We have eaten at this restaurant many times. The food and service staff always does a good job for us. We loved the fried cauliflower appetizer. They accept reservations for large parties and it seems like we end up have a big group for special occasions. We had another delecious dinner this evening and always look forward to dining their with family and friends

Wonderful brunch with so much selection! Loved the prime rib & fresh juices. Reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of food.

The grilled shrimp was superb. Maya took good care of us. Cheers to a wonderful anniversary dinner at Knoxville's classic restaurant. I enjoyed my first meal there 40 years ago while working at the 1982 World's Fair. So glad to see the cappuccino machine is still there. Great memories.

Yesterday after running some errands, we decided to go to Copper Cellar for lunch. My biggest complaint about Copper Cellar is that there’s only one ramp on the other side of the parking lot to get on the sidewalk. After we ordered, they brought us freshly baked sourdough bread. I thought the bread had a strong sourdough taste and was incredibly soft. For my meal, I ordered Maryland Crab Cakes and they were served with one side and I decided to go with blue cheese grits. The crab cakes had a beautiful golden brown crust and were incredibly lumpy. I thought the grits were very creamy and had a mild blue cheese flavor. I highly recommend trying the crab cakes with the grits. My mom chose the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad and she loved it. My dad got the chicken salad sandwich with fries and he thought it was good. If you’re ever in the area of Copper Cellar, I highly recommend checking them out.

I have been here twice and had fantastic experiences both times. The food is excellent, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and it has a very warm and inviting decor. It is also reasonably priced, especially for special occasions. You should definitely give it a try.

Delicious brunch buffet with a wide variety of foods. There is a make your own Belgian waffle area, a chef to make delicious custom order omelets and the prime rib carving station was fantastic! If that wasn’t enough, they have lots of amazing desserts. A must try on Sunday!

What an amazing first experience! Service was fantastic, the food on point and the prices were reasonable. A 28oz. ribeye for $56.00? Absolutely! Cooked to the perfection of rare, melting in your mouth delicious. The prime rib was good, though she would have preferred it served more on the rare side. Oysters? Huge and sooo good! The crab dip was another winner at the table. The other half of the restaurant, Cappuccino is an Italian menu which is alleged to be just as good. A tip from our server? Eat at the bar and you can order from both menus if you chose! We will definitely be back to sample more of the dishes they serve.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and were glad we did. Our entire experience was just enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy yet romantic. Our server Dylan B was just wonderful and gave us just the perfect amount of attention. The amount of food for the price was just great! My husband got the cowboy special and we ate the lefts of the 28oz steak for days! Loved the fresh bread and the blue cheese grits were completely out of this world! Steaks were cooked perfectly! The only thing that was less than perfect was they plated our sides backwards so we had to carefully switch them as the dishes were very hot. But no biggie, at least they were what we ordered!!! Have to say though...we both agree, that the best part of the meal was the side order of mushrooms! These are a MUST! Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent choice if you're looking for that old time supper club ambiance. Wonderful staff, very knowledgeable and attentive. Since this was our first visit, we tried a couple of appetizers, the Crab Bisque soup and the Crab stuffed mushrooms; both were delicious! I had the Grilled Salmon, and it was cooked perfectly, along with fresh asparagus. Hubby had the Crab cake sandwich with Bleu cheese grits, and was quite satisfied. Afraid that much wonderful food left no room for dessert, so we'll have to return and try the apple cobbler with ice cream! Highly recommend!👍👍👍

Always good food and fine service. The atmosphere is vintage upscale, warm without being snooty or bourgie. Steakhouse menu fare is well-prepared and tasty. The seasonal strawberry shortcake dessert is 100% worth saving room for.

First time visiting, and it was on New Years Eve. But they didn't miss a beat. Our server was great, friendly, and fast. The steaks were cooked perfectly. That is hard to come by around here. It was seasoned to the 9s. All the sides were great as well. We are already planning on going back next year for Christmas. Oh, and they have two restaurants in one. The other side is Italian. We will be going back to try it out, too. Pros: Great food, friendly staff, well worth the cost Cons: Some of the booths are not very roomy. We had some bigger guys, and they weren't super comfortable. Price, don't go in looking for a 15.99 steak. You get your money worth $$$

