This place is so great! I ordered the Fried Calamari. They are huge rings plus they guve you a fresh tasting Marinara dip. The beverages aren't free refills but I was okay with water anyway ❤ 🧡 the waitress was super nice. Our service wasn't rushed and it was not too packed. Will be returning for some more Calamari!!

It is not easy to find a restaurant that opens 24 hours a day these days. It is a good place to enjoy a simple meal.

The people here are all so nice. The place is cute. The food is beyond delicious nothing disappoints! And I am definitely a fussy pants. I really love their Belgian waffles. My friend likes their chicken pot pie and I love their turkey dinner with all the fixings which I get almost all the time.

A fantastic, classic Diner experience. The decor is quintessentially "Diner" and the service is excellent. My water and coffee were re-filled without my having to ask, and the staff were very friendly. Many speak English and Spanish as well, big plus. The food was exceptional - we had a French Omelette, Maryland Eggs Benedict, and Chocolate Chip Pancakes - all phenomenal. We'll be returning.

Sumptuous food and distinguished hospitality, at unbeatable value. The venue is very clean and has a homely sense to it (replacing the Mark Twain Diner, which had stood in this spot until about eight years ago) with the host greeting people on a familiar basis. The waiters are very attentive to the point of being intuitive (a glass of water “materialized” at my table no sooner than I had thought it!). There is parking around the diner — in the front and rear — for roughly twenty cars. Bathrooms, small but spotless. Free wi-fi via Optimum.

This has been my go to early morning Diner since childhood. Being that few places are open early these days Jax Inn is consistent and available. On my recent visit I got the lumberjack combo with 3 pancakes, sausages and 2 sunny side up eggs + maple syrup. My wife got the classic eggs Benedict. Both were amazing and servers constantly refreshed water, coffee and checked up on us. Jax Inn is also very affordable at under 40-50 for a couple.

The customer service is un parallel here. Very attentive host and server. The menu is vast with many options. The portions are HUGE. The price is just right for the portions of each dish. Everything tastes good here. Whether it be pasta, eggs or steak. My brother and I come here very frequently and its a must try. You will not be disappointed, but do make sure you have enough time to eat. The food is made fresh so it does take some time. Its worth the wait!

12/22/2022 was my first here at Ajax Inn Diner and by far was the best. I am not a fan of Challah french toast but seems to be what everyone in nyc is doing so it was okay- not my favorite. The bacon was good, crispy and they kept me filled up with coffee! Wife’s doctor and Mazda service center nearby so been here a number of times in the morning over the last few years. First time I got chocolate chip pancakes and I’d say they make some of the best pancakes in NYC. Fluffy, tasty, great mouthfeel. Quality and consistency over many visits. So 5 stars definitely for them and the service. Everything else is pretty good/above average diner food. Can’t go wrong eating here.

I tried several places near the LaGuardia airport. I saw Jax Inn Diner that is open 24/7 was packed and drove around for 20 mins looking for parking. Once I located a place to park. I walked two blocks, and the place was packed! Here are my observations: 1. The place was very busy, and it was apparent that there were several factors. 2. The image is of the restaurant ambassador who steers the team to excellence! He was very nice and had the service core-values. 3. I decided to sit at the corner, and I could not believe my eyes! Plates and plates of succulent food, leaving a very obvious bouquet, or better yet, fragrance! YUMMY!! 4. I wanted an omelette, then I saw potatoes, then I saw pancakes and I realized I needed to look at the menu. lol 5. The menu was full color, and I only wanted to know one thing: was the coffee good??? 6. The coffee was amazing, for a restaurant Sadly, I had eaten at, the Buccaneer Diner, which was a recommendation from the hotel. I posted a review about that restaurant on my thread. If you’re interested in knowing. 7. Please see the images of food that was delivered. The pancakes were fluffy, and the turkey sausages were amazing. They had homemade butter and maple syrup. The homemade potatoes, and eggs were great!!! It was a delightful breakfast. If you were staying at the Doubletree and or the Hampton Inn or a nearby hotel near the airport, be sure to make a beeline to Jax Inn dinner, you’ll thank me for my heartfelt recommendation.

Really nice place, seating was pretty fast, servers were nice and inviting, and the food was good. We have been eyeing this place for awhile, and living not far and passing it daily, I wish we would have stopped in sooner, we will definitely be going back. Parking is around back of you can procure a spot as this place is busy, but the wait isn't too long. Definitely recommend this spot.

GREAT diner food, very impressed! The French toast was awesome! Grilled cheese was good and the potato skins were delicious and huge! Service was great too. Went back the next morning and tried the skirt steak and eggs. I was surprised at the quality considering its diner food. The steak was very tender and a perfect medium rare. I’ve been back multiple times and have not been disappointed, The different kinds of flatbreads and the moussaka is phenomenal!

