Yummmm! Delish fish tacos. Seems like a local fave and is well worth a stop if you’re driving through. Funky decor and super friendly staff.

Oh my god 10/10 I ordered the shrimp burrito with lettuce instead of cabbage.

Really attentive service, excellent and inventive food. Nice and chewy flour tortillas on the burritos. Lots of flavor in the filling, and the chips and salsa were excellent: hot, crispy, and a rich chunky salsa with lots going on. Cool anime stuff on the wall!

Best tacos I’ve ever had

I was a few hours into a road trip to Big Sur, and I was deep into listening to Nickelback’s greatest hits. I got so lost in the music that I missed my exit by FIFTY MILES. I wish that were an exaggeration. I happened to have this realization as I was passing the humble town of King City, so I turned around and pulled off to get some gas and food. After a quick Google search, the abnormally high rating of this restaurant piqued my interest, so I felt I must give it a shot. I got the Cali surf and turf burrito and GOOD LORD I can’t even begin to describe the pure joy every bite of this behemoth burrito brought me. For the price I was expecting something smaller, but this thing was the size of a full grown Guinea pig. It was indubitably the best burrito I’ve ever had in my life. I believe it was destiny that I happened upon this place. I subsequently had to drive the 50 miles back to my exit, and I would do it again. Id drive 100 miles out of my way any day just for two bites of this burrito. Not just one, that would be crazy. I’m not a lunatic. But for two, I’d do it. I mean that.

Me and my husband were on our way to Monterey and decided to stop here. I ordered 3 al pastor tacos and they were delicious! Honestly these were some of the best tacos I have tasted in a long time. The meat was fresh and the creamy salsa was super yummy. We will definitely stop here again when we head North.

Wow I can’t believe I’ve been driving past this place for so long. It is SO good I got the fish burrito and the chips and guacamole. Everything was fresh and had its own special twist. All you need is ceviche to go with it!

The food is delicious. The fish taco has a little kick to it. The surf and turf has a tasty Baja sauce. Two tacos filled me up. I waited about 15 minutes to get my food, but it was busy. I would go back.

Very delicious tacos! My husband and I had fish tacos, a surf and turf taco, aguachiles verdes with mango, and the surf and turf fries. Great flavor, sauces were tasty, meats were fresh, and the aguachiles we're so good! serive was nice and took care of us. Hope they are able to sell beer in the future, but that wouldn't stop us from going back!

I had the vegetarian burrito and my honey the fish burrito. Both really fresh and super tasty. May have been the best vegetarian burrito I’ve ever eaten! Very friendly, fast server too.

What an incredible restaurant! Such delicious satisfying food. My friend got fish tacos which were giant and full of amazing sauce and I got carne asada fries which were fully loaded and the secret Baja sauce had the perfect amount of kick. 10/10 would go again and if you are in or are passing through King City, I highly recommend this spot!

The food here is so delicious!! I love the beer battered shrimp tacos! The California burrito is really yummy!! If you are passing thru on the 101 and be going by King City....stop by Castros surf and turf....Broadway exit. You won't be disappointed!!

Went to California for a military reclass and got lucky enough that we had awesome instructors that recommended Castro's surf and turf for our last lunch there. If you ever make it to King City, CA you need to eat there. There are so many options for burritos, tacos, and loaded fries. Their portions are fantastic compared to what you pay for it. I paid $30 for a Cali surf and turf gourmet burrito, Small Cali surf and turf loaded fries (trust me it was a lot for a small), a Baja fish taco and a fanta. If you get to come here come hungry.

Hidden Gem on the Central Coast! My wife and I were driving from San Jose to LA and decided to make a pit stop in King City for gas and a quick bite. We stumbled upon Castro's Surf N Turf and were so glad we did! The tacos were outstanding! Fresh, flavorful, and those homemade tortillas were the perfect touch. I had the Surf N Turf and a Baja-style fish taco, both were fantastic. My wife raved about the Chicken Quesadilla Taco. We also loved the blue raspberry lemonade – so refreshing! We planned on a quick stop, but the food was so good we ended up finishing our meal in the parking lot. This place is a hidden gem that deserves way more attention. If you're ever driving through King City, don't miss it!

Don’t miss out on this little gem. We stopped on a whim while driving from SF to Santa Barbara. It was a win. Very casual and welcoming atmosphere. The woman who greeted us immediately accommodated our toddler and baby. She happily let us change from eat in to take out so we could let the kids run around outside. But the burritos!! Fish burrito was next level. The super burrito and Cali surf and turf were all perfectly cooked and seasoned. 5 stars.

I’m giving this place all stars, the food fresh and tasty , why get fast food at chain restaurants when you can get fresh and fast if you gotta take it out. Super friendly young fellas that greets you with a smile,(single ladies you would like) polite and repeated the order as he was entering it. Asked specific questions, “red or green sauce on the side or inside the burrito “, why not do both! They earned a big tip and they were fast! Hot tasty burritos ( the classics) deserved 5 stars just for being delicious . Defiantly come back next time I’m traveling through on 101 since I didn’t have time for the cold beer or $5 margaritas! Castro you got a good thing going!👍🏽

So, this place is bomb. We found it on a road trip about 19 months ago. We stop by every time on the 101. Easy parking on the street for RVs/Campers. Great staff and awesome food. Wife loved the ahi nachos and kids dug the shrimp fries.

