One bite everyone knows the rules Solid undercarriage, not too salty or heavy. Minimal flop and the cheese on top of pepperoni kept it from burning on the ends. Outstanding pie and hospitable staff. Only negative is I wish they opened earlier.

I called 5 restaurants in the Lake Placid area after the Solar Eclipse on Monday April 8, 2024 Mr. Mike's was the only place accepting Take Out orders. Ordered 2 Calzones and 2 pizzas. After receiving the pizzas, we noticed 1 was incorrect. After checking our order they confirmed it was their error. They made a new pizza, and put in the oven immediately to speed it up. The pizzas were delicious. No wonder they are Lake Placid's Favorite Pizza shop

I wish I had a picture but it smelled so good I couldn’t wait to eat it, so sorry no pic. I have celiac disease and have to be so careful about everything I eat. The owner or the man cooking the pizza talked to us and got everything perfect! BEST PIZZA I’ve had to date! My husband said his pizza was a 10 out of 10. The sauce was amazing and he was so careful with my pizza. Thank you for everything! You made our evening.

Recommended by the management at KOA, we stopped into Mr Mike's for an early dinner. Really just wanted to get pizza and salad, although the menu had some tantalizing Italian options! No one was there eating yet, but we were greeted, seated, and treated to one of the best pizzas ever!! At least a top five ranking! The Cesar salad dressing was made on site and very good. Enjoyed delightful conversation and comfortable ambience.

We had a family dinner here for my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday last night. David, the owner, and his staff did an incredible job making sure all the details I wanted were done and any new requests were handled on the spot. We did a family style dinner with salads and pasta dishes and desserts and every item was delicious and fresh. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others who are looking to do a group dinner. Thank you again David for a wonderful meal and pleasant planning experience from the moment we met, you and your business are doing all the right things!

Pizza was great, the sauce was tasty and the pepperoni was flavorful. The price was as expected and will not break the bank for a pizza. The waitress was very kind and attentive to customers. I am very surprised at all of the one star reviews. I have not had any bad incidents while eating here.

To begin with, the owner is a sweetheart. An absolute joy to speak to while I waited for my delicious pie. Great food made by people who care. A must stop in Lake Placid!

I'll admit, having grown up with Mr. Mike's pizza & few others as a child, I'm a bit biased toward it. But I was just home to visit my father in hospice care. He hadn't eaten anything solid in several days when we arrived. My husband and I got a meatball pizza for dinner Sunday night and brought it back to my parents home to eat. My father woke up an hour or so later (the first since early morning that was for more than a bathroom visit) and asked what we'd done all day. After listing the chores we'd accomplished we mentioned we'd picked up a Mr. Mike's pizza for dinner. He asked what kind, then if we had any left. He then proceeded to get out of bed and scoot down the hall of their ranch house to the table faster than honestly safe (he almost ran over his oxygen tube, then nearly left it behind) to the dining room table at the far end of the house. Where he powered down a slice from a Large pizza with red pepper flakes added in the largest bites I've ever seen him take. I can't say better than that for any food.

Food is always great. Prices are reasonable. Service is excellent. We eat there whenever we are in Lake Placid. In the spring we bring our Girls basketball team to Placid for a tournament and have a team dinner there for the last 2 years and will continue.

Mr Mike's is good relaxed pizza and more restaurant. I had a super fresh spinach salad and alfredo. My friend had the Chicken Marsala and she said it was delicious. Dave Nichola ,the owner, always friendly and was our server! A great dinner.

I've been going to Mr Mike's for years and I have never been disappointed. The food is great, especially the spaghetti and meatballs. The owner and employee's do a great job of making you feel welcome. Would highly recommend whenever you have the pleasure of going to the Adirondacks.

Always a favorite when we come to town! Table for 20+, multiple generations! Love it!! When we were kids we would chat Mr Mikes on our way down from our hikes. Just brought my daughters for the first time, as wonderful as always! Hope it continues for years to come!

