China Cottage is one of the few bright spots for Chinese food in the Katy area. Take advantage of their weekly lunch menu (available until 3pm) which also includes soup. Food is always served fresh and steaming hot. Love their fried rice as it is not bland-tasting like in other restaurants. Among our favorites are the General Tso's Chicken, Hunan Beef and Triple Ingredients Dish. Their Lo-Mein is actually pretty underrated and very good as well. Food portions on the lunch menu although generous are not enough to split with someone else. Jenny and the older lady (sorry I don't remember her name) have been our servers on most of our visits and are always very friendly. I highly recommend you give this cottage a visit; you won't be disappointed!

Portions are smaller than other Chinese places in the area. Egg rolls were excellent, but the chicken and broccoli not so much. I personally prefer it to be on the sweeter side.

Pretty gross 'Chinese' American food. Chicken in the lo mein was over salted and rubbery, the "General Tao Chicken" wasn't good, and had fatty shreddy overly frozen pieces in it. Rice wasn't good. They forgot to include my soup. This place has been here forever, but their patrons need to start venturing out a bit. This is 1990s Katy food.

I’ve given this restaurant 2 tries now and I’m honestly disappointed. The food is mid at best…I tried honey chicken and beef and broccoli. Not very flavorful or savory at all. The honey chicken had no taste. The beef and broccoli was watery. Husband tried sesame chicken that had way too much corn starch, it tasted chalky. The rice is lumped together because it’s over cooked. The only thing I actually enjoyed from here and would go back for is the vegetable spring rolls. They were crunchy and I could actually taste the different flavors in it. They also put the clear noodles in the spring rolls which is a yummy touch. Too bad the other food wasn’t great :/

The rudest people in Houston. The food is pretty good but both times we’ve gone they didn’t believe it was our food and practically withheld it from us then helped other customers and left us standing there. We intentionally spent $40 to get the Rangoon’s in in both of our orders, they didn’t put them in there which was 100% intentional. These people are shady. I would give zero stars bro I’m pissed. I’m a freak out.

It’s been about a little bit over a year since I’ve been to this place not sure if they got bought out but not the same food. This is the most disgusting Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life and I am 47 years old. Overpriced I highly recommend not to waste your money on this place we ordered sesame, chicken, beef, and broccoli combination fried rice, and some eggrolls they gave us complementary craft puffs That they should’ve just kept because there was no craft puff in it

Be careful !!!!! Literally after eating half my food I found a maggot in my food ! My family and I have eaten at china cottage a few times! Maggot in the food is UNACCEPTABLE & DISGUSTING . I am so disappointed I didn’t even get a refund just really sickening by the maggot ! NEVER EVER EATING HERE AGAIN! China cottage get it together my kids literally ate some of this.

I just picked up my lunch to go. Opened it up to see a huge bug in my food. I immediately took the food back. They refunded my money. I will not be eating at this establishment again!!!!!! So for anyone who reads this please think twice about going here.
