfect again. From the food to the service. A special thank you to our waitress, Deaysia. She went above and beyond and was excellent.
First time here and it won't be the last. My sister and I were in the area shopping and decided to have lunch and it was worth the wait! Cesar was an amazing server. The drinks were excellent and the food was superb! It was well worth the money we spent. We had the friend Zucchini and I'd come back just for that. I had the Grouper and my sister had the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas and we shared strawberry cheesecake for dessert, we left happy and full! We will definitely be back abd maybe we'll bring the husband's! LOL
Tried Pappa Seafood House for dinner. It was divine! Got the grouper with lump crab and the sampler platter. Both were delicious! Friendly service, not a long wait at all to get seated and food. 10/10 recommend!
One of my favorite seafood restaurants, and it was a very, very busy night (due to another location temporarily closed for renovations) but stayed to wait for a seat at the bar for quicker service. It's always a pleasant time having lunch or dinner at Pappas Seafood House.
My first time at Pappas Seafood House and I had a great experience. The fried catfish fillet tasted really fresh and the oysters as well. The bread is very crispy and the butter is very creamy. It’s a little pricey for me BUT the food is very worthy and delicious.
I am never disappointed with Papa’s seafood house. Oh my gosh, always so delicious.. The server could’ve been better. He was a bit abrupt..
Food is always delicious! They give complimentary bread so don’t fill up on the table crackers. Service is always great. They gave us a free dessert for my birthday.
Absolutely worth a visit! The staff were super attentive and professional. Our waiter Chris was the perfect combination of understanding what we wanted and suggesting what we didnt even know we wanted 😁 The atmosphere was great and the food, excellent!
Our flight got delayed and we were craving some good local seafood! We decided to try out Pappas because of the reviews. Alex was our server and was the most helpful from the minute we walked in. The food was top notch along with the service! I will definitely be back and highly recommend!!
Yesterday, we received the best customer service I've experienced in a while. The manager, Shelby, accommodated us in advance with a semi-private, comfortable area for my sister, who uses a wheelchair. Our waiter was pleasant, and the restaurant generously provided us with dessert on the house, a gesture that meant so much to us. This was my sister's first outing since her accident; she used to work for this restaurant chain and loves the food. Thank you for your generosity and the good food
Great experience at Pappas Seafood House! We had Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and Crisp Calamari & Octopus for appetizer, and Wild-Caught Grouper & Jumbo Crab and American Red Snapper & Jumbo Crab for entrée. Each dish was beautifully made and delicious. And the service was excellent. We will definitely come back.
Great food and atmosphere and lobster was delicious. The service was excellent. Seated promptly while larger parties waited. The catered to us, did not ask for refills, they were busy but we did not wait for appetizers, salad or main course. We were able to view the lobster before it was cooked. Overall great experience.
Pappas seafood House is a local institution. No matter what part of the Houston area you go if you see a “Pappas” of any sort you know you’re gonna get fine dining. The problem with Pappas and it’s always been a challenge is enjoying a good plate of food but knowing the bill is gonna be through the roof. So it’s not the every week take the family out to dinner kind of place. It’s more for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or winning the lottery kind of place. Case in point, my party of three enjoyed two cocktails and one glass of middle of the pack white wine. The bill for the alcohol only was $41. Here’s a tip: if all you want is fried shrimp or catfish sitting on a bed of french fries then go somewhere else where you can get that particular dish expertly prepared at half the price. The great calling card for Pappas seafood in my opinion is the grilled fish and seafood. They do it like no other local restaurant. Again if you want great food, great service in a comfortable environment and have one of those high balance credit cards enjoy.
Great place in the Humble area to get seafood! We've been here 5 years ago and the memories weren't that good with this place compare to others around. This time the food and service got a lot better then we remembered. We ordered the po boy with gumbo and Lafayette and both came out perfect and great taste. I really missed the sea bass I had years ago but I guess they removed it from the menu due to seasonal supply. We will definitely come back for more in the future. Highly recommended to all.
I went for weekend lunch and I'm pleased their lunch menu is available with good price and selections. I had the stuffed crab fried combo and it's really yummy, the crab is a good size and full of crabmeat inside. Also I'm able to switch fries to something else so it's not all fried food. The service is good and I love the tables along the window with greens outside.
I've been going to this Pappas seafood location since the early 90's. And to be honest, the food hasn't changed in nearly 30 years!! Which in this case is a really good thing Their selection of gulf coast favorites is vast and all are delicious. My personal favorite has to be the fried shrimp It's always seasoned well and fried just right and the batter is light and golden brown. The portion sizes at this place are gigantic Highly recommend this restaurant
Service was fine, I guess. He was personable in the beginning then disappeared after we got our food. Very glad the food was good as usual because had there been a problem or need no one would have known or cared. Only once in many years has there been a problem and MGMT went above and beyond to make things right.
