An outstanding home-cooking place to dine. I've reviewed this restaurant in the past and it's still one of my favorites when in the area. I'm kind of glad they aren't that close to me because this fat boy would be there even more.
Had Beef tips and Rice great food
Looked for a place for dinner on a Tuesday night and tired of fast food. The moment I walked in the door, the staff was very friendly. The buffet was wonderful, especially since I am limited to what I could eat due to recent dental work. All the veggies were great. And o my the pies they are great... go visit it will be a treat. I will be back....😊
They have a large menu. If I rate them only by the things I have liked, then I have to give them 5 stars. They have some of the best 'chicken fried' batter. This means the chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, and the sandwiches to match, plus the buffalo bites, and chicken strips or anything similar are just amazing. That chicken paired with their thick homemade mash potatoes is just unreal. I eat here multiple times a week and I have been extremely satisfied. No one has a better chicken strip dinner around and it's priced better than fast food.
The tacos I got were very good. I also recommend the charro beans! The green seranno sauce that comes with the street taco was very good and spicy!
It was delicious! I had the Trailblazer with squash casserole and black eyed peas and it was hot and yummy. Hubs had the daily special which was chicken spaghetti and said it was some of the best he's ever eaten. We topped off our meals with some scrumptious pie 🥧. I had chocolate meringue and he had pumpkin. Everything was great and the service was friendly, courteous and quick. We'll visit again next time we're in town.
Everything was excellent this visit. Cornbread and rolls were deliciously fresh, and my meal was spot on what I expected. Chicken Parmesan with noodles and Mac n cheese. Half sweet, half unsweet tea had just the right amount of sweetness to it. Thank you
Amazing fresh food choices. Hard to choose. Our waiter, Harrison, is the best! Chicken pot pie and chicken fried chicken were delicious and the sides were too. Loved the baby carrots. Highly recommend!!!
You will get more than you pay for in every category. Portions are huge, the wait staff was exceptional and the food was outstanding. Well done. I had the Patty melt and my wife had the meatloaf and yes it is something to write home about.
We ate here 2 different times and the food was so good. I highly recommend it.
My husband and I just moved here to Jasper and we decided to go and get some lunch at around 3:30 ish. Food was good. My child also had a kids meal and while he’s a year old he’s a picky eater, he loved his meal too. Definitely will come back, should also mention we had food at this establishment once back in July and so this time was our second time here. Definitely am very pleased with the service and food. Restaurant also was a little busy while we were there both times but it was still very very quiet. Again as I stated we will definitely come back.
We love this place! People are friendly and food is fantastic! Service is great and prices are very reasonable. The catfish is my favorite. It is always cooked just right with generous portions. We have tried several things and have loved everything. Highly recommend this place! Update: it's been awhile since we've been here. Food is still great. My daughter and I ordered chicken fried steak and it was excellent!!! Mashed potatoes were real! Yum!!!! Okra was good too.
Food was very good and affordable, dessert(Texas brownie) was bigger than expected but was all good quality and tasty. We all enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was very good and offered suggestions. We had the Chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak and chicken fried salad. Meals for 3 with drinks plus dessert for a little more than $50. They have less expensive alternatives as well. All very good.
Loved the atmosphere. The waitress was so sweet. They had the best mashed potatoes that we have ever had anywhere. The chicken fried steak and the chicken and dumplings were great! My baby loved the rolls and corn bread. Definitely coming back again for the mashed potatoes!
Fantastic food and great price.
We always enjoy eating there when we come to Jasper, Tx.
We were traveling in the area and stopped in for an early dinner. The staff and service were excellent, checking on us throughout. The food was so good, quite like one would make at home. Our dinners were served quickly and hot which made it even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the catfish and my cousin said the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We will definitely go back on the next trip to East Texas!
My parents have been here before. The food is good. The server checked on the table regularly. The ambience is nice.
We are visiting from out of town. It was the quickest service and the best hot food we have had in years ! The chicken fried steak was tender and had awesome flavor. Cornbread and rolls, too ! Very attentive staff. The manager walked to every table and asked how everyone was doing and if there was anything they needed. We are definitely going back !
after a brief search on google on our way back from silsbee , we decided to try this cafe out for dinner. so glad we did . this is an absolute gem in this tiny cute town of jasper. food , service , the ambiance ; everything is awesome. reasonably priced , big and satisfying portions. i ordered 3 pieces catfish and wife had chicken fried steak... delicious food and friendly employees ... strongly recommend it...
