Large portions for the money. The chicken salad sandwich is my very favorite. My husband loves the dirty rice. The fried okra was served hot and fresh. And, you get a free ice cream cone that tops off the meal just right.

We have tried every fast food chicken place from Round Rock to Liberty Hill. This place is our favorite. The chicken is juicy and delicious. The fries are really good ,crisp but soft inside. The country gravy tastes great with everything. Especially the fresh, soft rolls. Prices are really good for how much you get.

Pretty friendly service. Had a nice little conversation with the elder man at the register unlike 90% of places that just take your order and that's it. Fun fact, it takes $1,700 to buy everything on the menu.😊 The food did not disappoint at all. There was a young staff member who had a happy-to-help demeanor. Overall it exceeded expectations👍. Bonus, the decor by the bathroom and the ceiling made it a little more upscale than your average fast food place. 😉

Juicy, crispy and hot. The best we’ve had in fried chicken chains. We had them 3 times in 4 days. Their chick salad is also very good. Tasted so good. This Leander location was quite generous on the salad portion, too. (Didn’t try at RR location) 11/10.

Gotta say for a highschool fast food joint it's probably the most consistent of all the chains. From the food to the service and atmosphere brings me back to great times with friends I've made there. Also Big Red added to any drink at any amount will flavor the entire drink like big red. Yes even a single drop.

Golden chick is always my go to fried chicken spot. The coating on the chicken is never heavy, the meat is juicy and tender. Yeast rolls are great!! I especially love it when they have the fish sammich around lent. Now I wish I had photos, but I don't.

I'm not sure if their old manager came back or what but well over a year after my original 1-star review they once again have amazing quality food, soft, fluffy sweet rolls, lightly fried chicken, excellent service, tasty sweet tea. I am just SO GLAD they have improved so substantially. If they keep this up I will definitely pick up food from there more frequently. They had 6 people laboring in the kitchen, plenty of chicken already cooked, and 3 cars pulled forward in the drive through (not AT the window, ahead of it, waiting) for over 20 minutes for two small meals. It was RIDICULOUS and the staff didn't even apologize for the super slow service. Just bad form all around!! 8 months after my initial review they've backslid even further, now their food is overcooked, dry, chewy, and their rolls are not nice and doughy/sweet. After many years of supporting this business my family has decided it costs too much to be disappointed every visit.

I love Golden Chick! I usually get the traditional fried chicken (I get wings), fries, and okra…I have never been disappointed. But my favorite part is the jalapeño poppers! I always eat them on the way home because they’re best when they’re freshly cooked! Yummy! I highly recommend Golden Chick for your fast-food fried chicken fix!

Our order was missing a fish combo and 5 orders of fries. The order was 61.00 and some change. Tried to call their mailbox was full, so no answer. First time EVER to Golden Chick and I have to say we’ve already been back for seconds! Great crispy chicken and sweet rolls just like Mom used to make! Never been offered melted butter before but I gotta say it was fantastic! Service was a real treat with the guy at the drive up window so thoughtful and kind to give me BOTH kinds of butter! I will return, maybe today!

Visiting from out of town, this was my first time trying Golden Chick. Loved it. Really good value. Great service. Food was always hot and fresh. And I liked it so much I ate here three times. The interior was also really nice to sit down and eat, which feels like a rarity in fast food these days.

The kid working the drive-thru tonight was amazing! He was working hard and still very pleasant. This is quite the refreshing experience since most people working drive-thru these days (at other places) are so rude. Also, my order was perfect and the food was fantastic! Love this golden chick!!!