We came to Jax Inn Diner about a week ago, and arrived at a time when it wasn’t too busy (Say Tuesday around 5 PM) and the place was instantly very welcoming. The staff was very attentive and constantly checked on us which was great. Hubs had a burger and I had the fish and chips! It was sooooo good!! The fish was very fresh and the fries were crispy. Hubs made a mistake by ordering the burger well done, but that was his fault (don’t ever order something well done) overall a great place, will come back to try the rest!

This is my go-to diner of all time. Brunch was always good, although during the weekend I believe they take orders out quickly n rush them. I am from Texas, Visiting NY. The food was good, the serving sizes I thought were large. The service was not fast, but not so slow that it was a problem. The other plus is this restaurant does have it's own parking lot, so that is good. The only negative was that our booth (by the window) had 2 dead flies trapped in the wood blinds. Maybe these should be taken care of? Glad I saw them at the end of my meal and not at the beginning.

Came here after bowling. On a Sunday. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, which was bland (no mayo, salt), but ok, in general. My lady got the matzo soup (tasty, no complaints) and a very ordinary grilled cheese. The problem was...a friend ordered the “TBLT” which we all thought was turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato, but ended up being turkeybacon, lettuce, tomato. Yuck.

Typical neighborhood diners in busy East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights and Northern Boulevard area with parking in the rear and few in front of the restaurant. Large portions food served, so as usual, some will be wrapped for taking home!

Jax serves typical diner food and has a welcoming family atmosphere. During my visit I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was unfortunately under seasoned and tasted bland. The waffle on a similar note was overcooked and dry. I also found the food to be a bit expensive for what it was. The service was good and our server was attentive. If I were to visit again I would stick to diner classics such as breakfast food.

This a Diner, all the typical Diner foods are well done here. The service is always great, even during peak hours. The one thing that should be improved and can be done easily are the BATHROOMS, they are completely and utterly DISGUSTING. graffiti and markers stickers everywhere, it smells worse than bathrooms in the subways of New York City.

My omelet was cooked so dry as to be practically inedible. My friend enjoyed her salad however and as I said the wait staff was amazing. I came at 10a.m. on a Friday morning. The atmosphere is very cozy. The diner is handicap accessible so I easily got to the door with my walker in tow. I was seated immediately. The servers were on top of it, and very friendly. Checking on me every so often to make sure I was OK. I ordered a sweet tea and carnitas they were about $16 for three. The meat was dry and under seasoned. The lime wedges didn't help much. I'll definitely order something else when I come back to give it another shot. Would recommend the diner, just not the tacos I ordered.

Love diners and the allday menu. This diner is decent. It's appearing that it isn't as well maintained as it should be. The entrance wasn't swept when we went. It included a stained mask and other light debris. The interior is bright though the seating looks like wear and tear leather. Not able to be cleaned or maybe not properly cleaned. The food was good depending on what we ordered. The octopus had a great presentation. It tasted quite like trimethylamine or that fishy flavor. Maybe it wasn't soaked as it was also a bit too chewy for me but my friend enjoyed it. The blackened chicken was enjoyed and it's a big salad. Don't know why the side of bread wasn't included, maybe an oversight. The pancakes were deliciously soft and not gummy or chewy. The corned beef hash wasn't thrilling but okay. The sausage is thick juicy and had a nice flavor. The server and the runner were really nice guys and accomodating. I hope the manager reads the reviews good and bad. Such a popular neighborhood Diner and diners are accommodating due to forced closures. For those who love diners I hope management accepts the compliments and also knows how to make some minor improvements in this current environment.

I used to love this diner so much but the quality has been off since Covid, for starters we ordered BUFFALO wings and got sent regular wings LOL and I ordered chicken and waffles they just just put chicken strips and waffle plus the chicken is soooo bland lacks favor the best thing was the waffle! Was there during midnight with group of 4, it was relatively empty, but we were made to wait atleast 15mins+ before a server came to take our orders, I personally requested for server atleast 3 times to a busser. Been coming here for a few years already & food is great. But today I found a hair in my food & I will no longer be returning back. I'm disgusted and nauseous. I was still charged for a glass of OJ & side of sausage which I left after I found the hair. Never again !

Price is outrageous for what I received. I got chocolate chip banana pancakes, and initially I was worried about how thick they were and my worry was justified. My pancakes were completely raw on the inside. I cut a piece and bit into pure soup. All three pancakes were like this. Word of advice: the edges are your only salvation. 😓

First off, I should have wrote this review a long time ago but kept giving this place more chances. Tonight is the LAST time I order from this place. Just a quick overview of my order tonight a lasagna that was as flat as a pancake, a Philly cheesesteak with barely any meat, sloppy largely cut vegetables (also missing the main vegetable on a Philly cheese steak...onions! How do you make a Philly cheese steak without onions), and American cheese or cheese whiz. Also found a metal wire and piece of plastic in my order of tiramisu cake. This place used to be better 5 years ago, idk who’s cutting the budget on cooking staff but the quality of food has declined so much that I would rather order a burger from Wendy’s or White Castle than order anything off the menu for this diner...

