The tomatoes, olives and homemade olive oil mixed perfectly with the goat cheese. This was so savory and completely delicious. 10/10 🍖 Porkchop – 20/10 🔥 I don’t even know where to start with this one. It was soooo juicy and flavorful. 🥩 Ribeye – 6.7/10 - I didn’t love this dish. I ordered mine medium but should have ordered medium rare. The flavor was lacking in comparison to everything I ate that night. 🍰 Pumpkin cheesecake w/ chipotle cherry compote – 9/10 - it was a surprisingly good dish. I wouldn’t typically order this but they brought it to the table and I’m so glad I tried it! 🥃 Whiskey cake – spiced in house – 6.5/10 - My friend really hyped up this dish and loved it. I think it was very moist and LOVED the pecans on top of the dish, but I’m personally not a fan of tasting alcohol in my food. The alcoholic content is cooked out bit I probably would have liked it better had I not tasted the actual whiskey. If you’re searching for DFW restaurants for date night, Dallas restaurants for birthdays, or just the best places to eat in Las Colinas… add this one to your list. The servers are so knowledgeable about the menu. We had Cesar and he was outstanding! Also… he was able to tell us where all of the food was sourced from for each dish which was so cool. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. I enjoyed my experience, so this is my honest review. Yes, I’m a content creator and was invited to try this place, but I always like to keep my food reviews 100% honest.
❤️LOVE this place! We live about 2 hours away so every time we have to go to DFW its a must go. We love taking our guest here! Something so different from the hum drum chains! Just look at the liquor selection! They grow. Their own herbs on site! Our waiter was amazing as per usual. Let’s talk about the monthly deviled eggs! NEVER DISAPPOINT! And the Brussels sprouts OMG! Love their martinis! Mac and Cheese is really good….but sorry I like my homemade better. 🤪 This restaurant has something for everyone! Our daughter in law was with us on this visit…first timer…and gluten free. She left completely stuffed and satisfied!! The goat cheese app is so good! I didn't get a pic of the one they served because we dove in so fast to devour it! The actual Whiskey Cake is seriously flippen delicious! Decadent….moist dark chocolate cake with whiskey undertone….. Pecan drizzle deliciousness….the whipped cream is the the best this side of my own! 💕Make this a must in your list of foodie stops!

We had a fabulous lunch at Whiskey Cake today in Irving, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. When I first stopped in, I spoke with Noah, one of the managers, to give a courtesy heads-up that a group of teachers were hoping to gather for lunch on MLK Day. As someone who worked in restaurants years ago, I knew a group of 18–20 (which eventually grew to 35+ people!) could be an imposition. Noah was incredibly gracious, thanked me for coming in personally, and immediately reassured me that it wouldn’t be a problem. As our numbers continue to grow, I went back in.And spoke with Brooklyn who also assured me it would be fine! The absolute rock star of the day was our server, Jacob—a HUGE shout-out to him! Managing a group of thirty-five people is no small task, and Jacob handled it with professionalism, warmth, and ease. He was friendly, organized, attentive, and never missed a beat. The food was fabulous, the service exceptional, and the atmosphere perfect for a long, joyful lunch filled with conversation and laughter. We stayed for nearly four hours, and as we were leaving, it meant so much to hear the General Manager say, “We would love to have you back.” Whiskey Cake made this gathering of current and retired teachers truly special. We will absolutely return—and hope to do so again as a group. MKB on MLK in 2027! Thank you, Noah, Brooklyn and Jacob, for such a wonderful experience!

What an outstanding dining experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish exceeded our expectations and made it clear that this restaurant truly cares about quality. A huge shoutout to our waiter, Cesar, who took the experience to the next level. He was attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm and welcoming. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made us feel like valued guests the entire time. It’s rare to find service this exceptional, and Cesar absolutely nailed it. Between the amazing food, great atmosphere, and top tier service, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back—and hoping Cesar is working when we do
Our server, Cameron, was amazing. On top of that the food was delicious and attention to detail was great. Cameron was very knowledgeable of the menu and he was really nice and welcoming. It always makes you want to come back when you have an amazing server and that was exactly our experience.
Came here with my friends and had a really nice time. It was my first visit, and I really enjoyed the chicken melt sandwich—it was quite tasty. The homemade potatoes were delicious as well, but my favorite was definitely the whiskey cake. It was a bit sweet, but I couldn’t resist trying it and I’m glad I did!
Great food with lots of gluten free options. Their deviled eggs are to die for! I've never had bad food or service at this place. Very well stocked bar. Fantastic ambiance for parties or just intimate lunches or dinners.
My coworker gave praise to how delicious the food was here. So, I knew I had to come and try it for myself. Well, I'm glad I did. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with an open expanse for ample seating. There is an extensive bar area with alcohol varieties too many to name. The inside was simple and clean. We met with our waiter, Jordan, who was professional and knowledgeable of the menu selections. My friend and I both ordered the chicken and waffles, with a fried green tomato for the appetizer. Once our food arrived, it was fresh and hot and smelled absolutely amazing. The fried green tomato had a crispy and buttery flavor to the outside coating. It was well seasoned and at every bite, it put a smile on my face. The waffle was fluffy and easy to cut through and the fried chicken was so tender, that I could cut through it with my fork. Whatever coating they dredged that chicken in, was spot on perfect. My friend and I enjoyed our meal so much that we talked and praised how good the food tasted and didnt realize that an hour had passed. Jordan was very attentive and always kept our Arnold Palmers filled to the rim. I must say that this restaurant prides itself on providing good service, maintaining its interactions with its guest, and keeping them happy, and serving delicious food. If in the area again, I will definitely return to Whiskey Cake and bring more friends. Good job, well done, you've earned an A+ with me.
I stopped in for dinner based upon the reviews. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Rueben for $17.99. Whiskey cake uses house made pastrami, kraut and special sauce and a local marble rye. Probably the best Rueben I have had in ten years. The meat was juicy and tender. The sandwich came with hand cut fries that were well seasoned and crisp. The fries came with a unique ketchup that I think had mustard seeds in it. I was impressed! And they have a fantastic whiskey and bourbon collection with many highly allocated and restaurant pics.
Literally had the best time here. My fiancé didn’t have a bachelor party so wanted to do something nice for him. I had asked for the couch / nice chair area and we were able to get it. Cameron was our server and literally was the best older have ever had. He was so attentive, came by to make sure all was well, and really made the experience everything. I’d come tot his location more but it’s not as close as I’d like. Overall amazing and we will be back to have more whiskey cake!!!
Holly cow ! Hello Texas !!! I'm from Florida and was in Texas for work. The boss had her birthday coming and we decided to throw her a surprise party. I got on Grok AI and it told me Whiskey Cake was in the top and it ticked all the boxes we wanted. We gave them a call and made our reservation. We had about 28 people and they managed us perfectly. The waiters and kitchen crew were outstanding, no mistakes, the food came at the same time, everything perfectly cook, full of Texas flavor. I congratulated the manager personally and the waiter too if I remembered I would have gone to the kitchen too. I've been around and it was the best experience I've ever had and as of now, the bar is set way too high for everyone else. I'm going to post this and send to my colleagues so they can also post it and we take the ratings to the top. Thank you for the food, for the space, for the time and for making mine and their experience in Texas, unforgettable. Cheers from the Sunshine State.

