This place is an anomaly on google reviews so I tried it out for lunch. I got the two meat plate. Brisket and pulled pork. Comes with 2 sides so I chose the Smoked cabbage and they suggested the collard greens so i got it. Got a piece of corn bread which I discovered was Jalapeño chedder with a crispy crust. They have mint sweet tea on tap which was great. Nothing I ate was bad, it was all amazing. I gravitated towards the habenaro Bbq sauce but your 3 options are Habenaro, original, and Bourbin which were all good. Its a great location and a clean enviorment with a big porch for nice days outside to eat. I got asked like 10 times if I was doing ok which isn't a bad thing at all. You can tell they care about the success of this place and succeeding they are. I literally couldn't nit pick them if I tried. It was a perfect experience. The only problem I had was I didnt have room for the fried twinke or super lemon pie they had! Thanks yall!
Absolute perfection 👌 The food was spot on. Not too smoky, moist and tender. Had the jalapeño sausage with bits of cheese, turkey was moist and flavorful, brisket had a really delicious bark. Also paired the bologna with their corn bread, yum! Our girls threw down on turkey and a pulled pork sandwich. Wasn’t anything left! Wife had pulled pork and brisket with fried okra and Mac n Cheese. She said it was the best okra she ever had. I also had potato salad and coleslaw. Definitely home made and both were delicious. The staff there is super friendly. Terry is a great guy. Very engaging with our entire family. They even came around several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place. We will be back!
We popped in today and ordered 2 meat with sides,2 peach cobbler, ( I followed the advise of another review) in hind site do NOT order and pay for your desert ahead of time,I peaked to soon and I couldn't eat the peach cobbler, but wow that meat,I have never tasted anything like it in my life before, you don't need teeth,I ordered moist Brisket, and it literally melted in my mouth, the owner brought us over a rib each to try, again no chewing needed, we flew in from Alberta yesterday, and Sullivan's is the first BBQ we have tried, and we are going back tmrw to try,4 meat selection, being nearly 60 I have to pace myself unfortunately, but I definitely recommend you to visit this place, they are having the patio done,we thought it was closed but no it isn't,park at the side, and you will receive a very warm welcome when you walk inside
We placed a large order for the workplace. All orders were individually bagged, with person's name, boxed up carefully and made on time. Everything was prepared as ordered and there were no complaints. The food was great. The baked potato was enough for lunch and afternoon snack. Thank you! We will be ordering from you again in the future.
Came on Saturday for the bottomless ribs for $19 and boy did they deliver. Cinnamon roll and bread and Mac and cheese was also great. The owner walks around cracking dad jokes and there was live music. So good. I'll be full for the next three weeks. My husband's face is incredulous in the picture.
Really good barbecue. Price is reasonable considering the portion size (I had the Texas sandwich.) The house barbecue sauce very tasty, slight kick to it. I will definitely return to try more of the menu! Helpful friendly staff. Communal tables, food served on traditional tin trays with butcher paper liners, rolls of paper towels at every table.
Wow, the food is soooooo good. By far the best BBQ I've ever had as a life-long Texan, and the only time I haven't used any sauce, it was that good. Also, the fried okra and key lime pie, omg. And their customer service is beyond amazing too!!!! Wish I could give them 6 stars. It's so good we are coming back tomorrow to eat here again while we are in town. Definitely eat here!
This place is great. Close to railroad park so that we can get dinner after my daughter's soccer games. The owner stops by to say hello. You can tell the people that work there take pride in their work. Has become my favorite barbeque restaurant.
I walked in and immediately was greated in a warm and welcoming way by all of the staff. They were so helpful in explaining how the menu works and just overall an amazing experience. Not to mention the food was incredible! They even gave me a little side of brisket to give to my dog, So sweet!!
I have no idea why I haven't been eating here more often. The BBQ is absolutely amazing, the atmosphere simple but inviting, and the people working there were all genuine smiles and good humor. One of the best local BBQ places I've ever been to. Go check them out...you won't be disappointed.