Visited Pappas a few days ago with friends and their kids. Got there at 430 for an early dinnee and there was a 15 minute wait. The place was busy in the early afternoon. I suspect this place is busy all day long. 5 of us got seated, 3 adults and 2 little kids. They set the table for 3 chairs and 1 high chair. Seemed a bit disorganized. There were no silveware on the table we had to eat the calamari with our hands for about 5 minutes before our waitress came back around. We ordered calamari and fried crab fingers for apps. Fried really well and breading had good flavor. The seafood gumbo was really good. It was flavorful and seafood pretty fresh. Nice and spicy. The main dish seafood deluxe consisted of fried shrimp, oysters, fish, scallops, stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab over a bed of french fries. Fries were fried well too. Overall the food was delicious, but a bit on the expensive side. Bit too expensive. Still, would highly recommend.
The food was good, the drinks, not so much. Takes a long time and they are always a bit short. It’s busy. Will be back in about 4 - 6 months. Seafood was good.
Food was tasted just fine , service was very good. Sorry I forgot the waiters name 🤦. I had "shrimp and Cajun chicken". But $20+ and only received 3 small shrimp. Don't see going back anytime in the near future. Last visit here was over 25 years ago.
Good food and service. Went with a group and ordered many items that were shared. I have to give them props on their bread, might be the best in the game because they serve it warm, with warm plates and soft whipped butter!! Say what?!! Yes!! The food was delicious. We had everything from the crawfish etouffee, fried platter with catfish, shrimp, oysters, softshell crab, scallops, soft buttered potatoes, salmon, grilled blackened catfish. We went all out also ordered dessert. Pretty good. I'd recommend the key line pie over the cheesecake 🙂. If you're a seafood lover this is your place to go! They also offer a full bar, seating for a medium size party. Parking was cool and lots of it.
We were told to go to a Pappas on our recent trip to Houston! It did not disappoint! Food was great and service was awesome! A little expensive but the food was delicious!
We tried something different this time. My daughter got the red snapper, and I got the grouper for the appetizer. We had the brie with the lump crab. It was fantastic. The only thing Was that the side dishes weren’t as great this time I got their new pasta wasn’t very flavorful and my daughter got the fries. First time they came. They weren’t very hot or fresh but they did send out a new order.
Our server, Kennedy, failed to introduce herself or even ask if we were ready to order. She simply approached the table and looked at us in silence. Meanwhile, we watched her interact warmly with the two tables next to us, checking in frequently to see if they needed anything. It was incredibly uncomfortable to be ignored while seeing her provide attentive service to everyone else; it felt like the most prejudiced service we’ve encountered in all our time dining out. The last time we experienced this type of treatment was at Razoo’s in Sugarland, where we felt a similar sense of bias and ended up walking out before even ordering. It gave us the distinct impression that we were the 'wrong color' for both establishments. After about 15 minutes, our food was brought out by a different waitress, Michelle, as we weren't sure where Kennedy had gone. To the kitchen’s credit, the food was absolutely delicious. Once the other two tables near us left, Kennedy suddenly decided to be more attentive to us. During the meal, my husband and I discussed why she might have behaved that way. We wondered if she was having a bad day or perhaps making unfair assumptions about us. Ultimately, we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt; we tipped her 20%, and she wished us a blessed day. However, we are rating the service three stars because the bias we felt made for an extremely uncomfortable evening.
First time here. We came on a Saturday late afternoon just before dinner and it was busy but we didn’t wait long to get a table. Once there it took just a minute before our waiter Brandon to come serve us. He was friendly and attentive. We both had the Mississippi catfish and shrimp etoufee with rice and a side order of asparagus. As we waited for our dinner we were brought warm bread and whipped butter! Yum 😋 the meal was delicious, absolutely delicious! We would highly recommend this place.
Packed , but Food is Mid. Catfish was bland but great crust. Buttery potatoes were decent . Stuffed crab AMAZING . Coleslaw surprisingly good , not a big fan of coleslaw , but this was good. Complimentary Bread is fresh baguette 👌 & the fried oysters I would pass on . = THIS IS ALL THE SEAFOOD PLATTER . This picture is 1/2 of the platter , we shared .
03.18.23 - Can you please raise your prices so I can receive more than 2 ounces of rice with the shrimp gumbo and more than 2.7 ounces of coleslaw with the fried shrimp. I had to cook my own rice so I could enjoy the gumbo! Thanks The staff need to understand what occurs when you place a hot bake potato with toppings on the side in the same container. There is no further explanation on this one. Just look at the photos.
Excellent service. Atmosphere is dated, dining area is carpeted, walls are marked up (maybe intentionally), windows are old and not very clean. Their shrimp on the Seafood Platter are not deveined, other than that, the food was really good. Oh, please leave the onions out of the steamed spinach, had to pick them out.
I found the food good, but not great. My wife liked hers.. Service was very good. Big complaint was that we asked to be seated at a lower table (they wanted us to sit at a bar height table)so they took us to a back dining room, no one else in there, no windows and right next to the restroom.