Great food at great prices with good service. Everything seems to be made from scratch to order. Never had a bad experience here.
First time there. Wish they were closer to me. Couldn’t decide what to get so I got the chicken and dressing, AMAZING, meatloaf, a little different from what I’m used to but I had great flavors, the pot roast was out of this world. The cornbread was so heavy and moist to me almost like dessert without being too sweet. I don’t care much for the macaroni and cheese but everything else was spot on. If you want homemade, this is your place
Great service! I had the chicken fried steak dinner and it was the best. Perfect broccoli and mashed potatoes. Fried catfish top notch. Chicken and dumplings were awesome.
This lil local gem is one of our favorite places to eat. If you like home cooking, filling portions, great pricing , and friendly people then this is a place you need to visit. We stop in every year on our way to and from Texas RenFest. This year I got a special treat..... my main squeeze drove me all the way to Jasper TX just to eat at Elijah's for my birthday! We live in the central area of Louisiana and it was well worth the drive.
Nice place to eat. Service was good and the food was great.
Excellent service and I loved the attitude of that boy Jace Potgieter, he was such a good waiter, he should receive a payment raise, he was such a nice kid
We have been eating here every Sunday for almost 2 months and have not been disappointed. We are only here for hunting season so this is the place we hit up before heading home on Sunday. When we bring our kids with us, this is what they want. The staff has always been friendly and prompt. What we have tried and loved: chicken & dressing special, chicken fried steak, club sandwich and fries, chicken and dumplings, catfish, mashed potatoes, fried okra, salad, Philly, peach cobbler. Things we tried that weren’t our favorite: patty melt and chicken tenders. Both could have used more seasoning in my opinion. We will continue to come here every time we’re in Jasper.
Ate at Elijah's both times during a 2 night stay next door. Servers were very friendly and speedy and the food was absolutely delicious. Catfish and Shrimp the first night, Chopped Steak(Salisbury steak) and Brown gravy the second. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.
Oasis! That's the nickname I gave this place. In a town with very, very few options aside from the usual food chain fast food and fried chicken mom and pops, this restaurant offers a clean and delicious variety of meals, coffee and free homemade buns. No breakfast, and that’s a shame, but the buns, fresh coffee, the burgers and great atmosphere makes up for it. Many other culinary options will make you smile, definitely a town's favorite.
I was staying at the motel next door and Elijah’s was recommended to me to try, and I am so glad I followed up on that recommendation. The food was excellent it’s been a long time since I had such an amazing chicken fried steak. I had green beans, and black eyed peas as my sides. I also tried the fried pickles and they were delicious! Reminded me of my favorite catfish restaurant back home. I’ll be in Jasper for the next few weekends and I’ll definitely be back to try something new!
It's a good place really, First of all for a place like this it's great even tho it looks like a normal time outside it's a good place inside if not better. It's like finding a hidden gem, every employee was great and they were really chill The foods good too you should try it
Very warm atmosphere, friendly and helpful service. Delicious food made to order, great dessert options. Clean environment always!
Whenever I am in the are I always like to eat at Elijahs. The food is great. My favorite is the chicken and dumplings. But order confidently bc it will all taste like it came out of a southern grandma's kitchen.
Great customer service, got pot pie meal and salsa and chips, all food was hot and didn't have to wait long. The hostess was nice and very professional, every time I eat in Jasper for a st down meal I go there. Great Job Elijah's
Best restaurant in Jasper! Great staff and really great food! We are trying everything on the menu and telling everyone how great it is. Thank you to all the wonderful staff taking care of us while staying in the area. We are the metal straw couple from Iowa/Minnesota and we drink two diet Cokes before enjoying our delicious meal.
Was good. Server was friendly and prompt. Food was good. Large chicken fried steak was large! The baked potatoes were great! Didn't care for the area in which we were seated, but wasn't bad enough to ruin the experience. The rolls were okay, they seemed a little... old maybe? Will most likely return, because the baked potatoes were really really good. Even if that sounds weird.
Beef tips and rice was fabulous. But I went through the drive through and they not reading or paying attention gave my large order to another customer. Who had a small 2 plate order. Then had to wait for the customer to bring it back. Will hold off going back for a while.
The wife and I both ordered the pot roast and it was very good. For our sides we got carrots and mashed potatoes which were very good as well. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the waitress didn't come around very much. I'd come back if I'm ever in Jasper again.
The food is good but if you have Gastritis problems this is not for you. I ordered Meatloaf with Broccoli American cheese n rice/ beans on the sides and the two side orders have too much black pepper. Other than that the place is good.