Best quality continental fare (much more than just great pizza) for 40 years visiting from New Jersey. Fresh salads, hot dinners, warm friendly service and value consistently a cut above due to on-site family management.

Ordered takeout for a large event. The food was ready right on time and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming, helping me load the car with total professionalism. And the 5 stars of course wouldn't come without taste. The pizzas and salads were a big hit, with the chicken pizza being the runaway favorite. Thank you Mr. Mike and team! We'll be back!!

Absolutely delicious! The pizza was mouthwatering with excellent sauce and flavor. We ordered two large pizzas and two salads—plenty of food for six people! Generous portions, friendly staff, and great service. We ordered takeout directly from the restaurant and will definitely be back! 🍕🥗👏

Grilled Chicken Pizza was amazing crust was just crunchy enough. We added Broccoli to it which was the cheery on top if I had to nit pick we could have used alittle more grilled chicken pieces on the pizza. We also got the Spaghetti and Meatballs very good. Great portion size. Are waitress was spot on filled are drink continuously and check on us numerous times!

This was our first time going to Mr Mikes! We called for pick up.. the woman who picked up was very friendly and helpful. When I got there I was greeted with a very warm welcome.. my food was ready to go. Both the man and woman working were extremely nice. As far as the food went- the pizza was delicious! We loved it. We will definitely be back next time we visit Lake Placid. Kindness goes very far these days and the food being delicious on top of that made the experience even better. Definitely check them out!

Mr. Mike's Pizza is the "salt of the earth" Lake Placid dining experience. A beautiful restaurant with a long history. David is continuing the family legacy by cooking up some incredible pizzas and providing a cozy family atmosphere. Always great pizza. Not fond of the wide open dinning room but once the pizza comes out the world is good. Clean establishment, with decent pricing considering its in Lake Placid. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Feel warm in Christmas evening. Owner hosts Christmas community lunch for free. Good pizza and pasta, my kids loves it a lot. When we wanted to purchase again at Christmas Eve, we have free food as Christmas prizes. OMG! Thanks Jesus, thank you Owner! I will bring lots of Montreal bagels for you next time. Happy new year.

This old school pizza place is no frills. But, they focus on the food and really do a wonderful job. Don't be deterred by the somewhat bare dining area. The vegetarian pizza was phenomenal and cooked perfectly with a great chewy crust. The spinach salad for $7 is an absolute steal. Tall wine pours too. If you are more into the scene of Lake Placid and dropping twice as much elsewhere, go for it. But, if you want a great family ran place with quality and priced right, then this is the place!

We visited Lake Placid with our toddlers for the Memorial Day weekend and found Mr. Mike’s pizza. We ordered vegetarian pizzas and garlic bread. They were tasty and hit right. The pizza was really good, the crust, sauce and cheese were perfect. It was pliable and the cheese didn’t come off the pizza. The owner is friendly and gave my 18 month old pizza dough for playing. He also personally came to send us off. Zack is very kind, super friendly and provided wonderful service. He gave the kids toys to play with while waiting for our pizzas to arrive and we (including the kids) enjoyed chatting with him. Not only the kids were busy and off screens, they ate the pizza and our picky eaters loved it. My 4 year old asked if we could go have pizza at Mr. Mike’s pizza the next evening, of course we did. We went there twice in a row and would visit here when we come to Lake Placid again. Lastly, the place is huge with lots booth, tables and chairs very spread out. Good vegetarian options, great service, tasty pizza and friendly/ kind hearted people. It is the best place to go with kids for a casual dining. Do yourself a favor!

Hands down, Mr. Mikes is the best place for pizza in Lake Placid. We've been coming to the village over the years and have had the chance to sample a lot of the restaurants. If you're in the mood for pizza, Mr. Mikes is the place to go. Their pizza dough is made fresh daily and the open-kitchen lets you see them make your dinner in front of you. The quality and consistency of their pizzas are both off the charts. As others have noted, they nail the dough to sauce to cheese to toppings ratio and always serve em hot. Their salads and chicken parmesan are also quite good. Service has always been friendly and attentive, even when the place was quite busy with teams visiting and what not. Prices are very reasonable, and they have a lot of space to accommodate large groups. Cannot recommend Mr. Mikes enough to anyone visiting Lake Placid!!