Catching up on my reviews. (I take notes and keep receipts to ensure I’m on point when I enter it!) We visited this Golden Chick March 13, 2020 during lent. We enjoy Golden Chick for Chicken but we really like the way they cook their catfish. They are very flexible with their menu. They have many “combo” choices in roast chicken, fried chicken and southern fried catfish. Something that I had not seen on previous visits was fried shrimp. On this visit (take out as the news from all over the 🌍 world was Covid 19 although we weren’t under any orders yet) Friday the 13th it was lent and so we both opted for the Southern Fried Catfish Medium Combo. I ordered the 3 piece and hubby the 5 piece meal. This particular combo came with One Side and a Medium Drink. There was also a special where you could add three shrimp for $1.99 extra so we opted for one of those so that we could try the shrimp. Hubby got the macaroni and cheese for his side and I got the mashed potatoes and we also ordered an additional single side of their famous corn nuggets. Everything was hot and delicious and stay that way until I arrived home. I want to go back to the options to let you know they have a huge variety of sides -at least 9 options s you can get them in a single serving or a larger family style serving. We each tried a piece of the fried shrimp and it was good, however it is not something we would order again because we prefer the other main dish options over the shrimp. They also offer chicken and fish sandwiches, and several main dish salads along with a side salad. Their yeast rolls are light and fluffy and so tasty. They have several fountain beverage choices along with sweet and unsweet tea and pink lemonade. I have never had a bad experience at this location in Leander. I have use their drive-through, pick up, and dined in. The property is clean. Their associates are very friendly and very helpful! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and should you decide to go give some thought to trying the fish! It’s so good even when it’s not Lent

Always had excellent experiences here, but I wasn’t ever motivated to leave a review until we came across a small issue. Almost didn’t even bring it up, but when I did, Jesse was super nice about it and fixed it better than what it originally was. Great Manager!! Jesse made sure to correct our order from the drive thru. Getting home with missing items is never a good experience. After calling the store and explaining what was missing or wrong. He asked if I would be coming to pick it up. I wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about a drive back to the store during rush hour after work. Jesse made my order correct, and brought it to the house! This is the first Golden Chick I've ever been to. They're sort of rare and I only remember my mom going to one occasionally off of 183. My fiance and I were curious so we decided to give it a try. She loves their corn nuggets. The food is compatible to a chicken express, but a lot more options. Their chicken is definitely juicier than Bush's. Overall a solid pick, but you always have to be prepared to feel greasy and not so great after eating this sort of food.

The cashier who greeted me was very polite and helpful. The rest of the staff was friendly with smiles on their faces! My food came out hot and fresh. I was very happy with my experience here!

This is not just the best golden Chick, it is the best fast food location. You can tell the staff if putting 100% in with your stuff. Food is cooked perfectly. Have never had an over cooked piece of chicken. We got a family meal with a huge fried okra. They put a napkin at the bottom to soak up grease. Rolls are always fresh and warm. The place is cleaned perfectly. You walk in and can smell they take care of the place. Every table wiped down and no mess on tables. Staff is always friendly and quick. If you’re the manager and the franchise owner, you should be proud of your staff. I’ve been to fine dining restaurants with worse food and service. Awesome food, good prices and awesome staff.

It’s been so long since my family and I have been to Golden Chick.The last few times we went it was absolutely horrible.My daughter was dead set on having Golden Chick tonight. I went through the drive-through with intentions on just getting her a two-piece meal with sides, but then my husband wanted A two piece meal. I wasn’t going to get anything because I knew it was going to taste awful but I saw that they have fried fish that from the looks of the picture is cooked in cornmeal. I am from Louisiana and if you ever ask me, I’m going to tell you the only way to fry fish is in cornmeal. Long story short we got bone in chicken, Fried catfish, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, and a side salad, and it was all very good. I do not usually like fast food or eating out, but just like most Mom sometimes we need to take the easy way out. I do not normally write reviews, but this one is definitely deserved. The guy working in the drive-through was very nice and had great customer service .I don’t know if you guys got new management new cooks or what you guys are doing, but y’all are doing great and we will be back.

When I ordered my food, the cashier was patient and kind as well. When my order arrived, the catfish was overall hot and fresh, including the fries 5/5 would come again. Lastly, on my first try, I won the plushy.

I love how they always throw in a couple extra tenders. The woman at the drive thru seems almost hostile.