Went there to eat dome lunch. My wife got 10 oz ribeye with baked potato, broccoli, and chips. She cleaned her plate. I had the 3 piece fried catfish with tartar sauce, hushpuppies, French fries, and 2 helpings of cinnamon apples. All gone. The food was really good, the waitress was very courteous and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxing.
One of our regular, Jasper doesn't offer much But it is decent
It's great to the family most days. I had the chicken pot pie. Nothing special. Nice flakey crust. The inside wasn't too good. The sides are plentiful! Server's are very kind! Specials are nightly. The manager was nice enough to remove the pot pie. We frequent the location. The food is hit or miss, but they are fast and friendly!
Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy were good. Squash casserole has no flavor. Chocolate pie tasted like a frozen whip cream pie.
I ordered take out on Wednesday 07/15/2020 @ 7:00pm. The parking lot and dinning room were empty. I waited about 5 minutes before being greeted. Front hostess area was clean. I ordered the chicken fried steak, vegetables, mashed potatoes and coconut cream pie. It was an average tasting meal. The steak was a bit tough. The plasticware is very flimsy and bent with the lightest of pressure.(things you don't notice till your traveling). Potatoes were excellent and the vegetables needed a lil love. The yeast rolls were tasty. The coconut pie was worth the try. The customer service by Jersey (young lady that took my order) was warm and friendly. I think a dine in visit would be much better food experience.
Unfortunately I can’t give a good review. A reason for that is that the menu said there was Swiss cheese on the chicken. There was not Swiss cheese on the chicken. It was fake cheese. Everyone was nice there, so I can’t complain hard.
We have eaten here a few times before and enjoyed the food. We stopped here today for lunch after shopping and we were very disappointed. We both ordered the patty melt. It was over cooked and very dry, but the onion rings were very good. We will probably go there again but will not order the patty melt.
Ordered the large grilled chicken ceasar salad, I wold call it a medium sized salad, just served on a dinner plate. The chicken was pretty good, not dryed out, the lettuce seemed old and pretty wilted, a few dark green ( should have thrown in the trash) pieces, also lettuce was warm. I have eaten her several times when working in the area, is what it is. The waitstaff is great, attentive and friendly.
The food was ok, but not as great as we expected. Baked chicken was dry, overcooked, the dressing was good. The chicken fried chicken was good but no flavor without the gravy, the steamed vegetables were returned because they were old & cold, the replaced steamed vegetables were fresh & hot. The fried fish was good & hot, but had to wait for the side order of gravy I requested for the potatoes, the food was under temperature when it was delivered to our table. We ordered 3 peach cobbler but they only had 1 order left. This is a holiday weekend they should have prepared better. I think that Elijah's Cafe in Kirbyville was better. I won't go back to this location.
The food was delicious but our service was awful. We had Chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, kids baskets, burgers, 3 different kinds of dessert. The mashed potatoes were served cold but good. Cleared our own table of excess dishes. Waitress dropped plate of juicy green beans on my son and didnt bring back napkins or apologize. No refills, and lack of concern for our table. We will return, but hope for better service in the future.
We had a large group of people and waited for 45 minutes to be seated. The waitress kept forgetting our dinner rolls. The food was nothing special on my part. Had a chicken salad and the chicken needed to be seasoned it was bland. Over all everyone else seemed to like it.
Service was very good. Time between courses was good. However, the fish and shrimp dinner was way overcooked. Chicken fried steak had a very weird taste and smell. It appeared that the entrees were battered several times to where the actual food was hard to get to, as stated overcooked. It was our first time visiting an Elijah's Cafe and will probably be our last time. I still left a sizable tip as the waitress was very good.
I ordered the lunch special to go. It was chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and squash casserole. I went straight to work. When I opened it it was room temperature. The chicken was dried out. The squash was good once I heated it up. I wasn't told about it coming with spaghetti noodles. But they were cold and bland. I hadn't eaten there in a couple of years and probably won't go back. For $9 I at least expected hot fresh food.
Got a to go order. Should have checked it before I left. I ordered chicken strips, mashed potatoes and pinto beans. Food wasn't bad but would have been better if I had gravy on the potatoes at least. Other order was grilled fish, broccoli and pinto beans. Fish was very small compared to what we normally get and hardly had any beans and broccoli. Tried to call and talked to mgr and I held so long my phone disconnected. Normally very happy with this place very disappointed tonight.