When our young child took his first bite of pizza, he yelled across the restaurant, “DELICIOUS!” His young sister tried her pasta and meatballs and said the same thing. Congratulations to this family-friendly restaurant on nearly 50 years in Lake Placid.

David and the team at Mr. Mike’s Pizza took exceptional care of our young hockey team on very short notice! We decided to stay in for the evening and were hoping to arrange a pasta dinner, and David made it happen with only 2–3 hours’ notice. They easily fed our group of 20 adults and 20 kids (ages 4–11), and everyone left full and happy. Because the experience was so great, we ordered from Mr. Mike’s again the next night—15 pizzas prepared with just two hours’ notice. Once again, lots of full and happy bellies! Beyond the food and service, David made the experience even more memorable by sharing stories about Potsdam, Madrid, and many north country areas —places and families many of us had connections to over the years. It felt like talking with an old friend. If you’re considering eating here, don’t hesitate. Great food, great service, and even better people!

We visit Mr. Mike's everytime we come up to Lake Placid. My father introduced it to me 40 years ago and I've been coming ever since. It's a favorite for me and my family after a day in the mountains. You'll surely come to love it as much as we do. The owner and his staff are warm & inviting and the pizza never disappoints. A simply outstanding restaurant.

A favorite since the I was a little girl. My parents would treat us to their special white pizza with broccoli sitting in a booth in front of their pizza ovens and a pitcher of whatever soda or lemonade we wanted. Make or continue to make memories here with your family at this great family run restaurant. Great takeout or to eat in!! I had a custom mushroom and broccoli pizza with red sauce. Vegetables were very fresh and sauce made from scratch. Authentic Italian! 🇮🇹

Even though they were pretty much closed for the night, David made us a pizza to go and talked to us about Potsdam, Albany, Voorheesville , my son’s schools … even world renowned Crane SoM alums. Simply a fun, easy conversation while the pizza was being made. The pizza itself was hot and delicious on a cold winter night. I’m glad we stopped by and thankful that David was so accommodating! This was a take-out order - salads (with chicken) and large pizza with multiple toppings. Ready on-time, nice service at counter, and very reasonable prices. Grilled chicken on the salad was cooked just right - many places over-do it. And the pizza was excellent, great crust. We could not finish it and left a few slices for breakfast the next day. Will return when we come back to Lake Placid. (Note: it is a large place and parking was very easy as it is just outside the busier downtown section.)

STILL THE BEST PIZZA 🍕 ON THE PLANET! Full disclosure: I've been coming here since 1985 when I was just a kid, so I may be a bit biased. ☺️ That said, Mr. Mike's has always been THE go-to pizza place for birthdays, lunches, dinners, reunions, graduations, and any other celebration out there. Recently, I had a friends and family reunion there and David, Sarina, and Ella all welcomed us like family. It was a wonderful time! My personal favorite is the white pizza. It is simply the best I've ever had. It doesn't even need toppings. In the summer of '94, my buddy and I ordered one, with extra garlic, EVERY day for lunch while working our little job on Main Street. The best! No regrets! And even though I live on the other side of the country now, Mr. Mike's is still the first place I go whenever I'm back in Lake Placid. So, next time you come to town, stop by Mr. Mike's and say hi to David. You'll be glad you did.

Fantastic! Haven't been to Lake Placid in about 15 years. Ordered a large pepperoni and the pizza is wonderful. It's perfectly cooked, flavorful and the pepperoni under the cheese ensures that it stays in place when you take a bite. The owner is super friendly and checked me out himself. The place is huge, with dozens of tables. I hope Mr. Mike's is full to the brim with customers during the 'on' season, as he deserves it for the wonderful food and service.