I had the best experience while my friend and I were there to celebrate our special day!!! The food was absolutely delicious and presented very well!! I want to thank Ken and Adrianne at Cooper Cellar at the Kingston Pike location. They are amazing and really charismatic at what they do!! They were meant to be in hospitality because they know what customer service really means. They know how to light up a room and make people feel welcomed. If you ever go to Copper Cellar ask for those two because they will make your experience AMAZING!!!!! Thank you guys!!!!!☺️

If the Polo Bar had a child with a 90’s chain steakhouse you’d get CCW. Perfect in the best ways. Sit at the bar and order a martini 🍸

If I could give higher than 5 🌟 I would. We are extremely picky when eating out. I am a very good chef, so I critic. My husband does as well now. The service was PHENOMENAL! The food…I rarely eat steak out, I cleaned my plate. My husband’s jaw was dropped. I didn’t make any changes to my order and that is another shocker. Our waitress Hailey was exceptional! Both children loved their meals. We are still astounded. You must try this place! Management was exceptional as well! Thank you for checking in various times. Truly appreciated.

The Sunday brunch does not disappoint! For sure one of the best brunches I’ve been to in a while. The price was reasonable, and the variety was exceptional. It’s a little dark and dingy when you walk in but hey it’s supposed to be a copper cellar, so I liked that. Service was great, reservation recommended. Still as good as I remember!

The food was so delicious. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was lovely. Perfect upscale date night. Had the spicy macaroni and cheese with spinach, grilled lemon chicken, Prosperity ale steak, and fresh steamed broccoli. Everything was perfect and delicious. The ale steak and the spicy macaroni we're the best. (Mac and cheese really not that spicy as I cannot handle spicy).

Recently came here to celebrate for a family event. Had as an appetizer a cup of the clam chowder with oyster crackers also had a few pieces of fried calamari and buttered sourdough bread. Main course was the Shrimp Chesapeake: baked lump blue crab imperial and jumbo shrimp with succulent scampi butter and buttered mashed potatoes. Overall very tasty.

The steak here is amazing! We've never had bad food at Copper Cellar. The bread was nice and fresh, soft inside, crusty outside. I love their spicy Mac n cheese!!! Worth the prices!!

This was my first time going to Copper Cellar or Cappuccino's, though I'm frequently at the family restaurants Smoky Mountain Brewery, Corner 16, & Calhoun's. The night we went was a prom night so there was a little wait for the regular seating, but there was open seating in the bar, so we chose that. The copper table tops were an unexpected surprise with different stories carved into each one. We also learned that at the bar you can order from both menus which is a win win, as I love Italian, but my partner doesn't. We started with sourdough served with spiced oil. I had the Cacio Pepe from Cappuccino's, which was delicious with a really awesome meatball. It also came with a side of arugala salad . My partner ate off the Copper Cellar side, and how salmon was delicious as well, perfectly seasoned and cooked. For desert we had this amazing chocolate butter cake that had so many nuanced flavors that it stole the show for me. I'll happily come back for a special occasion!

Went to eat here after picking up my brother from the airport. There are tons of options nearby with about the same rating. Inside is very dark, older and more of a date night vibe. I wouldn't recommend it for families. Food prices are what you would expect. 48$ for a steak. I had the prime rib sandwich. Overall the food was fine. It's just an outdated feel. The music was terrible.

LOVE this classy romantic place. Very cozy and intimate. The food is so great and always tasty and the service is wonderful every time. I definitely recommend this place for a romantic date night or a celebration dinner.

Loved Copper Cellar West. It’s quite an institution in Knoxville. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. We sat in the bar’s lounge versus the dining room and had a fabulous dining experience!

Very good. 2nd time eating here, love the lighting, the service is great, I cleaned my plate both times, no complaints.

I’m sad that they closed the campus location, when I come up for games, it was nostalgic to go to the restaurant that I couldn’t afford when I was a student. Well I was in college this was a place where I learned what a good steak tasted like and I learned that love cream spinach The staff is always friendly and helpful, I come here a lot after games if I’m staying in West Knox. It’s good food/service plus nostalgia. I would love to see them open a campus store again. With the strip getting turned into nothing but apartments, it would be great to have at least one nice restaurant. I would think between students who are not broke (like I was), staff, date night, sports events, you could generate revenue to keep a store open but what do I know? I can still dream.

This is a perfect place for a date night. The food was excellent and reasonably pri ed with a nice wine selection. The atmosphere was cozy, especially in a booth, even when it was packed. The service was also excellent.