Everything was middle of the road. Food was okay, not great, not bad either. Buffalo chicken wings & Buffalo chicken sandwich, were spicy but you can tell they use just Frank’s Red Hot sauce. Tasted like they just poured it straight out of the bottle. Nothing amplifying what you can do with a quick trip to the grocery store, and a few minutes at home. My wife's fish plate, was about the same. Slightly overcooked, and tasted like the fish seasonings you get at a regular grocery store. Nothing that amplifies it, or knocks in the ground.. french fries were good, but tasted about much like a grocery store bag and got fried. Nothing in the seasoning, made it amplified. Like I said very middle of the road. Not bad, but definitely not anything making it stand out to run away from, or go back to. This is the kind of place that a few years later you're passing through town, and you'll eat it again because you've literally forgotten if it's good or not. My restaurant interpretation of the 5🌟 rating system (feel free to use): 1🌟 = DUMP…. NEVER AGAIN I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FREE (wish there was a no star option). The food you would feed a prisoner, only if you didn’t like them. 2🌟 = Crap, fast food...... Only for If you are in a hurry, tight on $, and/or in a rush. (Think big chain places with $1 menu, not HORRIABLE, and sometimes a decent food comes out). 3🌟 = Okay, worth going on a regular, but has room to improve (Think frequent work lunch spot, Rarely less than Okay, usually Good to really good food) 4🌟 = Very good, favorite "common" places. Nothing EXCEPTIONAL. (Think casual date, Nicer Chain restaurants usually, occasional surprisingly good Fast food) 5🌟 = Reserved for EXTREMELY high quality and/or Exceptional, and Places that surprise me. (Think first date to impress, anniversary, special occasion) GREAT flavor, great food, ambiance, service, etc... I started using this because I don't like seeing standard restaurants with 5🌟. If I see 5🌟 I expect more than standard.
Food tasted good. Side Portions a little on the small side. They were out of bread rolls but when a group of 6 came in a half an hour before closing the waitress said she had found some for us....
Catfish was PERFECT! Ribeye was really under-seasoned though, and over cooked. And this could just be from being out of state, but the water tasted like it came straight out the lake.
Really savory meat tips over rice. Smaller side portions that I wished were bigger. Lots of people, so seats were limited for lunch. Our waiter was was responsive and listened to refund request. The Caesar salad I ordered was served with a very little drizzle of Italian dressing not Caesar. The chicken was so over cooked it wasn’t edible.
We were seated immediately and the waitress was attentive, but she didn't actually listen to the things I asked for. For example, I asked for separate bowls of ranch for each person for the cheese fries. She brought one. The food was mediocre on seasoning, but was cooked per order. The prices seemed a bit high. It was $51 for 2 adults and 1 child.
This is very obviously a "locals" place. Everyone seemed to know everyone else. The food is mediocre but not bad. Prices are good for the quality. Service was not great. Our waiter never really checked back in on us, we had to wait quite a bit just to get our drinks or have our order taken. And to be clear, there were maybe 5 tables full at the time in the dining area. I'm not saying I would not go back, but I would rather explore other places to eat in the area after the experience. My son got the catfish, which was a suprizingly small portion for the price, but he liked it. I got a the club/soup combo with cheddar potato soup. The soup itself was basically chunks of potato some viscous "soup" and too much cheddar overall.
Nice looking restaurant. Friendly staff. I had a chicken, bacon, and cheese sandwich. A pounded flat chicken breast, no seasoning, two small pieces of bacon with one slice of bacon an inch long. I hope I didn't bankrupt them with all that bacon. I may try them again with different meal just to see difference. Not bad, but not any flavor.
Do not order online. They do not have all of the updates in. At least that is what I was told. Lame to me. No option to put gravy/sauces on side. So take out is soggy. If you do not mind driving. I highly recommend the Woodville location. Better atmosphere. Servers have warmer, friendlier personalities. Oh yeah and ordering through the app or drive-thru apparently you do not get bread, even though you are paying the same price as dining in. I'm saving myself the hassle and go to Cedar Tree. They have a lot of the same items anyway and some, not all, are cheaper. Same portions. If I feel the need for Elijah's, I've no problem driving to Woodville.
The squash casserole was bland had too much bread. The ribeye was thin if it was one I still think it was a sirloin they gave me. Shrimp was bland . Salad was good and the okra .not sure about any of the other food but Thai was our 2nd choice . Cedar tree was our first but they was remodeling.