Very cheap quality food. Ordered for takeout and got the stalest toast I've ever had. Requested eggs scrambled and it came over medium. $17 for ground chicken, a couple eggs prepared wrong, and stale clearance bread. A little bit of seasoning might've made it all bearable but it barely had any. Not sure how this diner has over 4 stars

VERY BAD AND DISAPPOINTING!! Both cakes were flavorless… we tried sprinkling some of our own cocoa powder to maybe improve it. But dang the cakes was so bad it overpowered the cocoa powder. :( i dont know if i can ever have dessert at JaxInn after this…

Terrible experience! we decided to give it a try after a couple years of not coming back and have to say terrible choice and waste of time. We were immediately denied service for bringing our small service dog with us this time. Not gonna lie food isn’t even good anyways it’s just slapped on a plate. Never coming back ever again.

So I ordered through DoorDash. One was COUNTRY APPLE PIE and another was BANANA CREAM PIE delivery was on time but the food quality was not good very poor. It taste like rotten food.Previously I have tasted this same food but now and then there is a huge difference I don’t know what happened. But guys please check before you give food to anyone else. I have to throw the whole food.

I just left Jax inn diner and I will never step in again. I ordered a veggie burger, lettuce tomato. What could go wrong right? Everything. I paid $20 dollar and I left without food. They have no idea about Diner business.

This is a bacon egg and cheese and they charge $8 for it. I’ve had better from a street vendor at a construction site. Very disappointing

The matzo ball soup which you are charged almost $10 for, is two Motzo Balls with no taste and it's sitting in broth that tastes like water, no flavor, has absolutely no taste whatsoever. I'm wondering if the cooks even taste the food that they make. On one trip I made there, it was a sunday, the soup was absolutely delicious. Must have been a different cook because every time after, hoping I would get the other cook, it was the same... flavorkess water.. This Diner needs to do some kind of quality control or taste control on their food. Never again.

I’ve been regularly asking for a simple delivery that is usually around 38$ plus tips that I don’t mind paying even though they are close to where I live but even though is pricey I would still order. Today my delivery wasn’t done as I wanted I asked for penne à la vodka and received fettuccini with Alfredo sauce, in allergic to certain ingredients in this sauce, I gave it to my brother and he just told me the pasta is tasteless that the other one was better and on top of that since I usually have no soup nor salad I get extra bread which I asked for and didn’t receive I’m tired and I just came from work You should pay more attention when taking an order instead of keeping me waiting in the background I didn’t take this order blablabla like I appreciate the honesty but still is like bro you just say I didn’t even pay attention to the order I just packed and sent it, what you get paid for anyways? This is my last time ordering. I guess I’ll be back to cooking :)

There was a hair in the soup. It was cold outside and we came for soup. We ordered 3 bowls and 1 had hair. I told the server. She had a blank stare so I told her to give a different flavor soup. The one with the hair got replaced, when there was a possibility the soup pot had the hair. Anyways, when it was time to pay, she charged for the bowl of soup with the hair. I mentioned it again, there was a hair in one of them. With the same blank stare, proceeds to say “well I replaced it with another bowl.” No apology, no gesture to make things right. Welp, the diner lost a group of customers. she looked like she needed the money so I left her a 15% tip. We won’t be coming here again, so I hope she enjoys the tip and hairy soup. Ew

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE — PLEASE READ I came here with a few friends on Sunday afternoon, and the experience was terrible from start to finish. We waited a very long time just for someone to take our order. When the waiter finally came, he took my friend’s order first because we weren’t ready and said he would come back for ours. More than 30 minutes passed, and he never returned. We had to get another staff member’s attention. A different waitress eventually took our order. When the food came out, the friend who ordered first still didn’t receive his food, while those of us who ordered later did. When we asked what happened, we were told the waiter forgot to put in his order, which was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. When I tried my burger, it tasted weird, dry, and overcooked. The fries were burnt and cold. I couldn’t eat at all. My husband’s burger was also burnt, even though he specifically asked for medium—there was no juice at all. A few days later, both my husband and I got food poisoning. It can take 1–3 days for symptoms to appear, and we experienced vomiting, diarrhea, body pain, and chills. We went to the doctor, and they confirmed it was food poisoning due to food contamination. We will never return to this place again. Please be aware and alert before eating here.

Wanted local diner vibes? Cool. Decent diner food. Cool. Come back into the car after eating a lot of food…letting the food you just indulged in settle…NOT COOL. Why? Owner will come out and say you parked your car here illegally and it’s for customers. Completely understandable if you saw me illegally park here and go off somewhere else. Tow it.