My kids and I really enjoy this location because it is always clean, the atmosphere is family friendly, the employees are kind, and the food is always delicious and delivered quickly. We tend to go about once a week. We always make sure to have quarters for the chicken vending machine. The clucking sound as the chicken rotates is always funny and you will get a fun surprise.

A surprising competitor to Raising Cane's chicken strips, which are in a class by themselves. At Golden the chicken is as good, but the batter is more golden (obviously) and more of an extra crispy texture. The sauce is almost as good, the tomato horseradish dipping sauce both have. Also better chicken than KFC at the same price if you want a bucket.

Let me start by saying the young man working the drive thru window is AWESOME! Why, because he listens. I ordered catfish fillers, hot & fresh.

I love Golden Chick. It is one of the few fast food places I can count on to get my order right. Yolanda gave me great service today. She took my order quickly and got it right the 1st time. She was really nice and had a positive attitude.

Golden Chick is always one of my go-to places for good crispy fast fried chicken. Their sides are always hot and fresh and the rolls are absolutely amazing. As usual today did not disappoint. They also not have boneless wings all available in a garlic parmesan a Korean barbecue or a buffalo sauce. I sampled six of the buffalo sauce boneless wings and they were pretty good. Decent sized pieces of chicken along with a crispy breading and the sauce is somewhere between a mile and medium just a tiny bit of zing to them without being hot at all. I really enjoyed those and I'm going to go back and try the garlic parmesan

No dine in. The line is often around the building. It took 20 minutes to get through the drive through. This is not the best golden chick I've gone to. The catfish was not anything like the picture. Tried the chicken sandwich the oversize roll is great. I wasn't crazy about the sauce. 4 pickles not 2 a dig at chik file a mile up the road

Everything was made freshly right then and there besides the rolls but still really good. They were out of okra... which is not a big deal it's so good so it's understandable, why I was so upset was because we spent $25 for 2 tender meals and a kids meal... and we're given absloutly no gravy. They weren't out of gravy, because they come automatically on the side of the tender meals, always have, so they would have mentioned that like they mentioned being out of okra. Very, very disappointed to get home and have no gravy. It's not like I could have turned around and gone back, I was picking up my kid from Leander and taking her to my house in Round Rock bit too far of a drive back to Cedar Park for some gravy. First time that's ever happened at any Golden Chick so like I said, very disappointing.

This was our go-to place for dinner, but it has gone downhill because, in my opinion, a change in packaging. Now food is in a one compartment container whereas it used to be a 3 compartment container. Now, if you order spicey, your fries and roll will also be spicy and the roll will be gummy thanks to be in the same compartment with the other food. Is it really saving that much money to change the containers? Time to find another go-to.

went to golden chick and ordered a tender junior combo and paid 7 dollars for 2 pieces. the raspberry lemonade is quite tart and hard to swallow given it is very sour. my roll was very burnt and not soft and i also was not asked if i would like a sauce. In addition, i asked for my tenders to be spicy and received regular, not-spicy-at-all tenders. I am not pleased with my meal or the service, will not be returning to this location because it is clear y’all don’t have tastebuds.

We ate here yesterday. Never been to a golden chick. The catfish was in pieces and overcrispy . Your pictures look like filets. These were fish pieces so crispy I couldn't find and fish hardly. I am disappointed.

We have eaten here for years and today was the worst and I was very disappointed. I asked for okra and dirty rice and it even said it on my receipt but my meals came with fries. I had already waited 13 minutes for my fish but by the time I got my sides, everything but the okra was cold.

Strange taste to the roast chicken. Fries were good. Service couldn't be bothered! Asked for a knife ..they don't have any. Have to use fingers for eating roast chicken! Perhaps they don't have knives but really!! Plenty of better places to eat nearby ..sonic for instance.

Went to Golden chick for the first time to try their state fair corn dogs. Unfortunately all 5 of the corn dogs we received did not taste anything like the state fair dogs. They were all overcooked on the outside with very dry breading that had none of the sweetness you get at the fair. If you are looking to get your state fair fix wait until 2021.