Where to start. When a place has this many 5 stars and you haven’t gone...well despite trepidation you have to try it. People extremely nice, there was live music, and a beer came with my combo. Brisket was tender and juicy. Ribs perfectly done and turkey was amazing. They even bottle their own sauce. So if your wondering if it good and/or if you should come...you should.
The food is amazing and the staff makes the visit that much better. Everyone is real personable and gives it a great small town kinda vibe. Highly recomend for anyone who's looking for some great BBQ!
A colleague recommended this place at work this week and the family decided to try it out this past Friday. We were not disappointed. When we opened the door we were greeted with amazing live music and super friendly staff. The girl that took our order had a super bubbly personality and was very patient with us as first timers. When we looked around for seating the place was packed and it was obvious everyone was having a good time. We almost had to order our food to go until a very kind gentlemen offered his reserved seating to my family. He gestured for us to join him and that is what we did. We later learned this gentlemen was not just a regular patron but part of the Sullivan team. He treated us like family and even gave my son his first scoop of ice cream with chocolate syrup and sprinkles. My wife and I highly recommend checking this place out. Great food, great atmosphere and a great staff. We will be coming back. Thanks to the Sullivan team for taking good care of my family. You’re a hidden gem of Lewisville and more people need to know you exist. We’re telling everyone we know about you and hope to see you a few more times before summer ends.
So glad we found this place. Some of the best BBQ around. Service was just as good. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area. We’ll be back for sure!!
My company had a Christmas party and boy did Sullivan’s deliver. Sides and meats were perfect! Made all my employees very happy.
The experience at this place is like a scene out of a movie! The owner is very hands-on and clearly cares about his customers, which is rare not only in the barbecue world but the restaurant world as a whole now! His animation is contagious, so his staff is just as awesome. All of the customers have smiles on their faces. Quite simply, they make it look easy. All their brisket is Prime & has a solid bark. I’m not even a pork fan and have to say the pork ribs are done just right. They are rubbed with something amazing (all their sauces and rubs are made in-house) and fall right off the bone. They serve everything right out of the pit so it’s always hot when served! The desserts are amazing and homemade too… (shh… ask them how! 😊) As a connoisseur who has been to literally over 100 barbecue restaurants, I can genuinely say this place is one of the best. I am thrilled to have found it.
The brisket here is AMAZING, my son loves the turkey, the ribs are incredible. They have their own in house bbq sauce, but honestly none of the food requires any sauce, it’s so moist and flavorful!
Wonderfully service and food! Prome brisket was A-mazing. Brisket baked potato would feed 3! Owner was very hospitable. Down home atmosphere 😊
If you're looking for a place with delicious brisket and where they treat you like family (family that you like 😆), look no further than Sullivan's BBQ. They had some of the best brisket and mac n cheese I've ever had. My wife ordered the brisket nachos and loved it. The turkey was a little peppery but still very tender. Food aside, the hospitality here is absolutely unmatched! Everyone was nice, patient, and made sure we were taken care of. One of the ladies passed out samples of homemade cinnamon rolls, and they were fantastic...warm, fluffy, and tasty. When we finished eating, they gave my two children complimentary ice cream sundaes. That was the cherry on top of our Sullivan BBQ experience.
Brisket, ribs, sides, everything top notch! Restaurant is very clean! Owner is on the premises monitoring quality and distributing down home hospitality. Equally as good as the food are the people who work there. I have never felt so welcomed and cared for in a restaurant!! 10 out of 10 experience. We will be back often!
Food was amazing, owner is an absolute gem! Brisket and Turkey were the best I've had in years, fried okay was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the peach cobbler was decadent.
Easily the best service I have ever received. Every employee including Mr. Sullivan himself were so incredibly friendly and effervescent. We ordered the pulled pork, brisket with okra and coleslaw and it was easily the best BBQ I have ever tried. In the midst of my girlfriend and I talking about the catfish Mr. Sullivan comes out with a couple pieces for us to try and I have to say it was my favorite part of the meal that night! With the food being astounding and the hospitality being through the roof this place is a no brainer to come and experience it all.
