The food itself was a little above average, but it's the portions here that are extravagant. My burger was at least 8in in diameter. It doesn't matter what you order here, the ticket will be very inexpensive, and the portion sizes, well, let's just say you'll definitely be taking food home. This is a place where you will order one entree for two people. The service was friendly, and the food came out super quick.

The guys ordered sandwiches and fries, but I ordered chicken fried steak from the Sat special menu. It included three sides, roll and cornbread. I also had unsweetened tea. My green salad was falling out of the bowl onto the plate because it was so large. I also had mashed potatoes and buttered corn. Needless to say, I brought home enough food for my daughter's dinner too! Our server was top-notch and very accommodating. This was our first visit as we live out of the area. I feel sure that we will return for other meals when we return.

If you are a hearty eater, this is the place to go. Food was delicious and portions were HUGE. The table was a bit dirty, but nothing that you couldn't remove with your sanitary wipes. They're probably understaff like everywhere else. I still give them 5 stars because the food was DELICIOUS, and the server was wonderful. My husband had the country boy breakfast, and I had the roast beef dinner special; both plates had BIG PORTIONS.

Visiting the area, I was pointed towards Kelley's as a MUST for breakfast from a friend who grew up in the area. I had high expectations (I was hungry), and I was not disappointed. From hashbrowns made from scratch, an amazing ham slice and bacon, to the GIANT TEXAS SIZED biscuit with gravy on the side, everything was fresh and local. The biscuit was dense, but soft and flyffy with a wonderful buttery richness. The pricing was great for how much food I was brought, and the atmosphere was easy and comfortable..."Sit where you want, and we'll be there in a few minutes." My recommendation is that you are driving thru or visiting, don't miss a chance for breakfast or a daily special here at Kelley's.

Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu here. Check out the size of the biscuit. Tried to eat the three eggs with the chicken fried steak. Felt like I was on Man vs Food. I love this place. I’ve come here a few times, but this time we stopped after the Lonestar rally the food for the price is off the chain. The food taste wise is off the chain one of the most hidden gyms along 45 on your way to or from Galveston.

This place is awesome! I had the fried pork chops with collars, green beans and mash potatoes sides. Also a biscuit and corn bread. There was enough food for 3 people, it was delicious. Pork chops were huge and fried to crisp golden brown juicy perfection. The collards and green beans seasoned to southern standards of flavor. And the price was right. Love this place

What a great find for us. Obviously very popular with locals. We ordered the country fried steak platter not knowing how huge it was. Ended up being three meals for each of us and take out. We had excellent friendly service and a very clean restaurant and we will definitely be back.

The fried foods taste exactly like they should, not like they were fried with everything else in the kitchen. The service was wonderful. The place was clean. The prices were minimal for what you get. You'll be able to tip your extremely sweet wait staff like kings and queens since you'll have so much money left over from the savings on the cost of your meal. This place also has ALOT of seating to accommodate large groups. We were so impressed; we personally shared it with the manager. WE WILL BE BACK AND SHARE IT WITH ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!

If you want huge portions at an uninflated price, go here. It's clean, the food is fresh & there is nothing there that I wouldn't eat. Except for liver & onions but that is a me thing. The hamburgers look like what the fast food restaurants show on commercials. The hamburger steaks with brown gravy and onions & the chicken fried steak tastes like my grandma made it. And then there's the biscuits. They are unbelievable. Huge. And the cream gravy they serve with it is soooo good. The staff is attentive and they serve with smiles. If we lived closer, this would be a regular spot for us. It really is that good.

Be sure to get the sweet tea it's a Texas standard. Be sure you get there early for breakfast to get a biscuit before they run out, they are awesome with the gravy. On the road home, saw a billboard advertising Kelly's and needed to catch lunch. Boy, what good fortune! Unbelievably great place to eat. Food was great down home fare and portions were beyond imagination. We didn't see any patron leaving the restaurant without a take home bag. Prices were perfect too. Try the deep fried bacon and onion rings. Three of us eating, all getting something different and there was no disappointment from anyone. Now I've got another stop I have to make on the Houston to Galveston route.

I got one of the Tuesday specials, fried catfish with three sides- black eyed peas, mashed potatoes and fried okra. One catfish filet instead of two as suggested by Amanda, our efficient and friendly waitress. Thank. Goodness. I could only eat half of the fish and a third of everything else. The okra was crispy. Potatoes had lumps - yay! , but the black eyed peas and catfish stole the show. Delicious as always! Husband got the stuffed biscuit and it was humongous!

I gave this 4 stars n its putting 3??? Kelly’s has the Best Chicken Fried Steak and huge biscuit breakfast around hands down!!! But the last two times we ordered it from the LaMarque Location meeting friends the Country Gravy has changed. We made sure to ask for country gravy but unfortunately The “Traditional White Country Gravy” seems to be replaced with a Country Gravy that has a Chicken broth base. I have seen this as an Option in other Establishments but I usually eat at the League City location and never had a problem with the White Country Gravy. As we know there are various ways to make Country Gravy… this may have had some sausage grease added for flavors as well.. So make sure you Ask and clarify about the Gravy or honestly put it on the side because it can just Ruin the entire meal if the Gravy isn’t right!!! And unless you share, you will have leftovers so I recommend you ask for gravy on the side to begin with so if you take it to go you can enjoy the crispy CFS a second time. Today I brought it home and just made my own country Gravy and it was still good…

I have eaten here a bunch of times. Sometimes my spouse and I or my family of over 10 people. The atmosphere is always nice, sometimes a little loud and the servers all have been attentive even when it's busy. It's roomy and comfortable. The food is very good and the portions are big! You get your money's worth. I always have the Big K and my second is the Chicken fried steak. Both are popular and delicious. You won't be disappointed.