Fantastically friendly staff and satisfying pizza. We ordered takeout and the pizza was ready in 50 minutes. When we arrived to pick it up, the staff opened the boxes to double check that they were true to the order. The pizza itself was perfectly balanced with sauce, cheese, and a fully crust. It could have used a few more toppings but at that point I would just be searching for criticism. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Mr Mike’s. Thanks for the great experience!

The best pizza and Mediterranean salads! I have been visiting the Lake Placid area for 35 years and have been going to Mr. Mike's every time I'm in the area. Their pizza is to die for-perfect sauce, cheese, crust and toppings ratio. The crust is perfect - thin but not paper thin and not overly thick so that it overwhelms the rest of the pizza. Now the Mediterranean salads - the dressing is the best salad dressing I've ever had. It is SO good that I will get random cravings for it which is unfortunate as I have not been able to replicate it with store bought or homemade dressing. The romaine is also fresh and the feta, tomatoes and kalamata olives generous. When I was a kid I remember being allowed by the chef to come back and sample the pizza dough - I've held that memory my whole life and it speaks to the wonderful environment and friendliness of the staff. We spoke to Dave on our latest visit who notice my platelet donor hat and shared his donation experience with me. Thank you Dave. If you are craving a pizza night while in Lake Placid, this is must visit.

We got our appetizers fast and didn't have to wait very long for our food. The food is very good here but the service sucks. Our waiter gave our food and didn't come back to check on us. The glasses of coke were tiny and full of ice so obviously drank it pretty fast. I would say they were like a kids cup... I Had to wave down another waitress who walked by three times to get a refill. Then ran out again and had to get up from the table to get the glasses to someone to refill. When he came back asked for the check and another refill.... Then when he came back he had a normal glass full... Could have started with that one.,.. Don't come for the service, better off getting it to go. The pizza however is really really good

Good pizza. It was rather dead when we were there but the place is huge and setup for large parties. The kitchen also seemed really large with lots of ovens could feed a lot of people fast. They didn't have a few things when i asked and for some reason they don't have salad dressings. Like to tip my Pizza in Blu cheese at times. But overall good place my cannoli was OK not the best i have had but not the worse. Would recommend for pizza.

Excellent place to stop after hiking in the Adirondacks. We were impressed by the Cesar salade anchovy dressing, very tasty and refreshing. The pizza itself was a real treat. The crust was just the right balance of crispy and chewy, and the toppings were generously applied. The service was rapid and the food was pretty cheap. It was exactly what we needed to refuel and satisfy our hunger.

Service was fast and friendly. Really nice crew. Spacious seating (it wasn’t busy but I liked the layout) and you can choose between tables or booths. Food was great and fresh. For pizza not made in Brooklyn, it was really good. I’d come here often if I lived in the area.

There is a big eating area and the kitchen is opened so you can see what is going on. When I arrive, the hostess was in plain street clothes, the waitress (who did seem nice) was also in what seemed to be everyday clothes. There was a 'chef' or pizza maker texting right out in the open which was tacky. The pricing isn't all the bad and the food was decent. It's a good family place that's better than a Pizza Hut like place.

Spent birthday in Lake placid and went to mike's too late, they were almost closing. Huge place to sit and eat, but when we went, they didn't have all the beers and few options for pizzas. Might try them again during day visit, I have heard good things abiut it but we did not have good experience.

Decent pie, good and friendly service, convenient location and pizza was ready on time. Expensive, but we're in a resort town, so...I'd be happy to order here again.

I visited Mr. Mike’s twice. This was after Thanksgiving but before the area’s winter rush. The restaurant was completely empty. I ordered my food to go (pizza and salad). The food was good. No complaints. The prices were fair. Just something of note for anyone visiting Lake Placid, some of the businesses prefer cash and will give a discount for using cash or charge the swipe fee. Mr. Mike’s charges $1.00 for using cards. They don’t say upfront.