Ordered the Fish n Shrimp burrito bowl, flavor was excellent and well proportioned. My wife ordered the mango salad and enjoyed it. The food tends towards the spicy side which I loved but be sure to ask for sauce on the side if you don't like spicy. The Baja sauce is a safe option if you don't like sauce.

Great food had the hot Cheeto burrito it was delicious.

Stopped for lunch on our way from LA to San Francisco. Food was great! Some of the best tacos I’ve had in Cali! Cashier was friendly and they bring your food to the table. Very cool art vibes inside! Definitely worth the stop!

Stopped by this nice little spot. The fish tacos were huge and delicious in the Baja style. We also got a surf and turf plate. It was delicious and probably could have fed two!

So happy to have found this amazing little place. Their Fries menu is out of this world! They have a "California burrito" so stop and get yours. The carne asada is cooked to perfection. Their salsa selection is perfect from mild to spicy. Definitely not a typical taco & burrito stop. The service and ambiance is young, hip, and refreshing. This will be mandatory stop when we travel this way.

Stopped traveling from Solvang to San Jose and stopped for a bite. All 3 of us loved our meals. I highly recommend the Ahi tuna nachos.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to San Simeon. I customized the classic tacos and added rice, beans, guacamole and flaming hot Cheetos and they were so delicious. The hot sauce was so good. The service was fast and the server was kind and considerate. Glad that we stopped here!

Omg the shrimp burrito was amazing. I'm so glad I found this place. If you're heading to not Nor Cal or So Cal on the 101, it's a must! The place looks nice inside. There are plenty of TVs and they even have a bar with a big screen TV.

They have some of the most amazing tacos and burritos I have eaten. I usually have one or the other versions of fish tacos when I pass near King City. It's a little less traditional than many of the other fine Mexican establishments, and that's part of the charm in a way. My only complaint are the three walls of giant televisions all on sports channels. I could do with a little less of that. Food is made fresh, so it may take 10 minutes to get, but it is worth it. Good parking, kid friendly.

If passing through King City this is a must stop for bomb asada/steak paired with awesome shrimp in all sorts of wonderful combinations ( though they do have other options as well). The steak as mentioned earlier was perfectly seasoned and cooked and shrimp pairing along with the dressings they place (their house Baja dressing is sooo good) make for meal you won't regret. Also tried their Fish Tacos and I am telling you that the rock fish was battered excellently and their corn tortilla was just the right amount of thickness & flavor to compliment the tacos. Was recommended to come here thru word of mouth if traveling on 101 near Paso Robles/ SLO and it definitely holds up to it reputation. Somewhere I will definitely come to again if traveling nearby. Decent parking for the building, bench seating so good for group and nice overall interior atmosphere. Your meal can take a second so if in a rush, better to order/call ahead but 100% worth the wait. Definitely a spot you will eat again and again once you discover it.

When the chef brought out our shrimp (Baja style) and fried avocado tacos and our California (with carne asada) burrito, the presentation was simple but lovely, and the flavor was YUM. What a great discovery & we'll be back if we're ever in the area!

Got the asada taco, fish taco, and shrimp taco. It was decent and there were a lot of options to choose from. For the area, it's one of the better options for food.

Very good food, the nachos were big enough for two. The 5 dollar burrito was perfect with well seasoned chicken.

If you are looking for good and tasty Mexican food with lots of flavor this is the place.

One of the best available in King City, they have varieties that’s not available else , I am very happy with the dishes I have had . Expect waiting, so order in advance. A must try , if you are in king City. Slightly costly , but worth it . It would have been nice if they have given pickle and salsa with Burito , I thought it was in the pack , but wasn’t. Guacamole was fresh and the salsa was spicy and a different texture than most. Love the traditional double tortilla and the choice of sauces. A bit cramped and I'm not sure about sanitation grades in California. But I would go again.

Mango habanero sauce is on their menu but they don't have it. So weird

50min wait for 3 tacos with 2 ppl at the bar and only three tables with people is insane. Last time coming

They're always changing employees. Unfortunately the person who took our order yesterday wasn't trained properly. They gave us something totally different than what we had asked for and when I called and spoke to someone else all they said was oh well we are sorry. I'm not asking for free food but they couldn't even offer to correct our order. Was a big fan of this place but unfortunately this is our last visit.

If you like fried food that is double fried and shrimps that taste like rubber then go for it with by all means! We saw good reviews and came but maybe this is the baseline taste here… it took over 30 mins to get appetizers. We were driving down south from SF and it was supposed to be a 30 mins stop which became over 90 mins because of the slow service and we were the only one’s there. The servers seemed underpaid and exploited because of how sad they seemed. Looks like an establishment which used to be good but is down the drain now.

If there was no star rating I would give it a 0. Meat was not well cooked. Tasted plain. Food was unsanitary, there was a hair in my food. I will never eat here again!

Very long wait times. Not worth it. Ordered online at 1:40 to avoid a wait time. Got there 20 mins later. Had to wait an extra 10 when I got there because it wasn’t ready yet. Got the food at 2:10 but they put a topping on my food that I’m allergic to. Had to go back and ask for a redo. Received the new order at 2:40. Overall, very long wait time for 4 items. It’s great that you consider yourselves “proudly not fast food” but maybe you should work a little faster on the food.

Was eager to try for my first time but sitting in the corner for 30 minutes waiting for 2 burritos was unacceptable I ask for an update and to top it off they said it was going to be another 30 minutes for the food no thanks !!

I asked for a veggie bowl and I got a veggie plate with hardly any food on it was very upset and I will never come back here again sorry and on top of that I got chorro