Perfect in every way. Brisket was the star, tender, smoked, barked, and had a good balance of marble. Turkey seasoning was great. Every side was so well made. And then the pudding..whew. Come and get your bbq fix. Service is so friendly too. We went there on Christmas Eve and my wife wanted to pack a few gifts for our friends while we waited for our food. They even gave us some tape and scissors. Can't wait to go back.
We keep coming back to find something we don't like. But everything is GREAT. The Brisket Chili is #1. Banana Pudding is ALMOST as good as my Momma's......
Sullivan BBQ exceeded our family’s expectations during our first visit! Our favorite was the ribs, sausage tamales, and brisket, they were exceptionally delicious, and the signature BBQ Bourbon Whiskey Sauce added a delightful twist. The staff and owner's warm hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. The live music provided the perfect ambiance. We can't wait to return – Sullivan BBQ comes highly recommended for a fantastic dining experience!
Me and my wife brought our 3 kids here to sit on the outside porch. Besides the plates being rich with Texas flavor- the hospitality & greeting from the owner to come say hello and treat our kids to ice cream is a moment we will never forget since we just moved to the area. It is a MUST that we will be back.
As a guest of the great state of Texas, it was an honor and a privilege to dine in this great establishment. The staff greet you immediately with a kind welcoming. Service was wonderful, and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the 3 meat plate, which was accompanied by two delicious sides, a hearty cornbread muffin. The meats were amazing, the sides were equally delicious. Highly recommended giving them a visit.
BEST brisket in the DFW area! I was extremely impressed with the flavor of meat and the staff provided outstanding customer service. I feel like I made new friends---this place makes you feel welcome. I will be returning SOON and introducing friends and family as well. The banana pudding is sinfully delicious too! I enjoyed every bite of it---from the Tucson Nurse 😉😁
I had the brisket sandwich with fries. Tasted great! Friendly staff, was asked how I was doing by several employees. Great service. Definitely will be back!
If you’re looking for high quality BBQ and amazing service, this is the place to be! My boyfriend and I felt like we were at our grandparent’s house. We were greeted with warm smiles and fast service. Food: The fatty, tender brisket was packed with flavors. Pork ribs fell off the bone. You can’t go wrong with any of their sides! Banana pudding was a light, refreshing finish to our meal. Service: We were checked on by 3+ people during our 20 minute visit there. Terry and Cheryl are so attentive and sweet. They go over and beyond to ensure that everyone gets treated as family. Overall, so happy we found this gem! Will be back as regulars.
Wow! If you're serious about bbq or maybe searching for "the best damn BBQ in the country"...this is 100% a destination type BBQ place worthy of a cross country trip. If you happen to be visiting in town or nearby you have to try this place. If you live near...you already know. Not only was this the best BBQ I've ever had, it might be the overall best bite I've ever had...EVER! For real it's that good. I was traveling with work friends from Ohio & TN and we had pulled pork, burnt ends, fatty and lean brisket, spicy sausage, smoked bologna and Terry himself even brought over a few bones of ribs to try on the house! Terry's been doing this for 40 years and it shows. He talked with Terry for a while and he shared his process, temp and length...(how cool is that?) We also tried a bunch of sides (all were 4.5+ stars!) and the banana cream & the pecan pie, which are made in house and it shows. He's figured it out and I will 100% be back. This place is so good 5 star's doesn't give it justice. I for sure will be cashing in airline miles to get this BBQ again, soon!
Stopped for lunch as we were checking out the Lewisville area. We both had loaded potatoes with chopped brisket. The potatoes were large, and the brisket was flavorful. I especially like the Habenero BBQ sauce. We took advantage of the great weather and ate outside. The stop was made even better when Terry Sullivan, owner, stopped by to chat with us. The friendly conversation was a great way to end the meal.
Best Bbq prime brisket. His turkey and dressing for thanksgiving and Christmas are the fantastic. Desserts are out of this world. The owner is amazing honest friendly and kind. Kids are always treated special and the all u can eat ribs is a rare find!