What's unique is everyday they feature different side dishes and highlight different meal options. There was definitely a lot of food and I was only able to eat half of my meal. Holy Moly! The biscuits are massive! My wife and I both got the "Smackin' Good" but we could have just got one, split it, and still left with leftovers.

Ordered a baked potato with country fried chicken breast, NO sour cream. I am still digging sour cream out because I am too tired to drive back. Fortunately, the potato is huge, and I should have a filling portion after my excavation and remediation task is complete.

Always good food, from 5 to 2. The service is so slow, can't get order right, or even clean the tables. Used to love to come and eat here. This will be my last meal until they get there act together.... This tables have been empty for over 20 minutes.......

Came to eat here because it's one of my husband's and I favorite places. It's always been a hometown vibe with good food. Tonight proved otherwise. Found foil in my Lima beans, which things happen, but there was zero inclination to discount anything. They only had enough green beans for one person so I gave my husband my green beans because he wouldn't have gotten his second side. There was no "hey we have these". Nothing to make it right. Mind you they started throwing the food away an hour before closing. They close at 9. My chicken was supposed to be served over rice pilaf. None. I originally wanted meatloaf and I asked the waitress to double check if they had any. She asked another waitress, and then comes back a couple minutes later stating they don't have meatloaf. Ok fine I got something else. Granted everything was good, except the Lima beans. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this Kelleys. The service and attention to detail has grossly declined the last few years.

I was really looking forward to eating at Kelley’s based on the reviews but it was just not for me! I asked for the country boy breakfasts. The egg was just very plain. Sausages were burnt and salty. And pancakes were dry and plain. My plate has been through a lot as it can see from the pictures. The place was stuffy and not very clean. “Hostess” barely acknowledged my presence and from their seat simply told me to go find an open table and continued their conversation.

Have been going there for years and had my first very bad experience. Customer was there with a dog eating at the table. Asked the manager who I found out her name was DANY. She was very rude and walked off while we were talking. If she is what management is going to be I will NEVER step foot in there again.

Haven't been to eat at kelleys in lamarque in a while because it hasn't been that great in the past ,but decided to give it another try .Ordered the shrimp platter & my friend order the fish & shrimp platter for take out since we live 5 minutes away from this place ,got it home to eat & seen they didn't give us any sauces for our food (cocktail & tarter sauce usually comes with it .the roll was hard as a rock ,shrimp was tough & overcooked & fries was under cooked on my dinner, my friends fish & shrimp platter the shrimp was the same she was able to eat her fish thankfully & we both love getting the shrimp from kelleys in the past .but I will not be getting it from the lamarque one again,Especially after spending $50 on 2 dinners & having to go get food elsewhere.

Do not eat here. I can't believe this place is a Kelleys. I gave this location 2 tries each was a horrible experience. The service was horrible. I had to get up 3 different times to get things and the food was cold and had no taste. If you want country cooking go to any other location just not this one.

Seems that some of their products are popular but I can't figure out why. The pancakes are dry, bacon is more like jerky, and the biscuits are soggy on top and dry inside. Ask for the biscuit to be toasted and it will taste like a dirty grill. I asked for butter and got margarine. As it turned out they have real butter on the table, but use the fake in cooking. The gravy is poultry gravy and not the traditional biscuit sausage gravy. Big chunks of some sausage swimming in turkey gravy is not my thing. My egg was good. The waitress didn't try to accommodate but she did whatever we knew to ask without complaining. We didn't know the real butter was hidden on the table when we asked for real butter, she just got a cup of margarine to add to what we had. She tried, she just has little to work with.

This is the 2nd time in 8 months that I've been disappointed. I don't know what's happened to the cook or whatever but the chicken fried chicken didn't have much crunchy batter, hardly any at all. Carrots were over cooked. Green beans had been boiling for to long pushing. Roll was stale. It was on a Sunday. I will not be back to this location EVER AGAIN.

Bought three meals for almost the price of $50 One of the sides was coleslaw. As I get home and feed the family they go ahead and take a bite and say it was sour and it taste awful. For them to serve food they should either smell it or taste it before it goes out. Work in the industry before, and knows how the food industry is very particular but I give it not a five-star rating even though I live in the area I give it a two star not even a two-star a one star.

This has been mine and my 74 year old mother's go to restaurant since I moved to La Marque over two years ago. I don't know what's happened over the last year or so but they have really gone down hill. Maybe new management/employees maybe the economy. The portions have shrunk by almost half. The prices have gone up and the food quality/taste has gone down. The worst part is the lack of customer service. The last 4 or 5 online orders I've placed have either been missing items or had the wrong items or both. When you bring it to the attention of the ladies running the front register and or phones, they are rude and condescending. They claim they check the orders 3 times even though I observed no one rechecking any of the orders going out. The only way to create change is by making changes, therefore my Mom and I will no longer be patroning until this has been addressed.

So first strike was the fried green tomatoes,they were cut too thin and over cooked. Then we ordered their chicken fried bacon. It was barely cooked before it was fried(see photo). Thats sooooo dangerous serving undercooked pork....just sayin... Then the entrees came and it was and a disaster. The chili dog tasted like it was spoiled and the chili was the worst I've ever tasted in my life and im not exaggerating. We left everything there, so disgusting! (See photos)
