Excellent and fast service. The set menu was delicious (19 euros), and the roast lamb was perfectly cooked. First time today. I'll be back.
One of the best places for tapas in León. They have two terraces, one on the main street and one covered in the arcades, as well as a dining room. It's hard not to find it packed, whether at the tables, the high tables, or at the bar. The atmosphere is usually loud and lively, and it's a good place to watch sports. They have a good variety of tapas, but without a doubt, the best for us is the auricle with snout, one of the best in the city. The prices are reasonable and the service is very good. Highly recommended.
We are a group of Brit's who called in to watch Queen Elizabeth's funeral on TV. We spent the best part of three hours there and were looked after. Great drinks and Tapas. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, good value for money.Great location and service.I highly recommend it!Thank you!
I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to taste real regional spanish food. I go to this restaurant every time I come back to León. If they have Botillo (meat with pimenton - smoked papikra), don't miss the opportunity.
It's the first time I'm going to eat at this restaurant, I've always heard that the food is good. Today I tried and we ate the set menu, which had four starters and four main courses, dessert, bread and a drink for 18€. I have to say that I was a little disappointed because what we ate was not to my liking, I'm not saying it was bad, but it was the most ordinary thing I've seen lately. I ate vegetable stew and frankly it wasn't very good. The vegetables were frozen, which doesn't have to be bad, but the quality left a lot to be desired. The peas were enormous and hard and the other vegetables weren't very tasty. For the second course, marinated loin with potatoes. It was delicious, but the presentation was very poor, with strips of peppers that weren't sautéed or anything from the jar to the plate, in other words, totally bland. For dessert, the lemon cream was very good. My companion ate chickpeas with tripe, which although I didn't try them, looked good and in fact I My companion confirmed. The second course was good. The menu is very simple, but they were full and doubling tables. The service was good and the atmosphere was very busy.
A bar/restaurant in the heart of León, located on a street next to the cathedral. This establishment offers a pleasant dining experience in a cozy setting. The bar/restaurant has a bar and restaurant area, as well as a small street terrace. We enjoyed two drinks and were offered a tapa with a choice of chicken wings, roasted ham, and stewed pork ear and snout. The portion of chicken wings was very substantial and perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of salt. The homemade potatoes that accompanied it were very good. The tapa of stewed pork ear and snout was tasty and flavorful, although a couple of pieces had pork hair, something not usually found in this type of dish and which could have been avoided with a little more cleanliness. Overall, La Catedral offers good quality and is a recommended place to enjoy a meal or drink in the center of León, although this detail should be noted.
The place is a bit hidden, so by pure chance we found the menu posted on the street corner overlooking the restaurant, so we decided to try it, and we really liked it! It seems like a very family-friendly restaurant with traditional food, especially lots of "palitos de cuchara" (spoon sticks). Everything was really delicious. We ordered the set menu for 17.50, which includes a starter, main course, dessert, or coffee, water or wine, and bread. If I had to find a fault, the "churrasco" meat was a little tough. The desserts were definitely the best. As for the service, it took a while to bring the dishes, but it was obvious there were a lot of people in the place and they couldn't keep up.
Pleasant staff, haven't tried there tapas, quiet street near the cathedral locals seem to like it
Historical location on the outer walls of the "Castillo Templario"
We had three set menus for €14.50. The food was good, without complaints, but not excellent. The place was quite busy but not excessively noisy, despite this, it didn't take long for our order to arrive. The menu only includes dessert, although they tell you if you'd like coffee after the meal, it's not included, and soft drinks aren't included either. The waitresses were friendly. I'd go back if I'm in the area and it's lunchtime. I might look for something better if I have time. 6.5/10
They have lots of places, but sometimes in detriment of cuality. Nevertheless, I had bull tail and it was delicious!!!
No estaba mal.
They had a set menu for €25, but given what it offered, we decided to order from the à la carte menu. We ordered two starters: the croquettes were labeled as ham, but they tasted like sausages; the calamari was quite good. Then we ordered two cachopos: one the house special with peppers, and another with cured beef and cheese. Both had raw fillets, oozing water, clearly indicating they'd been frozen and grilled from frozen. We cut into the raw meat, and the waitress noticed and quickly took the plate away, realizing what a waste it was. Between the starters and the main courses, we were there for almost 40 minutes, and we'd almost lost our appetites. Finally, when it came time to pay, we don't usually pay much attention, but everything seemed very expensive, so we realized they'd charged us for three cachopos instead of two… We also asked the waitress which was which cachopo, but she didn't even try to find out. Expensive, close to the cathedral, and far from living up to expectations. We certainly wouldn't return.
We went to try the weekend menu, priced at €25 per person, which includes a drink, bread, and dessert. Of the first courses we ordered, only the beans with clams were satisfactory. The paella arrived with overcooked, excessively mushy rice, and the Russian salad was a very small portion, making it unappealing as a first course. For the main courses, the roast lamb was well prepared. However, the oxtail stew was unpleasant, as I found no less than three hairs in the dish, which was completely unacceptable. As for dessert, we tried carrot cake, brownie, and coffee flan, and in this case, everything was fine. Overall, an inconsistent experience; I wouldn't recommend it.
We went to this restaurant for dinner because it's always been a place where you could be sure of a good meal. Well, I don't know what happened, but the food was awful. There were about 10 of us, and we ordered everything to share. The only things that were good were the house salad and the fried goat cheese. The croquettes were terrible, they weren't homemade at all, but what disgusted us the most were the potato omelets. They tasted like fish and were very dry. The stewed one was somewhat masked by the tomato. They should be ashamed of themselves charging €20 for each omelet, if you can even call it that. We're certain the restaurant isn't what it used to be, and we'll never be going back.
When we arrived, there weren't many people, and it took quite a while to be served. I don't even want to imagine what it's like when it's busy. We ordered the set menu, and when we asked for drinks, they told us they weren't included. When we asked which drinks were, the woman serving us rudely replied that it was written on the menu and we should read it. I was shocked by the terrible service and treatment they provide. And the food was very poor. It's a shame they treat people like that. We work in tourism, and they could have gained many more customers, but we certainly won't be recommending them.
Nosotros no volveremos
Necesitabas reserva pues no tenía sitio.
We went on the guide's recommendation. We ordered the set menu. For the first course, we had grilled leeks, which were watery and incredibly oily. For the second course, we had grilled sole. It was raw and cold inside, as if it had just been taken out of the freezer and briefly pan-fried. I asked the waiter to cook it a little longer, but it didn't improve much. The table next to us also ordered sole and had the same experience. The price was €18 per person. In my opinion, it was a very disappointing set menu; I wouldn't go back or recommend it.
