Went to Carrabba's for dinner on New Year's Day, it was busy but not packed. Our waiter was Herman and he was fantastic. Friendly, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. The salmon I had was perfectly cooked and my wife enjoyed her Mezzaluna. Everytime we come here, this place delivers a solid experience. No complaints, would definitely recommend for a casual dinner out.

Long day. I mean one of those days. Michelle and I dragged ourselves into our favorite Carrabba’s tonight just hoping for a decent meal and a quiet corner to decompress. The place was buzzing, smelled incredible the second we walked in, and the host team was friendly as always. Then we met Herman — and that’s when the night shifted gears. This guy is the definition of how it should be done. Not loud, not fake, not rushing us, not hovering. Just a genuinely pleasant, grounded human being who clearly takes pride in doing his job well. The kind of person you feel lucky to cross paths with at the end of a long day. He read the room perfectly. We never waited for anything. Drinks stayed full, timing was on point, and he somehow managed to make the whole experience feel easy and unrushed even though the restaurant was packed. Carrabba’s should be proud to have Herman wearing their name tag. People like him make you come back — not just the food. Outstanding service from an outstanding guy.

I had not been to Carrabba's in many years. We moved west of Katy 2 years ago and I mentioned to my husband I love their chocolate dessert there. On my birthday my husband surprised me with lunch there. It was as good as I remember. They also gave me my dessert for free, since it was on my birthday. I signed up for the points and hope to go back more often. The waitress was very nice and attentive.

We've always enjoyed Carrabba's, especially this Carrabba's. And recently we found more reason to be even bigger fans of this restaurant. Our son announced to us about 5 weeks ago, his plans to marry. I had to scramble to help the bride (her mother lives abroad), get a dress, alterations, flowers, cake, and a place to entertain the guests. I did not have a lot of time and admittingly, a little worried about finding a place to host the reception on such short notice. Something told me to call a familiar family favorite, which was Carrabba's at 6501 S. Fry Rd., in Katy, Texas. They provided a good selection of food and a wonderful room to host a wedding party of about 35 guests. Kenny O'Rourke was highly personable and answered my many calls and texts, to respond to all of my questions and help coordinate a beautiful event. He even ordered special-colored linens for the tables to go along with the color scheme. They were able to store the wedding cake and the flowers that we brought early the morning of and allowed us freedom to have the tables set up as we wished. There were separate tables for the gifts and guest book and the wedding cake. The food, which was absolutely wonderful, and the drink flowed brilliantly. The special staff that he assigned, Vanessa & Polina, did a tremendous job of keeping our guests very happy. They were phenomenal. The bartender (I'm sorry I did not catch his name), had to I'm sure, work very hard to keep up with the demands of the wedding guests. I would give a 10-star review for how well this very memorable moment in our son's and his new bride's life turned out. For any future family event, be it a birthday, retirement, graduation, reception, etc., Kenny O'Rourke @ Carrabba's @ 6501 S. Fry Rd. in Katy, Texas will be the first call that I make. It was a very underwhelming experience. Our server was not too attentive. Water was only filled once after we were done with our meals. Food took so long to come. I specifically told the waiter that I’m vegetarian and he recommended two different soups. The lentil soup that he recommended came with sausage so I had to return it back. And the runner is the one who tells me that all the soups were made with chicken broth. So I asked him for a salad instead. Server had no idea about this because he didn’t ask or visit our table as much. Then he abruptly brings the machine to take the payment as if he was rushing us out. Well this is about the third time I've gone there. The service really never been nothing to brag about but my last experience took the cake. They weren't busy all the waiters and waitresses standing in the middle of the resteraunt talking. So why did I have to wait to be seated? We went for my son’s birthday. The waiter was awful. After multiple mistakes he stopped coming to the table. Food was greasy and not flavorful. I think we could have done better at Rainforest Cafe.
