It seems we didn't learn from the pandemic. Remember how businesses begged us to keep buying to avoid closing their doors? Remember how employees suffered at the hands of their employers when businesses shut down? And the Starbucks Mexico case was notorious for its poor labor practices. I bought some drinks for my nephews, and one of them was a modest coffee of the day for myself. All the drinks were delivered except for the coffee of the day, even though it was the first one they prepared—well, they already had it ready; it was just a simple black coffee. They prepared and delivered the drinks for the people who were there after us, but they still hadn't delivered my coffee, even though it was already made and poured; all they had to do was take it from the counter and hand it to us. They continued preparing other drinks for other people, and I mentioned to the barista that perhaps she had forgotten. With post-pandemic arrogance, she rudely told me that they had preferences for preparing and delivering drinks based on the order. I think he thought a coffee of the day was a small thing, but in that same order I bought five other drinks, including the famous Caramel Macchiato. We suffered through the pandemic, and I don't think we understood. We should remember how we employees hoped not to be laid off and that our customers wouldn't abandon us. Arrogance has a long memory in some companies and some employees.