Heard the stories of how good the food is and the friendly atmosphere so we had to give it a try. I can say the stories are true, we had the brisket and the mild sausage and both were great. The onion rings and the cornbread was really good also. Was stuffed so couldn't do dessert this time but looking forward to trying the pecan pie on the next visit. Was worth the drive from Keller.
Simply the best barbecue I’ve had north of Waco, Texas. Nothing fancy, but still great atmosphere helpful people. Even the owner works behind the counter cutting meat and greeting customers. As much as I’d like to keep her secret, I can’t help but recommend it.
Terry the BBQ pit master himself and the sweetest folks run this joint. Very tender meats smoked just right, and nothing was dry. The nachos topped with the fatty brisket were also great. Brisket and ribs were the stand out for me. The other star of the meal was the homemade pecan pie, made by Terry's mamaw herself. All their BBQ sauces, especially the original are great too!
Best barbecue I’ve had in 55 years! We drove 45 minutes to come here for my 55th birthday. Feels like family when the owner greets you, sits at your table, the gals working there tell you about their day and share a bit about their life. On top of all that, Terry, the owner uses slow, wood cooking techniques that he’s been using 30+ years. The barbecue is blue ribbon quality! The okra is made from scratch (haven’t seen that in decades). The corn bread tastes just like mine! Moist and wonderful! I loved the meat rub, no barbecue sauce was needed. Oh! And the fat was left on, very yummy! Terry’s 85 year old mom has been making the pecan pies since Jan 2000, and still does! The pie was marvelous!
While in town from out of state we decided from the reviews that Sullivan's would be a great TEXAS BBQ place to try and boy, it did not disappoint. The brisket was so tender and juicy. The ribs were fall off the bone good and my oldest kiddo said she could drink the BBQ it was so yummy. My husband loved the Texas sandwich, once he picked it up he didn't want to put it down. The service was great and the owner was so friendly and funny. The band (OUTLAW JANE) that was playing was great. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK during our next trip to Texas. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We are visiting from TN and saw the reviews and decided to try it. Was not disappointed. The food was delicious. All the staff are very friendly and made you feel at home. Even the owner came around to check on us. He even fixed our little one something that was not on the menu. Would definitely come back if in the area again.
I had the Showin off platter that feeds 2-3 people. It’s quite the steal for $40. The meal includes brisket, pulled pork, ribs and sausage plus 4 sides. The cornbread was extra but well worth it. The portions were huge, the service was amazing and the folks behind the counter and in the restaurant treated you like you were family. We walked into the all you can eat ribs night from 5-8pm on a Saturday plus they had a gentleman playing all the hits. The music was great by itself but add that to the food and place and I will definitely be back again.
The brisket here is incredibly delicious, and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, making it a great place to relax. It’s always busy because it’s simply that good.
Yet another Lewisville hidden gem!! If you love barbecue, you must try this place out, everything was so delicious! We got the corn and mac and cheese as our sides and they were top tier, I highly recommend. I also got the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was stacked high and was tender. When we got there, a man was playing live music and it really added to the vibes. Lastly if you come on a friday or saturday they give you a free cinnamon roll with your meal if you dine in. This was a 5/5 experience and we will be back!
Currently sitting here and wanted to make sure I did not forget to review. Let me start with they catered an event in Farmers Branch last weekend which brought us here today. AMAZING SERVICE. AMAZING! You walk in and everyone greets you. It literally feels like you are walking up to family members to talk. The food was amazing, service was amazing, everything from beginning to end was amazing! Sweet people that take care of you from when you walk in until you leave. Will definitely be back!
This is our 2nd time to stop here while passing thru on a road trip. This is one of our favorite Texas BBQ spots! The staff is always so nice and friendly and the food is fantastic! The brisket is a must, and the fried okra was cooked perfectly. The owner even brought our dogs out a plate of chopped brisket. Oh yeah, and they’re dog friendly too. We will definitely be back next time we pass thru the area. Four thumbs up from us and 8 paws up from our dogs!
