We had Overlook do our wedding cake and we cannot rave enough about their team. The whole process was super smooth, and communication was wonderful. We wanted a vintage vibe since we were using my grandparent's cake topper and they made that happen with amazing care and detail. Rosie was a pleasure to work with and everyone at the wedding was raving about the flavor. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Rosie was absolutely wonderful to work with! We ordered our wedding cake from Overlook Bakery, it was GF and vegan, and all our guests said it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. The cake was just beautiful and exactly what we talked about. Rosie was so responsive and helpful, would 100% recommend and order from again! We also tried their cookies at a local brewery in westkill and they were phenomenal!

We hired Rosie at the last minute for our wedding in October as the initial baker we hired didn’t follow through. This was the best thing that could have happened for us as it led us to Overlook Bakery! Rosie was so incredibly kind, understanding and accommodating. She was able to bake the same cake flavor and styles for both our wedding cake and Bundt cakes for the guest. Since we lived out of state our first time tasting the cake and Bundt cakes was the night of the wedding. We were absolutely blown away with how delicious they were and how perfect the cake looked! We are so grateful for Overlook Bakery taking us on a month before the wedding and delivering such beautiful and delicious desserts for our special day! Cake Flavor: 8” heart shaped marble cake filled with peanut butter buttercream and covered in vanilla buttercream. Bundt Cake Flavors: 20 marble with vanilla glaze and 20 vanilla with chai glaze.

Overlook Bakery is absolutely amazing! My husband and I ordered our wedding cake just a week before our ceremony and they were incredible and so accommodating. Everyone loved the citrus olive oil cake with lemon curd and they completely nailed our vision. It was better than we ever could have hoped for and I couldn't stop smiling at it the whole night. After walking up Overlook Mountain what do you do next? Of course you stop at Overlook Bakery. They offer a good selection of cookies, muffins, cakes and coffee items with many GF and vegan options. Inside there are a few tables for two people and picnic tables with umbrellas outside. We enjoyed sitting outside. The service was as excellent as the pastries were. It was a Tuesday in early October and many other places were closed in Woodstock.

Came up from NYC for the weekend with friends to celebrate my birthday and Overlook did NOT disappoint!! I didn’t order a bday cake ahead of time so we went to pick something out the day of; and they had a perfect pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting that I’ll dream about for years to come :) the staff was super friendly and they also sold local art. Will be back soon ❤️

The best bakery in Woodstock. Incredible pastries and cookies, delicious coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s always a treat to stop by. The kitchen sink cookie and the tahini chocolate chip cookies are my favorite.

Skip the baked goods at Bread Alone and come here instead! 5X better tasting. The chocolate chunk cookie and the carrot cake were both excellent, and the owners were awesome and passionate about their baking. It’s a little farther along Tinker St but not to be missed.

I pre-ordered a 6" chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling as a birthday cake for my husband! It was delightful-- the cake was moist, the buttercream was the perfect balance of richness and the raspberry filling was on point! Thank you Rose and Overlook Bakery for a beautiful cake!

I’ve tried cake from here that was served at yumyum noodle bar on the dessert menu and it was delicious . Recently I popped in and bought a cheddar scone, I was gonna save it for breakfast the next day. I’ll never know how it tasted because my cat ate it, but according to the fact that there was none left his actions have proven the scone to also be 5 stars .

So happy to have found this charming bakery. Their salty chocolate chip cookie and kitchen sink cookie deserves to be on best cookie lists. Crispy edges, chewy middle and so flavorful! Wish I lived closer but will definitely be returning whenever I visit the area.

The iced latte was really yummy. The vegan almond thumbprint cookie was the most delicious cookie I’ve ever eaten. The barista was nice to my toddler. 👏

I am a huge cake lover, but I’m incredibly hard to impress because so many bakeries sell dry cakes. I stopped by Overlook Bakery early in the morning and managed to snag one of their ready-made Valentine’s Day heart cakes (a chocolate cake with raspberry jam) without a pre-order. I have to say, this was the most moist chocolate cake I have ever had in my life. The flavor was phenomenal—rich, deep, and delicious. I usually struggle with bakery cakes being too dry, but the texture of this one was unbelievable. It’s rare to find a place that actually nails the sponge this well. The only downside was the frosting. I didn't really care for it; it had a bit of a "commercial" taste and was quite hard. It seemed like a standard buttercream that had firmed up, which is common, but it didn't live up to the quality of the cake itself. It is definitely on the pricier side—about $34–$35 for a small heart cake. However, given how difficult it is to find a cake this moist and flavorful, I would absolutely pay it again. If you’re a cake snob like me and prioritize texture and rich chocolate flavor, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back, even if the frosting wasn't my favorite part.

The display case is full of options, including many items for dietary-restricted folk. The carrot cake on display smelled heavenly. The food looked really good in the cabinet. Neutral: There are no prices on any of the items in the display case. Drink prices are on a small board that looks left over from the 60s, in tiny font, about 6-7 feet from the counter. Manager/Owner? and another staff member sat discussing business matters (Thanksgiving orders I presumed) at one of the few open tables, right next to the cashier station. Cons: Wildly overpriced. A small 6" round cake was $50. I didn't realize this until it was already boxed up and presented to me (again, lack of pricing anywhere), and then after I paid for it I was hurredly told it was previously frozen and to let it sit out for another hour to thaw. I got the cake home, let it thaw, and it isn't good. It isn't great. It's weirdly dense, like undercooked or too much egg in the batter. The cream cheese filling is incredibly rich in a "eating a spoon of sugar" sort of way. Coconut came through, but I could barely eat one whole (small) slice of it. If you want your cake and to be able to eat it, go elsewhere.