No one noticed us when we entered restaurant to seat us although they were walking around. Seated ourselves, got our own menus and silverware. Finally ordered and 30 minutes later for a bowl of chicken & dumplings and a club sandwich we still hadn’t received our order. Finally seen them put the food on the counter but 10 minutes later still sitting there no later me brought it . The entire time the mgr was sitting in a booth 10 ft from us wondered why we got up to leave. There were at least 5 waitresses but yet no one cared- and maybe besides us there were 4 tables in entire restaurant. Wonder if the food is good~? We wouldn’t know!
Avoid this place if you are hungry and want to eat! We had our drink orders filled promptly, but we had to wait about 15 minutes for the waitress to take our meal orders. Then, my wife had her Chicken Pot Pie delivered promptly and had time to finish it. and we waited, and we waited, and finally, after another 20 minutes; I had had enough and told her, "Let's go." Suddenly, my plate was ready, and I refused it! I had lost my appetite and was ready to go. The cashier apologized and comped our check. I'm so disappointed and will not be back!
If I could give zero Stars I definitely would. But I am at least giving them one star because I have eaten there and the food there is good. Reason for the bad review is the last three times that we went there, there was a handful of tables couldn't be more than six, we were not greeted had to stand up front and wait for several minutes, although different staff members came up to the front and did things at the register. Tonight when we got seated, they did bring us a booster for the child that we had with us. But then nobody came and took our drink order as we sat there for well more than 5 minutes. The waiter finally came and checked on the table behind us but never greeted us or told us that somebody would be with us in a moment. The people behind us said it was a worse service that ever had there. They had plenty of staff members on site and four tables when we walked in. I always try to give them a chance since we like their home cooking. But this will be the last time we ever frequent their establishment because their staff is horrendous. Sad to see that management cannot do a better job in training their staff.
Second and the last horrible experience with this place! Went there for lunch the waiter got our order all messed up and then when we said something to the manager that wasn't what we had ordered, the waiter never came back to the table. The manager gave us a gift certificate for 2 dinners $8.99 or less with 2 drinks. So we went back a couple of weeks later to use the certificate and the waitress told us they were out of rolls did I want cornbread, I said yes...she never came out with the cornbread and then 45 minutes later I had to ask where our lunch is at? Grill fish and fries fish plates. Then when I asked about the cornbread she said they were out! She then had someone else bring our plates out and never came back to the table. When I explained to the manager she did nothing but nod her head will NOT go back again.
Food is pretty good but management gets it 1 star. I place a to go order often as I live nearby, so I eat here alot both inside the establishment and to go. My child's favorite is their rolls & butter so when I ordered I was specific about this in my order, how many rolls & butters. I get my food and pay but didn't get but 2 rolls and no butter. I politely asked for what I had ordered the manager come to the window and says if I want additional rolls or butter I have to pay extra. When I eat inside the establishment they bring however many rolls & butters you want at no extra charge. I'm paying for a full meal, the same cost as eating inside so the fact they want to nitpick their repeat customers is not doing them any favors.
The food was absolutely horrible. The chicken tasted boiled. The seasoned rice, well, plain white rice has more flavor. The green beans were cold. The black eyed peas tasted like plastic. Awful awful experience. First and last time going to this place. Never again!
Had to get table wipes off before seated was dirty from people before (not w dishes)w food liquid silverware I had to clean before could eat w them. The prices are high for the quality of food chicken fried steak had gristle and hard, love Tea told waitress could not drink taste bad to sweet. Waitress friendly but other staff members not at all high chair was dirty also. Staff acted like they didn't want to be there. I am a clean person and nice but will never go back.
Was looking forward to good home cooking. Sad to say I was disappointed. My chicken fried steak was good but the yams had so much salt we couldn't eat them. The gravy tasted like the inside of a can. Green beans were very good. The dessert was your best item and hope you can correct these and be something you can enjoy on your menu. My final advise is hide the salt shaker.
This place needs a good power washing inside and the rotting, black mold looking wood behind and around the hand washing sink in the kitchen needs to be replaced. The dust on all the wall decor was disgusting. This place needs a Major Over Haul and remodeling if they plan on staying in business for any extended time period. The food was ok but if I had actually taken a look around before we ordered I would have left. If the staff has time to stand around on their phones they have time to clean something. Although I must say the young lady who took care of us was very friendly and attentive. Even though she was young she was one of the best waitresses we have had in a long time.