We had a great experience. Walked in and the nice lady asked was this our first time we said yes she rang a cow bell. We had brisket, turkey, sausage and the loaded baked potato. The owner came by and said hi. We will for sure come back the atmosphere the food and the service where all 5 stars.
I've hit this place up multiple times now, and it's basically a happy place where the food is stupidly consistent and the staff is so friendly they probably high-five strangers in the parking lot. They've got indoor seating for when you're pretending to be civilized, and outdoor for when you want to commit to the full caveman experience. The brisket? Chef's kiss. Perfect smoke ring, bark that's got more personality than most people I know, and flavor that makes you question your life choices up until that first bite. Tender, juicy, zero dry spots—it's like the brisket gods personally supervised the cook. Turkey is somehow moist (yes, moist turkey exists) and seasoned like it actually wants to be eaten. No cardboard vibes whatsoever. Ribs — grip-the-bone territory without being underdone. Juicy, properly cooked, and just the right amount of chew. I may have embarrassed myself gnawing on them like a cartoon character. The bacon-wrapped jalapeños are straight-up dangerous. Crispy bacon shell, heat that's present but not trying to murder you, and that creamy, awesome middle that makes you go "oh no... I need six more." Miraculously, I have yet to encounter a single sad, dried-out piece of meat here. It's like they have a secret "no jerky allowed" policy. Sides are solid—I mean, I assume they're solid because I basically tunnel-visioned on the meats and only paused to shove a couple pieces of fried okra into my face hole like it was a competitive sport. Sorry not sorry, veggies. You tried. And get the tea, it is really good. Bottom line: If you're in the mood for BBQ that doesn't disappoint and makes you want to fight anyone who says otherwise, this is your spot. 10/10, would unbutton pants again.
We drive all over Texas for the best BBQ. We were at Franklins in Austin last week. THIS BBQ from Sullivan is in the top 3 of ALL the best BBQ in Texas. The brisket ribs and beans are 5 star plus. The owner is on site and a hell of a character! He has been in the restaurant business forever yet somehow is still very passionate about his product. Outstanding kind fast staff. The editors at Texas Monthly need to get their head out of their tails and get here for their next BBQ edition. This is the real deal and you don’t have to drive 5 hours and be in line at 7am.
My son’s friend told us about this place so we tried it out. Wow what a gem!!! My wife is a brisket snob & she said it’s the best she’s ever had…moist & full of flavor. I had the burger. Very good! Rolls are outta this world. Owner gave us ribs too. They were delicious fall off the bone. My daughter’s chop beef sandwich was HUGE!!Bonus tip: go on Friday or Saturday night…they give free cinnamon rolls made out of the rolls. Hands down the best I’ve ever had! Also live music. We would highly recommend giving them a try. We spent $100 with tax and had lunch for 2 days after. (I ate my daughter’s sandwich 2 days later for lunch 😆) *didn’t get pic of friend’s chopped beef sandwich because he already plowed into it 👍🏼
What an absolutely fantastic experience! As a first-timer, I was thrilled when they rang the bell (with my permission, of course!) – a really fun touch. The wait for our food wasn't long at all, which was great because we were ready to dig in. We ordered a feast: ribs, mixed brisket, and jalapeño cheese sausage, all cooked to perfection. The sides were just as impressive. The mac and cheese was wonderfully creamy with a delightful texture on top, and the collard greens were my favorite combination of vinegary and spicy – no hot sauce needed! And I absolutely cannot forget the most awesome Cuban sandwich; it was pure perfection. The "full circle experience" continued with music playing on the patio, creating a wonderful ambiance. Then, Heidi came around with her homemade cinnamon rolls. These aren't even on the menu, but they're a true labor of love and a sweet treat for patrons. They were truly awesome! This place delivers on all fronts.
While visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Lewisville, we decided to stop by this gem of a traditional BBQ restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Terry himself even came over to say hello, which was a wonderful touch. But let me tell you—everything changed when I took my first bite of the pulled pork. I’ve had thousands of pulled pork sandwiches and plates in my lifetime, and this was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. I was practically speechless. Honestly, this could be GOD’s BBQ—it was that perfect. I also sampled one of their ribs, which was delicious, but the pulled pork? That was the work of a higher power. I will absolutely be back. If you’re anywhere near Lewisville, do yourself a favor and experience this BBQ heaven.
