love there macaroni salad. good food. prices are up but that's everywhere now.
Delicious Hawaiian bbq food fast friendly customer service definitely I am here at least once a week. Love the loco moco & spam musubi Delicious ;),
Everything here is great tasting. I love all the food, and unless you want to eat something cold and raw from the fridge, you have to have patience, they're not McDonald's that serves you crappy food that's sat out for hours warm and ready to walk out the door. Quality takes a little patience. Always pleasant cashiers ready to great you.
Generous portion sizes and staff is friendly. I think they track your name by your phone number when you call in your order, which is fine with me. The steamed veggies here are better than any other L&L I've been to because they include the Chinese baby corn.
Came in for a small order of Spam Mitsubi. It was well prepared, with a generous amount of seaweed that really enhanced the flavor! Quick service. Tasty-looking menu. Would absolutely come again (and buy a proper meal, next time)
This L&L is a great place to dine in. Their servings are generous. Not unlike some that really gives you a portion. The owner is nice and their servers are very presentable. They know how to follow directions. I always visit this place when I'm in the area. Keep it up!
OK first of all me and my fiancé love the people behind the counter, honestly they succeed in bringing you the best customer service I've ever had. And the food... WOW can't get more authentic and tastefully delicious Hawaiian cuisines.
I work close by and come to this location probably once a week now. The owner is incredibly friendly and the food is excellent. Also great portion sizes, I also got to the L&L in Huntington Beach and the mini plate seems bigger here in Westminster
Garlic shrimp just like off an Oahu shrimp truck--but better! They have the "lighter" option where you get brown rice and a big salad instead of white rice and macaroni salad. You'll never find that at a shrimp truck! The whole meal is only about 270 calories! You get about 8 shrimp, so it's still a decent portion. The shrimp are drenched in garlicky goodness.🍤 Yum!
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ being that I'm from the Hawaiian island I have always tasted different types of foods that comes made fresh by L&L prepared & service. The workers are friendly they greet you with ALOHA welcoming there guests with old hawaiian music playing softly in back ground its a quet clean establishment I love all Of Hawaii's local foods and L&L got almost all the delicious foods. Tammie

Good Hawaiian-style food with flavor from this chain. My location has added options/specials that change weekly like Ube Cheesecake or Thai Tea with boba. The Loco Moco, BBQ chicken & Mac Salad are my favorites.
I took my 7-year-old to try the Musabi & ramen. The young man cashiering was very kind and accommodating. We had a good experience and now I have a new Hawaiian food fan in the family.
Great food and portions! My family's favorites are the Chicken Katsu, BBQ Mix plate and Kalua Pork. Everything is always cooked perfectly. 10/10 would recommend!
I got in contact with the owner she was extremely helpful polite generous and kind.I had them cater our senior community luau of 200 people and it was such a great event and everyone enjoyed the food and even grabbed seconds. I love L&L Hawaiian Bbq and i will order again and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you!

It was a delicious meal of spam, egg & rice. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Gluten free because my tummy started hurting. I didn't ask. They didn't claim. My bad. It was however, super yummy <3!
I had the Mini Katsu (fried pork cutlet) and I thought it was quite good. Even though I had the "mini" it was a huge amount of food.
Not the best restaurant on the planet, but if you want true Hawaiian small town feel with fairly authentic Hawaiian food at a reasonable price then this is probably the best place to go. My favorite by far is the Kalua Pork plate. You can opt for all rice if you're not a fan of macaroni salad though most people like the mac salad. Keep in mind they charge extra for you to use your credit card which is annoying to me though I get why such a small business might do it that way. Overall, the food is very tasty and though it's not something I'd recommend doing on a regular basis, it's a great once every month or two change from your typical food stops.
Open at 10am, 4 people came in wanting to order and 4 people left or felt annoyed waiting around because you guys won't get with the program. Most people are up at 8am, they want to eat before 11.
Very friendly staff. They take care of each customer and make sure all orders are correct. The inside is clean and a comfortable temperature. The food itself is pretty decent. It’s essentially fast food Hawaiian style. You’re not going to get super authentic Hawaiian food, but that’s not the point of this chain.

This food is pretty good. If you are craving something that doesn’t feel too heavy or like fast food this is perfect. Sometimes they may burn the chicken, but that’s on rare occasions. Overall pretty good. I would recommend ordering the regular bbq chicken plate and the spam musubi. Both are pretty good!! Service is pretty quick and they’re very nice.