Good seasonal food. Friendly server. Music was very loud. What the chefs did with the salmon was amazing(mildly spicy). And the pork chop melts in your mouth. House old fashion with single barrel whiskey tasted smooth. Great experience overall.
In my mind I am blessing my brunch all over again! God knows that food and service was delicious. We had reservations for five at 11:15am, I can’t remember the young lady who waited on us BUT! She was simply amazing and even sang happy birthday to me… Keep shining over there, good food like this gets to the soul of man.
Really enjoyed this restaurant! We had the deviled eggs and candied bacon for apps which were both delicious. Had the steak and chili potatoes for a main which were both very tasty too. The blackened shrimp were a bit too salty, but not enough to take a star away from the rest of the really well prepared meal.
Will definitely return when back in the area. The food was absolutely delicious and my server was friendly and attentive. There was one small hiccup with my food order, a bun I ordered for my sandwich was not provided when the food arrived. When I mentioned it, a separate bun was brought out to replace the error. I was still charged an extra $2 for the bun, which i felt was a bit off. Had the smoked old fashioned which was great. I look forward to visiting again one day to sample some bourbon flights. This place was packed on a weekday, so I highly recommend a reservation. The whiskey cake was good, but in hindsight I wish I had eaten it at the restaurant and not ordered it to go. I think having it fresh, and the ingredients all together would have made for a better experience.

We were a party of 9 and they had no problem handling this group getting all the food out at the same time making sure we were happy and had our drinks filled at all times. Our waiter Uche was absolutely fantastic. He was on top of everything but not obtrusive in the group. Very friendly, polite, and definitely knew the menu. I would specifically ask for him as a waiter every time I come back here.
Arrived at 1:15pm and seated outside immediately. Was given a brunch menu so walked back to the front to get a lunch menu since wait staff was slow getting to table. Glasses and a bottle of cool water presented at table to share. Hanson could have used a lidded kids cup with straw, but he managed ok. Ordered chicken strips, Reuben, chili and a tavern burger. Chicken strips come out hot and crispy. Nice crunch. Fries are crispy outside and tender inside. Good seasoning. Well made Reuben sandwich with the bread presenting a perfect rye bite. Tavern burger was cooked a perfect medium as requested. Tender patty is not over compressed. Well made and flavorful burger. Have had the Whiskey cake dessert on a previous visit and it was delicious. Well known for their excellent liquor collection with a focus on whiskey. Full inventory book available on request. All whiskey served as 2oz pours.
I visited here on a business trip to Dallas and couldn't have had better service; the staff was super friendly and provided excellent service. They were also very knowledgeable about their menu. The steaks were cooked perfectly and lived up to all expectations of Texas-style steaks. The fries were even better, which is saying a lot because of how good everything else was.
Came for a business lunch around 11:30 am and was seated with no issues. The waiter took a while to come back after we were talking business and weren’t ready to order. Seemed like they almost forgot about us for a while when ordering and paying. The food was delicious though, ordered the candied bacon for the appetizer. I got the fish and chips. I was not expecting a whole fish! It was very delicious though. I did substitute the French fries for the vegetables, which was a great choice. It had a sauce to it with a few chilis which gave it a nice kick. Overall the food & atmosphere was great, but was a bit disappointed in the service especially since we were on a limited timeline since it was a business lunch.

The $15 Crispy Chicken and Spinach Salad looks like it will make me sick. The leaves are obviously rotted and the apple slices are oxidized, I can tell this salad container has just been sitting in a fridge for several days. Make sure to open your to-go containers and check to see if the food is rotted...can't believe customers are expected to do this extra verifying at a place like Whiskey Cake, but I guess it's a chain just like all the other restaurants and they start not caring about quality.