This place used to be amazing but lately the last few times it’s been bad and and the employees do not listen to the needs of their customers! I got the 4 piece tenders meal and the tenders were so tiny, asked for lite ice in soda and it’s filled to the top. Going to avoid it for a while and hopefully it gets better again!

Pregnant and was really craving some quick fried catfish, so gave this place a shot since it was one of few options. I say, it's on me for going to a chicken place in Texas and expecting cajun catfish lol. I ended up getting the fried okra with, and they were both extremely bland. Despite this, the catfish flavor didn't stand out at all like I expected, which I'm dissappointed by. Just tasted like breading... Be prepared to doctor both with your spice cabinet and insane amounts of hot sauce. The breading was extremely crispy though, and the flavor of the okra itself was prominent. Not what I was expecting, I was hoping for some seasoning to bring out the flavor at least🙏😭 Service was great though.

I have ordered from them thru DoorDash from this location and more times than none they have forgotten the gravy from my order. That’s the whole point of chicken strips, you have something to dip it in. There were two chicken strip combos orders, one with gravy the other with the Zing sauce. READ THE ORDER AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ORDER CORRECT BEFORE HANDING IT OFF TO THE DOOR DASH DRIVER!!!! Ruined the entire dinner.

So I ordered a chicken roll and they said they don't offer that anymore even though it's still on their menu in the drive through. So I then ordered 1 chicken strip and 1 roll so I could build my own chicken roll and yep u guessed it. I got down the road and no freaking roll. Really??? This place really sucks. Nothing but young high school clueless people agreeing like they're working. Don't go there. Go to Randall's instead.

I cannot imagine why the ratings are so high. The food is so greasy. The mac & cheese has no flavor. The gravy has the same flavor as the mac & cheese none. And is very watered-down. The cat fish was overcooked. Staff was friendly. Absolutely awful. And I love chicken.

I got there at 8 o’clock the dining room closes at 9 pm The cashier had a hard time understanding English she had to get the manager to take my order(three piece roast combo with dirty rice and okra) she set my order on the counter, without notifying me, then called out the number of a to go order that was placed after me after that, she then proceeded to break down the drink station, so no one could use it the whole time, talking to her self in Spanish in a unpleasant tone of voice. I was the only one in the dining room. Which made me feel like I was a Inconvenience for her the dirty rice look like somebody chewed it up and spit it on my plate it was all mushy I have eaten lunch there and it’s never look like that. it makes me wonder if they do short cuts like this in front of you. What do they do in the back? Where you can’t see them? This is the second time I’ve had this experience walking in at 8 o’clock! DON’T GO THERE ANYWHERE NEAR CLOSING THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE THEIR CUSTOMERS! I was out the door by 8:25PM!!!!

My husband wanted shrimp and catfish so I got both. They were so overcooked his gums were cut. The last year their food and service has really gone downhill. The staff doesn't seem to care if your order is correct and offers no apology for mistakes. They use to be so good.

The reason for a one star on the food is cause I moved here from Taylor Texas and the chicken tenders there are a nice size. When I ordered chicken tenders here they are not the size they should be. I've been to multiple Golden Chick's and I have never got any tenders that were this skimpy. It almost looks like they are cutting the tenders in half. I'd rather make the drive to taylor to pick up food there cause at least there I know that we'll get full sized tenders and for the price that I have paid is ridiculous

Yesterday around 11am we stopped in I got the fish & fries, daughter got tenders, tenders were good not as hot as usual her mashed litter not even warm & the gravy wasn’t either & it was runny. Both our rolls were cold, the briefest disappointment for me was the fish which I love it was cooked too long had that almost burnt taste & the fish meat was almost non existent my fries were lukewarm. We love Golden Chick but it was not good yesterda. Both the young guys were very seeet & polite so much so we distasteful anything yo them, decided to to review instead