Ordered a Loco Moco. The food was good, however, at this location they only give a small packet of hot sauce and a small container of ketchup. Also, the way it was served wasn't Hawaiian style...IYKYK.
My food was very mediocre. I gave three stars cuz the macaroni salad was good….they didn’t give me any sauce for my beef. The rice was hard and tasted old.
Now a day with covid-19, all businesses seem to have big impact, but not the way the foods prep. We just bought 7 orders here with the chicken katsu and the meats are either leftovers or way over cook they are so dry and chewy.
It's been ages since I've eaten at L&L Hawaiian BBQ but it's still pretty much the same. Meat + Rice with a side of macaroni salad. I should have told them to hold the macaroni salad because I really despise mayonnaise from a jar. I've made the fresh stuff and I know that what they have back there is jarred. I ordered the mini beef bowl to go because I wasn't sure how much I'd be able to eat there. It was actually the perfect size because I ended up eating it all, except for the macaroni salad. I also grabbed one of the Hawaiian juices from the beverage refrigerator. The meal was fine but I wished that their plastic cutlery were better quality. This stuff was flimsy and could barely cut through the meat. Service was great and the food was cooked to order or reheated. I'm not completely positive but either way, it was fine. The beef was cooked well done and I wished it wasn't. Oh well.
Great if you want a quick meal. The staff is very segregated with the asian managers and the Mexican workers. Seems a bit tense between them. You also have to ask for forks and napkins when you order food. It should be a given.
It so clean public restroom. The food menu it showed red onion but it does not provided red onion. I ordered cheeseburger it too thick white onion but it need to sliced it thinner to taste better than bitter.
I'm not saying it's the biggest disappointment but I am saying ask a local before settling
I used to l9ve this place. I eat here 3-4 times a week. Lately the portions are getting smaller. I paid 16-20$ and the meats portions are not there. I feel like this place has become Chipotle
$12 Stopped in to grab a katsu plate as I always order the same at any Hawaiian foid joint. From islands so I know what to expect. It was crowded with Uver pickup peeps. 7. I figure I had 20min wait. Cook was solo and he knock it out fast. 8min. All those waiting had multiple orders. He was amazingly fast. Tastes normal. Good. Other places put cabbage on bed but none here. Not be expected. I'd call.order in by phone before 15mi. Pickup.

Food was average as expected. Inside was filthy, and I would not recommend dining inside. All the tables were sticky like poorly sanitized as well as sticky floors that could use a good mopping. As a previous restaurant owner, this is disappointing.

Waited and waited for my food. 5 people came in after I did and got their dinners before I did. They said it was my order was too large. Funny we had dinner for 2. One of the people had 3 bags. Will not go back.
Food is ok some coworkers and I go there all the time. Today we asked for hot sauce and the employee said we could only have 1 of the smallest containers per customer and wouldn't even sell me a 2 nd one. The worst part was that the hot sauce was watered down to the point where it was like water, when we all know sriracha is thick. Besides the sauce, the lady was rude when we mentioned that the sauce was watered down. I honestly don't think it is fair paying 20$ for a plate and receiving this type of service.
Looked online pictures of the menu said for mini plate were around $7 when I ordered it was $17 checked the menu picture it was dated 4 years ago. Prices have doubled to that amount. And it's not as good as other locations. Is this an occurrence everywhere?
Loco Moco - bland gravy - bland macaroni salad - lots of rice - not enough gravy - good egg

They charged for Katsu sauce. I've NEVER had a L&L Hawaiian BBQ charge for Katsu before. Shameful
I ordered takeout and I was disappointed with the dry and bland food and rushed service. I've been coming here for more than a decade and it has been a staple for hawaiian food for me. I could always count on good food and good service but this time fell short. I ordered the bbq chicken plate and chicken katsu plate. The bbq chicken was too thin and overcooked therefore it was dry and had a stringy texture. The flavor of the chicken was bland as well. The big jug of teriyaki sauce was the consistency of water and had no flavor! The chicken katsu was also dry and the meat was tough to eat. It just looked like a dry dehydrated chicken with no flavor. The mac salad for crying out loud was the most bland mac salad I've ever had. What was once my favorite Hawaiian spot is now in the trenches. Don't know if I'll come back any time soon.
Was excited to try this place, the masubi had way too much rice with a wafer thin slice of spam, the mauna spicy pork was good but served with rice over rice over rice, the tofu bowl tasted like the tofu was fried in 3 week old dirty oil (inedible) And the poké bowl was warm and just too scary to eat with warm raw tuna... all in all I would not recommend. Will not be returning, wish I could have gotten a refund.