Service was good, my pick up order was ready when I was told it would be. Caesar salad was underwhelming, just romaine lettuce sprinkled with the kind of sprinkled parmesan you put on pizza served with anchovy-heavy dressing on the side and lemon wedges. No croutons. Pizza was ok, though the one I got with pepperoni had not very many of them and they were under the cheese so at first I wasn't sure there were any at all.

Decent independent pizza joint. The pizza is good and ingredients are quality. Good enough for a quick slice. The breadsticks had decent flavor but no marinara provided in our to go order. 3/5 would recommend.

The wait staff were super nice and gratuitous. The food was filling and the portions were big, but I'm sorry to say it didn't stand out. Granted, I was only there once, but with a staff that nice, I'd give it another try. They may have signature dishes we didn't partake in.

The pizza was good, the place was spacious. The service was horrible, we were missing several dishes, food was brought out some cold, some burnt. The calamari was inedible, the chicken parm was worse. The place was almost empty when we ordered, but the waitress told us the problems were because they were so busy. Shame because there was so much potential.

I went with my husband for dinner and we wanted pasta but it was out of the menu. So instead, we ordered mozzarella sticks, spinach salad and pizza. The mozarella sticks were good however the pizza didn't have enough toppings as we would have expected. Overall it was OK.

Awful. Pizza barely better than store bought. Wait staff's rudeness was only exceeded by its incompetence. While we generally found most of the service support in Lake Placid poor, Mr Mike's exceed the nadir of a damn low bar. Some people are too stupid and rude to do business with.

Just ordered a margarita and Caesar salad to go. Pizza was terrible, basically cheesy bread. I’ve had better at Stewart’s. Salad was inedible. Greens were just torn my hand and thrown in a box. Very disappointed for such a great town.

This place is horrid, from the (non) service to the sub par meals. Unskilled waiter brought us stone cold bread only when our meal was served and didn't once stop by to ask how our meal was. Well, it was terrible: lasagna overpriced with only cheese and noodles and two pieces of meat; ravioli Alfredo with a tasteless sauce - cream with no cheese. We were from out of town and led here after failing to get in to two other restaurants that had a one - hour wait, and were very hungry with a small child, so we ate it, but would have complained had anyone at all paid us the time of day. Now we know why there was no line to get in. After hailing a server from another section I commented that the meals were marginal at best; she sent over the owner or manager who listened then simply walked away as my $30 bill was paid. Never again. Save your money and go practically anywhere else.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza. No pepperoni's on the pie. Figured no worries, well just call them. After being told to look under the cheese, and not finding any, we were asked to bring the pizza back. To swap a cheese for pepperoni, right? No. So they can put pepperoni on the cheese, wrap it in foil, and re-cook the pizza. Gave the guy a $15 tip on a $85 bill when we picked up. Guess karma isn't instant.

I would never step foot in this place again! We sat down to eat and awaited the server for a while. He had been busy taking phone orders and waiting on all the tables by himself. My soda was flat when it finally got to the table. I asked for a new one and he never came back with it. I went and inquired with Mr Mike if I could get my drink. He said gruffly, "he'll be right with you". 10 minutes later a woman arrived and was attempting to be very helpful. The pizza was horrible! Mr Mike was too busy that evening and probably should have locked the front door to take care of all the orders he had obviously backed up because we waited 45 minutes for the pizza. I would never have written this if we were at least treated like older should treat their customers, busy or not.

The $42 family salad ( the server said would serve group of 15) gave 7 people (of the 10 who wanted a big salad) each a tiny single tong serving, it was basically the size of a normal salad bowl. I would say it could serve 4 people. The owner (Mike? ) was super rude (had to request him to calm down and lower his voice!) and completely oblivious that the promise for a salad promised to serve 15 was utterly impossible. Even while saying the server made the mistake he did nothing to address a legit complaint. We wanted just a little more salad , we were a party of 10 eating a lot of pizza and spending a reasonable amount of mi ey, and it would have been trivial to accommodate us with *salad* . Instead he chose to argue, be rude, and not accept the customer feedback . I do not recommend, dude is rude and past best before date , sensed a lot of entitlement, and they dont actually care about their tourist customers. The menu is quite limited . The pizza itself is "meh" . The environment is very basic picnic table style.