Sorry Guys but I guess we came on a Bad Day . First off the Batter on fish and shrimp fell off items and had no flavor or seasonings. My Osters were the size of Clams. Very Disappointed.
After this past experience I would have to give Pappas a 3/5. I’ve been here twice before and loved it but decided to go on a Monday night for my dad’s birthday. My sister called ahead and put the call on speaker where both heard and were told it’d be a 45 minute wait and they would text us once the table was ready. We then drove to Pappas and waited outside. It was 6:30 so we decided to get off and check in just in case of anything. The hosts told us that it would be another 45 minutes because it only counted if we checked in person. We didn’t know that because they never mentioned anything like that over the phone. Usually restaurants tend to let us know that over the phone. I would like to say that I talked to the manager or whoever was in charge and it kind of just seemed like we were going back and forth. I was not trying to be sat down I just wanted to talk to someone to explain the situation so it wouldn’t happen again. I know things can happen and we’re imperfect but just to prevent this mistake. I know what it’s like working in the hospitality industry because I myself worked as a F&B supervisor at a resort with different restaurants. It was just very unprofessional having to go back and forth with someone in charge. I think they should do better and communicate with the staff on what exactly information to give to customers. Still would give it three stars because I have ate here before and have had amazing food and way better customer service.
Used to love this place and eat here often with family or just everyday dinner. Went in recently and was told "3 hour wait". So today, just ordered to go. Pickup is a nightmare. Staff is inattentive and full of attitude. Could see my bag Wyeth my name on the counter and still had to wait almost 20 minutes just to pay and leave. Finally threw $100 on counter (bill was $98 and change for a crab cake - which is loaded with bits of shell, shrimp brochette, kid's meal and half a fried zucchini appetizet) and grabbed my bag myself and left. This place has gotten too expensive for the portions as well as the terrible service. Not sure when or if we'll return.
First time at this establishment. I’m huge fan of seafood. I crave a good seafood especially during lent. We dined here on a busy Friday night during lent. The place was packed and hectic. Knew there would be a wait but was looking forward to enjoying our seafood dinner. Service was just okay. Granted yes, it was busy but our server got our order wrong a few times. So much so that the manager had to apologize on his behalf. We order the Mississippi Catfish blacken with Carrots and Coleslaw. Instead we got fried catfish with just carrots. It was extremely salty. Had to drench it with lemon to tame down the saltiness. My Shrimp & Crab Tagliatelle Pasta was on point though. I’m not sure if I’d be back anytime soon.
We were in the restaurant sitting for 8 minutes and not 1 server came to bring menus, ask for a drink order or even introduce themselves to the 3 of us. While 6 servers stood close to the bar having a conversation with each other. As we were walking out one of the hostess asked what? What's wrong? So I said what was wrong. The MANAGER couldn't say anything besides studder and stumble over I....I....I....The restaurant wasn't busy and the table beside us had obviously been served to much alcohol due to the woman barley being able to hold her eyes open. This was at 3:30 in the afternoon.
I always get the calamari, but when I had to get it to go, due to work unfortunately, I was disappointed. The boxing or packaging, if you will, was not at all considered for this dish. Just a huge brown box with bit and pieces and calamari sprawled about on top of grease spots, making the dish appear all sorts of unpleasant. Better packing is needed for certain dishes if they are to be sold as take out.
Andre the manager is this picture is the example of a poor leader, while going to the restroom with my 80 year old mother on a walker. When we came back the table was cleared off. When I ask Andre the manager about what happened he walked off in my face and berated me when I left out of the restaurant. We work too hard to come to a restaurant and be treated this way! My attorney is drafting an official complaint to be sent to HQ and this letter will be shared with the Houston Chronicles! My family and I were 26 year patron's, not any more nor will my church or my employees!!
Went here for lunch and spent 192.00 and it wasn’t worth it. Ordered a Pina Colada it tasted like whole milk. My guest ordered a Swampthang to replace it and was brought a 3 wheel motion. Ordered 2 Don Julio shots they tasted like it was cut with water. Never again hadn’t been to this location in years. I don’t mind 15 dollars for shot but I want a shot not cutwater.
Jumbo gumbo is not the size it used to be !!!! It was a giant bowl to go now it’s the same price as what it used to be but now you get the amount that was a bowl it’s ridiculous. The food is good, but they are telling me the jumbo gumbo portion is the bowl portion and the bowl portion to be the cup They reduced the portions, but they did not reduce the price Then I ordered multiple meals and when I asked for additional bread, they wanna charge me for it. I don’t understand if I would’ve ordered separate meals on separate tickets and I would get the bread for each meal. The price is ridiculous there and the portions are small. I think I’m done with papa seafood
The food give me unbearable gas.... I tried to give a second chance at this location by doing a to-go order. It didn't win me over the second time around and this will be my last time going to this location. Pappas Seafood in Humble,Texas let's do better!!!! Please because after eating food I shouldn't have upbearable gas because I ate spinach from this location smh.
