Kiku Sushi and Vegetarian

Kiku has the best fish selection and sushi in the area. I am so happy they now have a location closer to me in Lafayette. We have been visiting their location in Berkeley for years and the same chefs and even coming to this location. The uni, ocean trout, maguro are all amazing, not to mention their appetizers like the black cod and hamachi crudo. The rolls here are traditional and also amazing, especially the spicy scallop hand roll. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves fresh fish and vegetables. This is my favorite traditional Japanese place in the area, not a place for rolls. They have a whole vegan menu that includes one of my favorite things, the soba salad. Give this place a try if you have not.

Went to lunch with my family there today and it was great! The lunch food was amazing I got the chicken teriyaki bento box. The service was amazing as well. It is a bit pricey but I think you really get your bang for your buck with this place. At least for the lunch menu! If you are around Lafayette I would 100% recommend stopping by!

This place is amazing! I love fish, and my wife is vegetarian, and this place managed to have plenty of options that tasted great for both of us, which is an extremely rare occurrence! Usually if a restaurant has a bunch of vegetarian options, their meat options are not great, but this place is an exception. Every piece of fish I had here was fantastic!

Hidden Gem in Laffeyte town! The sushi and rolls are really fresh! okra and veggie tempera are nice but the tonkatsu was a bit dry 🥲 thanks for the birthday cake!

Excellent quality Japanese dishes, with an emphasis on vegeterian options but not only. Sushi of course but also noodles, interesting salads, udon, donburi, teriyaki, katsu... The dine-in options are visibly superior to the take-out, from my small sample size. They put a lot of effort in the plating and that doesn't really translate into a take-out box. Outside space is limited but inside is spacious and nicely put together.

The host was nice enough to allow me slightly after closing, when their sign was forgotten “open” but I appreciated their welcoming nature. It looks like a family business so the family atmosphere was welcomed as I have been away from home in a while. Food was very tasty and looked appetizing. Thank You.

If you are looking for vegan / vegetarian Japanese food, this is the spot. The vegan menu is extensive, including 10+ maki rolls. The waitress recommended the vegan Green Dragon maki roll and it was amazing. The vegan tofu stuffed mushrooms and dipping Udon were 10/10, too. Definitely will be returning and recommending to others.

Excellent Japanese restaurant; very authentic sushi! Food I had: okra tempura, 7 pcs sushi, soba salad. * 7 pcs sushi: excellent! Both fish and rice are at the right temperature (slightly warm). Wasabi here is awesome: fresh and not too spicy. They told me their wasabi is homemade. * soba salad: It's the first time I saw soba combined with lots of veggies and made it a salad. But it's not bad at all! It's vegetarian and healthy. I like that they included Japanese pickled vegetables in this dish besides other western vegetables.

Kiki Sushi was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in ages. My friend has Celiac’s Disease, so I called ahead to verify their food prep practices & allergens. They were super helpful over the phone, even though I forgot and called during dinner rush. Everything seemed great, and when we arrived they had already had notes for our table & vetted every single thing on the table to ensure my friend was safely able to eat. Not only was the food safe and prepared fully gluten-free, but it may have been the best sushi I’ve ever had. And I LOVE sushi!! We also had veggie tempura and it was wasn’t overly battered or greasy, which seems common every other place I’ve been. The waiter was amazing, our drinks stayed full throughout the meal with the help of another gal on the floor, and we thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of Kiki Sushi. Thank you for an amazing evening out!

The owner of the restaurant also dropped off a complimentary appetizer (mushrooms) and dessert (chocolate ice cream). Overall, fantastic hospitality and very good fish. We will be back!

Quite possibly the best California roll I've ever had! This is a hidden gem in Lafayette for sure. Warm, welcoming, and delicious! I came around 530 pm and got prompt service.

Yes there are many vegetarian and vegan options but there’s a mismatch between the price and portions. I found it very pricey and honestly the taste had no element that stood out, just basic.

I’m surprised this place is rated so highly. The food took a while to come and it was expensive which I know is normal for a sushi restaurant, but the thing is it wasn’t even that good.