This place is a vibe. Never quite been to a steakhouse with this unique ambience. The place screams 1970s steakhouse and it’s super cool imo. Even the music they play is from the 70s lol. Plus good food and good prices and good service. Check it out, you won’t regret it!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, romantic meal last weekend. I’ve eaten here since the late 1970s. This restaurant remains one of the best. Ambiance is cozy, rustic, and romantic. Her chicken teriyaki was perfect. My Boursin filet was very tasty and incredibly tender. We both loved the neva potatoes. Finally, our service was outstanding. It was a great experience!

This restaurant deserves six stars. The food, everything from the fresh made sourdough bread, to the brownie sundae, and the main course of heavenly, divinely flavorful sirloin and ribeye steaks in between, was top tier phenomenal. And, $110 for three people, with salads and sodas, especially at this lofty level of quality, was an excellent value for a steakhouse, especially a top tier one. Aside from the food, we loved the cozy, warm ambience of the dining room. Sadly, a lot of restaurants have replaced this vibe with something cold and uninspiring. Not here. It felt wonderful just to spend time inside this place. Best off all, perhaps, this place is not in the least bit pretentious. It's very come as you are, and everyone we spoke with was friendly and unassuming. Our server, Julia, was patient, informative and friendly. She did a fantastic job of being attentive, despite juggling several other busy tables. Very professional while being sincere, down-to-earth and pleasantly real. My daughter absolutely loved her birthday meal. We all enjoyed our exoerience at Copper Cellar. We'll definitely be back.

This place is truly one of the original Knoxville restaurants and a solid staple in the local dining scene. It’s been around forever for a reason and has become part of the fabric of the city. You can feel the history and familiarity the moment you walk in, and it continues to deliver a consistently good experience. While brunch isn’t my personal favorite here, dinner is where this restaurant really shines. The menu offerings in the evening are reliable, well executed, and comforting, making it an easy go-to for a satisfying meal. Everything feels familiar in the best way—nothing flashy, just solid food done right. More than anything, this spot represents what a true local staple should be. It’s dependable, welcoming, and deeply rooted in Knoxville. Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting for the first time, it’s one of those places that feels like part of the community and continues to earn its reputation year after year.

This restaurant has such a warm, cozy atmosphere and the service was genuinely excellent—welcoming, attentive, and professional. It’s easy to see why this place has been a longtime staple in town. That said, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The dishes felt under-seasoned and were overpriced for what it was. Overall, a lovely spot for ambiance and service, but the food was average for the cost.

Decided to drive up to Knoxville and try out a new spot. The atmosphere would have been ok if we weren’t seated next to the bar where there were drunk customers singing loudly with the male bartender. Not okay. The food was good, but the servings were really small. Each “entree” comes with one side vegetable. Service was great. Christy is enough for a return visit. Excellent.

If you're of a particular age group, then this is your place. Songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s were playing while we dined. The food was well prepared and beautiful, but not a lot of flavor to it. This applies to the bread, and the filet mignon. Their chocolate cake was quite good though. The service was impeccable, and the overall ambiance was cozy. Restrooms were clean and well-stocked.

First visit to this establishment. The service was spectacular. The atmosphere is best described as European pub. Dim lighting yet enough to cretae a wonderful atmosphere. Armchairs are very comfortable and is a nice touch. Lets not forget the food...appetizers were delicious. New York Strip steak was a nice proportion and cooked precise as ordered. One interesting feature is the range of the menu. You can get a high end steak or a burger. Was a very enjoyable meal with great service. Easy entrance and plenty of parking.

They had a ribeye two ways on their special menu and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had at copper seller in years. Absolutely delicious.

Been a few years since I had eaten there and my wife really wanted to try and so we did, and the food was good as expected/remember! We did have a hiccup towards the end and management did address the situation (as I was starting to 🤔), and we basically shook on it and wrote it off as a goof! Let's just say the kitchen needs to be a bit more careful when preparing food and condiments! Other than that it was fine, and will return when in town next!

H

I have only visited for the Sunday brunch and I was not impressed. The omelet and the waffle were delicious but everything else I tried, well let's just say I expected more than a fancy continental breakfast. Especially when it is $80 for two people.