We ordered a large margarita pizza and it was honestly the worst pizza any of us have ever had in our lives! we should’ve came back and returned it but we already drove all the way home. But basically there was no tomato sauce, there was no mozzarella circles so it was just pizza bread with melted cheese and like 5 tiny tomato’s, it was so dry & bland. none of us have never ever seen anyone make a margarita pizza like this… if you don’t know how to make it don’t advertise it 👎🏼 basically paid $23 for a grilled cheese

Pizza was meh... Service was awful!! We're from out of town and came with some friends, the waitress initially said they could just give us separate checks. A few minutes later another waiter came up and asked if we could just figure it out and get one check, we again asked for separate checks. At the end of the meal they handed us one check and said, "Good Luck." Your the restaurant, we were the customers you should be the ones figuring it out. You could have just pretended we weren't the only ones in the restaurant, which we were and now doesn't shock me...

Great place if you want to pay $28 for a "family size" salad that hardly pleases 2. The pasta was watery and pizza- eh. During the 30 plus minutes we waited for our food to come we debated on just going to the grocery store to get food and take it back to the hotel, Would have taken the same amount of time and tasted much better. I was going to give it 2 stars but just needed to mention the broken high chair straps. C'mon, family friendly and the little ones can't join? Go somewhere else!

I have traveled all over the world and eaten in a plethora of restaurants and I can honestly say that this was hands-down the WORST place I've ever eaten. Pizza was not good, garlic bread was forgotten then brought out after the fact with no cheese (which we ordered) and was basically a few pieces of cut up bread. But worse than all what was the service. Oh my God, unbelievable. We were there for OVER TWO HOURS. No one came to take our order until we flagged someone down, no one delivered our check until we flagged someone down. As we were walking out, there was a commotion in the pick-up area about poor service that someone else has experienced. We saw a few people standing outside, contemplating going in, and we steered them away. Insane experience.

I place an order at 7:13 pm and it’s 8:54 , I call twice asking what’s wrong and the two times called they told me the pizza was on the way so I guest it’s coming from around the world 🙄it’s this time and my pizza haven’t arrived yet!!

I am in town from Minnesota and heard that Mr. Mike’s Pizza was one of the best in town. Ordered a sausage calzone with garlic cheese bread. The garlic bread had little to no garlic flavor and was made with a loaf of bread instead of French bread. There was no sausage filling at all in the calzone. No sauce either. As you can see from the picture, it was just a bunch of crust. Worst meal I’ve had since I’ve arrived in Lake Placid. Would never eat there again.

UPDATE: In September 2025 I got a pie. It was terrible compared to 30 years ago. Also 20 years ago you did sell slices. 30 years ago you were owned by Italians. I literally had friends from Bloomingdale that worked there. Your response proves how downhill this location has gone. Should be ashamed of yourselves. It wasnt as good as I remember it :( When we lived here in the 90s this was the pizza joint to go to. My dad would splurge and it was great. Everytime I visit I stop in for a few slices or a whole pie if I’m sharing at wherever I’m staying. Even in 2020 when my grandma died it still tasted great. But something has changed. We loved going here because actual Italian immigrants owned the shop.

Tried to order to-go here. They told us 20 minutes. I got there at 30 minutes and then it was an additional 25minutes. They had a party going on but the dining room was empty. I saw three pizzas go by to tables, even though they knew I was waiting. The pizza itself was mid. Crust was really doughy n sauce was very bland. While I was waiting forever for the pizza someone came up complaining the glasses weren’t clean at the table. I complained politely twice and then a little more obnoxiously once, to no avail. I do not recommend.
