Hidden gem for Thai food. The quiet and nondescript building doesn't bear witness to the quality of food served. Very genuine food and polite servers who aim to please. We shared the Pad See-Ew with Pork and Yellow Curry with Chicken and rice. We also ordered the rare Mango Sticky Rice. This is highly recommended but save room for dessert. The meals are hearty and the mango and sticky rice are plentious. Service is excellent and helpful. The atmosphere is very authentic with the ongoing elephant theme throughout.
This place is amazing! The food is fantastic, service is great, and the atmosphere is pleasant and cute! This is probably one of the most authentic Thai places I have be to in OC. Love the decor and elephants everywhere. Highly recommended! Lunch special is great deal!
overall, our experience was very good! The food was delicious. The Waiter was really nice. I was willing to accommodate us outside, while we were the only ones. she was more than helpful in explaining the different chilies that they offered with the meal. We had the drunken noodles With the meat combination, and the proteins were very tender! The noodles had a nice bite to them, but very soft, and it was very aromatic with the Thai basil. We also had the Thai fried rice with shrimp, and the flavor was delicious. We also got the Thai milk, tea and the crunchy pork belly, and both items were delicious. The thai tea was sweet and creamy, and the pork belly was delicious with the sauce that was provided and the assortment of chilies the restaurant provides. overall, this will be the first place I would come eat at whenever I come back to Lake Forest!
Great spot! The pad thai was very reminiscent of a dish you would get in Thailand. This has been one of my favorite spots in the Lake Forest area- when I go back I’ll try some other dishes!
Excellent service and excellent food. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the cream cheese wontons or the eggrolls, but the main dishes were flavorful and great. Their medium spicy is Thai medium, so be cautious if you can’t handle spicy foods. The crab fried rice and Pas Kee Mao were wonderful.
I came here with my wife for her birthday since she really loves Thai food. This is hands down the best Thai food restaurant that we have been to so far and trust me we've been to a lot. Their vegetables were fresh and cooked well, the tofu tasted amazing. My favorite was definitely the fish cakes, definitely the best fish cakes I have ever had and each bite was an amazing rush of flavor. I think I spent our whole meal complimenting them. Our food came out hot and it came out fast, waitress was extremely helpful and always smiling. The atmosphere was friendly and I loved that they had videos of the chefs cooking their rice and different pad thai dishes playing. All in all it was an amazing experience that made my wife's birthday trip even more amazing for her.
Hands down! This restaurant has the best and most authentic Thai Food in South OC! We used to have to drive to LA to get authentic Thai food. No more! We can get them here! Yay!
This is the BEST Thai Restaurant in Orange County, CA. Food is TASTY,MOUTH WATERING AND YUMMY 😋. There is no comparison... The lunch specials are EXCELLENT, Monday thru Friday with an unbeatable price. Look at the menu for lunch specials. This is now one of my Favorite places ❤️. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 👌
First time here. Been wanting to try this place every time I pass by. The inside was decorated nicely but we opted to sit outside because of our dog. The menu had different rice/noodle/soup dishes as well as lunch specials. The noodles we ordered were tasty and the service was also great. The hot sauces that were brought to us came in cute containers and had different hot sauces in them that went well with the noodles. Pad Kee Mao - fresh noodles, not too salty or too sweet, I ordered with pork. My top choice here. Pad See Ew - my safe choice at Thai restaurants. It was good but slightly salty and sweet. Thai iced tea- not bad and reasonablely priced. Lastly the patio we sat at was lovely, and the waiter even brought water for my dog. Would come back again and try other dishes on the menu.

Absolutely delicious and at such a fair price! The ambience is also great. For sure #1 Thai restaurant in Lake Forest

Great food with a reasonable price. There is a reason this place has been around as long as it has. Wait staff is friendly, portions are large and the cost is reasonable. Our kids love the noodles. Wife loves the Crying Tiger.