D

This place was okay. We liked what we got but we didn’t love it. For the price I think we just expected more. We usually go to Connors and tried branching out to other “nicer” restaurants but we just kept comparing it to Connors and it just wasn’t as good. Everyone at our table got something so that we tried a good variety of options and we will say the bisque was pretty good! We did notice that it seemed like an older crowd land our grandparents enjoyed their plates more than the rest of us.

So Copper Cellar for decades has been our go to for a delicious meal. The place we celebrated special occasions, and we would bring our guests. So yummy. However, after stating how great it was and having not been there for a while, our last trip with guests, was an embarrassment. Went like this: "We will have a house salad - can't wait for you try one of their homemade dressings!". Waiter: 'We don't make them in house anymore'. "Okay, well that's fine. We will have your fabulous seafood chowder - best on Knoxville". Waiter: 'Sorry, we don't have that anymore either'. We then ordered steaks that were mediocre at best. Then desert. "We will have the Creme Brulee'. It alone will make this stop worth while!" Waiter: 'We don't have that on the menu anymore'. This once great restaurant, is now a place where "Old School" food and service has come to die. So sad. Once guaranteeing an extraordinary meal and a lasting memory, now just serving a big plate of blah. The ambiance is still there. Still charming and inviting. However it just sits alone, with the food and even the service really, having left the building.

The atmosphere looks the part. Warm, comfortable, and it feels like a place that should deliver a polished, higher end meal. However; My food actually matched that. I ordered the sockeye salmon with mac and cheese and Maria spinach, and my meal was very good. Good flavor, cooked right, and something I would order again on its own. The problem is everything else. My wife ordered the filet mignon with mushrooms and walked away disappointed. Her reaction was simple: there is nothing special on the menu and the steak tasted about as good as Texas Roadhouse. At this price point, that is not acceptable. Service pushed this experience down to 2 stars. This was a slow Wednesday at about 4 p.m., yet every course took far too long. Long delay before appetizers. Long delay before entrees. Long delay before dessert. Our server felt very average, more what I would expect at a Cracker Barrel, not a place charging over $100 for two people. The manager did notice how long the entrees were taking and offered to comp dessert, which was a good gesture. We ordered the strawberry crepes. Those also took a long time to arrive, which wiped out most of the goodwill from the comp. The bill came to well over 100+, and only one of the two meals felt worth the money. Between the slow kitchen, underwhelming steak, and mediocre service, this ends up as a 2-star visit for us.

M
MCD

Overpriced and under seasoned. The service is slow, selection of wine limited, and the cocktails made with cheap alcohol and very watered down. This is the first place in Knoxville that didn’t serve us good booz and that’s pretty bad. The food was mediocre to be diplomatic; my swordfish and shrimp ($33) wasn’t worth $15: it was bland and honestly shrimp serves as a kebab (?!), and the asparagus arrived literarily dead. My husband’s steak wasn’t made to order for sure, it arrived dry and all kinds of temperatures. The mushrooms side was cold and under seasoned. Altogether it was $122 and that was the worst meal in a restaurant that we’ve had in Knoxville so far. Not worth the money. In addition, the place is a little dirty, their plates and cutlery a little dated and not clean enough, and the air smells funny, like the place hasn’t been aired (or air conditioning filter not replaced) in many years. We’re definitely not interested in going back.

L

Waited 10 minutes at hostess stand, finally left. Bartender saw us, but never alerted anyone that we were waiting. Highly disappointing. We love Cappuccinos, wanted to try Copper Cellar, but this was not good.

H
H. Alaween

The server was not comfortable to deal with. The food came cold, when complained the manager approached stating that they warmed up the same dish. Either to go there and accept what they provide you or else you’ll receive a rude treatment by the server.

B
Bradley Kestler

Ribeye cap steak is straight gristle!! There is no spinalis in this "Ribeye cap". The manager will bold face lie to you at your table trying to get you to believe you ordered something you didn't. The manager needs to be fired, the one working at 7:56pm on Tuesday December 9th in the bar area high tops. She is absolutey unprofessional and gives this establishment a bad image. I will not be back and will do everyrhing I can to be sure noone has my recommendation to dine here due to the treatment of this manager.

J
Jennifer Rooker

First time, last time. I ordered 2 glasses of Pinot Noir, ice water with lemon, a cup of new England clam chowder (that i was told was included, it wasn't), grilled (yet not grilled) filet Oscar style with seasonal vegetable medley, and the meal came with sour dough bread and butter. Reporting I can recommend the vegetable medley.