We were in Dallas for one day and ate BBQ at 3 highly rated places. Sullivan's is the only one I would go back to. We had a trio of meats, brisket, ribs and turkey. All we delicious and well balanced btw the amount of smoke and moistness of the meat. The service was down right awesome with everyone being helpful from making recommendations to providing extra napkins when requested. Finally, they had live music which was great.
Sullivan Old Town BBQ is truly a gem in Lewisville. The brisket is absolutely amazing — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The customer service is just as impressive. The team is friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. One thing that really stood out to me was the owner. He comes out, mingles with guests, shares laughs, and creates such a genuine, down‑to‑earth environment. It’s the kind of place where you feel like part of the family the moment you walk in. If you’re ever in Lewisville, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, great atmosphere — an all‑around fantastic experience.
This was my first time visiting but it won't be my last! We arrived at about 4 in the afternoon on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. But within about 45 minutes the place started to fill up. It seems to be really popular and I now I know why. I had family from Philly visiting and not only was the food great, the owner is amazing. He is so funny. Go in there with your sense of humor in tact! My brother had gone to the restroom and the next time the owner came by our table my brother said, "So, what's with all of the Dallas Cowboys stuff in the bathroom." There was some Eagles/Cowboys joking and then they just talked football. The atmosphere is super casual and the staff are so nice. There were 4 of us and each one of us got something different. We all left full and enjoyed our meals.
My first time going. The cashier rang a bell to let people know. I guess a regular customer was there who recognized that they acknowledge new customers no matter how many people are in the restaurant. I had the ribs, the sausage, potatoe salad and okra. The ribs were superb. My order was to go so my sides were small compared to the portions of people dining in. They were quick. It was a good experience
Best brisket that I’ve had in Texas. Nice small feel environment, and very friendly staff. The owner goes around to talk to everybody, and the kids got an ice cream bar at the end. Definitely need to bring my family here when they visit
Absolutely hands down the best service I’ve had in a long time. With customer service feeling like it’s on the decline everywhere, this place completely restored my faith. Every single person was so kind and welcoming. The food was unreal—super moist turkey, incredibly flavorful brisket, and everything was cooked to perfection. Even my kids devoured their meals! Then they surprised us with free ice cream and toppings for the kids, which was the sweetest touch. The owner was walking around giving out samples of meat too—just amazing hospitality all around. This was our first visit but absolutely will not be our last. We’ll 100% be back!
Best food with a hometown feel. Absolutely loved every part of our visit! From feeling welcomed to the delicious bbq and sides. Perfectly sweetened tea. My mouth is literally watering with this review. If you haven’t been here, it’s a must. If you have, keep showing them some love. When we travel back through, I’ll be sure to make a pit stop once again. The special treat for my little one made a core memory since she still brings it up.
It’s not every day you see a restaurant rocking a 4.9 rating with hundreds of reviews, so I had high hopes walking into Sullivan Old Town BBQ—and they absolutely delivered. The inside dining area has about 10–15 tables, and there’s a well-designed covered patio to handle overflow, complete with plenty of overhead fans to keep things bearable, even in the Texas heat. I went with the sliced brisket and ribs plate, paired with mac & cheese and beans. Cost was around $29 with tax and a drink. Drinks are self-serve, and they’ll hand you a pager that buzzes when your food is ready. Service was excellent—friendly staff, regular check-ins, and a manager who made the rounds to make sure everything was just right. A sweet surprise came at the end: a warm, homemade cinnamon roll, delivered by one of the kindest ladies you’ll meet. Also, if it’s your first visit, expect a fun cowbell celebration! Overall, this place earns two thumbs up—covered in BBQ sauce, of course. Great food, great vibe, and a team that truly cares about your experience. I’ll definitely be back.
