A lovely Chinese restaurant in Lake Forest. It’s Yunnan cuisine which is like southern China. Their noodles are very good. The noodle portion is very large; for $15 a bowl, it can feed three of me. The servers are friendly. We ordered the meat wrap, which the server told us later that it’s the most popular amongst non-Chinese customers. We laughed so much because that’s our favorite dish. Nice atmosphere.
Authentic Sichuan cuisine 👍🏻 Love it 🤤 Strongly recommend this place if you like spicy food. They also have a number of great non spicy dishes. Do try their cold dishes too. Don’t forget to get a complimentary dessert for yourself😋 Recommended to go during off lunch hour or off dinner hour. Otherwise you will have to wait in line.
Good value with great service. All the things we ordered hit the spot. The restaurant is clean and would recommend to everyone who is looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine in the area! Don’t miss their counter featuring various side dishes (the shredded potatoes and sliced oyster mushrooms are personal favorites).
This is by far the best Yunnan rice noodle restaurant I’ve tried in North America including over 15 years living in Toronto, the capital of Chinese cuisine oversea. We ordered #1 and #9 noodle. The presentation and taste of #1 is great. My daughter is not very into spicy food and has been a picky eater. She loves #9 and finished it all. The pork kidney is also cooked at perfect time and temperature. Very juicy and tender. The knife skill to cut the kidney is top notch that you rarely see outside of China. It definitely helps to make it a beautiful and tasty dish. The portion of the cold fish appetizer is amazing. Well worth the money.
We had lunch here the other day. There is a lot of parking available. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting with plenty of seating inside. We started with the fried rice cakes. The mochi-like rice cakescmixed eith black bean sauce, assorted vegetables and different types of meat was so delicious. Next, we had the Xiao Long Bao. The dumplings were thin and packed with soup and filling. So good. We then had the crossing-the-bridge rice noodles. The rich and creamy broth along with the thick rice noodles and an assortment of vegetables and meat made for a comforting dish. The braised pork with buns was Next. The melt in your mouth pork belly and the warm and sweet buns were perfect I could have eaten this all by myself. And to top it off, we got the smoked duck. Smoked to perfection, another dish I could have eaten all by myself. Wonderful food and a friendly staff will make this your go to place for Chinese comfort food.
Clean restaurant, yummy food especial the yunnan noodles, awesome experience in here, the waiters were also very friendly, they got what you want before you asked. Definitely will come again!
5-STARS because not only is the food tasty, it is priced reasonably and the workers are much more friendly and service-oriented than most Chinese restaurants. The first time I walked in, one worker was enthusiastic about providing me samples of the vegetable cold side dishes. This is the best Chinese Yunnan cuisine I've ever had. I will be returning here as much as I can! I only wish I could make friends with some Chinese folks to try out more of the menu family style. Unfortunately I cannot find any Americans who are interested in eating here with me because they don't want to explore outside the non-General Tso's kind of "Chinese-American" food.
The food (Yunnan “bridge crossing” noodles etc.) was impressively delicious and the price was surprisingly reasonable. We had a great time and will definitely go back again, hopefully soon.
This new restaurant located in a busy plaza near freeway 5. On the first day of the restaurant, the waiters were busy so no one came to change the plates or refill the water, but that's not usually a Chinese restaurant's specialty. We order many dishes as pictures shows and all of us are satisfied with food. The Yunnan noodle soup is the signature dish and must try. Overall the waiters were friendly, the food was served quickly and of good quality, and the owner came by to serve sometimes, so good wish to a new restaurant.
this is good yunan and sichuan food, rice noodles and spicy dishes are delicious.
First of all, the meal is delicious and genuine. I particularly like the assortment of cold appetizers available for perusal and selection at the counter. They use a lot of beef, and I think the beef noodle is above average. Servers are pleasant. I intend to visit frequently in the near future.
I love this place and have been coming ever since they opened. Their food is pretty good, and if you like strong flavor, I think you will like this place! I came here with my friends and family. All of them liked the food they ordered. I recently moved nearby here, and have been ordering takeout more often. We did dine in before, too. Their service was friendly and helpful! I think their service is better than many Chinese restaurants in OC.
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in SoCal! Classic food, great taste and service, plus reasonable price, makes it on my top list. Worth revisiting.
First of all, the food is good and authentic. I especially liked all the cold appetizers at the counter that you can look at and pick out. The beef noodle is above average, I’d say, and they’re generous with the beef. Servers are nice. I hope to be returning soon and often.
I was starved on my way home, wanted to eat and I found this place. I’ve got curious with their food. I ordered 3 different food that were good for 3 people. The served time was too long and not all the staff could communicate very well. I requested for spoon and fork, they given me serving silverware instead. But the lady that assisted me was very nice. She offered free dessert and even packed my to go box for me. Overall the food was delicious. Probably, I’m going back to try other meals.
Waiting time is pretty long on a long weekend afternoon around 2:00pm. Like the fish is really fresh. The rice noodle is ok but not amazing. Will try other dish next time.
Third time eating at this restaurant — love their food. But today I noticed something sneaky: their suggested tip is calculated after tax. So basically, they want me to tip on the tax too 😂. Sure, it’s only a dollar or two, but hey — honesty shouldn’t be taxed, right? So I did my own math, tipped 18% before tax, and called it a day.
Maybe it’s better in the shop, but this is the saddest bowl of 20 dollar rice noodle I have seen.
We walked in the restaurant to a piece of paper in which to write our name down. No greeting at all by anyone. There were tables empty but dirty and just as the wife and I were about to leave a young man with some English took us to a table. He gave us the menu, plates room temperature water yet no communication at all. We did not find the menu to be that easy to understand even with some pictures. We ordered items under there American favorites and I’m sorry to say I have had better fast food Orange Chicken. I wish them the best but we will not be returning. The only time we were communicated with was for the check and the fact that we were leaving so we heard goodbye!!
Filthy staff didn’t wash their hands after the bathroom and gave us attitude when we told them to please mind their personal hygiene