Elephant Cafe checked all the boxes for me. The food is delicious and the service is impressively fast without feeling rushed. I particularly loved the cream cheese wontons (perfectly crispy!) and the sticky rice with coconut sauce. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff makes you feel right at home. Plus, plenty of free parking in the lot!
The spicy eggplant and tofu was so perfect that for the first time in the 20 years that I’ve been eating Thai food I didn’t add any condiments at the table. Boom. And something as simple as the mixed vegetables tom yum could be such a write off other places - but here it’s craveable. Chock full of vegetables, spicy, sour, perfect. The one less than bright spot was the Pad Thai which was mostly noodles and had very little egg or scallions and very little tamarind or dried shrimp flavor. That being said, the tofu was cooked beautifully and was served in a massive portion. Service is wonderful. Prices are great. Would return to keep trying more of the menu.
Ate here while visiting the area. Tasty food and plenty of it. Space was decorated very authentically. Would recommend for to anyone looking for an authentic tasty Thai experience.
This is one hundred percent one of the best places to get Thai food in this area. Their flavors are really close to the ones in Thailand. Their penang curry for example is flavorful and is creamy while not being greasy. Their golden triangle is a must try with perfectly chewy fried chicken paste topped with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Their dessert also contains a variety of items, my favorite being mango sticky rice and their fried banana with ice cream.
Every dish was packed with authentic Thai flavor. The som tam, green curry, and pad thai were all incredible!

Very good Thai! We had chicken skewers with peanuts sauce, which were okay. The tom kha with shrimp was impeccable, though. Just perfect flavor. Finally, the pad woon sen with beef was very tasty. The interior is pleasant and the staff was very friendly. In general, this seems like a solid option for Thai food in South Orange County.

The lunch specials are pretty good. It comes with soup and a salad. The soup is interesting it was very sour. I got the Thai red curry and it was a little too sweet for my liking. The place has a fishy smell and the air conditioner wasn't off. The service was pretty good.
Ordered 3 dishes and an app. The kraken pow was amazing, the fries rice was average at best, and the rad nah was not good and had no flavor. The Golden triangles app was good. Peanut sauce was really smooth, had separated, was sweet with no spiciness. Possibly a revisit but not likely. The waiter was very friendly and honestly the only reason this rating is a 3 instead of a 2.

It was OK. The Tom Kha soup wasn't like the Thai place where I lived in Hawaii. The flavors hadn't melded, and there was no finesse in the vegetables and tofu being cut in large chunks. The mushrooms in Hawaii were more exotic, not white plain mushrooms from Albertsons, like here. See photo. They were kind enough to let me order something else, and I got the green curry. It was OK. Not as good as other places. My husband has to have More bland food and he thought the pad Thai was good. Like most Thai places, they can accommodate celiacs and gluten free diners.
Pad thai was good but the Pad see ew was bland and dry. I usually go to Diho Siam and tried Elephant Cafe for the first time. Maybe Elephant Cafe's chef was having a bad day?
I so much wanted to like the restaurant but it misses on my aspects; No go for pick up: they give wrong orders over the phone, missing noodles here and hot liquid in plastic bin. Not healthy Chicken is very dry, I have chew a lot even though it’s thin cut and dipped in sauce. Couldn’t eat the chicken at all especially with boiling sauce, very disappointed I had dine in here which is much better than taking out, so totally not recommend for taking out.

⭐️⭐️ (2 out of 5) I was craving Thai food and happened to be driving through Lake Forest on El Toro, so I decided to try Elephant Cafe. I called in my order and was very specific. I ordered Pad See Ew and asked for the noodles to be burnt/charred, the way they’re often done at Thai street markets, and requested medium spice. The person who took my order said she understood what I meant. I also ordered the Panang Curry. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. The Pad See Ew noodles weren’t burnt or charred at all, despite the explanation and confirmation, and there was no hint of spiciness even though I had requested medium (which was also repeated back to me on the phone). I opted out of the carrots and American broccoli because they aren’t traditional in Pad See Ew and they change the taste of the dish. I asked for bean sprouts instead, which made better sense to me. That part was fine, but overall the dish still lacked the depth and flavor I was expecting. I wasn’t thrilled with the Panang Curry either. It was edible, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. Overall, the food was disappointing and didn’t stand out enough for me to want to return. This review is based on my personal taste and preference, especially from a more traditional Thai food perspective.