Found this place on a recent visit to Dallas. While I'm admittedly not (yet) a barbecue aficionado, the food here was AMAZING!!! The brisket was fall-off-the-fork, melt-in-your-mouth delicious. No sauce or seasoning necessary. The staff was super-friendly, and service was great. Definitely will be back the next time I'm in the area.
Only 4.9 rating? Maybe due to lack of parking? I don’t know but we arrived right after lunch rush on Tuesday and the entire facility was spotlessly clean and no parking issues. We were greeted very nicely and were walked through the menu. After ordering brisket and turkey with two sides we had a choice of a variety of delicious cane sodas included in our order! We noticed they had a coloring page for the kids with multiple efforts hanging like a linear “Warhol” under the counter top. The sides I chose were potato salad and Mac n cheese. Wife had coleslaw. All homemade and fresh! I wish I had ordered dessert! Wife requests a chilled cucumber tomato salad as a possible summer side! We loved every bite and can’t stop thinking about the great meal and experience. Looking forward to the next visit! Thanks everyone, it was delicious!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible BBQ with awesome hospitality! I had an amazing experience at Sullivan Old Town BBQ. I ordered the Showing Off Platter, and every bite was delicious — tender, juicy, and packed with that authentic Texas BBQ flavor. What really stood out was the very nice hospitality. The staff was super friendly and checked in to ask how my meal was, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. Plus, here’s a fun bonus: if you tell the staff where you’re coming from, they’ll ring the bell to celebrate — such a cool, unique touch! The atmosphere is casual and full of hometown charm. If you’re anywhere nearby, definitely stop by Sullivan Old Town BBQ. I’ll be back for sure!
The food was absolutely delicious. We had just about everything - brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, Texas Twinkie, and banana pudding - and each was fantastic! The staff is kind and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming, inside and out. We will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed my lunch here last weekend. BBQ was amazing. The brisket, ribs and jalapeno sausage were all extremely good. We split a platter among 2 people and walked away stuffed with a little left over. Service was excellent. They went above and beyond making us feel welcome, checked on,and taken care of. Even had a nice brief conversation with the owner who checked on us while enjoying the desert. Oh and the portions for the dessert were huge!! Great food really fairly priced
We've been wanting to give this restaurant a try for awhile now. It was worth the weight. Very tasty brisket, melt in your mouth. We tried the mac and cheese and the grilled veggies. Everything was very tasty. Great outdoor patio with heaters for the cold days and ceiling fans for our hot Texas summers. The only real issue is that the parking is very limited and not easy to get in and out of.
Wife and I stopped by on a Thursday night . The food here was amazing. I had the 3 meat plate($25.00) and my wife had the brisket potato.($14.00) My 3 meats were brisket, pulled pork and mild smoked sausage. It came with 2 sides. I got cream corn and Mac and cheese and sliced bread. The loading potato was huge. I had to finish it for my wife.😋 Brisket was very good , had a choice of fatty, med fatty or lean. I got the med fatty. It was very good and full of flavor. Pulled pork was very good. Smoked sausage very good. The cream corn was super good and the Mac and cheese was very good. Everyone here was super nice. Owner came over and gave us some comp sides to try . collar greens and beans. Beans were good. The collar greens were not bitter at all. Very tasty,( I was never a fan of coller greens but these were very good ). We got here at 5:00 only 2 tables were full and the time we left at 6:00 the line was out the door . We ordered 6 slices of pies to go .($8.00 each). 1.) Carrot cake- I thought it was okay but my wife really liked it. 2.) Buttermilk pie - Very sweet . 3.) Sweet potato pecan pie - Very sweet 4.) Caramel apple pie - Good , would be better served with vanilla ice cream. 5.) Pecan pie - Wife and I really liked it. That was the winner. (Please see pics). While I was up getting the pies a very nice lady came down and sat with my wife to ask how everything was. In the conversation she told her on Friday night they have all you can eat fried catfish and rolls for $16.00 and on Saturday they have all you can eat ribs and rolls for $18.00 😋. We will be back to try the all you can eat ribs.