I gave this place 2 tries. You know what? - it sucked twice. Both times I went got such great slow service, and the food is just way over cooked. Like DEAD cooked, then re-heated another few days later. Tasteless, and the price OMG so expensive. My wallet takes a hit as well. The first time I ever went there, they told me they were closed. But the hours said they were supposed to be open for another 15min. Seriously? Guess they had other plans. I keep thinking this place is going to be like other L&L places, wrong. Save your money, go some place else.
The service sucks they take forever. We thought it would just that one time but we been there 3 times and still the same. The food is always over cooked. Because of this place we found other better local Hawaiian food, it's a drive but well worth it.
Lowering my rating from a 5 to a 1. I ordered ahead and some items were missing when they handed it to my friend picking up. I called and they said that they should've grabbed the rest of the order, which was not the case as they were the ones handing things out. I tried to get a refund and the girl said she'd ask her manager. She hung up and I never got my refund. The food was terrible too. Tasted old and soggy af. Never going back to this spot again, food has been consistently sub par.
Chicken Katsu Curry plate is terrible: very little chicken in each piece, breading so sharp it cuts the roof of your mouth, it's bland with a bitter aftertaste, and rock hard once it starts to cool. The rice was way overcooked and gummy. Curry was hideous, bland, ill-textured. Macaroni salad was okay. With a drink, it was over 11 bucks. Extremely dissatisfied. Edit: I most definitely ordered lunch from your location as it is the only one walking distance from my work. I have visited other locations under the same chain and expected a certain quality. I'm confused by your question; are you unable to recall someone ordering that or recall that someone with the name Kingrush Coyote had a registered transaction? Please note that I did not express my displeasure to the staff as I did not expect the situation to be rectified by remaking the food. The cook that made it that way the first time would not have made it better the second time.
Food was over priced and tasted terrible. They over cooked all my meat and the macaroni salad had no flavor. They hardly give you any fish for their sea food plate
Wasn’t going to review until I ended up getting sick. Food was meh, place was hot without any good air conditioning. Ruined my night because now I’m stuck to the toilet.
This L&L location is a ripoff one. Do not go here. A Half & Half plate is $18.75 so $3 more compared to other locations in the area. They also charge $1 if you order Short Rib. Also charge $0.50 for switching steam veggies. Other locations none of these extra charge. When I brought up to employees, they said nothing they can do or answer. All decided by management or owner. So really, this franchise owner just want to rip customer off. L&L is not supposed to be this ridiculously expensive. At least, the employee is very helpful and attentive to my complaint. I revised it to 5 star of service. Cashier man called the manager to help me with the full refund. I couldn't even finish their bad-quality food plus tolerating the ripoff. Kudos to employee team, and sorry for being a pain to make a point to the greedy managements. I will take next step to report to the actual L&L corporation Go to the one in Anaheim or Fullerton or do not recommend go here.

So disappointed. Chicken katsu no sauce , difficult ordering over phone . My whole order cost over $40 n had no utensils , napkins n no katsu sauce. Katsu was over cooked and spam saimin broth was tasteless 😡
Stopped at this Land L on the way home from the beach. We were starving. We placed our order and tried to change it about 2 minutes later. The chef was a jerk and said it was too late even though it was obvious nothing was cooking yet. What was even worse, though, was the food. I ordered the fried shrimp and fish seafood plate with a side of beef. The shrimp was fair, the fish was soggy and tasteless, the beef was so salty (and I love salt) that it was inedible. The macaroni salad tasted off like it had gone bad. Didn't eat it. The tartar sauce for the fish is nasty. My d-i-l had the garlic shrimp and the short ribs. The garlic shrimp was okay, but they only gave 4 mall pieces of shrimp and 2 short ribs for $18.00. The short ribs were tough, dry and waaaay too salty. My son had the chicken katsu which tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. His barbecue chicken was okay. It was a little dry, but okay. We also got 4 spam musubis which were okay. We paid $75.00 (no drinks) for 3 mostly inedible dinners. Beyond disappointed, particularly because the L and L in Irvine has always been good. Eat here at your own risk!
Ordered a pork, no cabbage got maybe 3oz or less of. What a rip-off the one down in Orange County, twice as much....Dr.cool
My family has been going to this location since it opened. The staff was friendly. As I ordered I watched the cook take food that was precooked and reheat it on the grill. He then threw it in boxes and handed it to the cashier. In retrospect I should have stopped right there and refused the order. But I didn't. My wife and drove home and started eating. The food was terrible. I take partial blame for excepting the food. After how bad it was we will not return. Precooked reheated food...not good.