Ordered two trail blazers to go, which for clarification is steak bites. Husband arrived home with two unflavored hamburger patties covered in cheese and mushrooms. Instead of doing the right thing which was inform my husband they didn't have steak, they hid the fact under cheese hoping we wouldn't notice.
We come here often but it's going downhill. Tonight I picked up a to-go order and when I got home two of the sides were missing and the meatloaf was completely red inside, undercooked. Not a little pink, but red. This was after getting there and being told they were out of what I had originally ordered and told me they could give me meatloaf in place of it. So, not only did they not have what I wanted and ordered, but what they did have wasn't even cooked all the way. They get away with this kind of service by putting a sign on the door that says once you leave there's nothing they can do if something is wrong with your order. Pitiful.
We had a large family dinner and everything was great!
Yesterday our family was there for lunch at 11am. I ordered a patty melt as well as my husband ,I substituted my fries for onion rings extra1.00 ok no problem. My granddaughter ordered a burger and ask for a baked potato instead of fries. The waitress never bothered to say no sub on burger brings out potato and never says anything assumption I thought that maybe a couple extra for potato. Then as she brought the check I told her that she ordered a potato instead of fries and then she said oh no we don't do that. 7.99 for a very small plain potato. Ok I go to said manager and she refuses to take the potato off saying that she will not refund or change it completely rude. So I paid and told her she lost a customer she was not in the least concerned that she was rude or losing a customer. Y'all should teach your employees the RULES of your business if your never gonna be there . Anyway she cost a faithful customer of many years to her rudeness and inadequate behavior.
The food is hands down amazing. I am not one for bad reviews, but this is the second time that we have had an absolute terrible experience. The first time we went we had a young blonde waitress and we did not get silverware or a menu within the first hour of being there and then we did not get refills for most of the night we were a group of 5 on a very slow night and were nice to staff but every time we needed anything we would have to hunt staff down sometime she was not even out for more than thirty minutes at a time and when she came back would still not have silverware or menus we were probably there 2 and a half hours she gave our table to someone else who did great compared to what we had that day. Today we had an older Hispanic waitress who was amazing we complemented her the whole time and were very thankful and right after are food came out she left, it was over an hour before anyone else checked on us and when a waiter asked if we needed a ticket we said yes and never got one we were here about three hours today and there’s no excuse for this if you go use the drive through because their waiting staff doesn’t know there heads from their rears. Congratulations you both lost yourself good tippers.
Big fail Elijah's Jasper Texas. Service was extremely slow with only a handful of diners. It took forever to get our food. We ordered the 5 pc fried catfish with squash casserole. The fish was very over cooked. It was more like fish jerky. The squash casserole was mainly just yellow squash put in a bowl and the fries were cold. If this is what Elijah's is going to be like I won't stop again.
Previously I had had excellent experiences at Elijah's. Maybe tonight was just a bad night. Three of the seven seven people served at our table had terrible food. The steak was terrible quality, one over cooked and one under cooked, pork chops were overcooked, baked potatoes and steamed carrots were practically raw. Everyone else's food was pretty good. Service was terrible. Very slow and took about 25 minutes to be seated because we were a party greater than six. I never received one of my sides and refills were hard to come by. Server did state that they were out of cornbread but did not offer the typical rolls either. 2025 Update: Restaurant was about 40-50% filled. Took 45 minutes for salads to come out. They were out of fried pickles and baked potatoes. Food started showing up at 52 minutes. Last food came out at 66 minites. First round of refills at 67 minutes. Medium rare steaks were cooked well done. Pork chops very thin and overcooked. We asked a few times for bread; nothing. I have always loved this place but they bombed tonight.
My family and I just finished our meal here. I felt very rushed to order although the restaurant was not busy. We placed our order, waited for quite some time. After finally getting our food to the table my baked potato was hard and ice cold in the middle of it. When my wife spoke up about the issue our waitress asked if I wanted her to "warm it up in the microwave" I was mind blown that It was not offered to replace my potato all together. I told her no I didnt even want it because by this point my family was half done with their meal. She told me she would take it off my final bill for me to which she only took 1/2 off. In the mix of all of these things my daughter pointed out a small roach climbing on the back of the booth where my head was. I could not get out of this place quick enough!!
I will not not be returning here. Ordered ahead and picked up fried chicken salad and an order of fries. Had to ask for plastic ware and was given an attitude for it. Asked for ketchup and the server just looked at me and walked off. I had to walk back and get my own ketchup. And the fries suck. WILL NOT RETURN. The location in Kirbeyville has dropped off to, I do not eat there anymore either. Way to go managers 👍