I’ve been to Sullivan’s about 5 or 6 times since I found out about them, a month ago, and they never disappoint. The meats are so flavorful and moist but they have an array of sauces that enhance it even more! **Pro Tip: the Bourbon BBQ is a hit** The mild sausage, the brisket, the Mac and cheese, the creamed corn…everything is just on point! Do yourself a favor and get a 2 meat plate with the sides and a slice of peach cobbler (it comes with ice cream)! Not only is the food delicious but the customer service is top notch. It’s hard to compare it to any other establishment. Everyone is so friendly and you’ll feel like family right when you walk through those doors. Catering is also available!!
3/2/2023: I ordered a turkey sandwich with okra and potato salad. The turkey tasted so fresh and was the best turkey sandwich I've ever had as well as the BBQ sauce. The potato salad was absolutely amazing as well. I ordered brisket nachos and those were very tasty. I also ordered a half order of ribs which were fall of the bone and extremely good. For dessert I ordered a peach cobbler and banana pudding, both were great especially the peach cobbler which was amazing and the best peach cobbler I've ever had. I highly recommend Sullivan Old Town BBQ IN Lewisville, it was the best BBQ I've ever had and the staff was very friendly.
Oof. I gotta come back and give them another chance but their bbq was not amazing like the ratings show. Got the whole rack of ribs and my buddy got their special brisket burger. Prices are great compared to others in the area and the staff are super nice, one of the best. They came around and handed out fresh cinnamon rolls. Those were the best bites of the evening. Now onto the bbq. The ribs were heavily/overly seasoned and felt like there was quite a bit of gristle compared to the other popular bbq places. I prefer the meat to shine through. Looked like a lot of uneatable fat in my buddies brisket. So subpar bbq meat but excellent service. Everyone had a smile. Willing to come back to give them another try but Hutchins is the one to beat still in DFW
I had the brisket plate with Charo beans and French Fries. Meat was tender. Beans were bland and nothing special about the fries either. Two sauces to choose from on the table. Comes with onion and dill pickle. Jalapenos available on request. Total for lunch was $20+tax. I probably won't be back. Better prices and taste to be found elsewhere. Over rated in my opinion.
We arrived about 6:30. There doesn't seem to be any parking on site. I parked across the street since it was after hours on a Saturday. A sign on the door encouraged us to park at the parking garage "down the street". There was a line, about 5 people, seating in the small inside dining room was mostly filled. Folks I was meeting were already in line. They told me there was no brisket, then came word they were out of pork, two min later they were out of turkey, when I was next in line a lady came from behind the counter to tell me and the guy behind me "we're cutting our last ribs, so I think we're totally out of meat". I asked what they did have and she said "I can make you a burger." so I had the burger (which was good) and a cup of water for just under $16. They were friendly, but still open for another hour and a half. We saw quite a few people come & leave empty handed. I did taste the ribs (okay) and mild sausage (very good) my daughter had ordered. She liked the fried okra and Mac and cheese. One weird thing is they don't have coke, Dr Pepper, Pepsi, etc. It's all some off brand, generic "cola" type soft drinks. (maybe you could order one in a can/bottle?) They have great ratings overall, that's why we drove in to Lewisville try them. So, if you want to try their BBQ, you need to get there a little earlier than 6:30. And just know that like many other BBQ joints, it's pricey. $15+ for a good, but nothing special, burger with no chips, fries, etc. is just too much. I would try them again if it was convenient and earlier in the day,but probably won't make the effort to drive here for supper again.
Great customer service, the owner was kind as well! I took my food to go I ordered the two meats platte. I was looking forward to this food based on the reviews I ordered the Brisket and Mild Sausage, the sides were collard greens and potato salad. I also had cornbread. A drink comes with the platter. More then enough to feed two with the meats. The brisket tasted ok. I I was disappointed with the mild sausage and the collard greens. The greens were not prepared from seasonings from meat actually I cannot tell which seasonings were used and the sausage it is hard to describe the flavoring as well. The sauces were thin. The potato salad and cornbread was the best things. For $25+ I expected my sicks to be knocked off. It wasn’t.
